The teacher needs to increase skills and knowledge of independence as a form of self-development that can be obtained through training. Training is one of the effective methods in a short time that has a positive impact. The principles in the training include participation, repetition, relevance, transference and feedback. This research aims to describe the implementation of training activities to make questions for SDN 1 Kuluran teachers and to find out the effectiveness of the training on the skills of making questions for SDN 1 Kuluran teachers. This type of research was a semi-descriptive quantitative research. The populations in this study were all teachers of SDN 1 Kuluran, consisting of 12 people. The data analysis used in this study was the T test. The test used the SPSS 21 application. The results of the study show that the training stages include introduction, connection, application, reflection and extension. Some points that must be considered in research are preparation, allocation and time consistency, participant activity (speaker as facilitator), and a conducive environment. The significance value obtained based on the results of the pretest and post test is 0.00 <0.05, which means that the training is effective in the skills of making questions of teachers at SD Kuluran.

This research is to know is there is significant effect in reading comprehension achievement in X grade at SMK Walisongo 1 Gempol, being taught by suggestopedia method. This research uses quantitative research. The research’s object is X AK-2 of SMK Walisongo 1 Gempol has 28 students. The researcher divides the main activity into pre-test, treatment and post-test. Based on the SPSS 23 Program calculation from mean result of pre-test 70.1 and the result mean of post-test is 83.5. The students’ score is increasing after being given by the treatment. The result of the calculation of this research showed that (sig 2-tailed = 0.002) which is less from (<) 0.05 and significance 5%. It mean that the alternative hypothesis is accepted and the null hypothesis is rejected. From the result of the data analysis above, the use suggestopedia method gives significant effect in students’ reading comprehension achievement This article investigates major points of the speech verbs. On this case, different meaning of verbs was analyzed from Russian into English.  Therefore, analyses of the theory with methodology were described to make better diffusion. To conclude with both outcomes and shortcomings were outlined to get further analyses as the whole.

In this paper, we focused on the mediation of the research results of using weblogs as a form of supplement to traditional teaching in the classroom and their influence on the development of business writing skills. The aim of the research was to prove that the weblog had an impact on improving the business writing skills and on the motivation of students to devote themselves to write contributions in a foreign language at an increased rate. In the research, we used quantitative research methods such as experiment, pre-test, post-test, and research instrument questionnaire. The research was carried at the University of Economics in Bratislava and 60 respondents took part in the experiment. Through the pre-test and post-test, we found out to what extent were the business writing skills of the respondents of the experimental group influenced by the use of weblogs in teaching business English. We used the student test to analyse the data obtained. The results confirmed that the use of the weblog in teaching business English had an impact on the development of business writing skills. We used the questionnaire to collect data in survey research aimed at finding out to what extent the use of the weblog affected the motivation of respondents to write to a greater extent in a foreign language. The analysis of the responses confirmed that the respondents perceived the weblog as a new, non-traditional form of the supplement to traditional teaching, which had an impact on their motivation to devote themselves more to write in a foreign language. Research has confirmed that the weblog, as one of the tools of Web 2.0, has a positive impact on the development of business writing skills.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, learning is no longer undertaken offline (outside the network) but online (in the network). This condition demands the informative and communicative media for learning activities. One of the media that can be directly interacting with students is learning video. The teacher needs to conduct a needs analysis to ensure the use of learning videos, especially those based on Explaindio. The research was conducted in a correlational quantitative approach. The action research was undertaken at SMA Negeri 4 Pekanbaru with a sample of 36 students. The data collected from the questionnaire consisted of 10 items. Data analysis by substituting respondents’ results through descriptive statistics, Product Moment correlation, and t-test. The results of the analysis indicated that the importance of utilizing meaningful videos to meet the learning needs of students. Learning videos based on Explaindio provide space for teachers to design videos in accordance with their needs. Complete and communicative learning videos can provide meaningful information and experiences to students so that they have a positive impact on student learning progress.

  Penelitian kuantitatif ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh bermain play dough terhadap kreativitas membentuk geometri anak pada Kelompok B di RA As-Syuhada’ Pedurungan Semarang Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dalam bentuk Pre Experiment Desain dengan desain yang digunakan adalah One Group Pre-Test And Post-Test Design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa RA As-Syuhada Pedurungan Semarang Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017. Sampel yang diambil terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelompok B1 berjumlah 20 anak dan kelompok B2 berjumlah 20 anak. Peneliti menggunakan teknik Non-probability sampling dengan jenis sampling purposive. Tekhnik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini berupa dokumentasi dan observasi. Hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh bermain play dough terhadap kreativitas membentuk geometri anak pada kelompok B di RA As-Syuhada’ Pedurungan Semarang Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017. Hal tersebut dapat diketahui dari perolehan  14t hitung">  7,66 > 14ttabel"> 1,729 dan meningkatnya rata-rata kreativitas membentuk geometri anak, sebelum perlakuan 51,3 menjadi 69,8 sesudah perlakuan. Kelompok eksperimen mengalami peningkatan sebesar 18,5%.Kata Kunci : Kreativitas Membentuk Geometri Anak, Bermain Play DoughThis quantitative research aims to find out how much influence play dough play on creativity to form the geometry of children in Group B in RA As-Syuhada' Pedurungan Semarang Academic Year 2016/2017. This type of research is quantitative research in the form of Pre Experiment Design with the design used is One Group Pre-Test And Post-Test Design. The study population is all students of RA As-Syuhada’ Pedurungan Semarang Academic Year 2016/2017. Samples taken consisted of two classes namely group B1 amounted to 20 children and group B2 amounted to 20 children. The researcher used Non-probability sampling technique with purposive sampling type. Technique of collecting data in this research in the form of documentation and observation. The result of data analysis can be concluded that there is influence of play dough to creativity to form child geometry in group B in RA As-Syuhada’ Pedurungan Semarang Academic Year 2016/2017. It can be known from the acquisition of t calculate 7,66> ttable 1,729 and the increase of creativity mean to form child geometry, before treatment 51,3 become 69,8 after treatment. The experimental group experienced an increase of 18.5%.Keywords: Creativity Shaping Child Geometry, Play Dough

This study was focused on the effect of using collaborative writing on students’ achievement in writing recount text. The objective of this research was to find out the significant effect of collaborative writing on students’ achievement in writing recount text at students grade ten in SMK YP 1 HKBP Pematangsiantar. Two classes was taken as the sample of this research. The class X-MP as the experimental group that taught by using collaborative writing and X-MM as the control class taught by conventional method. This research design is quantitative research were gained by assessing the students’ writing skills through the pretest and posttest. The instrument of collecting data was writing test. After collecting data, it was found the main score of pretest to post test in experimental group was 48.47 to 89,647. The data were analyzed by using t-test formula. The result showed that the t-test is higher than the value of t-table. (5. 68 > 1.69 (α = 0.05)) with the degree of freedom (df) = 32. Based on the data analysis of the study, the result indicates that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. It means that there is a significant effect of using Collaborative writing on students’ achievement in writing recount text of students grade ten in SMK YP1 HKBP Pematangsiantar.

The main pupose of this study is to find out the effectiveness of close reading technique.  The research method used is quantitative research, or more specifically the one group pre-test post-test design. The sample of this study is eighth grade students of SMPS PGRI Warungkondang consist of 20 students. Data analysis indicates the mean scores between pre-test and post-test is 22, the tobs is 1.72  with the degrees of freedom (df) 19 and level of significance at 0.05 is 2.59. Based on data analysis the close reading technique has significant influence to improve students’ reading comprehension. Therefore, this technique is considered as a suitable technique for teacher as the strategy for teaching English.

This research entitled the effectiveness of extensive reading approach has a purpose to figure out the effectiveness of extensive reading approach to improve students’ reading comprehension. The subject of this research is students of SMK Al-Irsyad Cipanas. The sample of this research consists 20 of the eleventh grade students of AP class. The research uses quantitative research, or more specifically the one group pre-test post-test design as research design. To collect the data, this research applies pre-test and post-test as the instrument. The result of data is obtained by using t-test formula.  The result showed that students who learning using extensive reading approach had better reading ability to comprehend the text. The result of tobs is 2.08, the ttable with degrees of freedom (df) 19 and level of significance at 0.05 was 1,72. Based on the data analysis, the alternative hypothesis in this research was accepted because tobs is higher than ttable (2.08 > 1.72). Based on the data analysis, it is found that the test is reliable. The findings indicated that learning using extensive reading approach is significantly affected the students’ reading comprehension. Therefore, the extensive reading is suitable for improving students’ reading comprehension and it is also a strategy that can be used by teacher for making learning process to be more effective.

The aim of this article is to investigate the perceptions of university students on the use of edutainment in promoting Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in English as a second language (ESL) writing. 20 diploma students from Malaysia University of Science &amp; Technology (MUST) participated in this study. This study adopts quantitative research design where a set of questionnaires was distributed to the students. Before answering the questionnaire, the students went through a treatment using edutainment. They had to play an online game downloaded from Play Store. They spent 13 weeks playing the game. At the end of the treatment, they had to sit for the post test. Then they were asked to complete the questionnaire. This study is in bringing positive impact to the society starting from the ministry to the students regarding the importance of the edutainment implementation in classroom teaching. The findings reveal that the students perceived that Edutainment has affected the stimulation of higher order thinking skills in their writing. This suggests that edutainment should be incorporated in the teaching and learning English.

Making Classroom Action Research (CAR) for teachers at SD, Barabai District, Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency, South Kalimantan. The methods used in this research are lectures, discussions, and training which are carried out through webinars using the Zoom application. The community service participants are 36 teachers from elementary schools in Barabai District, Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency. The training activities went well and received positive responses from the teachers. This activity has a positive impact on the ability of teachers in terms of knowledge and self-development related to making CAR.
