The article deals with the interconnection and interdependence of phraseological semantic fields of Russian study of aphorisms in synchronic and in diachronic approaches. The correlation of phraseological semantic fields of Russian study of aphorisms is considered as their interdependence due to various factors (linguistic and extra-linguistic ones). The correlation of the phraseological semantic fields of Russian study of aphorisms is manifested in the existence of many antinomies. The natural linguistic antinomies of life / death / immortality or war / peace, or good / evil, or friend / enemy, or villainy / nobility are reflected in Russian aphorisms and have entered the corresponding phraseological semantic fields. The corpus of Russian study of aphorisms containsnot only antinomic aphorisms, but also antinomic relations that extend to the level of language and speech. Therefore, in Russian study of aphorisms there are phraseological semantic fields that implement these antinomies. In addition to the antinomic phraseological semantic fields in the corpus of classical Russian study of aphorisms there are other types of correlations. The keywords (concepts) of many phraseological semantic fields are closely thematically connected. When the number of units from one field is changed, the number of units in another phraseological semantic field also changes. Most phraseological semantic fields of Russian study of aphorisms do not show a zero correlation in either synchronic or diachronic approaches. This is due to, first of all, the universality of the aphoristic theme, with all the ideological and thematic uniqueness of the sayings used by Russian writers. However, a few phraseological and semantic fields of aphorisms by Russian writers may show a negative correlation, which is due to the diversity of the thematic groups that comprise them. A positive correlation of phraseological semantic fields, the most significant in the number of their constituent components, shows deep internal linguistic systemic connections in Russian classical study of aphorisms.

Abstract This paper describes the analysis of possible differentiation of the author’s idiolect in the space of semantic fields; it also analyzes the clustering of text documents in the vector space of semantic fields and in the semantic space with orthogonal basis. The analysis showed that using the vector space model on the basis of semantic fields is efficient in cluster analysis algorithms of author’s texts in English fiction. The study of the distribution of authors' texts in the cluster structure showed the presence of the areas of semantic space that represent the idiolects of individual authors. Such areas are described by the clusters where only one author dominates. The clusters, where the texts of several authors dominate, can be considered as areas of semantic similarity of author’s styles. SVD factorization of the semantic fields matrix makes it possible to reduce significantly the dimension of the semantic space in the cluster analysis of author’s texts. Using the clustering of the semantic field vector space can be efficient in a comparative analysis of author's styles and idiolects. The clusters of some authors' idiolects are semantically invariant and do not depend on any changes in the basis of the semantic space and clustering method.

The concepts of diplomacy and foreign policy are directly connected. Continuing events on the world stage and the interaction of political figures (heads of state and diplomatic workers) lead to the formation of a common international situation. The current general international situation has a significant effect on the foreign policy of countries. Diplomacy is a key tool for the successful conduct of the foreign policy of each active participating state. Foreign policy significantly affects the independent system of law governing interstate relations, while diplomacy helps to formulate general international rules for this system. In this respect, the relationship of the concepts under consideration is clearly expressed. In the course of the study there are lexical units of the semantic field “diplomacy” and “foreign policy” were selected from Russian and English dictionaries with political and diplomatic designations; there was studied and verified the material in the form of diplomatic documents, protocols and international agreements.

The aim of the articleis to study peculiarities of nominations of minerals in Russian and in its regional version, in the socio-lexicon of the Ural mining workers. For this purpose, a methodological procedure was developed based on the methods of corpus linguistics and an exemplary analysis of the semantic field mineral (minerals) in Russian was performed. The theoretical and methodological procedure is based on the semantic field theory, theory of divergence andthelexical approachproposed by Kevechs. As the material of the study were used the tales (skazy) of Pavel Bazhov .The tales (narrations) of Bazhov are a bright representation of the Ural folklore, regional perception of natural objects, their metaphorical reinterpretation , enrichment of semantic fields associated with the occupation of the inhabitants of the region, with additional semantic meanings. The results of the study reflect the presence of significant differences in the semantic structure of lexemes-nominations of minerals in the Russian language and its regional variant.

Introduction. The era of information wars requires a great deal of mastery of the word. A wide range of recipient’s emotions that can be evoked by certain lexemes makes language an essential tool in the fight for people’s consciousness while conducting information campaigns that accompany armed conflicts. Purpose – the study of the structure of the associative-semantic field “hostile troops” based on the discourse of the Russian-Ukrainian information war. Methods. Methods of associative linguistic observation (emotional-expressive and figurative-sensual components of the semantics of the studied lexemes), associative-semantic modeling (associative-semantic fields and microfields formation) are being used. Results. As a result of the analysis, the structure of the associative-semantic microfield of the “hostile troops” has been modeled, within which eight groups (ASG) have been allocated. The main groups are: 1) terminolexemes with a component indicating Russia’s involvement in the Donbas conflict (Russian troops, armed forces of the Russian Federation); 2) names with “Putin”, “putinskyi” components that are synonymous with the concept of “Russia” (Putin’s terrorists); 3) metonymic names that associatively indicate the presence of troops of another state (foreigners, invaders); 4) terms without reference to the Russian trace, which are characteristic of the initial stage of the conflict, when the fact of Russian aggression has not yet been recognized by Ukrainian legislation (militants, separatists), etc. Conclusion. Thus, the terminology used by the Ukrainian society is an important mean of waging an information war, and more specifically, repelling not only the armed aggression, but also the information hostile aggression. The study of such names is especially relevant because it enables to form the linguistic identifiers of the war period and to follow the psycholinguistic reactions of the society to the frontline news.

The paper addresses the analysis of the lexis used for verbalization of lawyer’s professional activity described by John Grisham in his work “Rogue Lawyer.” The words used for lawyer’s professional activity are approached as uniform corpus of nominative units. The paper focuses on the corpus content and the research of functional peculiarities of its nominative units is offered. The approach to classification of the lexical corpus used by the author for description of lawyer’s professional activity is based on content-analysis procedure. The latter presupposes the fracturing of lexical corpus into specific categories differentiated according to part of speech they belong to. The researched corpus of lexical units contains nominal, verbal, and adjectival / adverbial / participial categories. The obtained data point at their definite mode to explicate the semantic characteristics and the functional potential of each lexical unit analysed. As the result it was determined that the distribution of the units within the corpus of lexis adheres to the principle of functional-semantic field and their smaller fragments – micro functional-semantic fields. Thus, it is inspected that the corpus of lexis used by John Grisham in his book “Rogue Lawyer” splits into four functional-semantic fields: “Lawyer,” “Client,” “Trial,” and “Tools,” which involve the smaller components − micro functional-semantic fields.

This article analyzes the resources of application of computer technologies for the purpose of visualization of the text semantic field “laughter”. The concept of “laughter” holds a special place in the works of F. M. Dostoevsky, as well as in one of the central semantic fields in the text semantic space of the novel “Crime and Punishment”. Examination of the semantic field within the space of a particular literary text allows determining the peculiarities of the authorial thesaurus within the structure of his linguistic identity. The subject of this article is the concept of “laughter” as the core of the corresponding text semantic field; determination of saturation of the text with the words belonging to a certain semantic field. Despite the fact that multiple questions related to the theory of semantic field are well studied, the scholars take interests in studying the linguistic material, denoted in field linguistics, namely development of the techniques for visualization of the semantic  network through creating cloud tags, semantic text markup, synoptic patterns, rendering, etc. The article offers one of the techniques – visualization based on construction of a plot using a specifically developed computer software. The graphic image illustrates the distribution of units of the semantic field “laughter” in the novel, which enables new interpretations of the content of Dostoevsky’s novel.

Abstract Cultural and social change goes hand in hand with linguistic change, especially in the form of semantic change, but also as phraseological change. The following questions are addressed in this article: What happens to phrasemes when a fixed component of them is undergoing semantic change? And what happens when the meaning of a phraseme as a whole changes? Which connections between cultural-social and phraseological change become visible? Using German phrasemes from the semantic field “home” as an example, seven possible cases of the connection between semantic and phraseological change are examined: The components of a phraseme and the phraseme as a whole do not change in essential areas of their semantics and prototypicality A component of a phraseme changes its meaning regarding one or more prototypical features, but the phraseme as a whole retains its meaning A component of a phraseme changes its meaning prototypically and the phraseme gains a new overall meaning The components of a phraseme do not change with respect to their prototypicality, but the phraseme as a whole does A phraseme dies out, although the components survive A component dies out, but the phraseme itself lives on One component changes and the phraseme dies out. Methodologically, the etymology of semantic fields and linguoculturology also play a role in the examination. The semantic field “home” offers itself for the analysis in a special way, as the home has been a central element of human life through the ages, which on the one hand shows a great stability as a concept, but on the other hand is exposed to innovations again and again. Accordingly, the examples cover the entire period of German language history from Old High German to evidences from the 21st century.
