The agricultural sector is the main pillar of economic development in Indonesia because Indonesia almost all economic activities centered on the sector. Processing of agricultural or agro-industry is the agricultural product processing business for the purpose of increasing the value of the product. Pekanbaru city produces one of the agricultural products that manioc. The highest production of cassava in Sub Tenayan Raya in Pekanbaru, namely 11 210 tonnes (Pekanbaru in number 2015). In connection with this condition, this study aims to analyze costs and revenues, Break Even Point (BEP), profit planning as well as the added value generated by the agro-industry critic's capable of cassava in Kulim Tenayan Raya Pekanbaru. It can be concluded:1.The cost of agro-industrial production processes cassava chips "SUGENG SNACK" In December 2016 flavors Balado is Rp. 40,822,557.40, original flavors Rp. 40,822,557.40 and chilli chips (Sanjai) Rp. 22,777,250.00. Net revenue cassava chips flavors Balado is Rp. 12,681,442.60, or Rp. 5,214 / Kg; Rp original flavors. 11,565,426.00 or USD. 6763 / Kg; and crispy chilli (Sanjai) Rp. 5,613,570.00. or Rp.6577,-/Kg2.Value BEP (Q) agroindustrial cassava chips "SUGENG SNACK" In December 2016 flavors Balado is 145.88 kg, 85.26 Kg variants of the original flavor and crispy chilli (Sanjai) 48,45Kg. Total sales to achieve profit Rp.20.000.000, - for each variant flavors, flavors Kg Balado is 3751.34, 2894.91 Kg variants of the original flavor, and crispy chilli (Sanjai) 2922.03 Kg.3.Value-added agro-industry cassava chips "SUGENG SNACK" In December 2016, flavors Balado is the output value of Rp. 8360, - provide added value for Rp.5.757, - or by 68.86%, flavors original output value of Rp. 8360, - provide added value amounting to Rp. 5627, - or by 67.3%., And crispy chilli (Sanjai) output value amounted to Rp.12.768, - provide added value amounting to Rp. 9675, - or a total of 75.776%.

Business Process Analysis can be used to eliminate or reduce a waste cost caused by non value added activities that exist in a process. This research aims at evaluating activities carried out in the natural material procurement process in the PT XYZ, calculating the effectiveness of the process cycle, finding a way to improve the process management, and calculating the cost reduction that can achieved by activity management. A case study was the approach of this research. The researcher obtained research data throughout deep interviews with the staff who directly involved in the process, observation, and documentation of natural material procurement. The result of this study show that the effectiveness of the process cycle of natural material procurement in the factory reached as much as 87,1% for the sand material and 72% for the crushed stone. This indicates that the process still carry activities with no added value and still contain ineffective costs. Through the Business Process Mechanism, these non value added activities can be managed so that the process cycle becomes more efficient and cost effectiveness is achieved. The result of the effective cycle calculation after the management activities implementation is 100%. This means that the cost of natural material procurement process has become effective. The result of calculation of the estimated cost reduction as a result of management activity is as much as Rp249.026.635,90 per year.

The aim of this research was to analyze and calculates the income, added-value, and break even point of agroindustry that processing bananas into banana crackers and salai. Methods of data collection in this research were using observation and interviews. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, qualitative and quantitative, for the value-added, income, Break Even Point (BEP) and Revenue Cost ratio (R/C). The results shown that the average of value added per kilograms for Salai Rp. 4.371,37, sweet and salted banana crackers   are Rp 2.944,00 and Rp 3.627,90. The income of salai, sweet and salted banana crackers per year’s are Rp. 29.566.251,-, Rp. 18.437.067, 96,- and Rp. 20.286.567,-.  The average of BEP per month’s for salai is salai Rp. 1.415.636, sweet and salted banana crackers are Rp. 988.966, and Rp.781.352. The Average of BEP, units or packs per month’s for salai is 145 packs, sweet banana crackers were 124 packs and salted were 98 packs. R/C of Salai was 1.66, sweet banana crackers were 1.49 and salted was 1.71. Added-value of banana Salai Rp. 743, 47 more than salted banana crackers, amounted to 1.471,37 compared to sweet banana crackers. Banana salai income greater Rp. 9.279.684 than salted banana crackers, amounting to Rp. 11.129.183 compared to sweet banana crackers.Keywords: Value Added, Income, Banana crackers, Salai, Break Even Point

Resumo: Neste estudo teve-se por objetivo analisar a relação do valor adicionado das principais atividades econômicas (agropecuária, indústria, serviços e administração pública) relativamente ao Produto Interno Bruto (PIB) do Rio Grande do Norte, durante o período de 2010 a 2013. Nesse sentido, foram coletados dados relativos ao valor adicionado, ao PIB e à população no sítio do Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE), bem como referentes ao Índice Firjan de Desenvolvimento Municipal (IFDM), por meio do sítio do Sistema Firjan. A amostra compreendeu 166 municípios, de uma totalidade de 167. Para a realização das análises, além da estatística descritiva, foi estimado um modelo de regressão por mínimos quadrados ordinários com dados dispostos em painel, tendo o PIB como variável dependente e as demais variáveis como independentes. Com base nos resultados encontrados, verifica-se que os valores adicionados pelas atividades econômicas apresentam relação positiva e estatisticamente significante, enquanto que as variáveis população e IFDM se relacionam de forma negativa, trazendo à tona questionamentos sobre a distribuição de renda, as políticas socioeconômicas relativas à transição demográfica e a diferença dos conceitos de crescimento e desenvolvimento econômico, corroborando para a hipótese de que o PIB não mede qualidade de vida. Por fim, a partir dos resultados mensurados, conclui-se que os valores adicionados pelas atividades econômicas do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte possuem relação estatisticamente significante com o PIB no período investigado.Palavras-chave: Produto Interno Bruto. Rio Grande do Norte. Relationship between the added value of the economic activities and the Gross Domestic Product of Rio Grande do Norte Abstract: The study aims to analyze the relation of the value added of the main economic activities (agriculture, industry, services and public administration) regarding the Gross Domestic Product of Rio Grande do Norte during the period from 2010 to 2013. In this sense, data on value added, GDP and population were collected on the website of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), as well as on the Firjan Municipal Development Index (IFDM), through the Firjan System website. The sample comprised 166 municipalities, out of a total of 167. In addition to the descriptive statistics, a regression model was estimated by ordinary least squares with data arranged in a panel, with GDP as a dependent variable and the other variables as independently. Based on the results found, it can be seen that the values added by economic activities have a positive and statistically significant relationship, while the variables population and IFDM were related in a negative way, raising questions about income distribution, socioeconomic policies related to the demographic transition and the difference of the concepts of growth and economic development, corroborating the hypothesis that GDP does not measure quality of life. Finally, from the results measured, it can be concluded that the added values by the economic activities of the State of Rio Grande do Norte have a statistically significant relation with the GDP in the period investigated.Keywords: Gross Domestic Product. Abstract The agricultural industries generate lignocellulosic wastes that can be modified by fungi to generate high value-added products. The aim of this work was to analyze the efficiency of the bioconversion of sugarcane bagasse and cassava bagasse using two cheap home-made enzymatic cocktails from Aspergillus niger LBM 134 (produced also from agroindustrial wastes) and compare the hydrolysis yield with that obtained from the bioconversion using commercial enzymes. Sugarcane bagasse and cassava bagasse were pretreated with a soft alkaline solution before the hydrolysis carried out with home-made enzymatic cocktails of A. niger LBM 134 and with commercial enzymes to compare their performances. Mono and polysaccharides were analyzed before and after the bioconversion of both bagasses as well as their microscopic structure. The maximal yield was the 80% of total glucans saccharified from cassava bagasse. The bioconversion of both bagasses were better when we used the home-made enzymatic cocktails than commercial enzymes. We obtained high added-value products from agroindustrial wastes, home-made enzymatic cocktails and hydrolysates rich in fermentable sugars. The importance of this work lays in the higher performance of the cheap home-made enzymatic cocktails over the hydrolytic performance of commercial enzymes due to the cost of producing the home-made enzymatic cocktails were more than 500 times lower than commercial enzymes.

In the context of countries integration into the world economic space, agricultural sector is one of the priorities and strategically important sectors of the national economy. Development of instruments aimed to increase investment potential of this sector is therefore an important component of the country’s economy growth. The article proposes a science-based model of the impact of the agricultural sector on the economic development level of countries trying to move towards European integration.It was found that the employment rate (+58.4) has the largest influence on the rate of GDP change in the studied group of countries (Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia). The impact of the gross value added of the manufacturing sector on its economic growth is positive (+44.6). The negative foreign direct investment ratio in the model (–40.3) may be due to the fact that the indicator in the studied countries is still largely influenced by the intervention of the state mechanism, significant uncertainty and risk, which is a deterrent to the overall economic development. An important result of the study was that foreign direct investment had a negative impact on economic growth in developing countries. Further development of the investment potential of a country’s agricultural sector provides for a radical acceleration of scientific and technological progress and, on this basis, a reduction in the cost of a unit of agricultural products and food and an increase in their competitiveness in the domestic and world markets.

Agricultural commodities are generally produced as raw materials and are easily damaged, so they need to be directly consumed or processed first. The processing can increase the added value of agricultural products. The purpose of this study was to determine the cost, revenue, profit, efficiency, and value added of melinjo chips industry in Industrial Center at  Bandar Village Sukomoro District Magetan Regency. The basic method of research used is descriptive analytical method. The determination of the sample area is purpossive which is Bandar Village Sukomoro District Magetan Regency because those village is the center of the melinjo chips industry in Magetan Regency. The respondents are found and gathered by using the proportional method and the respondents are found gathered simple random sampling method. The result of this research shows that total average cost spent by those industrialists in Bandar village is Rp5.816.109,00 per month. The average revenue for each of them is Rp7.826.667,00  per month and the profit is Rp2.010.492,00 per month. The running of melinjo chips industries is efficient. It can be known by efficiency value (R/C ratio) 1,42. The business of melinjo chips in Bandar Village, Sukomoro District, Magetan Regency provides added value of Rp. 8,645.00 / kg

Abstract This study aims to determine the added value and cost-efficiency of the effervescent lemongrass bath salt and formulate a strategic design for developing the effervescent lemongrass bath salt. The research was conducted in Sampang District, East Java, Indonesia, using the purposive sampling method. The value-added of the effervescent was calculated, the cost-efficiency was considered using the R / C ratio analysis, while the development strategy used the SWOT method. The calculated added value obtained shows a positive result. The value of the R / C ratio was 1.836. Based on the results of the analysis of the internal strategy factors, the IFAS value was 3.425, and the results of the study of the external strategic factors obtained an EFAS value of 2.658. This value places the effervescent lemongrass bath salt in the growth-oriented strategy.

Trends in Labour Productivity in the Bulgarian Mining Industry The paper summarizes the trends in the labour productivity index of the world, European (EU-28) and Bulgarian economies for the 2000-2019 period. It represents a prediction of the International Labour Organization for its development until 2024. The changes in the labour productivity of Bulgaria and the “Industry” sector are examined for the indicated period. They are determined on the basis of current prices and of 2015 prices per employee and per hour worked. The tendencies in the change of the labour productivity for the “Mining and Quarrying“ sub-sector for the 2008-2018 period are described, based on the operating income per employee and on the value added at factor cost per employee, and some conclusions are drawn. Comparison of the realized labour productivity in almost all economic activities in Bulgaria for 2018 is presented.

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui distribusi nilai tambah di antara tiga stakeholder utama pada usaha budidaya rumput laut di Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT), yaitu pembudidaya, pedagang dan industri rumput laut telah dilakukan. Data kualitatif dan kuantitatif diperoleh lewat survei, observasi langsung, wawancara dan diskusi kelompok (Focus Group Discussion, FGD). Sampel/unit usaha budidaya rumput laut diambil secara representative dan purposive. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis secara deskriptif disertai perhitungan Pay Back Period (PBP), Break Even Point (BEP) dan Benefit Cost ratio (B/C). Hasil menunjukkan nilai PBP = 0,72 yang berarti unit usaha dapat mengembalikan modal dalam 8 bulan. Nilai BEP per unit usaha budidaya rumput laut sebesar Rp. 3.435,77 dan BEP produksi sebesar 2.007,50 kg. Nilai B/C ratio 1.09 menunjukkan bahwa usaha rumput laut di lokasi study layak dilaksanakan. Nilai tambah pada pembudidaya sebesar Rp 3.575/kg, pedagang sebesar Rp 2.175/kg dan industri rumput laut sebesar Rp 41.000/kg. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan kesimpulan bahwa pada tingkat kelayakan usaha budidaya rumput laut di NTT dewasa ini, nilai tambah tertinggi dinikmati oleh industri pengolahan rumput laut, diikuti pembudidaya dan pedagang.AbstractThis study aims to determine the distribution of value added among the three main stakeholders in seaweed farming in the Province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), namely the farmers, traders and seaweed industries. The study applied a qualitative and quantitative method through a survey, direct observation, and interviews. Data were representatively and purposively collected. The study used descriptive analysis, focus group discussion, and simple mathematics. Results showed that payback period was 0.72 meaning that the investment could be returned in 8 months; break-even point (BEP) per seaweed culture business unit was IDR. 3,435.77; the break-even point of production was 2,007.50 kg; benefit-cost (B/C) was 1.09 meaning that the seaweed culture was feasible to do. There were 3 successive seaweed marketing channels such as producer, collector, merchant, manufacturer, consumer, or direct delivery from producers to consumers, producer to collecting merchant, big merchant to the consumer. The added value was IDR. 3,575/kg for the seaweed farmer, IDR. 2,175/kg for big merchant, and IDR. 41,000/kg for seaweed industry.
