The article presents the results of macroscopic, histological and histochemical studies of the heart and lungs of dogs for isoniazid poisoning. A pathoanatomical section of 19 carcasses of dogs of different ages and breeds was performed; heart and lung fragments were selected for morphological examination. Heart and lung samples were fixed in 10 % aqueous formalin neutral solution, Carnua and Buen fluids. Dehydration was carried out in ethanol of increasing concentration and embedded in paraffin. The sections were made on a MC-2 microtome 7 μm thick, stained with hematoxylin and eosin, using the McManus and Brasche technique. Made histopreparations were examined under a Leica DM 2500 light microscope (Switzerland), photo-fixation was performed with a Leica DFC450C using Leica Application Suite Version 4.4 software. The results of morphohistochemical studies have shown that in acute poisoning of dogs with isoniazid  in the heart prevailed acute disorders of the vascular circulation, manifested by a sharp expansion and destruction of the walls of the venous vessels, plasmorrhagia, microtromb of the capillaries and spasm of the arterioles, which led to the development of swelling, caused acute decrease of protein synthesation function of muscle fibers and dystrophic-necrobiotic changes of cardiomyocytes. It was noted, in the lungs of dogs on the background of acute congestive hyperemia, diapedesis of erythrocytes and accumulation of transudate in the lumen of the alveoli, foci of emphysema and bronchiectasis with rupture of the epithelial layer of the mucous membrane, elastic skeleton and muscular tubules of bronchial tubules that indicated the violation of gas exchange and the development of anoxemia. It is known that spontaneous isoniazid poisoning in dogs leads to an acute course and often fatal consequences. In the comprehensive study of the effects of chemicals on the body, and in particular isoniazid on the body of dogs, toxicological and pathomorphological studies are of great importance. The use of morphological and histochemical methods will reveal some of the mechanisms of intoxication.

Analysis of the HPV positive papilloma structures at different levels of pathological process development was carried out. Classical staining of preparations with hematoxylin and eosin was used for immunohistochemical determination of Ki67-positive cells and phenotyping of CD positive cells. We found that the process of papilloma formation begins with a local increase in the proliferative activity of keratinocytes which contributes to the formation of a local epithelial convex above the surface of the oropharyngeal mucosa (OPM) in the form of papilloma. The connective tissue of the OPM adjacent to the epithelium grows at the second stage. At the same time here is a decrease in immunocytes/macrophages number of the oral epithelium not only in the growth zone of the papilloma but in the adjacent neoplasm tissue. The third stage is characterized by the destruction of the basal membrane of the OPM. Apoptotic cells in the cambial layer and forming leukocytes infiltrate the OPM lamina propria. Virus-infected keratinocytes are phagocytized by macrophages or exfoliated from the surface of the epithelial layer. The emerging in the middle layers defect of tissue of the epithelial layer and the absence of Langerhans cells indicate a relationship between the migration of antigen-presenting cells expressing CD68 with impaired differentiation and specialization of keratinocytes. The conclusion is based on the analogy of "leukemic failure" in leukemia and on the absence of differentiating epithelial cells between the cambium and the specialized surface layer in the long-existing papilloma. The disappearance from the epithelium of CD68-positive cells specific to the epithelial layer is a prognostic sign of malignization in the mucous membrane of the oropharynx.

Gasoline is widely used in some industries, and the literature quite often comes across indications of isolated and massive cases of poisoning of workers exposed to it. Hence, it is clear that researchers paid attention to the study of the effect of this poison on the body, and, mainly, the effect of acute (single) poisoning with gasoline was studied, both through a thorough study of individual cases of acute poisoning of workers, and by setting up appropriate experiments on animals.

The author has long noted that the first months of pregnancy are characterized by a peculiar mobility of the cervix in relation to the body, so that the portio vaginalis can move sideways, forward and backward without the participation of the uterine body. In this case, one must beware of confusion with cases where the imaginary mobility may depend on the accidental mobility of the swollen mucous membrane covering the portio.

The nereidid Pseudonereis variegata (Grube, 1866) described from Chile includes 14 synonymised species from 10 type localities with a discontinuous distribution, but no taxonomic or molecular studies have investigated the status of this species outside Chile. Two synonymised species, Mastigonereis podocirra Schmarda, 1861 and Nereis (Nereilepas) stimpsonis Grube, 1866, were described from South Africa and investigated here using morphological examination. MtCOI species delimitation analyses and morphology were used to determine the status of P. variegata in South Africa. Morphological examination revealed that museum and freshly collected specimens from South Africa that conform to the general description of P. variegata are similar to M. podocirra and N. stimpsonis with respect to the consistent absence of homogomph spinigers in the inferior neuropodial fascicle, expanded notopodial ligules and the subterminal attachment of dorsal cirri in posterior parapodia. The synonymy of M. podocirra and N. stimpsonis as P. variegata are rejected and P. podocirra, comb. nov. is reinstated. Morphologically, Pseudonereis podocirra differed from specimens from Chile with regard to the numbers of paragnaths, the absence of homogomph spinigers and changes in parapodial morphology along the body. Independence of these species was further supported by genetic distances, automatic barcode gap discovery and multi-rate Poisson tree process species delimitation analyses of 77 mtCOI sequences. Haplotype network revealed no genetic structuring within the South African populations. http://zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:F0B1A5AF-9CE9-4A43-ACCF-17117E1C2F21

The actuality of the problem is associated with an increase in the number of patients with cholelithiasis of working age and a significant increase in cholecystectomies not only in Russia, but throughout the world. It is known that more than 2,5 million are performed annually. Moreover, 5-40% of operated patients develop postcholecystectomy syndrome, which is manifested by recurrent abdominal pain and cholegenic diarrhea. The aim of the study is to assess morphofunctional changes in the mucous membrane of various parts of the intestine in patients with postcholecystectomy syndrome. Histological, histochemical, morphometric and bacterioscopic, parasitological methods were used to study 42 biopsy specimens of the mucous membrane of various parts of the intestines of patients who underwent cholecystectomy. The control group consisted of 18 biopsies of practically healthy individuals. To objectify the study, a morphometric study of the mucous membrane of the duodenum according to 34 parameters, of the cecum and sigmoid colon according to 22 parameters was carried out. In the mucous membrane of the duodenum, chronic duodenitis of varying degrees of activity of the pathological process and atrophy of the intestinal villi were revealed, the intestinal glands were shortened, the intestinal villi are less wide. The epithelial layer of intestinal villi and intestinal glands was abundantly infiltrated with neutrophilic granulocytes. The density of the inflammatory cellular infiltrate in the stroma of the intestinal villi and intestinal glands increased. On the surface of the epithelial layer of the intestinal villi and between the intestinal glands, campylobacters were often found, less often - cryptosporidia. In the mucous membrane of the cecum and sigmoid colon, chronic colitis of varying degrees of activity of the pathological process and atrophy of the intestinal glands were revealed. The thickness of the mucous membrane and the depth of the intestinal glands were lower than normal. Thus, in patients with postcholecystectomy syndrome, pronounced morphometric and histological changes were revealed in the mucous membrane of various parts of the intestine, while the depth and degree of its damage were more significant in its proximal parts.

Changes in the mucous membrane of the body of the uterus, accompanying cancer of the vaginal part and cervix, drew special attention after the work of Abel (see No. I), which appeared in 1888. The author studied the mucous membrane of the body of the uterus, taken from extirpated cases of 6 uterus for carcinoma portionis and in 1 case for carcinoma cervicis. "In all cases, the mucous membrane is dull," says the author (p. 279, 1. p.), To a high degree of alteration, while the mucous membrane of the cervix is relatively insignificantly diseased. " These changes, as can be seen from the description of each individual case, concern both the gland and the intermediate tissue, and the first in all cases were multiplied and represented corkscrew gyrus; some of them were enlarged or contained ectases of the lateral walls and processes protruding into the lumen of the gland. Changes in the intermediate tissue in cases 1, 2 and 4 consisted in the multiplication of cells in deep layers, and here they had a short-spindle-shaped shape, small size and went in trains in different directions; in the surface layers, they were more or less round, much larger in size and resembled epitheloid cells. In addition, a nested infiltration with small, round cells (lymphoid cells?) Met in places. In the remaining 4 cases, the changes in the intermediate tissue, according to the author's description, were the same as usually in chronic inflammation (cases 5, 6 and 7) or almost absent (case 3). On the basis of these studies, the author comes to the conclusion that changes in the mucous membrane of the body of the uterus in cancer of the vaginal part and cervix have the character of sarcomatous degeneration, which in observed 1, 2 and 4-m, already reached a rather high degree of 4, in the rest, although it did not appear as sharp as especially in the first case, but nevertheless, these changes, according to the author, cannot be considered as inflammatory, but should be taken only as a more weak degree of the same sarcomatous degeneration, by analogy with the first.

An impressive number of thousands of plants have been utilising for the treatment of diseases for thousands of years. Many of them are clearly explained in Ayurveda. In Ayurveda certain drugs manifest their action by their Rasa (taste); some by their Virya (potency) or other qualities, some by Vipaka (biological transformation) and others by their specific action. As per their Raspanchak, some of these drugs possesses an affinity for bala. The drugs that provide Bala (strength) and vitality to the body have been grouped under Balya mahakashaya by Acharya Charak. Bala (strength) plays an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases. This study aimed to discuss the details of ten Balya Mahakashya drugs based on their Raspanchak i.e Rasa, Guna, Vi- rya, Vipaka and Karma and in relation to Bhavaprakash Nighantu, Dhanwantari Nighantu, Raj Nighantu and Kaiyadev Nighantu. Keywords: Bala, Balya Mahakashaya, Raspanchak, Nighantu.

Natural and climatic conditions of the environment of Northeast Russia and particularly Magadan region are the very factor mostly influencing adaptive responses by individuals inhabiting the region. Compensatory and adaptive responses in indigenes and newcomers of the region can be assumed to have their specific features. In 2009 there was executed the examination of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems and gas exchange in 392 cases aged of 17-19 years, including Europeans (Caucasians) born in the North in the 1st-2nd generation and indigenes. The methodologically similar study was carried out in 2014 in 265 persons, referred to the same cohorts of North-born Caucasians and Indigenes from the Magadan region. The results of the study executed in 2009 testified to a small number of physiological parameters that were reliably different in Caucasians vs. Indigene subjects. In 2014 no difference was found between the two examined cohorts throughout the observed parameters. The revealed changes in gas exchange, external respiration and cardiovascular systems demonstrated by modern young Indigenes of Northeast Russia testified to the fall in the effectiveness of their breathing. All that makes them farther from the classic “polar metabolic type” and their morphofunctional status becomes closer to European male subjects of Northeast Russia. Thus, we can observe a clear tendency towards “convergence in programs” of the adaptive changes between populations of the North residents undergoing similar natural, environmental and social factors.
