The purpose of this study was to determine the form of directive speech acts of Indonesian language teachers in the learning process. In this study primary data were collected directly by the researcher in the form of utterances and their context in the Indonesian language learning process that contained directive speech acts. There are three stages in this research, namely the provision of data, data analysis and presentation of data analysis results. The results of the study, in its realization, the use of utterances are still classified as directive utterances even though they are delivered using different modes and are not in accordance with what is said, namely the imperative, declarative, and interrogative modes. The use of command speech is a form of directive speech that is predominantly used by instructors during learning. In conclusion, the directive speech acts of teachers in the Indonesian learning process generally have varied forms, speech containing directive speech tends to be found when the teacher explains the material, and when the teacher gives an assignment. The directive speech act in learning is speech act concerned on the conversation context. Conversation context aimed includes with whom, to whom, what, and how the speech delivered, therefore it mush be concerned by teacher and student in learning process. This research is conducted to describe directive speech act and between teacher with student and student with student in Indonesian learning at Surakarta Citizens' High Schools. The purpose of this research is to know the directive speech act in Indonesian learning process. The method conducted of this research is qualitative descriptive. The object of this research includes speech between teacher with student and student with student involved in Indonesian learning process. The data collecting technique of this research is conducted by: observation, recording, and note. The data analysis of this research is describing the recording value, data reduction, data interpretation, and summarising. Based on research value at Surakarta Citizens' High Schools, shows that directive speech act conducted by the teacher with student more dominant is done by teacher. It happens because the teacher as good figure of speaking and polite in speech.   Keywords: directive speech act, Indonesian  learning   Abstrak Tindak tutur direktif dalam pembelajaran merupakan tindak berbahasa yang memperhatikan konteks pembicaraan. Konteks pembicaraan yang dimaksud berkaitan dengan siapa, kepada siapa, apa, dan bagaimana tuturan itu disampaikan oleh karena itu, menjadi perhatian untuk guru dan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendeskripsikan tindak tutur direktif antara guru dengan siswa dan siswa dengan siswa dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SMA Warga Surakarta. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tindak tutur direktif dalam proses pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dekriptif kualitatif. Objek dalam penelitian ini mencakup tuturan antara guru dengan siswa dan siswa dengan siswa. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa yang terlibat dalam proses pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara: pengamatan, perekaman, pencatatan. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan hasil rekaman, reduksi data, interpretasi data, dan menarik kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di SMA Warga Surakarta menunjukan bahwa, penggunaan tindak tutur direktif yang dilakukan oleh guru dan siswa lebih dominan adalah guru. Hal ini terjadi karena guru sebagai contoh yang baik dalam bertutur dan santun dalam berbahasa.   Kata kunci: tindak tutur direktif, pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia

Directive speech act is very important in learning interactions because it makes it easier for students to understand learning material. Seeing the COVID-19 pandemic situation, learning was carried out online, so teachers had to use other alternatives in delivering material. One of them is using digital media in the form of interactive video lessons. Interactive videos make it easier for students and teachers to carry out learning. This study aims to describe directive speech acts in interactive learning videos in high school. The data of this research is in the form of directive speech acts in interactive learning videos of Indonesian in Senior High School. The data source is an interactive video document of Indonesian language learning in Senior High School which was obtained from the Teacher Room and Senior High School Directory of the Ministry of Education and Culture. The technique of collecting data used listening and taking notes. The data validity used source and theory triangulation. The data analysis technique used interactive data analysis (Miles and Huberman). The results of the study concluded that there were fifty-three directive speech act data consisting of: requests for twenty-four data, orders as many as seventeen data, ordering as many as two data, and giving advice as many as ten data.

This research examined the directive speech acts of Arabic teacher in the teaching learning process: the perspective of Sinclair and Coulthard. The study focused on: (1) the forms of directive speech acts in the teaching learning process of Arabic class at Islamic Senior High School in Al Munawaroh. This research was conducted by qualitative case approach. The data of this research was the directive speech acts of teacher. The data were collected from recording observation and interview and was analyzed by interactive model analysis.The findings consisted of the form of directive speech acts in the teaching learning process of Arabic class containing 3 forms. There were imperative, interogative, and declarative. From this study, it is expected that Arabic language teachers are able to use isim fi’il amr"هيا" , gesture language for commanding, and interogative to improve students’ motivation and theirs’ feedback in language teaching.

ABSTRACT This article was written to describe the directive speech actions and speech strategies of Indonesian language teachers in class VII SMP Negeri 31 Padang. This research is qualitative with descriptive method. The sample of this study was grade VII students of SMP Negeri 31 Padang. The data of this research is the form of directive speech acts, speaking strategies and the context of the speaking of Indonesian language teachers in SMP Negeri 31 Padang in the 2018/2019 school year. The source of the research data is the speech of one Indonesian language teacher who teaches in class VII SMP Negeri 31 Padang. This research was conducted at the first meeting of the odd semester, for two meetings in the ongoing learning process.Based on the results of research and conclusions, it is suggested that the following things are suggested. (1) Directive speech acts and speech strategies of Indonesian subject teachers need to be developed, (2) Teachers are expected to use varied and good speech strategies to get the desired learning outcomes, (3) Teachers are expected to be able to use various examples of directive speech acts and appropriate speech strategies so that the process of speaking strategies that vary and discussion activities in the classroom become fun, and (4) the teacher is expected to be able to attract the attention of students in order to obtain a good learning process. Kata kunci: Tindak Tutur, Tindak Tutur Direktif, Strategi Bertutur

This study aims to describe the type, and speech act strategy of teacher and student politeness in learning Indonesian in class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sakra. The method used for data collection, namely observation, recording, and interviews. The results of the study show: (1) formalities between teachers and students always pay attention to the speech events when speaking; (2) speakers are always prejudiced towards the speech partners; (3) speakers are able to distinguish between conveying situations, namely serious situations and joking situations; (4) the types of teacher and student directive speech acts in Indonesian language learning in the classroom in the form of governing and the type of expressive speech acts in the form of forgiveness, praise, and criticism, both types of speech acts are predominantly conducted by teachers and students; (5) speakers are always introspective in order to know exactly what the partners say or use; (6) the principle of politeness and directive type of speech applied by teachers and students in learning Indonesian, including (1) maxim of wisdom; and (2) maxim of praise; (7) directive and expressive speech action strategies used by teachers and students in learning Indonesian, directly and indirectly.

  This study aims to observe and describe the use of speech acts by Barack Obama when he announced the death of Osama bin Laden. The writer focuses on illocutionary acts used by Barack Obama. The primary data source is the transcript of Barack Obama’s speech at White House on May 1st, 2011 after the death of Osama bin Laden. The types of illocutionary acts are observed by the writer according to Searle’s Taxonomy of Illocutionary Act. They are representatives, directives, commissives, expressives, and declarations. The result of the study shows that representatives are frequetnly used by Obama in his speech. Representatives are used in 54 utterances (74%); Commissives are used in 11 utterances (15%); Expressives are used in 7 utterances (11%). Barack Obama used none both directive speech acts and declaration speech acts. Representatives are frequently used in Barack Obama speech because the purpose of the speech is to announce the death of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan. The evidence is that most utterances in the transcipt use statements, descriptions, and reports.

This research aims at knowing: (1) the realization of politeness of verbal and non-verbal directive speech acts of students, (2) deviations on politeness principles of students’ directive speech acts, and (3) the determining factors to the politeness and non-politeness of verbal and non-verbal directive speech acts for the Tenth Grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Mataram in the process of learning in the classroom. Research subjects in this study were the teachers who taught Indonesian, English, Economics, History, Mathematics, Religion, Civics, and Natural Sciences (IPA), and all students who are in class X of IPS 2, IPA 1 and IPA 3 in SMA Negeri 1 Mataram. This research belongs to qualitative descriptive study. The data were collected using observation method. The results of this study showed that: (1) there is the emergence of speech acts of the verbal and non-verbal directive of the students in the learning process, such as directive speech acts of rebuking, commanding, banning, advising, asking, reminding, satirizing, suggesting, threatening, rebuking, and (2) there is deviation of the principle of politeness of directive speech acts that is deviation of principle of one maxim, two maxim, and deviation of three maxim, and (3) there are influencing factors for the politeness and non-politeness of verbal and non-verbal directive speech acts of students in the learning process , including linguistic and non-linguistic factors.

The purpose of this research is to describe the professional competence of Grade IV Indonesian teachers at The Central Ende Catholic Primary School in Ende Regency. Professional competence relates to the teacher's ability to master materials and teaching tasks. This research is a type of descriptive qualitative research. Subjects in this study were Indonesian teachers, principals, and grade IV students. The object of this research is the professional competence of teachers of Bahasa Indonesia subjects. Data collection using interview, observation, and documentation methods. Data analysis is conducted descriptively qualitatively. Based on the results of this study, it is known that the professional competence of Indonesian teachers in grade IV in Catholic primary schools in Central Ende subdistrict is relatively good. Professional competencies that have been mastered by teachers include the ability of teachers in mastering materials, structures, concepts, and scientific mindsets, the ability of teachers in mastering the standard of competence and basic competencies of the Indonesian language, the ability of teachers in developing indonesian language learning materials creatively, and the ability of teachers in developing professionally in a sustainable manner. Thus, it can be concluded that the overall professional competence of indonesian language teachers in grade IV as threatening as Ende Tengah needs to be maintained and also organized efforts to continuously improve the professional competence of teachers in accordance with the development of science and technology.

The Purpose of this study is to describe the use of directive speech acts of prohibition in the Spirited Away movie which are based on the pattern of prohibitions in Japanese. It also aims to find out the factors that influence the prohibition of speech based on the context of the conversation and categorized them into direct or indirect speech. The data of this research were taken from the utterance of the characters containing the directive speech acts of prohibition. The use of prohibition directive speech acts is analyzed based on the prohibition pattern in Japanese in accordance with the theory of Namatame. This type of research uses the qualitative descriptive research method with a pragmatic approach. From the results of data analysis it was found that the use of illocutionary speech forms directly prohibits,which are: the patterns of  ~ V ru na, ~ te wa ikenai, ~ naide, ~ dame, and ~ janai. Ilocutionary forms are directly used by people who have strong authority over their partners. With his authority the speaker does not need to use indirect speech which usually emphasizes modesty.

AbstrakArtikel ini membahas satu jenis strategi penerjemahan yang berfokus pada penerjemahan pada level kata yang bersifat non-equivalent menurut Mona Baker. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan jenis strategi penerjemahan apa saja dalam taksonomi tersebut  yang diaplikasikan pada penerjemahan kata-kata non-equivalent yang ditemukan pada novel-novel Indonesia sebagai bahasa sumber ke dalam bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa sasaran; dan juga untuk mengidentifikasi apakah pesan yang terdapat pada kata-kata bersifat non-equivalent pada bahasa sumber tersampaikan sama pada bahasa sasaran. Metode yang digunakan untuk membahas aplikasi strategi penerjemahan ini adalah metode kualitatif-komparatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kata-kata yang bersifat non-equivalent diterjemahkan dengan menggunakan 7 dari 8 strategi penerjemahan yang ada dan secara keseluruhan strategi penerjemahan untuk kata non-equivalent mampu menyampaikan pesan yang terdapat pada kata-kata non-equivalent tersebut meskipun tidak semua secara detil.Kata kunci: strategi penerjemahan, kata non-equivalent, strategi penerjemahan Mona Baker AbstractSpeech act is the activity of uttering speech with a specific purpose. Research on speech acts has been done by many researchers before, but the number is still limited that reviewed the speech acts during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study discussed the types of speech acts on Instagram social media during the Covid-19 period. This study used a pragmatic approach with Searle's speech act theory (1979). The method used is descriptive qualitative. Based on the results of data analysis, researcher found that 3 types of speech acts, namely 1) Directive speech acts with the implicature of persuading and encouraging; 2) Representative speech acts with the implicature of commanding and challenging; 3) Expressive speech acts with the implicature of encouraging.Keywords: Covid-19, Pragmatic, Speech act
