In recent decades there have been many disputes about the viability of Russian education. Supporters of radical changes argue that it is ineffective in the new conditions of the global transition to digital. Schools and universities are intimidated by a generation of “zetas” who “do not succumb” to standard approaches, spending most of their free time online, with clip thinking, inability to concentrate for a long time, and other difficulties and peculiarities. Opponents of digitalization are trying to protect teenagers from unlimited use of gadgets. There are discussions about how to use digital devices wisely and without harming their health. In the spring of 2020 the situation develops in such a way that the “harm” from the long-term communication of young people with gadgets becomes incomparable with the possibility of stopping the learning process. Educational institutions are urgently moving to work in a remote format. In the course of this situation, this is the only way out. The transition reveals many problems that, if possible, are solved during the process. It becomes obvious that it is impossible to use distance learning as the only possible format of work. What the future will be like depends on many factors. Will it remain universal with a sign of quality of traditional Russian education or will it undergo a radical transformation? Employers rely on creative employees who are efficient in multitasking and capable of continuous self-education throughout their lives. The concept of life-long learning continues to be a trend, without giving up its positions. The purpose of this article is to find out whether the new generation of young people is so different that all approaches of the traditional education system are broken down about their “armor”. Or under the flag of Generation Z the idea of a radical transition to a completely new education is being promoted.

In the light of the growing technological revolution, the question of the viability of traditional education has become more acute. They try to persuade the proponents of digital transformation that it is inefficient in the new conditions. Schools and universities are intimidated by the generation Z which is "non-compliant" with standard approaches. They spend most of their free time online, have a clip way of thinking and are unable to concentrate their attention on something for a long time. Opponents of digitalization try to protect teenagers from unlimited use of gadgets. Issues about reasonable use of digital devices which do not harm their health are widely discussed. But in the spring of 2020, there arose such a situation that the harm from using gadgets by teenagers could not be compared to the possibility of the learning process breakdown. Educational institutions are urgently switched to distance learning. The transition revealed many problems, some of which were being solved in the course of the working process. It becomes obvious that distance learning cannot be used as the only possible format of work. The future of education depends on many factors. Will it remain universal with the quality mark of traditional education, or will it undergo a radical transformation? The purpose of this article is to find out whether the new generation of young people is so different that all the approaches of the traditional education system are smashed against its “armor”. Or, under the banner of the generation Z, the idea of a radical transition to a completely new education is being promoted.

Modern children are unfamiliar with the world without a comprehensive flow of information. They live in a "clip culture". They are surrounded by information and do not know how to study it deeply, but instead cover it widely. Educational institutions state that children have begun to lose interest and motivation to learn. This problem has become global. Our study aimed to determine whether the Generation Z interests in relation to their parents' interests have decreased and whether this decreases motivation to study. Online focus testing of two focus groups of 18 people. One group represents Generation Z, and the other - Generation Y. We used the interview method based on Filimonova O. modification of the "Map of Interests" questionnaire. Analyzing the results, we found, first, that the current generation is interested in more fields of activity than the previous (last ranked area of activity today has 33% of followers, in contrast to the past 17%). Secondly, we divided the obtained data into three groups - unchanged interests, decreased interests, and increased interests. Information technologies appeared in the last group. Third, the motivation to learn has not diminished, but the approach to learning has changed. All this leads to the conclusion that the education system must adapt to the needs of ways to obtain knowledge of the new generation. Our research shows that children's lack of knowledge is caused not by their low interest in activities, but by the incorrectly constructed educational process, namely, without considering their "digital" specifics. That is, we observe a transformation of interests rather than the motivation of Generation Z.

The dynamics of several demographic indicators of Russia - child and teenage cohorts in 1970-2000, life expectancy in 1995-2000, migration flows among federal districts in the period between two censuses of 1989 and 2002 - are considered in the article. The author puts forward the hypothesis about the influence of these indicators on the level of education in narrow and broad senses - in educational institutions and the society as a whole. He estimates the perspectives of regional higher educational institutions under conditions of absence of plan distribution of graduates and the double cyclical fall in the number of high school graduates. The agenda for the development of a two-stage system of higher education corresponding with international integration processes is formulated.

Adolescence involves significant developmental changes and challenges including heightened body image concerns. However, there is limited research on adaptive ways of responding to perceived threats to body image. This study uses body image flexibility, derived from contextual behavioral perspectives, and coping theories to explore young people’s responses to body image threats. High school and university students (12 male, 15 female) aged 12 to 24 years were recruited from educational institutions in a metropolitan area of Australia. Thematic analysis of semistructured interviews identified themes related to body image threats from internal and external sources. In response to these threats, young people reported coping by changing the content of, and how they related to, perceived threats, and seeking social support. In addition, young people viewed coping as a dynamic process that changed over time and across situations. Reported processes of attending to, and allowing, momentary negative experiences and connecting with other important life domains were consistent with body image flexibility. The coping context affected the selection of coping strategies, with body image flexibility facilitating more adaptive coping for some participants. Further investigation of contextual behavioral approaches, such as body image flexibility, could help to better understand and promote adaptive body image coping in youth.
