This article has a purpose to discuss about character building for students in elementary level by developing positive attitude and positive opinion towards mathematics. Indonesian government today continuously has tried to improve the quality of education by revising curriculum to all levels of education starting from elementary school to senior high school. The new implemented curriculum focus on the implementation of character which is integrated with all school subjects including mathematics. Character building at elementary level becomes main concern by all people because the main focus at elementary level is more on building good attitude rather than on knowledge and skill. This paper describes about on how to develop performance character and mathematics positively which includes confidence, positive view towards mathematics, improve students’ patience, improve student’s competence, praise for the student’s effort, develop student’s cleverness and gives motivation. By developing performance character and mathematics positivity could create an effective mathematics class, improve student’s behavior, avoid student’s constrain in learning mathematics and enhance student’s interest in learning mathematics.

This paper discusses the importance of the students ‘character building in the level of primary school/Islamic elementary school to face the globalization and information era. Education is the process of determining the nation’s character. Good or bad character of the nation in the future will be determined by the present quality of education. Building the character through Tahfidzul Quran learning approach is expected to be the main foundation to improve the degree and prestige of learners as the asset of the nation. This study aimed to describe the process of Tahfidzul Quran learning which included planning, organizing, doing action and monitoring the important role of learning itself to build the learners’ character, especially in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Istiqomah Sambas Purbalingga.

Quality of education nowadays isthe main concern for those who are involved and plunge into education. In recent years, TQM has been applied in the world of education to improve the quality of education since it is believed as an effective management philosophy for dynamic improvement, customer satisfaction, and organizational excellence. However, this notion has begun to be developed in the manufacturing sector. Therefore, this study used a qualitative approach through extensive literature to provide a better comprehension in implementing TQM in education. This research is expected to conclude the crucial factors supporting the successful implementation of TQM in education to reach the advantage of its application maximally. This paper also discussed the challenges faced in implementing TQM in education so that schools can take appropriate steps when actively implementing TQM in education. Besides, we explained about the implementation of TQM in Indonesia, particularly in vocational schools.

In the 2019 survey, 82.2% of teachers never participated in media training, especially learning media based on geogebra technology. Meanwhile, 92.8% of teachers stated that mathematics requires learning media. The low quality of education in NTB requires special attention from both the government and the private sector, so it is important to conduct technology-based learning media training in order to improve the quality of education, especially improving the quality of teachers. The training was carried out using offline and online methods for two days, 19 and 20 August 2021 at SMPN 16 Mataram. The training was attended by 22 participants from junior high school mathematics teachers in the city of Mataram. In the implementation of the training, an evaluation was carried out using questionnaires and observations. The conclusions from the results of the service were as follows: Geogebra training as a medium for learning mathematics for SMP teachers in the city of Mataram in 2021 received a very good response and was well received by the teachers. Geogebra training as a medium for learning mathematics for junior high school teachers in the city of Mataram in 2021 is very in line with what is expected by mathematics teachers in the City of Mataram and increases teacher competence in the context of applying technology in learning to develop technology-based mathematics learning media.

Abstract This research describes several management of MI Nurul Ummah in order to improve the quality of education in the school, the type of research in this paper is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques used by interview and also with various sources both from relevant books and journals. From the results of the writing, it is known that there are some policies implemented by MI Nurul Ummah management (1) Assisting the reading of Asmaul Husna, intends to educate students characters to love Allah through Asmaul Husna, (2) The implementation of Full Day School, the application of this policy is expected to make it easier to supervise students in the school, (3) Dhuha prayer in congregation, get children to pray in congregation and a good character building, (4) The training of teachers to upgrade teachers knowledge in order to produce a good quality of education. While that which is the inhibiting factors of the policy namely internal factors (Funds, Teachers, Students) external factors (Parents of Students, Society)

The problem our pupils must face grow in complexity along with the development of age, especially at elementary level. At present many elementary grades require the availability of guidance and counseling. Elementary schools acting as classroom teacher while also providing guidance and counseling in practice is not viable. As such dedicated guidance counselor is needed to provide professional service. With the presence of guidance counselor, the quality of education can be developed further with the availability of optimum service for students tailored according to their needs and situation. Here the government is expected to hire guidance and counselor at elementary schools by following pattern at junior and senior high schools in which the counselor: student ratio is 1:150.

This class action research aims to improve the quality of emotional intelligence and mathematics learning achievement of students in class VII-F of SMP Negeri 5 Purwokerto by applying Quantum teaching to mathematics learning. After applying Quantum teaching emotional intelligence and mathematics learning achievement of students increased. This research was conducted in three cycles. Data collection techniques through observation by observers and filling out questionnaires by students, and data analysis was done in the description with scoring techniques. Based on the results of the research that has been done it can be concluded the following matters: 1) There is an increase in students' emotional intelligence in the process of learning mathematics. This can be seen from the increase in the average observations and emotional intelligence questionnaire results of students from cycle I to cycle III. In cycle III, the average results of observation of emotional intelligence were 2.53 with the criteria of emotionally intelligent students and the average results of students' emotional intelligence questionnaire in cycle III was 2.87 with the criteria of emotionally intelligent students. 2) There is an increase in students' mathematics learning achievement in the material lines and angles. This can be seen from the increase in grade point average and mastery learning. The average value of the class before the application of Quantum teaching was 72.21 with a mastery of learning at 54.54% after the implementation of the Quantun teaching completeness of student learning rose to 74.194% with an average grade of 76.548. Thus the application of Quantum teaching in mathematics learning succeeded in increasing emotional intelligence and mathematics learning achievement of VII-F graders of SMP Negeri 5 Purwokerto

Mathematics is a lesson that is still a frightening specter for some students. There are several methods used to make mathematics fun to learn. One of them is to package material in mathematics to be more attractive and interesting, especially for children this can make them become interested in learning mathematics. The developed using research and development methods. This method begins by exploring the problem, collecting data needed, designing the product to be developed, validating the product design, testing the use of the system to be developed, revising the product, testing the product, revising the product and product design if there are errors or deficiencies and the last is mass production of product. This research aims to develop an interactive multimedia-based mathematics learning which can later be optimized to increase student interest in learning mathematics and be used to improve the quality of education.

There is a rapid increase in demand for education across the country. Consequently, the trend of educating children in private sector schools is expanding. This article provides an overview of the teachers of private and public schools regarding commercialization of education at elementary level. A self-developed questionnaire was followed for data collection. No significant difference was found in the perceptions of both sectors teachers regarding positive attitude of parents towards private sector, high socio economic status of private sector students and low and high emphasis of commercialization of education in rural and urban areas respectively. Public school teachers views for acceptability of fee structure and promotion of quality of education for commercialization of education are significantly more positive than private school teachers. It is recommended that government should develop proper mechanism to regulate the private sector in the area of fee structure, overall quality of education and affordable for everyone.

Innovation in the media as a learning tool can also be used to improve the quality of education in accordance with the talents and abilities of teachers as educators and students as students. Therefore, the author tries to make a learning tool as a medium for learning mathematics with specialization in teaching and learning activities in the classroom with the aim of increasing students' understanding of the Cone Slice material about Ellipses on the X and Y axes, this can be seen from the average value of the first cycle the results of the first daily examination of 83.34 and the second daily examination of 85.24 and the second cycle the results of the third daily examination of 87.42 and the fourth daily examination of 91.37 with a KKM score of 85, as well as to increase student activity, this can seen from the average student attendance of 88% to 90% in the first cycle, and the average student attendance of 95% to 100% in the second cycle, which means that students are very happy in learning mathematics with specialization, especially material about ellipses. Globalization is a necessity, and its movement continues to grow and almost touches various aspects of human life, including education. However, the function of education as a part of the national character building must be maintained. Likewise, education management at the strategic, managerial, and operational levels determine the quality of education. Three aspects of educational management that are important are the issues of educational leadership, teacher standards, and education personnel which directly influence the quality of education. Predictably, effective educational leadership will support and realize the teacher standards and education personnel, which in turn will also improve the quality of education. This research focused on teachers' management, education personnel, teacher standards, and education quality. A qualitative descriptive approach was chosen as a design for this study.
