Amid modernization, most people need happiness. However, it accidentally brings them out to ecstasy. Plenty of ways are done to achieve its happiness. Unfortunately, some people are disappointed because they are unable to obtain it. When they don't succeed, their souls become unstable. This study examines the psychological problems of modern society with all its issues. Since it used the method of literature, the researchers drew two conclusions. First, most people experience a psychological crisis. It implies that they are less aware of the origins of their creation. Second, Islam offers a solution to overcome it by giving a thankful mindset and a way to purify one's soul (Tazkiyatun Nafs). People who have a thankful heart are happier, healthier, and in a better mood. People who regularly do Tazkiyatun Nafs (soul-cleansing) can keep their bad temper under control.

Background: Khat (Catha edulis) is a traditionally used substance in African and Arab countries that contains the amphetamine-like alkaloid cathinone. Khat use among Ethiopian students is a growing concern. This study aims to describe khat use, psychological problems, and motivation to change and to determine associated factors of khat use among students from Jimma University seeking psychological assistance. Methods: In a cross-sectional study, a sample of 717 students from Jimma University, southwestern Ethiopia, who seek assistance to reduce khat use were recruited. The study used Amharic and Afaan Oromoo language versions of common psychological instruments and employed them as part of a comprehensive tablet computer-delivered self-report assessment battery, comprising the SRQ-20, the PCL-5, the LEC-5, the AUDIT, and the SOCRATES-khat. In addition, socio-demographic, economic variables, and functioning problems due to severe mental disorders were assessed. The analysis relied on the data of the 575 included participants and used clinical cut-off values to describe this treatment-seeking sample and hierarchical regression models to determine variables associated with khat use. Results: The sample showed high khat use in the past month (M = 31.55 bundles, SD = 28.53, on M = 15.11 days, SD = 8.54); 17.0% showed highly problematic use. The sample was extremely burdened with comorbid psychiatric problems: 21.6% reported functioning problems due to past mental disorders, 60.2% scored above the cut-off for current common mental disorders, 37.9% screened positive for PTSD, and 47.1% reported hazardous alcohol use. Small to medium intercorrelations between variables were detected, and in hierarchical regression models, higher motivation to change khat use was associated with higher use of the substance. Conclusions: This study clearly shows the need to develop research instruments, screening methods, and assistance services for khat-using students at Jimma University. Study participants' high mental health burden shows the need for targeted intervention programs that go beyond brief interventions for khat use. Furthermore, the study highlights challenges for implementing such services: the barriers to utilization for females and khat users without comorbid mental health problems.

Mental illness - is a heavy burden of modern society and may be underestimated. There are several reasons: the high prevalence of this category of disorders, high level of stigmatization, treatment gap between those who are mentally ill and those will be treated. The economic crisis and the lack of resources, make psychosocial rehabilitation of mental disorders even more complicated. This review is based on materials of the 24th Congress of the European Psychiatric Association (April 2016, Madrid), the participants of the "Eastern European Academy of the World Psychiatric Association and "Servier" company specifically for psychiatric journals of WPA Zone 10 (East European Educational WPA-Servier Academy - «EEE WPA-Servier Academy». The saturation of the information space leads to high demands on the human mental world and as a consequence — economic, psychological, cultural, social factors cause various changes in the human body. These changes manifest in the negative manifestations of the mental state of the individual and affect his physical and psychological health. Scientists include psychological problems related to the development of human intelligence. Intelligence plays a significant role not only in its daily activities, but also in the professional field. Scientists have proved the fact that the success of any activity, the adaptation of a person to the conditions of life, a certain environment, etc., depends on the level of intelligence. Gentlemen,—I feel it a great honour to be asked to address your learned Society, and yet it is not without misgiving that I have undertaken the task. I am, indeed, somewhat abashed at the temerity which has led me to discuss Medico-Psychological problems before such masters of the subject as I see before me, but I am in some measure reconciled to the position in which I find myself by the consideration that the kindness which induced my friend, Mr Mould—I presume, with your sanction—-to ask me to address you, will be extended so far as to incline you to overlook my shortcomings. It is also possible that an exchange of ideas between the general physician and the alienist on the great subject of mental disorders may be productive of good to both. For between complete sanity and that degree of mental derangement which the law recognizes as insanity there is a wide border-land of disordered physical functions, in which the opportunities of the general physician for making observations may even be greater than those of the alienist himself, and it is from this border-land chiefly that I have culled the few observations which I propose to present to you to day.

Modern society in this article is interpreted as transitive-turbulent, which is associated with the transition stage in the era of postmodernism. The work is aimed at finding methodological foundations for analyzing the features of modern society, as well as analyzing the problems associated with the new cultural ethics of a modern dehumanized society. The new realities associated with instability, multivariability and uncertainty of the future have given rise to many personal and socio-psychological problems. In new realities, people are looking for ways to cope with them. The article shows that the biggest troubles in these conditions are faced by teenagers and young people, for whom the most important age task is the formation of personal identity in conditions of multifactorial and uncertain future and blurring moral norms. In connection with these circumstances, education has an extremely difficult task associated with human formation in new socio-cultural conditions. The main purpose of this article is to reveal, identify and analyze the psychological problems associated with changing the social behavior of both individuals and various groups in a transitive-turbulent society.
