The focus of the present research was to find out the Role of Siraiki Language in Teaching/Learning English Language at graduation Level. By this study the researcher attempted to expose the intentions for which the students and instructors make use of Siraiki in their English language classroom inside and outside activities and in the same way, to show the actions and the situations in which they select for not using their L1. To explore a clear comprehension of the current subject matter, the research targeted on the 577 students and the 156 teachers. Data was collected through questionnaires. The data was examined through SPSS (statistical package for social sciences) 23 version. Data were inspected using descriptive analysis, Analysis of variance (ANOVA), T-Test and Cronbach's alpha. The findings of the present study showed that the students and the teachers indicated highly positive perceptions concerning the use of Siraiki language in EFL classroom.

<p class="Normal1">The paper proposes a reflection on the role of English in the globalized world and its teaching/learning in Brazil. With that aim, the study reviews language policies and internationalization programs in Brazil regarding the role of foreign languages in general and of English in particular. The theoretical framework includes a review of an English language teaching (ELT) approach used mainly in Europe, as a result of globalization and internationalization, the Content and Language Integrated Approach (CLIL). In order to support this reflection, a case study was carried out to examine pre-service English teachers’ beliefs on the use of CLIL in Brazil. The results of study show that pre-service English teachers understand the importance of the CLIL approach though they are aware of the various obstacles to its implementation in that context. The study suggests a review of language policies in Brazil so as to ensure a convergence between them and internationalization policies and approaches, at all levels of education. Regarding the ELT approach analyzed, the study concludes that despite the difficulties associated with the implementation of CLIL in Brazil, it represents a relevant alternative in that context.</p>

The Impact

The purpose of the current study was to explore the impact of motivation on teachers and students to use L1 in the L2 classroom. To find out an obvious understanding of this subject matter, the study focused on the 156 teachers and the 577 students who were teaching and learning English at graduation level in different public sector colleges and universities of the Southern Punjab, Pakistan. Two questionnaires were used for data collection. The data were analyzed through SPSS (statistical package for social sciences). Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, Analysis of variance (ANOVA), T-Test and Cronbach's alpha. The results of the study indicated that the learners and the teachers showed highly positive perceptions regarding the use of L1 in the L2 classroom. The majority of the respondents preferred using L1 in certain situations for specific reasons such as while learning about grammar and its usage in the L2 classroom, discussing course policies, attendance, and other administrative information, explaining some difficult concepts, to give directions about exams and in introducing the aim of the lesson, to discuss tests, quizzes, and other assignments appropriately at BS level

English is one of the important components in realizing a quality college and being an international language means the language that will be used when conducting conversations between countries or nations. To realize a quality college, STIKOM Tunas Bangsa began to impose an increase in learning English. However, this was found to be an obstacle, namely the low interest of students in learning English. In this study will be determined the factors that are the main reason for the low interest of students in learning English. Data inputted based on the results of the questionnaire with the STIKOM Tunas Bangsa case study, then processed using the Weighted Sum Model (WSM) method by determining the alternatives to be used as reference in retrieval. decisions, namely, the level of difficulty, the level of understanding, environmental factors, and the role of the lecturer. The test results show that the WSM method is able to produce factors of low student interest in learning English based on the required criteriaKeywords: English Language, Decision Support System, WSM Method, Student Interest.

This study investigated students’ perspectives about the use of smartphones in learning English language skills. It discussed the benefits and difficulties of using smartphones in the process of learning. The sample consisted of one hundred and fifty-one students enrolled in the first semester of the academic year 2019/2020 in different English courses taught at Taibah University (Badr Branch). The researcher designed a questionnaire depending on the previous studies investigated the role of smartphones in the process of teaching and learning. The participants were asked to decide at which level they agreed with each statement. The researcher analyzed data through Statistical Package for Social Sciences by applying mean scores and standard deviations. The results according to the students’ answers were positive with moderate usage of their smartphones in their attempt to learn English. Moreover, the results showed that there were no difficulties faced by students during the process of learning through smartphones.

Abstract: The development of Mass Media in the first decade of twenty first century influenced the lives of Bhutanese in various fields such as mass communication, entertainment, and teaching-learning processes. The proficiency of English language is an indispensable tool for students in the academic journey, and thus, the creative teaching-learning process of English is necessary to adopt in the classroom. Hence, this study explored the Impact of Mass Media in Teaching and Learning English in Higher Secondary Schools in Bhutan. The researcher conducted a Mixed Method Survey comprising questionnaire and interview to collect data and information from one hundred thirty five, twelfth-grade students and six English teachers from three schools under Tashigang Dzongkhag. The study used Simple Random Sampling to select the target population, which involved individuals that represent unbiased population. The study used descriptive analysis to interpret and analyze the collected data with graphical representations. The study presented the implications of Mass Media in teaching and learning English to the young minds. Further, the study recommended the use of Mass Media with accessibility and awareness to enhance the teaching and learning process of English. This exploratory case study investigates the use of flipped learning in a second language classroom at a university in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Flipped learning was researched as a possible teaching/learning strategy for this population. As this study was exploratory, a case study was chosen as the research method. Students in one class participated in the flipped learning approach for one semester. Results were triangulated through students' test scores, interviews with participants, and teacher reflections. The data showed that flipped learning was viewed positively in terms of self-efficacy, leaner autonomy, a resource for an introduction to the concept and for review. However, participants clearly indicated that flipped learning should not replace the integral role of the teacher. Finally, implications in terms of the use of the flipped learning approach in English language classes are discussed as well as recommendations for future studies.

The aim of this training is to teach English language teachers of Vocational High School/SMKN 1 Singosari Malang. The absolute role of English as a medium of communication and learning for vocational students is undeniable. Vocational High School is dedicated to produce technical worker which they are prepared to be readily working after graduated without continuing to study on college degree. By having English language as their fluent second language, alumnus will have big weapon to compete in the current bothersome job demand. Problem of teaching-learning English is the one background of this training. English Debate method is a new method in SMKN 1 which they are introduced various techniques to learn English. By this method, teachers will be talented to teach English to students actively and innovatively. The result of this training told us that English Debate is effective method to be applied on teaching-learning English especially on speaking.

The study is undertaken to understand the importance of English language skills in the Indian hospitality industry, and the gaps therein. It studies the challenge as it exists in Pune city, and how AISSMS College of Hotel Management & Catering Technology has attempted to address the issue(s). Expectation influences motivation and performance in Second Language Acquisition (SLA). Students’ expectation also plays a significant role in curriculum development. This paper focuses on the expectations of the students in an English language classroom and how they want to be taught. From a study on 45 students of Stamford University Bangladesh, the researcher tried to find students’ expectations about content, factors behind the expectations and effects of expectations in a language classroom using semi-structured interviews. It was found that students have expectations regarding their course content, teaching-learning style and education management. Several factors such as professional need, education background, social beliefs, personal goals and personality of the students worked behind their expectations and their expectations played a significant role in their classroom behavior and performance. The aim of the study was  to  analyze  and  describe  the  process of  improving students’ listening skill for eleventh grade students of MAN 1 Majene, West Sulawesi Province through  watching English movies. The subject of this research is XI Agama 2 Class that consisted of 16 students. The method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which the writer works  collaboratively with the English teacher. The results in this study indicate that there  was  improvement of the students’ skill listening. Most of the students gradually gained good scores at the end of the cycle. The data were collected from a questionnaire, observation note of performance, pre-test and post-test. The study was conducted with cycle model through the steps of planning, conducting, observation, and reflection. The results of this study show a significant relationship between students' learning by English movie with delay subtitle related to their listening skills as shown in their improvement of post- test and positive responses of students than  E nglish movie  with not delay. The questionnaire shows that more than 75% students felt easy to understand listening materials from native speakers. Consequently, it was suggested that teaching learning process using English movie with English subtitle is recommended  into  learning  process  to  improve students' listening skills in English language classroom. In conclusion, watching English movie can improve students listening skill.
