This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). Numbered Head Together (NHT) was used as the technique to improve students’ reading comprehension which was conducted in two cycles. The subject of this research were the tenth grade students of social 3 class in SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Kakap in the academic year of 2017/2018. The class consisted of 35 students. The data collection used observation and measurement technique. The results showed that Numbered Head Together (NHT) technique could improve students’ ability in reading comprehension. Moreover, it could influence the students’ attention, and also motivated them in learning activities as the result of the groups’ discussion. Through the use of Numbered Head Together (NHT) technique, the students were able to participate in teaching learning process. They became serious in listening to the teacher’s explanations and worked cooperatively with their friends in each group. They were also more active, enthusiastic, and more confident in following class activities which resulted on the better atmosphere of the classroom that was more enjoyable and alive. Keywords:Reading Comprehension, Numbered Head Together and Classroom Action Research

<p>This research was purposed to find out how the use of structural analysis improve the reading comprehension of E class second semester students of Business English and Management Major Tonggak Equator Polytechnic in the academic year 2017-2018 and how significant does the use of structural analysis improve the reading comprehension of E class second semester students of Business English and Management Major Tonggak Equator Polytechnic in academic year 2017-2018. This research was classroom action research which was set out in two cycles, they are the first and second cycle. The subject of this research was E class second semester students of Business English and Management Concentration of Tonggak Equator Polytechnic in the academic year 2017-2018. Field note and test were used in collecting the data. The test consists of pre-test and progress-test. The data of the students' pre-test and progress-test score were analyzed by using the mean score and the data of the observation by using field note was analyzed descriptively. The finding of the research was structural analysis positively improved the reading comprehension of E class second semester students of Business English and Management Major Tonggak Equator Polytechnic in academic year 2017-2018 within two cycles, and the significance of the use of structural analysis in improving the reading comprehension of E class second semester students of Business English and Management Major Tonggak Equator Polytechnic in academic year 2017-2018 could be seen based on the test given they were 64 for the pre-test, 71.6 for the first progress-test and 83.4 for the second progress-test, and from the field note, that the students looked tired, sleepy, looked for answer from student beside them and could not finish the test by the time given by the researcher in the first cycle but have significant progress in the second cycle that the students looked more relax in doing the test and could finish the test by the time given by the researcher.<br />Keywords: reading comprehension, structural analysis, classroom action research.</p>

The study aims to determine the improvement of metacognitive skills and learning activities of students through a learning model talking stick. Classroom action research is done in SMPN 1 Balerejo. Data collection techniques metacognitive skills and learning activities using observation sheet . Results of the first cycle study metacognitive skills 44,22. Results of the first cycle of study learning activities 40,3. Results of the second cycle study metacognitive skills 84,74. Results of second cycle studies 82,62. Conclusion there is an increase in metacognitive skills and learning activities of students through the application of learning models talking stick on the subject matter density of population on the environment SMPN1 Balerejo academic year 2014/2015 .

This study is intended to answer the problem in what way does the cooperative script improvement of students’ Reading Comprehension to the Eighth Grade Students’ of SMP Negeri Medan Jaya in the academic year 2016/2017. This study is classroom action research. The tools of data collection used observation, interview and test. On the first cycle the researcher used cooperative script to improve the students’ ability in comprehending on information of descriptive text about animal. The result of this research showed that the students ability in comprehending a descriptive text improved after applied the cooperative script. With this activity, students had more practice in reading. Besides, during the reading process students were active in asked and answered questions, this method also guide students to summarize the information of the passage. Consequently, the method successfully improved the students’ ability in reading comprehension of descriptive text.

Improving The Students’ Reading Comprehension Through Know-Want-Learn Strategy at the first-grade students of SMA Negeri 18 Makassar. The objective of this research was intended to explain the improvement of the students’ interpretative and literal reading comprehension through Know-Want-Learn Strategy at the first-grade students of SMA Negeri 18 Makassar especially in class X 3. The strategy of this research was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisted of two cycles, one cycle consisted of four meetings. It means that there were eight meetings for two cycles. This classroom action research was done at the first-grade students of SMA Negeri 18 Makassar in Daya Regency for English subject. As the subject in this research was class X 3 in the 2012-2013 academic year with students’ number of about 32 students. Those consist of  22 women and 10 men. The instrument of this research was observation sheet and reading test or evaluation. The findings of the research were students achievement in reading comprehension was 54,07 in D-test, then Cycle I is 69,07 and it becomes 73,81 in Cycle II. The students'  activeness in learning reading comprehension in the first meeting of Cycle I was 45,39% then it becomes 90,78% in the fourth meeting of Cycle II.Keyword: Improving, reading, know, want, learn, strategy.

The purpose of this study was  improving the process of learning to write poetry of the students of class VII C SMP Negeri 2 Singkawang in academic year 2016/2017. This research was conducted using classroom action research through 2 cycles, each cycle consists of four stages of planning, actuating, observation, and reflection. Data sources were obtained from learning activities, information from Indonesian language teachers and documents. Data collection used observation, interviews and tests. The research instrument was applied to measure the skill of writing poetry of the students which consisted of the unity of the dictionand the theme, event and the lines of poetry. The conclusion of this research showed that the use of image media in learning to write poetry of students of class VII C SMPN 2 Singkawang was able to improve students' ability in learning of writing poetry. This could be seen from the increasement of predetermined indicators. Percentage of attention and concentration of students during apperception andlearning writing poetry  had increased significantly at the time.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan proses pembelajaran menulis puisi pada siswa kelas VII C SMP Negeri 2 Singkawang tahun ajaran 2016 / 2017. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan melalui 2 siklus, masing-masing siklus terdiri dari 4 tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Sumber data diperoleh dari kegiatan pembelajaran, informasi dari gur Bahasa Indonesia dan dokumen. Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan tes. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan bertujuan untuk mengukur keterampilan menulis puisi pada siswa terdiri dari aspek kesatuan pilihan kata dengan tema, peristiwa dan larik-larik puisi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa penggunaan media gambar dalam pembelajaran menulis puisi pada siswa kelas VII C SMPN 2 Singkawang mampu meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis puisi. Hal ini dapat diketahui dari adanya peningkatan indikator-indikator yang telah ditetapkan. Persentase perhatian dan konsentrasi siswa selama apersepsi dan pada saat pembelajaran menulis puisi mengalami peningkatan yang cukup signifikan.

This study aims to improve learning outcomes and find out the learning activities of Indonesian by using Audio-Visual Media. The method used by the researcher was to use the Classroom Action research design of the subject in this study were all Vc grade students of SDN 3 Selat Hilir Kapuas Regency consisting of 22 students, 11 men, and 11 women. For data collection techniques used are observation and tests. The results of this study indicate that using Audio Visual Media can improve listening skills in Indonesian language learning in class Vc students of SDN 3 Lower Strait of Kapuas Regency. This is based on the results of the study with the acquisition of values in the learning activities that have been carried out for two cycles, it can be concluded that: the use of Audio Visual Media can improve students' listening skills, this can be seen from the pre-action average = 46.3 cycle averages I = 60 and cycle II = 95.4 with 100% classical completeness.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan meningkatnya keterampilan menulis deskripsi berbahasa Jawa siswa kelas X SMA N 2 Kebumen dengan menggunakan pendekatan proses dan media foto. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas atau classroom action research. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah desain penelitian tindakan Kemmis dan Taggart. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dua siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X2 SMA Negeri 2 Kebumen tahun pelajaran 2011/2012 yang berjumlah 32 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan observasi, catatan lapangan dan tes. Validitas yang digunakan adalah validitas demo-krasi, validitas proses dan validitas dialogis. Teknik yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data dalam penelitian tindakan ini adalah deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) siswa dapat menemukan ide lebih cepat, (2) siswa dapat membuat kerangka karangan, (3) siswa dapat mengembangkan kerang-ka karangan, (4) siswa dapat berpikir sistematis, (5) siswa semakin antusiasnya dalam mengikuti pembelajaran menulis karangan, (6) siswa paham melakukan proses mengarang. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ PHOTOGRAPH MEDIA TO IMPROVE THE DESCRIPTION WRITING SKILL OF THE STUDENTS AT SMA NEGERI 2 KEBUMEN   Abstract This research is aimed to describe and to explain the improvement in the description writing skill of the tenth grade students at SMA N 2 Kebumen by using  approach process and photography media. This research is classroom action research or classroom action research. The design used in this research was action research design by Kemmis and Taggart. The subject of the research was X2 class students at SMA Negeri 2 Kebumen in the academic year of 2011/2012, consisted of 32 students. The data collection was done by using observation, field notes and description during the time of the learning activity and also tests (pre test and post test). The validity used was democratic validity because the researcher truthfully collaborated either with the teacher and the students, the research also used process validity, marked by accuracy in the research process and dialogic validity can be shown that the research was implemented by having dialogue with the teacher and the collaborator to seek for critics and suggestion. Reliability in this action research was based on contextual and situational and localized. The technique used to analyze the data in this action research was descriptive. The monitoring on the learning process shows that (1) the students can find ideas faster, (2) the students can make essay framework, (3) the students can develop essay framework, (4) the students can think systematically, (5) the students are more enthusiastic in attending the learning of writing essay, (6) the students understand the process of writing essay. The objective of this study is to investigate whether the application of Before, During, and After (BDA) Technique significantly improves the students’ achievement in reading narrative text. This study was conducted by using classroom action research. The subject of this research was the students in MTs S Al-Ittihadiyah Mamiyai Medan especially class VIII 1 which consisted of 32 students. The research was conducted in two cycles. The first cycle consisted of three meetings and the second cycle consisted of three meetings. The instruments for collecting data were interview sheet, observation sheet, and diary notes. Based on the analysis, students’ achievement is improved in every test of reading narrative test. In test I, the mean score was 50.93. In test II in cycle I, the mean score was 70.93. In test III in cycle II, the mean score was 91.75. Based on the interview sheet, observation sheet and diary notes, it was found that the teaching learning process ran well. The students were more active and enthusiastic working in group. It was conclude that Before, During, and After (BDA) Technique can improve the students’ achievement in reading narrative text.   Keywords: BDA Technique, Reading, Narrative text, Action Research

The purpose of this research is to know whether Learning Model of Group Investigation can increase the students’achievement of XI MIPA 1 SMAN 1 Pemalang on the third semester in academic year 2021/2022.The subject of this classroom action research is the students of XI MIPA 1 of SMAN 1 Pemalang on third semester in academic year 2021/2022. The research variable consists of students and teacher variable. The students variable can be seen on their ability on solving the questions, while the teacher variable is seen by considering the way she plan the lesson and she conducts the classroom activity. This research is conducted in 3 cycles and each cycle consists of 4 steps, those are planning, conducting, observing and rfeflecting. The indicators of its success is measured when at least 75 % students achieve the learning completion after the implementation of Group Investigation Model. From the result of this classroom action research, it is gained that the students’achievement in English especially in ‘If Conditional’ can increase significantly. The increasing of the achievement can be shown by: 1) The average of students’achievement on cycle I is 7.14, on cycle II is 7.44, and on cycle III is 8.44, and then students learning completion on cycle I is 17 students or 47.22%, on cycle II is 22 students or 72,22 %, and on cycle III is 36 students or 100 %, and finally the classical learning completion on cycle I is 47.22 %, Cycle II is 72.22 %, and on Cycle III achieving 100%. It means that students achievement on English ‘If Conditional’ can increase in every cycle and it has completed indicator that has been determined. Beside that, there is an increasing students activity during the teaching learning process, both individually and classically. Based on the distribution of questionnaire for the students, it can be seen that students’ respond of XI MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Pemalang on the third Semester in academic year 2021/2022 toward the implementation of Group Investigation Model achieving 83.14 % state that they extremely agree or in a high category. ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah dengan Model Pembelajaran Group Investigation dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas XI MIPA-1 semester gasal Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 1 Pemalang tahun pelajaran 2021/2022.Subjek penelitian tindakan kelas ini adalah siswa kelas XI MIPA-1 Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 1 Pemalang pada Semester Gasal Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022. Variabel penelitian ini terdiri dari variabel siswa dan variabel guru. Variabel siswa dengan melihat kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal, sedangkan variabel guru yaitu dengan melihat cara guru membuat rencana pembelajaran dan bagaimana pelaksanaannya di dalam kelas.Penelitian dilakukan dengan tiga siklus dan masing-masing siklus terdiri atas empat tahapan, yakni: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Indikator keberhasilan ditetapkan bila minimal terdapat 75% siswa mencapai ketuntasan belajar setelah diterapkan Model Group Investigation. Dari hasil peneltian tindakan ini diperoleh informasi bahwa ada peningkatan prestasi belajara Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas XI MIPA-1 Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 1 Pemalang pada Semester Gasal Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022. Peningkatan itu ditunjukkan dengan: (1) rata-rata prestasi belajar siswa pada siklus I adalah 7,14; pada siklu siklus II adalah 7,44; dan pada siklus III adalah 8,44 (2) ketuntasan belajar siswa pada siklus I adalah 17 siswa atau 47,22%; siklus II adalah 22 siswa atau 72,22%; dan pada siklus III adalah 36 siswa atau 100%; (3) ketuntasan belajar klasikal pada siklus I adalah 47,22%; siklus II adalah 72,22%; dan pada siklus III mencapai 100,00%. Ini berarti prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa mengalami peningkatan pada setiap siklus dan sudah melampaui indikator yang telah ditentukan. Disamping itu juga ada peningkatan aktivitas siswa selama proses pembelajaran, baik secara individu maupun secara kelompok.Berdasarkan hasil penyebaran angket untuk siswa menunjukkan bahwa respon siswa kelas XI MIPA-1 Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 1 Pemalang pada Semester Gasal Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022 terhadap pelaksanaan Model Group Investigation mencapai 83,14% menyatakan sangat setuju atau dalam kategori tinggi.

The objective of this research is to find out the improvement of the students’ ability in reading the report text by using the trading place strategy.  The research was conducted by using Classroom Action Research (Arikunto, 2006). The subject of this study was the nineth grade students in MTs S. AL-Husna, Medan, in academic year 2016/2017. The class consisted of 30 students. The data were taken from the students’ score, observation sheet, diary notes and documentation. Based on the reading tests, the students’ score kept improvement in every test: from pre-test to post test of cycle I and post test of cycle II. The improvement can also be proved by the result of observation sheet and diary notes. Therefore, It was found that teaching reading the report text by implementing the trading place strategy could improve the students’ ability in reading comprehension of the report text.
