scholarly journals Oral Lesion Associated with Hypertension: A Mini Review

Background: Hypertension is a chronic condition due to the high level of blood pressure. There are 2 types of hypertension. Hypertension patients are usually consumed anti-hypertension medication to prevent the high blood pressure which can affect the damage of blood vessel in the body. The used of anti-hypertension drugs can cause the oral lesion because antihypertension drugs have several effect on oral mucosa until the dysfunction of salivary glands. Objective: to know the oral lesions that associated with hypertension. Problem Statement: The used of anti-hypertension drug in hypertension patients have side effect. The side effect can cause the oral lesion and tissue damage in oral cavity. Discussion: Cardiovascular drugs such as anti-hypertension can cause oral ulcers such as agranulocytosis and thrompositopenia with hemorrhagic bullae, peteki, ecchymosis with bleeding. Terasozin and prasozin which are anti-hypertensive drugs can inhibit the salivary glands of alpha-adrenoreceptors, causing dry mouth due to reduced saliva production. Conclusion: Hypertension has a specific role as a cause of oral lesion. The use of antihypertension drug has shown the associated with oral mucosa damage.

The syndrome of ROU is generally manifested as obvious pain, redness, and swelling of local ulceration area, accompanied by flushed face, red eyes, sore throat, and swollen gums. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) doctors believe that “yin deficiency” is one causative factor of ROU. Zhibaidihuang decoction (ZBDHD) is a prescriptively developed receipt, where Anemarrhena asphodeloides and Phellodendri amurensis Cortex are added in the original Liuweidihuang decoction. It is generally used for “yin deficiency” treatment. It can effectively reduce the recurrence of oral ulcers and release the severity of the disease. However, the mechanism of this activity remains to be elucidated. In this study, we found that ZBDHD has a certain therapeutic effect on the pathological changes of oral mucosa. Furthermore, the results of serum metabolomics showed ZBDHD influenced the synthesis and metabolism of certain fatty acids. The results of western blot, immunochemical, and immunofluorescence staining indicate that ZBDHD could increase the expression of Sirt1 and Foxp3 and suppress the expression and acetylation of NF-κB in oral mucosa cells. By screening active ingredients in ZBDHD, we found berberine, as well as other compounds, presenting high fitness of the Sirt1 reactive centre. Therefore, it is possible that ZBDHD can regulate the Sirt1-NF-κB pathway to improve fatty acids metabolism in the body, thereby achieving the effect of treating ROU.

Aim. The purpose of the article is to develop a method of comprehensive diagnostics for assessing the functional status of weightlifters. Materials and methods. The study involved 14 highly skilled weightlifters at 2 pre-competitive stages of training. The parameters of cardiovascular (heart rate, blood pressure, Gench test), central nervous (differentiation of large and small muscular efforts, statokinetic stability of the body, the speed of sensorimotor reactions), neuromuscular (muscular response threshold) systems were determined. Power capabilities of athletes were investigated. On the 3rd minute of recovery after load blood sampling for lactate analysis was carried out. Results. The results obtained show that at 1 precompetitive stage of training when special exercises are primarily used athletes demonstrate the initial symptoms of fatigue (cardiovascular system and a number of indicators of the central and neuromuscular systems) along with the high level of development of power qualities and high anaerobic capacity. When re-testing athletes during their preparation for the most important competitions provided by a versatile training program, the functional status of the body systems was considered to be high. Conclusion. A comprehensive study allows assessing the fitness of weightlifters from a systemic perspective. The use of the developed method allowed to prove new approaches to training of highly skilled weightlifters.

The author examined the correlation of blood pressure with age, height, body weight and soreness in skin folds in 152 parts of the body in 503 women. A multivariate statistical analysis allowed for the multidimensional linear equations for calculation of systolic and diastolic blood pressure by investigated parameters with high correlation coefficient and significance level. These equations include only those options that had a high level of confidence (p<0.05). Based on these data, the author has constructed two schemes skin zones in women with increased pain sensitivity, which are responsible for the increase separately systolic and diastolic blood pressure in women. Massage or physiotherapy these areas reduce them in soreness of the skin fold, leading to normalization of blood pressure. This article discusses the mechanism of increase in systolic and diastolic blood pressure in correlation with the appearance in these figures the active places of the reflex zones, which are involved in the formation of pathogenic reflexes of the autonomic nervous system. This alters the normal functioning of the cardiovascular system, resulting in an increase in systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

Abstract. In the present paper we investigate whether patients with a clinical diagnosis of burnout show physiological signs of burden across multiple physiological systems referred to as allostatic load (AL). Measures of the sympathetic-adrenergic-medullary (SAM) axis and the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis were assessed. We examined patients who had been diagnosed with burnout by their physicians (n = 32) and were also identified as burnout patients based on their score in the Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey (MBI-GS) and compared them with a nonclinical control group (n = 19) with regard to indicators of allostatic load (i.e., ambulatory ECG, nocturnal urinary catecholamines, salivary morning cortisol secretion, blood pressure, and waist-to-hip ratio [WHR]). Contrary to expectations, a higher AL index suggesting elevated load in several of the parameters of the HPA and SAM axes was found in the control group but not in the burnout group. The control group showed higher norepinephrine values, higher blood pressure, higher WHR, higher sympathovagal balance, and lower percentage of cortisol increase within the first hour after awakening as compared to the patient group. Burnout was not associated with AL. Results seem to indicate a discrepancy between self-reported burnout symptoms and psychobiological load.

Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against blood vessel walls as the heart pumps out blood, and high blood pressure, also called hypertension, is an increase in the amount of force that blood places on blood vessels as it moves through the body. Factors that can increase this force include higher blood volume due to extra fluid in the blood and blood vessels that are narrow, stiff, or clogged(1). High blood pressure can damage blood vessels in the kidneys, reducing their ability to work properly. When the force of blood flow is high, blood vessels stretch so blood flows more easily. Eventually, this stretching scars and weakens blood vessels throughout the body, including those in the kidneys.

Androgen-dependent dermopathy, as well as premenstrual syndrome of varying severity in young women, can cause emotional depression, difficulties in social adaptation and even depressive disorders. The aim of the study was to study the safety and efficacy of using a combined oral contraceptive (COC) Dimia® containing 20 μg ethinyl estradiol and 3 mg drospirenone in young women, as well as its therapeutic effects in androgen-dependent dermopathy. Materials and methods. The study included 57 young women aged 23.1±2.2 years with signs of androgen-dependent dermopathy. The evaluation of the change in the character of menstrual bleeding, the anthropometric parameters (body weight, waist circumference and hips), the therapeutic effect of the drug on the symptoms of androgen-dependent dermopathy, as well as the dynamics of arterial pressure, hemoglobin level, serum iron have been studied. The psycho-emotional state was assessed using the SAN questionnaire (well-being-activity-mood). Results. During 6 months of observation, there was no significant change in the body mass index, waist circumference, and hips, and the drug did not affect the blood pressure numbers. Against the background of taking the drug, there was an increase in the parameters of iron metabolism (hemoglobin content, serum iron). After 3 months of taking the contraceptive with drospirenone, the number of patients with a complaint about the abundance of menstruation decreased more than twofold (from 22.8 to 10.5%), and after 6 months of taking the drug no patient noted the profuse nature of menstruation. Before the start of taking COC with drospirenone, 57.9% of women reported painful menstrual bleeding. Against the background of taking the contraceptive within 3 months, this complaint was stopped in all patients. Sufficient efficacy of treatment of androgen dependent dermopathy in young women with the help of a microdosed drospirenone-containing combined oral contraceptive is estimated from the dermatological acne index. The analysis of the SAN questionnaire made it possible to reveal the improvement in the psychoemotional state of patients on the background of taking the drug. The conclusion. The results obtained proved the effectiveness and safety of the microclinized COC Dimia®. The drug has no significant effect on body weight, blood pressure, provides reliable control of the cycle and a decrease in menstrual bleeding, which results in stabilization of iron metabolism in the body. Dimia® is effective in the treatment of androgen-dependent dermopathy and can be recommended to young women for starting contraception.

Introduction. Work of locomotive crew members (engine drivers and engine driver assistants) in railway transport is associated with exposure to complex of occupational hazards including psychoemotional stress and shiftwork (with night shifts) along with noise and vibration.Objective. To study influence of shift work (with irregular alternation of day and night shifts) on biorhythms disturbances in locomotive crew workers.Materials and methods. Polls, simulators of occupational activities with training complex «Cabin of engine driver EP1M», daily monitoring of blood pressure, statistic data processing by SPSS–20 software.Results. Findings are that 953 locomotive crew workers (94%) experienced sensations of temporary disorientation, slight dizziness, sleepiness, interpreted as monotony and sensor deprivation. 61% of the examinees demonstrated frustration signs, in 30% of the cases there were certain manifestations of mental ill-being — irritability, fatigue, weariness, absent-mindedness, anxiety; 27.2% of the testees experiences various sleep disorders; 13.8% of the workers complained of «light sleep», 2% of those — restless sleep, 0.6% — sleeplessness. In occupationally related biorhythms disturbance, the body undergoes occupational adaptation, with partial transformation for atypical schedule of sleep and wakefulness.Results. To preserve health, efforts should be aimed at adaptation to shifted occupational activities with safe adaptogenic medications, low-caloric diet for individuals working at irregular shifts, create conditions for adequate physical activity of the workers between shifts. Necessities also are individual norms for blood pressure parameters in engine drivers with night shiftwork, specification of antihypertensive treatment for patients with irregular shifted work.

«Man is what he eats,» these words belong to the great Pythagoras. He meant by these words the connection of the origin of consumed food with the spiritual development of man. In fact, a lot depends on the nature of nutrition, the quality of food and, of course, on the degree of its perception by the body. Digestion process begins not in the stomach, but directly in the oral cavity as a result of mechanical processing of products with teeth and under the influence of the secretion of the salivary glands. That is why healthy teeth are the key to the normal functioning of the whole organism — people should start taking care of their teeth from the early childhood and dentists, who are far from being beloved by everybody and are often carelessly evaded, are called upon to help keep the teeth healthy.
