In this paper, we focused on the mediation of the research results of using weblogs as a form of supplement to traditional teaching in the classroom and their influence on the development of business writing skills. The aim of the research was to prove that the weblog had an impact on improving the business writing skills and on the motivation of students to devote themselves to write contributions in a foreign language at an increased rate. In the research, we used quantitative research methods such as experiment, pre-test, post-test, and research instrument questionnaire. The research was carried at the University of Economics in Bratislava and 60 respondents took part in the experiment. Through the pre-test and post-test, we found out to what extent were the business writing skills of the respondents of the experimental group influenced by the use of weblogs in teaching business English. We used the student test to analyse the data obtained. The results confirmed that the use of the weblog in teaching business English had an impact on the development of business writing skills. We used the questionnaire to collect data in survey research aimed at finding out to what extent the use of the weblog affected the motivation of respondents to write to a greater extent in a foreign language. The analysis of the responses confirmed that the respondents perceived the weblog as a new, non-traditional form of the supplement to traditional teaching, which had an impact on their motivation to devote themselves more to write in a foreign language. Research has confirmed that the weblog, as one of the tools of Web 2.0, has a positive impact on the development of business writing skills.

Background and Hypothesis: At the graduate and professional level, computer-aided instruction demonstrated a positive impact on knowledge gains when supplementing traditional teaching methods (Wilson et al). The present research sought to determine the efficacy of supplementing traditional pedagogical methods in an undergraduate anatomy lab with VH Dissector Software (VHD) on a large touchscreen terminal. Experimental Design or Project Methods: Throughout Basic Human Anatomy (ANAT-A215), students took a pre-quiz before covering a topic followed by a post-quiz in the next class. Using VHD was the intervention, while using the traditional lab manual, models, and two prosected cadavers was the control. The mean difference between pre-test and post-test scores was calculated. Independent Samples T Tests compared the mean difference between intervention and control groups. Post-course surveys were obtained. Calculations were made of frequencies for each question and Spearman Rho correlations between questions. Results: There was significant improvement in scores with the intervention (versus control) in the Spring 2019 semester (Meanintervention = 1.13, Meancontrol = 0.92, P <0.01). In the post-course survey, 54.1% of students indicated that they would not recommend using VHD in future semesters. Among these students, 50.1% stated they did not find VHD beneficial, 34% stated VHD helped to rotate structures, and 23.4% stated VHD was a change of pace from other lab responsibilities. Among the students that recommend using VHD, 64.8% stated VHD helped to rotate structures, 51.4% stated VHD provided context for what they saw on models, and 48.9% stated that VHD was a change of pace from other lab responsibilities. A significant correlation was found between enjoying use of the VHD and perception of learning using VHD (r = 0.794, P <0.01) Conclusion and Potential Impact: These results indicate a benefit to supplementing traditional anatomy learning modalities with dissection software at the undergraduate level. Yet, while students recognize a benefit, they often recommended not using the tech in future semesters.

The purpose of this work is to examine the issue of pre-service science teachers’ (PSST) Geogebra applications on misconceptions about projectile motion (PM) and the permanence of learning concepts. In this study, quantitative research method was used as scientific research method, and semi-experimental design with pre-test, post-test control group was used as a pattern. The accessible population of this study is PSST who study in a university located in Kayseri, Turkey in the 2019-2020 academic year. Sample of the study included 36 freshman PSST, studying at the university level in Kayseri. 18 of the participants are experimental-group (EG) and 18 of them are control-group (CG). Both groups learned the subject of projectile motion (PM) together in the classroom. In addition to the traditional teaching method, the EG participated eight-week in the Geogebra course based on the conceptual change model and prepared physics simulations with Geogebra. “Conceptual Questions on Projectile Motion” was used as a data collection tool and the data were analyzed by means of statistics (t-test) based on the difference between averages. The results revealed that both the post-test’s and permanence test’s mean scores of the EG PSST were significantly higher than the mean score of the CG PSST (post-test: t=2.525; p< .05) (permanence test: t=5.466; p< .05). Furthermore, in this study, many misconceptions about the PM were identified.
