The quality of education is very important for success in learning, by using various methods or tools to make it easier for students to understand discrete mathematics material, based on the 23% graduation rate of students who do not complete discrete mathematics at XYZ University, it is necessary to innovate learning applications, use The game education application provides convenience in developing learning media, namely the Digital Math Game, an Android-based mobile application that makes it easy for students to learn discrete mathematics. This application is equipped with several features, namely games to hone the extent to which students' ability to do discrete math exercises randomly, with the reward in the game, the questions are designed to be more difficult and graded, Fuzzy Sugeno algorithm calculates logic to determine rewards based on time variables and problem solving. This application has an AR (Augmented Reality) feature to provide 3D views and videos on discrete mathematics textbooks, 30 algorithm testing with 100% accuracy.

Nations are making huge investments to ensure that their citizens receive the education so that they can contribute to different aspects of development of a country. Despite the investments in education in many countries, researches show that there is need to improve the quality of education offered in tertiary institutions. To improve the quality of education offered institution of higher learning need to consider approaches that place students at the center of the learning process. One such approach is to use mobile application-aided collaborative learning. Mobile application-aided Collaborative learning promises great benefits to students and institutions. However, to successfully implement mobile application aided collaborative learning, it is important to determine if students are ready to use it. In this paper, we use the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) to determine the key factors that should be put in place for collaborative learning to be used successfully. The main contribution that this paper makes is that, it identifies the factors that Copperbelt University needs to work on so that collaborative learning can be used more effectively.

The main meaning of decision making in a school is the action of releasing practical, tactical and operational actions as planning actions to be achieved, implementation strategies and problem solving strategis, through decisions based on the result of the selection of several alternative solutions deciding to achieve the objectives of the school. The strengths and weaknesses of the decision maker are determined in the style used by the principal. Decision making activity is the identification of an error so that problems can be formulated and decisions have an alternative which can be calculated so that are impacts arise. Most courses on Discrete Mathematics are designed to emphasize problem solving, in general. When the goal is to cover the content, the learning and understanding takes a second place. Over time, the students’ understanding will have large gaps of knowledge that leads to non-enjoyment of the course and a great deal of anxiety. Given the choice, most first year students would not do the Discrete Mathematics course. It is not an easy course to teach because of the opposing expectations of the instructor and students. However, as instructors, we all share a common goal: we would like our students to acquire the skills to perform complex mental operations so that they will be successful in the classroom as well as their future careers. In this paper, we present a way to enhance the learning and understanding of Discrete Mathematics whether it is offered in a distance learning mode or a traditional classroom situation.

Teachers are the key factor in promoting quality of education at grass root level. They ought to be kept themselves abreast with the modern approaches in promoting quality of education and get acquainted with professional training for the effective teaching-learning process. The primary aim of the study was to explore the effectiveness of in-service teacher training programs on professional excellence of teachers in promoting quality of education. A total of 75 respondents constitute the sample of the study. A close-ended questionnaire with five point Likert scale was designed and subjected for data collection. The collected data was treated with chi-square statistics. Result indicated that the objectives of the in-service teacher programs were not clearly articulated to teachers, teachers we problem-solving to enroll in in-service teacher programs, the institutes offering in-service teacher training programs lacks the provision of physical facilities, majority of the courses fails to ensures creativity among in-service teachers regarding problem solving approach, A.V. aids were not subjected in teaching-learning process, in-service teachers were not involved in transactional approaches during the training, and organization among theory and practice were lacking. In the light of results, it was recommended that proper articulation of objectives of the program ought to be done to all in–service teachers, proper allocation of funds may be elicited to avoid lacks of physical facilities, and gaps between theory and practice may be removed that the actual crux of the program may be achieved in real sense.

Various efforts to develop education which related to quality of education were overall implemented by the government to enhance quality of education. The implementation of compatible method was an effort to improve learning achievement and accomplish learning goals. Peer tutoring is a group of students who have completed learning material then provide assistance for others who got difficulty in understanding the material. From the research result were obtained, (1) Sig. 0,011 = Ho was rejected means there was difference in students learning result in mathematic lesson by using peer tutoring method compare with conventional learning method; (2) Sig. 0,002 = Ho was rejected means there was difference in problem solving communication skill in mathematic lesson by using peer tutoring method compare with conventional learning method; (3) Sig. 0,043 = Ho was rejected means there was difference in problem solving comprehension skill in mathematic lesson by using peer tutoring method compare with conventional learning method. From the data, it can be concluded that students learning result using peer tutoring method was more effective. It was because, this method demanded students to be more active in learning process either individual or overall.

The study aims to analyze about the low graduation and certification exam training participants of the procurement of goods / services of the government and its contributing factors, and formulate a strategy of education and training and skills certification exams procurement of goods / services of the government. Collecting data using the method of study documentation, interviews, and questionnaires. Is the official source of information on the structural and functional Regional Employment Board, as well as the participants of the training and skills certification exams procurement of goods / services of the government in Magelang regency government environment. Analysis using 4 quadrant SWOT analysis, to determine the issue or strategic factors in improving the quality of education and training and skills certification exams procurement of government goods / services within the Government of Magelang regency. The results show organizer position is in quadrant I, which is supporting the growth strategy, with 3 alternative formulation strategies that improve the quality of education and training and skills certification exams procurement of government goods / services, and conducts certification examination of the procurement of government goods / services with computer assisted test system (CAT). Based on the research recommendations formulated advice to the organizing committee, namely: of prospective participants of the training and skills certification exams procurement of goods / services the government should consider the motivation of civil servants, is examinees who have attended training in the same period of the year, the need for simulation procurement of goods / services significantly, an additional allocation of training time, giving sanction to civil servants who have not passed the exam, the provision of adequate classroom space with the number of participants of each class are proportional, as well as explore the evaluation of education and training and skills certification exams procurement of goods / services for Government of participants.

AbstractThe purpose of this paper is to reveal how the quality of education in this Islamic boarding school is, particularly related to education facilities, curriculum and strategies of education quality improve­ments. This study used the qualitative method. Findings of this study are: first, education infrastructure and facilities are relatively complete and adequate, which are supported by the atmosphere of the Islamic boarding school that is full of simplicity and modesty by habituation in implementing clean and healthy lifestyle. Second, the tafaqquh fi-al din (understanding of religion)-based curriculum compiled by the Islamic boarding school occupies the same degree (equal) to the curriculum prepared by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, so that both tafaqquh fi-al din (understanding of religion) studies and general studi­es have high electability, which is able to increase the quality of education and also generates interest and motivation of the people (parents) to put their children to the Islamic boarding school. Third, education in the Islamic boarding school has a strong independency because it is supported by substantial financial resources.AbstrakTujuan tulisan ini untuk mengungkapkan bagaimana mutu pendidikan di pondok pesantren ini, khususnya berkaitan dengan sarana pendidikan, kurikulum dan sterategi peningkatan mutu pendidik­an. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Hasil temuan studi ini adalah: Pertama, sarana dan fasilitas pendidikan relatif lengkap dan memadai, ini didukung oleh suasana kehidupan pondok pesan­tren yang penuh kesederhanaan dan kebersahajaan dengan pembiasaan menerapkan pola hidup bersih dan sehat. Kedua, kurikulum yang berbasis tafaqquh fi-al din yang disusun oleh pondok pesantren ini menempati derajat yang sama (equal) dengan kurikulum yang disusun Kementerian Agama, sehinga baik kajian tafaqquh fi al-din maupun pelajaran umum memiliki electabilitas yang tinggi, hal ini mampu meningkatkan mutu pendidikan dan sekaligus membangkitkan animo dan motivasi masyarakat (orangtua) untuk memasukkan anaknya ke pesantren ini. Ketiga, penyelenggaraan pendidikan di pon­dok pesantren ini memiliki kemandirian yang kuat, karena didukung oleh sumber dana yang besar.

The purpose are (1) to know the school committee to improve the quality of education at SMP Al-Khairaat Kalumpang Ternate; ( 2 ) to know the work achievement of school committee to improve the education quality  at SMP Al-Khairaat Kalumpang Ternate.The approaches used in this research is a qualitative approach.Research result indicates that ( 1 ) a school committee at SMP Al-Khairaat Kalumpang Ternate has formed by 2012 in accordance with the decree no. 325 / B-III / SMP.BP. Alkh / 11 / 2010 and has the school committee structure, namely; chief; secretaries, and the treasury; ( 2 ) the school committee meeting periodically, that is four times in a year. Involved in the talks is the principal, the teacher, student parents, Al-Khairaat foundation and the school committee. Things had been spoken in the meeting are; the school fee, standards graduation, the school programs plan ; ( 3 ) the school committee does not make a written report yet orally. This is a form of violations Kepmendiknas number 044 / u / 2002 about the school committee.( 4 ) the school committee ' s active, this could influence the development of education at SMP Al-Khairaat Kalumpang Tenate.It is a part breach Kepmendiknas number 044 / u / 2002 about the school committee. The keywords:  performance, the quality, the school committee
