In this article the authors consider realization of futural meaning in the artistic text – in Victor Pelevin’s novel “Omon Ra”. The futurality is treated as a functional-semantic field according to functional grammar in version of A. V. Bondarko. The authors consider several expression forms of futurality which represent the different levels of language system: morphological, lexical, lexical-syntactic, syntactic, and contextually caused. These forms are descripted in terms of their frequency in the postmodern text.

The article features verbal mood as one of the morphological means of expressing the category of politeness. The main attention in the study of the category of courtesy and the means of its expression is focused on the functional grammar and the functional-semantic field as one of its basic concepts. When teaching a foreign language (grammar in general or communicative grammar in particular), the main role should be assigned to the functional principle of teaching. The principle is based on systems of different levels that express this or that meaning of the categories in question. The category of inclination, being an intentional category, expresses the relation of action to reality established by the speaker. Much attention is given to the characteristic features of the imperative and subjunctive moods that make up the nearest periphery of the functional-semantic field of courtesy both in Russian and Persian. The research concentrates on the semantics of the forms of imperative and subjunctive moods as invariants of the politeness category and explores various speech acts expressing different degrees of politeness in both languages.

The paper discusses the concept of language borrowing from different viewpoints and considers approaches to that linguistic phenomenon, from traditional to modern ones concerning borrowings at different levels in a language system, including phonetic, lexical and syntactic levels. These offer practical implications to research on the issue of borrowing in the Vietnamese language at present.

The article is devoted to discourse words as bearers of categorial concepts of the language organization and system of thinking. Categorial concept appears in the basis of the semantic field as a ,iltitude of commonly characterized indication signs. The author analyses semantic fields of particles and paradigmatic correlating units grouped with some content idea of specification. He further shows content parametres and the limits of the zone of the language unit operation, occurring language changes, semantic field evolution and basis of changes.

Каузативность – функционально-семантическая категория, находящая реализацию на разных уровнях языковой системы. Каузативация является здесь одной из самых продуктивных дериваций. Каузативные маркеры могут присоединяться как к непроизводным основам, так и к производным. В статье показано, что довольно часто в бурятском языке встречается двойное маркирование каузативных глаголов – двойная каузация, которая свойственна агглютинативным языкам. Основной целью данной статьи является исследование семантических особенностей явления двойной каузации в бурятском языке. В задачи входит рассмотрение формальных признаков глаголов с двойной каузацией, анализ их семантических и функциональных особенностей. Так, исследование показало, что в образовании глаголов двойной каузации в бурятском языке участвуют продуктивные суффиксы -уул и -лга. Другие аффиксы в образовании второй степени каузации не участвуют. Также выявлено, что большее распространение здесь имеет порядок присоединения аффиксов, при котором не дублируются одни и те же аффиксы, а присоединяются новые, при этом непродуктивные суффиксы всегда предшествуют продуктивным. В семантическом плане двойная каузация в бурятском языке указывает на многочисленность отдельных участников каузативной ситуации, которая предполагает выражение значения дистантной каузации. Также двойная каузация служит для выражения значения пермиссивной каузации. Двойное каузирование способно выражать значение интенсивности или многократности каузативного действия, а также значение поэтапного каузирования. Двойная каузация в бурятском языке может быть также признаком избыточного маркирования, простого дублирования. В бурятском языке каузативные суффиксы могут выступать в страдательном значении и утрачивать значение каузативности, но нами отмечен факт того, что такие неканонические случаи использования каузативных аффиксов также допускают двойную каузацию, которая представляется избыточной. В работе также уделяется внимание вопросу о двойной каузации лексических каузативов, при которой каузативации подвергаются немаркированные каузативные глаголы. Двойная каузация в этом случае может служить средством выражения дистантной каузации.Causativity is a functional-semantic category, which is implemented at different levels of the language system. Causative verbs in the Buryat language have morphological expression. Causation is one of the most productive derivations here. Causative markers can be attached to both non-derived bases and derivatives. Quite often in the Buryat language there is a double marking of causative verbs-double causation, which is characteristic of agglutinative languages. The main purpose of this article is to study the phenomenon of double causation in the Buryat language. The tasks include consideration of formal features of verbs with double causation, analysis of their semantic and functional features. Thus, it is show that productive suffixes -uul, -lga participate in the formation of double causation in the Buryat language. Other affixes do not participate in the formation of the second degree of causation. It is also revealed that the order of affixes addition is more widespread here, in which the same affixes are not duplicated, but new ones are added, while unproductive suffixes always precede productive ones. Double causation in the Buryat language indicates the large number of individual participants in the causative situation, which involves the expression of the value of distant causation, the expression of the value of permissive causation. Also, double causation is able to Express the value of intensity or multiplicity of causative action, the value of step-by-step causation. Double and even triple causation can also be a sign of excessive marking, simple duplication. In the Buryat language, causative suffixes can appear in the passive sense and lose the value of causation, but we note the fact that such examples also allow for double causation, which is also excessive. The paper also draws attention to the question of double causation of lexical causatives, in which the causative are not marked causative verbs.

After a long and very heated discussions in 60s-70s of the last century, the term «linguistic economy» is firmly established in Russian linguistics. However, the analysis of modern publications of Russian linguists indicates «embarrassing» polysemy of the term, which is used in different meanings: 1) ordinary, determined by the meaning of the word «economy» in the Russian language as frugality, thrift; 2) special, determined by A. Martinet theory, where economy is considered as the principle of organization and evolution of the language system; 3) mixed due to the mixture of different terms, ideas and concepts. The article discusses the main issues related to defining the essence of linguistic economy, its place and role in language evolution. Many postulates concerning these issues contradict well-known facts of language change on different levels of language system. However, if we strictly separate economy in speech from economy in language many contradictions disappear.

The article purports to summarize and rethink a considerable amount of facts collected by various researchers who studied the linguistic situation and the interplay of two languages, Spanish and Guarani, in modern Paraguay. Having revised a number facts pertaining to different levels of the language system, the author arrives at the conclusion that the linguistic phenomenon called yopará is emerging as a new language in the full sense of this word, its mixed origin notwithstanding, a real future national language now taking shape.

SamandragKorleis kan funksjonell grammatikk skape grunnlag for djupnelæring i norsk-faget? I norskfaget er det ein lang tradisjon for å skilje tydeleg mellom språket som system og språket i bruk, og ein gjennomgang av nyare lærebøker retta mot lærarstudentar viser at ein framleis i stor grad held fast på dette skiljet. Dei tilrådde grammatiske termane til bruk i skuleverket bygger på ein strukturalistisk og dels generativ grammatikktradisjon der tekstar blir sett på som uinteressante som studieobjekt. I læreplanen i norsk er det derimot nettopp tekstar som er det sentrale, og det er såleis lite samsvar mellom teoretisk tilnærming til det grammatiske systemet og vektlegginga av grammatikken som metaspråk for arbeid med tekst i læreplanen. Funksjonell grammatikkundervisning er ikkje det same som funksjonell grammatikkteori, og i artikkelen blir det argumentert for å legge ei funksjonell tilnærming til språksystemet til grunn for arbeidet med grammatikk i skulen. I funksjonell grammatikk ser ein språksystemet og tekstlege realiseringar av systemet som to sider av same sak, og ein vil såleis ha eit betre grunnlag for å sjå ulike delar av faget i samanheng. Med ei djupare forståing for tydinga til språklege kategoriar vil ein også skape større potensial for overføring av kunnskap mellom ulike teksttypar og mellom ulike språk.Nøkkelord: funksjonell grammatikk, metaspråk, djupnelæringFunctional grammar as metalanguage in school– an opportunity for deep learning when working with language and textAbstractHow can functional grammar create a foundation for deeper learning in Norwegian studies? In Norwegian schools, there is a long tradition for distinguishing clearly between the language system and language in use, and a review of newer textbooks for teacher students shows that this approach is still valid. The officially recommended grammatical terminology for use in schools is based on a structuralist and partly generative grammar tradition in which texts are seen as uninteresting as objects of study. In the curriculum, on the other hand, texts are the most central objects of study, which means that there is little harmony between the theoretical approach to the grammatical system and the emphasis on grammar as metalanguage for work with texts in the curriculum. Functional grammar teaching is not the same as functional grammar theory, and in the article it is argued for a functional approach to the language system as a basis for the teaching of grammar in schools. In functional grammar, the language system and textual realisations of the system are two sides of the same coin, and it therefore provides a good basis for seeing connections between different subject areas. With a deeper understanding of the meaning of language categories, one will also create greater potential for transferring knowledge between different text types and between different languages.Keywords: functional grammar, metalanguage, deep learning

Considered the problem of relations between such concepts as integration of language levels, category of person and anthropocentrism in the context of the ideas of professor S.G. Ilyenko. This is not accidental, since this problem is presented in her works as having a methodological character in connection with the recognition of anthropocentrism and integration as the main principles of the description of the language system. The key and organizing role in their interrelation is played by the category of the person which in various forms of its realization is present at different language levels and in communicative activity of the person as a whole. This allows us to consider the concept of integrative communicative space, which is represented as a unity created by the interaction of different types of knowledge: 1) knowledge obtained as a result of reflection and interpretation of reality; 2) knowledge of the language system used as a means of cognition of this reality and communication. As a result, communication is the highest level that allows you to compare information at different levels, and forms on their basis integrative unity, the integrity of which ensures the implementation of the language of its main function – communicative.

The present article examines the translated versions of the Armenian word yeghern in English and the semantic field of its equivalence. Based on the well-known speech/language dichotomy which is of fundamental importance in linguistics, the author examines the word as a unit of the language system and as an element endowed with a certain amount of dynamism and stylistic and pragmatic nuances in speech. The study of the word yeghern at the linguistic level is based on numerous data provided by explanatory, terminological and synonym dictionaries. The study of the speech peculiarities of the use of this unit is carried out from the point of view of the horizontal and vertical contexts based on the appeal to the Swedish parliament of 68 specialists of various fields. The investigation confirms that despite the broad semantic field of the unit both in Armenian and in English, the English equivalent for the word yeghern is genocide – the only equivalent which was internationally acknowledged back in 1948.
