The aim of this paper is to find out the relationship between emotional intelligence and organizational commitment of the hotel staff in 5-Star hotels of Tehran, Iran. The research enjoys an applied, descriptive, survey-based, and correlational framework. The population of the study was comprised of 423 employees (N =423) of public 5- star hotels in Tehran including Esteghlal, Laleh, and Homa. The sample was randomly selected based on Kerjesi- Morgan table and included 142 (n=142) individuals. The data gathering instruments were two standard questionnaires measuring emotional intelligence and organizational commitment. To analyze the data, Pierson correlation, ANOVA, and Qi-square were employed and results revealed that there was a significant relationship between the two main variables of the study, namely; emotional intelligence and organizational commitment and some of the components of these variables. This signifies the necessity of attracting and employing highly emotionally intelligent individuals, training them in different levels and leading them towards the application of the skills required. Paving the ground for the development and continuation of emotional intelligence within managers and the staff of the hotels and residential centers are also inevitable factors to be followed.

A sample of 300 students was drawn from 12 schools, having a total population of 5120 students was sampled for this study. The instrument that was used for data collection in this study was a self-structured 4-point Likert Scale Modified questionnaire titled: School Plant Maintenance and Students Academic Performance in Public Secondary Schools Questionnaire. (SPMSAPPSSQ). A test–retest method was used to ascertain the reliability of the instrument. The two sets of scores were computed using Pearson product moment correlation to determine the reliability index value 0.72 while the hypothesis is at 0.05 level of significance. The findings of this study revealed that maintenance of a blackboard helps the students to see clearly, thereby enhancing their academic performance; the maintenance of ICT building enables students to take part in ICT classes effectively and that steady maintenance of the library makes it possible for reliable and current books to be available for students to study widely. Abstract Background In addition to the family and society’s support, the drug user plays a key role in the process of treatment and rehabilitation. Therefore, it is imperative to find the psychological, social, and motivational factors that can help them in the treatment process. The present study is an attempt to determine the relationship of psychological, social, and motivational factors and demographics of drug user care-seekers. Methods An analytical cross-sectional study was carried out. Psychological, Social, and Motivational Performance Questionnaire for drug users was first translated into Farsi and validated after securing a permission from the copyright holder of the tool. Participants were 250 drug user care-seekers under methadone therapy who were selected through convenient sampling. Before analyzing the collected data, validity and reliability of the tool were confirmed using confirmatory and exploratory factor analyses. Given the scale of demographical data, suitable statistics were used to analyze the relationship between demographical variables and psychological, social, and motivational factors. Results The results of exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses showed that out of 83 statements in the original questionnaire, 55 statements categorized into 11 aspects were usable for Iranian population. The results showed that gender, income, and marital status were effective in psychological performance of the drug users (P<0.05). However, education level, domicile, and type of drug and consumption did not have a significant relationship with social performance of the participants (p>0.05). There was a significant relationship between age, number of children, and history of using drug and psychological performance of the participants (P<0.01). The results showed that the demographics did not have a notable effect on the participants’ motivation for treatment; only marital status had a significant relationship with the participants’ readiness for treatment (P<0.05). Conclusion As the results showed, the demographical variables could affect physical, psychological, and motivational readiness in the participants.

Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) of instruction had become an option of schools, parents, and learners to access education. Despite its implementation for several years, research on its delivery and students’ academic performance was not endeavored. Hence, this study was conducted to determine the relationship of Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) program and performance of the students. The respondents of the study were 30 students from nine elementary schools in the Division of Digos, Davao del Sur. Results showed that most of the respondents enrolled in the Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) were male, at age 11, and were laborers. Most of them were low performers. The respondents rated the Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) implementation as moderate. It further revealed that there was no significant difference in the level of implementation of Alternative Delivery Mode in terms of gender and age but it showed significant relationship between the level of implementation of the program and the performance of the students. Intensification of Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) was recommended.

Article visualizations:

Traditional accounting has divided costs into variable and fixed costs, with changes made according to production levels, consequently, the cost behavior changes according to changes in the volume of production activity. Therefore, it has become necessary for successful management to understand cost behavior to face market changes and to adopt strategies that increase sales volume. The study period covered 12 years between 2006 and 2017. The study population was from Jordanian industrial shareholding companies. Using the regression models, the main results indicated that sales expenses could not explain changes in sales revenue in Jordanian companies; there was a significant relationship between sales expense changes and sales revenues, with sales expense changes having incremental information content over sales expense levels in explaining sales revenues. There was also no significant relationship between sales expense levels, sales expense changes, and sales revenues. The study suggests that future researches should be made in order to obtain business-oriented and specific information on how the decisions affect sales behavior. Overall, the study findings enhance our understanding about companies’ cost behavior and provide useful insights into financial and management accounting literature.

Purpose This paper aims to investigate the relationship between academic integrity of online university students and its effects on academic performance and learning quality. The first hypothesis aimed to see if there is statistically significant relationship between academic honesty of students taking online classes and their apparent academic performance. The second hypothesis aimed to see if there is a statistically significant difference in academic integrity among male and female students. The third hypothesis aimed to see if there was a statistically significant relationship between academic honesty of students and their quality of learning. Design/methodology/approach This is a quantitative study; data was collected via student emails from 155 active online university students. Findings There was a positive linear relationship for the first hypothesis, the relationship is relatively weak as the value of Pearson correlation was (0.172). For the second hypothesis, the results showed that there was no significant difference between males and females. The results for the third hypothesis showed that there is a statistically significant relationship between academic integrity of students taking online classes and academic learning quality. This relationship is relatively strong. Research limitations/implications The sample size may have been a limitation for generalizing the results. Practical implications As a practical implication, authors recommend that education administrators focus on training their faculty members to stress and instill strong ethical values, such as academic integrity and honesty, in their students all throughout their academic journey. Score correlation coefficient between the two variables showed R= -0.562 which means that the strength of the relationship between the two variables in a medium category, as the value of r lies in the range 0.400-0.599, and has a negative relationship or in opposite directions. R²= 0.31472, means that the variable adjustment donated 31% of the variable aggressivenessKeywords: Adjustment, Aggressiveness, Members of the ArmyKODAMIX/UDAYANA in Bali
