Organisational innovativeness has been discussed as a paradigm industrywide (DeMiranda, et al., 2009) and as a national source of competitive advantage (Ludviga, 2012). Studies indicate that innovativeness might depend on leadership and leaders’ capacities to establish right organisational climate. Current study investigates if the quality of relationship between the leaders and subordinates might influence the overall organisational innovativeness. The aim of the research is to test how the relationship between leaders and subordinates (measured by LMX scale, Graen, Uhl-Bien, 1995) impacts organisational innovativeness. The quantitative data were gathered via a structured survey within 80 large-size organizations with a total number of 405 respondents. To test the model, the hierarchical regression analysis was used. The results showed that the quality of relationship between the leader and the subordinate plays a statistically significant role in organisational innovativeness. This study allows a more comprehensive understanding of LMX from the societal perspective. Implications for the business practitioners in Latvia and managerial literature on LMX and innovativeness are discussed.

Abstract This research aims to determine the mediating role of e-health literacy levels on the relationship between awareness of coronavirus precautions for Covid-19 and dispositional hope during the Covid-19 era. The current research is based on sequential explanatory design. The quantitative data in this research were collected online Google form, and the qualitative data were collected using the online interview technique. Participants from whom qualitative data were obtained were determined using the analog sampling method, one of the criterion sampling method. Participants from whom the quantitative data of the study were obtained were determined using the snowball sampling method, one of the purposeful sampling methods. As a result of testing the structural equation model, it has been determined that e-health literacy has a full mediating role between awareness of koronavirus and dispositional hope. In addition, in the study, it was observed that people who had Covid-19 increased their awareness of Covid-19 before and after the disease. It has been determined that people pay more attention to the precautions that should be taken for the transmission of the disease, especially after the disease. As a result, it can be said that the necessity of raising the awareness of individuals and giving priority to increasing the level of e-health literacy has emerged.

The scientific problem of economics “Managing the quality of human life” is formulated on the basis of artificial intelligence, algebra of logic and logical-probabilistic calculus. Managing the quality of human life is represented by managing the processes of his treatment, training and decision making. Events in these processes and the corresponding logical variables relate to the behavior of a person, other persons and infrastructure. The processes of the quality of human life are modeled, analyzed and managed with the participation of the person himself. Scenarios and structural, logical and probabilistic models of managing the quality of human life are given. Special software for quality management is described. The relationship of human quality of life and the digital economy is examined. We consider the role of public opinion in the management of the “bottom” based on the synthesis of many studies on the management of the economics and the state. The bottom management is also feedback from the top management.

The role of infrastructure in encouraging transportation cycling in smaller cities with a low prevalence of cycling remains unclear. To investigate the relationship between the presence of infrastructure and transportation cycling in a small city (Lethbridge, AB, Canada), we interviewed 246 adults along a recently-constructed bicycle boulevard and two comparison streets with no recent changes in cycling infrastructure. One comparison street had a separate multi-use path and the other had no cycling infrastructure. Questions addressed time spent cycling in the past week and 2 years prior and potential socio-demographic and psychosocial correlates of cycling, including safety concerns. Finally, we asked participants what could be done to make cycling safer and more attractive. We examined predictors of cycling using gender-stratified generalized linear models. Women interviewed along the street with a separate path reported cycling more than women on the other streets. A more favorable attitude towards cycling and greater habit strength were associated with more cycling in both men and women. Qualitative data revealed generally positive views about the bicycle boulevard, a need for education about sharing the road and for better cycling infrastructure in general. Our results suggest that, even in smaller cities, cycling infrastructure may encourage cycling, especially among women.

(1) Background: Academic engagement has been reported in the literature as an important factor in the academic achievement of university students. Other factors such as emotional intelligence (EI) and resilience have also been related to students’ performance and quality of life. The present study has two clearly delimited and interrelated objectives. First, to study the mediational role that engagement plays in the relationship between EI and resilience on quality of life. Secondly, and similarly, to study the mediational role of engagement in the relationship between EI and resilience, but in this case on academic achievement. (2) Methods: For this purpose, four scales frequently used in the literature to measure emotional intelligence, resilience, academic engagement and quality of life were administered to 427 students of the University of Jaén undertaking education degrees. In addition, students were asked to indicate their current average mark as a measure of academic performance. Two mediational models based on structural equations were proposed to analyse the relationships between the proposed variables. (3) Results: The results obtained showed that emotional intelligence and resilience directly predicted students’ life satisfaction, but this direct relationship did not result in academic performance. In addition, and assuming a finding not found so far, engagement was shown to exert an indirect mediational role for both life satisfaction and academic performance of students. (4) Conclusions: The findings of the study support the importance of engagement in the design and development of instructional processes, as well as in the implementation of any initiative.
