An instrumental method for monitoring changes in the width of crack opening in the constructions of the National Reserve "Sofia Kievska" is presented. Due to the uneven sediment of the foundations, causing the appearance of stress and effort in the load-bearing building structures, there is a process of cracking. The process of cracking is one of the manifestations of deformation processes that need to be monitored, and therefore to conduct regular instrumental observations. The urgency of instrumental monitoring is assumed to be a careful attitude to the historical and cultural heritage of Ukraine, in particular the National Reserve "Sofia Kievska". The main task of the publication was to consider the method of instrumental observation of the change in the width of the crack opening using the comparator "SDM 50/500". Investigate the dependence and analysis of seasonal fluctuations in ambient temperature and humidity changes in the width of crack opening based on the results of five years of monitoring of cracks in the structures of St. Sofia Cathedral of the National Reserve "Sofia Kievska". The article presents the results of long-term monitoring by a unique method using the comparator "SDM 50/500" width of cracks in the walls of the historical and cultural monument of architecture and history of Ukraine of St. Sofia Cathedral of National Reserve "Sofia Kievska". The presented monitoring results were collected during five years of work. According to the results of observations, a graph of the development of changes in the width of crack opening over time over 5 years is constructed. The direct dependence on air humidity and the inverse dependence on the ambient air temperature are analyzed with the help of the constructed dependence graphs. The results of the study provided an opportunity to develop clear recommendations for further studies to monitor the development of cracks. The main direction of further research will be to improve the method of surveying the change in the width of the crack opening using a portable comparator "SDM 50/500".

The article presents the results of studies of hygroscopic properties of chia seeds, which is a relatively new culturefor the Ukrainian industry. Chia seeds are a product with a high nutrient content and rich in trace elements, vitamins andminerals that can be of great benefit to human health. Therefore, the main task of post-harvest technology is to bring it to a state that will ensure long-term storage of chia seeds without loss in weight and poor quality. An important influence on the condition of the grain mass during storage and, in particular, during the initial treatment has its hygroscopicity, ie the ability to sorption and desorption of water vapor. Knowledge about the hygroscopic properties of grain are of practical importance for the scientific substantiation of the choice of rational modes of active ventilation, drying. The main characteristic of hygroscopic properties of grain materials is equilibrium moisture, so its determination is an important step for maintaining the quality of grain. The equilibrium moisture of chia seeds has been determined for the first time. The studies were carried out by the generally accepted tensimetric method in the range of air temperatures in the range of 5... 25 °C and iota relative humidity of 33...70 %, which model the conditions of storage of seeds and corresponding to the long-term average data, correspond to the warm and cold seasons in Odessa region. The influence of relative humidity, air temperature and grain moisture on the equilibrium moisture of chia was investigated, numerical values of equilibrium moisture of chia seeds were determined according to environmental parameters: temperature 5, 15, 25 °C and relative humidity 33, 45 and 70 %.The nature of the change in the equilibrium moisture of chia seeds was determined depending on the temperature and relative humidity. With increasing relative humidity and decreasing ambient temperature, the equilibrium moisture of chia seeds increases. The empirical coefficients and the equation that describes the dependence of the equilibrium moisture of chia seeds on the parameters of ambient air - temperature and relative humidity at which its change can be predicted. The data obtained can be used to select drying and active ventilation modes, as well as storage conditions for chia.

Jean Monnet took an honorable place in the pantheon of prominent Europeans. Many research institutions bear his name. This is not just a historical recognition, but also not a cult of personality, because J. Monnet himself quite objectively assessed his personal place in the European integration process. Evidence of this is his memoirs, which are a valuable source of modern history of European unity. The aim of the article is to analyze the memoirs of Jeanne Monnet as a source on the history of the European integration process, which reveals its main stages, features and ways of solving problems. The undoubted merit of J. Monnet in the history of European integration is the so-called “Monnet method”, which consists in the fact that economic integration was recognized as a forerunner of political unification. Integration should take place from the bottom up, not the other way around. The political life of Jean Monnet as a true French patriot and a great European is the embodiment of current discussions between supporters of functionalism and federalism in the history and modernity of European integration. Proponents of federalism consider the creation of a superpower with supranational governing bodies, to which states transfer most of their national sovereignty, to be the main task of integration. Gradually, a common identity is formed, which distinguishes the group from the external environment. Neo-functionalists believe that national authorities delegate executive powers to the community, not sovereignty. Progress in European integration has been made possible by a combination of long-term, medium-term and short-term factors. One of the main long-term factors in the success of European integration is the European idea as an idea of the territorial and civilization unity of Europe, consolidated by the commonality of historical destiny, which requires institutionalization. There is no general theory of regional integration that can explain the complex integration phenomenon in all its diversity. Existing theoretical approaches remain loyal to the state principle as a form of organization of political life. Only neo-functionalists focus on social groups involved in integration and supranational institutions, not nation-states. Many rules of the European Union are formed in political networks that integrate different territorial levels: local, regional, national, supranational. Monnet called for this to be clearly understood and taken into account in real European politics.

McCune-Albright Syndrome (MAS) is characterized by endocrinopathies, café-au-lait spots, and fibrous dysplasia. Bisphosphonates are the most prescribed treatment for reducing the pain but their long-term use has been associated with atypical fractures of cortical bones like femur in patients. We present a 23-year-old girl diagnosed with MAS. She had an atypical mid-shaft left femoral fracture that happened during simple walking. She also had a history of long-term use of alendronate. Because of the narrow medullary canal, we used 14 holes hybrid locking plate for the lateral aspect of the thigh to fix the fracture and 5 holes dynamic compression plate (instead of the intramedullary nail) in the anterior surface to double fix it, reducing the probability of device failure. With double plate fixation and discontinuation of alendronate, the complete union was achieved five months after surgery

Different understandings of European integration, its background and present problems are represented in this book, but they share an emphasis on historical processes, geopolitical dynamics and regional diversity. The introduction surveys approaches to the question of European continuities and discontinuities, before going on to an overview of chapters. The following three contributions deal with long-term perspectives, including the question of Europe as a civilisational entity, the civilisational crisis of the twentieth century, marked by wars and totalitarian regimes, and a comparison of the European Union with the Habsburg Empire, with particular emphasis on similar crisis symptoms. The next three chapters discuss various aspects and contexts of the present crisis. Reflections on the Brexit controversy throw light on a longer history of intra-Union rivalry, enduring disputes and changing external conditions. An analysis of efforts to strengthen the EU’s legal and constitutional framework, and of resistances to them, highlights the unfinished agenda of integration. A closer look at the much-disputed Islamic presence in Europe suggests that an interdependent radicalization of Islamism and the European extreme right is a major factor in current political developments. Three concluding chapters adopt specific regional perspectives. Central and Eastern European countries, especially Poland, are following a path that leads to conflicts with dominant orientations of the EU, but this also raises questions about Europe’s future. The record of Scandinavian policies in relation to Europe exemplifies more general problems faced by peripheral regions. Finally, growing dissonances and divergences within the EU may strengthen the case for Eurasian perspectives.

Dramatic and theatrical performances have a long history of being used as tools to enhance development in children and youth. In pre-colonial times there were some forms of drama and theatre used by different communities in the socialisation of children. It is in the same vein that this article, through the Intwasa koBulawayo performances, seeks to evaluate how drama and theatre are used to nurture children and youth into different developmental facets of their lives. The only difference which this article will take into cognisance is that the performances are done in a different environment, which is not the one used in the pre-colonial times. Although these performances were like this, the most important factor is the idea that children and youth are socialised through these performances. It is also against this backdrop that children and youth are growing up in a globalised environment, hence the performances should accommodate people from all walks of life and teach them relevant issues pertaining to life as they live it now. Thus the main task of the article is to spell out the role of drama and theatre in the nurturing of children and youth through socio economic and political development in Intwasa koBulawayo festivals.
