Multilateral economic cooperation in the framework of RCEP is one of Thailand's main goals for its integration into the global economy. Due to its geographical location in the center of Southeast Asia, which maintains its leading role in the region, especially in economic aspects, Thailand will be able to make use of its Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) project to expand international trade with various partners in larger markets and attract foreign investment to the country through the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC 2025), and the China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Within the framework of the cooperation, Thailand, however, will face not only numerous opportunities, but also challenges.

The Belt and Road Initiative is a key project for Chinese foreign policy, using integration processes taking place in the global economy. The purpose of the article is an attempt to answer the question: would Poland be able to play a more significant role in the strategically important for China Central and Eastern Europe? According to the authors, the strategy requires parallel actions on many fronts: care for the quality of the Polish-Chinese relations is important due to the growing role of China in the global economy, but Poland should not break political and economic ties with traditional partners. The EU is a key economic partner for Poland, with the leading role of the German economy. However, it should skillfully use foreign investments that can serve to strengthen and deepen links with the economy worldwide, and not just with the nearest neighbors. Poland seems a natural place to create, among others, central transshipment hub (Central Communication Port) for this part of Europe.

Under “the Belt and Road” initiative, China promoted cooperation between domestic enterprises and international ports vigorously, which brought back fruitful results, while the rational selection of strategic pivots ports and the optimization of the layout of the port network are important guarantees to a further promotion to the economic development of “the Belt and Road” ports and give full play to the driving and radiation role of strategic pivots ports. On the basis of constructing a network of 155 ports in the world, according to the number of ports crossed by the shortest path and betweenness centrality in the network, this paper uses K-Medoids clustering algorithm to train the strategic importance of ports and verifies the reliability of the analysis results. On this basis, the joint coverage analysis of strategically important ports is carried out, 17 ports are identified as strategic pivots ports of the global port network, and, finally, based on the two attributes of “the Belt and Road” and “Chinese enterprise participation” of strategic pivots ports, the leading role of strategic pivots ports in geographical location, path coverage, development potential, cooperation stability, and control is analyzed, and instructive suggestions are put forward.

Based on the panel data of 278 prefecture-level cities in China from 2008 to 2018, this paper adopts DID method to verify the impact of “the Belt and Road initiative” on pollution level of these cities, the results are still robust through the placebo test and PSM-DID, the mechanism is also analyzed. The study found that “the Belt and Road initiative” has a significant effect on the emission of wastewater, waste gas and dust of cities in China; the mechanism test shows that “the Belt and Road initiative” has significantly reduced urban environmental pollution by promoting foreign investment, upgrading industrial structure and technological innovation.

The Belt and Road initiative (BRI) was announced in 2013 by the Chinese government. Its goal is to promote the cooperation between European and Asian countries, as well as enhancing the trust between members and unifying the market. Since its creation, more and more developing countries are joining the initiative. Based on the geographical location characteristics of the countries in this initiative, we propose an improvement of a popular recommendation algorithm that includes geographic location information. This recommendation algorithm is able to make suitable recommendations of products for countries in the BRI. Then, Fitness and Complexity metrics are used to evaluate the impact of the recommendation results and measure the country’s competitiveness. The aim of this work is to provide countries’ insights on the ideal development direction. By following the recommendations, the countries can quickly increase their international competitiveness.

Globalization is viewed not only as the objective, but also as the subjective process, the current version of which requires adjustments since it is characterized by the increasing inequalities and instability, causing conflicts worldwide, pushing regional groups towards confrontations. Globalization is to be directed for achieving the equitable levels of development across the globe for which it is suggested to establish the situational governing board as the common platform for collaboration between the regional blocs for global economy regulation. The notions of the regional state and the global/planetary state are introduced. The interdependence between regionalization and globalization is thoroughly analysed, which results is the explanation of the logic behind the process of the multipolar world formation as opposed to the unipolar one. The main points are illustrated by the facts from the EU integration history, WTO practice, the calculated indicators of the major thirteen regional integration groupings covering Europe, Asia, North, South America, Africa, two transregional organizations Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, as well as the USA, Developed economies of Europe, China. The contribution to the study of regionalism as the boosting phenomenon shaping the development of the world allowed to conclude that regionalization is critical for the sustainable future of the world.

The ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) was signed by the leading nations of Southeast Asia in Kuala Lumpur on 31, December 2015. This was a great achievement of regional integration, pointing members of the AEC towards a single market awakening. Despite this tremendous progress, the reality is that ASEAN members are now involved in two mega-regional agreements. One, which has the potential to protect ASEAN centrality, ASEAN+6 or the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP); and the other, the US-ledTrans-Pacific-Partnership Agreement. This participation by ASEAN members with various economic partners outside ASEAN may result in dependency to global capitalism networks.Departing from the above mentioned context, the core question then arises: Has the global economic structure provide an opportune precondition for the implementation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC)? To tackle this question, this essay will use Dependency Theory to analyze the global economicstructures which encase the AECs regional economic integration agenda and to reveal the ASEAN members dependence on global capitalism. This essay explores both the attempts of the ASEAN framework to create a comprehensive economic community; and the consequences of ASEAN integration with two mega-regional agreements in the region. It is argued that the dependency of ASEAN members on the structure of the global economy proves that it does not provide a proper pre-conditioning for the AEC to be implemented. Moreover, it will be hegemonic factors that challenge the existence of the AEC.

AbstractThe paper examines the importance of the ‘Chinese factor’ in today's world from the perspective of current phenomena such as particular political and economic uncertainty and also examines them against the background of processes of global cooperation and parallel unprecedented competition at the same level. Complex phenomena occurring in this area have recently been additionally disrupted by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Will the world be different?Globalization processes have taken place over the centuries but have gained particular importance in our present times, because we left ‘the golden age’ of globalization (1990–2010) already behind us. China, ever louder, talks about the need for a ‘new’ globalization, in line with its new aspirations as a pretender to the leadership position in the global economy. The Belt and Road Initiative, launched in 2013, has been in the centre of its vision. It has become the foundation for China's foreign policy in the horizon of at least the middle of XXI century. It was designed to re-confirm China's unprecedented economic success of the past four decades, which to a great extent could be derived from a skilful use of the ‘traditional’ mechanisms of globalization.

China's BRI provides a major impetus for promoting global governance transformation: The BRI heightens awareness of the need to establish a community of shared destiny for humanity and advances the development of epistemology in global governance. It provides more sustainable global public goods, thus raising the bar for global governance's ethical norms. The BRI blends top-down and bottom-up methods to global governance to promote voluntary action. The BRI builds on China's own experience combining reform, development, and stability, thus balancing the security, ecological, social, and economic aspects of global governance and fostering shared growth among nations and areas along the routes. I will identify by using an analytical review that Is the BRI a significant instrument for seeking after the energetic global authority of China? It inferred that generally, the BRI had been a successful tool in China's long quest for global governance leadership, yet extra efforts are required to handle risks and challenges.
