AbstractChildren are one of groups most vulnerable to and risky of being affected with disaster. Considering the data of disaster incidence, child victims can be found in many places and time. This research aimed to find out children’s awareness, wariness, and alertness in Sleman Regency, constituting an area vulnerable to Mount Merapi disaster. This research uses quantitative and descriptive qualitative methods with questionnaire, interview and documentation being the technique of collecting data, and interactive model of analysis being technique of analyzing data, and source triangulation being the technique of validating data. The result of research showed varying alertness of children in dealing with disaster. Children whose school location is close to Mount Merapi have higher alertness than those whose school location is farther. Generally they have ever attended the socialization of disaster held by school in the beginning of every semester. However, the socialization of disaster in school was not followed with the similar activity at home. Limited understanding on the risks around the house led to the poor alertness in dealing with disaster.    Anak-anak merupakan salah satu kelompok paling rentan dan berisiko terkena dampak bencana. Berdasarkan data kejadian bencana, korban usia anak terjadi di berbagai tempat dan waktu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesadaran, kewaspadaan dan kesiapsiagaan anak di Kabupaten Sleman yang merupakan daerah rawan bencana Gunung Merapi. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dan kualitatif deskriptif, pengumpulan data dengan kuesioner, wawancara dan dokumen, analisis data dengan model interaktif, dan validitas data dengan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya variasi kesiapsiagaan anak dalam menghadapi bencana. Pada anak-anak yang lokasi sekolahnya dekat dengan Gunung Merapi memilikikesiapsiagaan yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan yang lebih jauh. Pada umumnya mereka pernah mengikuti sosialisasi bencana yang diadakan oleh sekolah setiap awal semester. Namun sosialisasi bencana di sekolah tanpa dibarengi dengan kegiatan serupa di rumah. Keterbatasan pemahaman tentang risiko-risiko di sekitar rumah berakibat pada kurangnya kesiapsiagaan dalam menghadapi bencana.

The Covid-19 pandemic has become a torch of creativity for literary authors.One of them is through a collection of short stories #ProsaDiRumahAja.This study aims to reveal the sociological aspects and social impacts of the pandemic from these short stories. This study uses a sociological literary approach with descriptive qualitative methods. The data of this research are seven short stories from twenty short stories in the book. This study found that the pandemic has resulted that the poor becoming poorer, traditions experiencing resistance and adaptation due to adapting health protocols, and women who are still trapped in a patriarchal culture.AbstrakPandemi Covid-19 telah menjadi obor kreativitas bagi para pengarang karya sastra. Salah satunya adalah melalui kumpulan cerpen #ProsaDiRumahAja. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkap segi-segi sosiologis dan dampak-dampak sosial pandemi dari cerpen-cerpen tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan sosiologi sastra dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Data penelitian ini adalah tujuh cerpen dari dua puluh cerpen di buku tersebut. Kajian ini menemukan bahwa pandemi telah mengakibatkan masyarakat miskin menjadi lebih miskin, tradisi yang mengalami resistensi dan adaptasi karena menyesuaikan dengan protokol kesehatan, dan perempuan yang masih terkurung dalam budaya patriarki melalui kebijakan “Di Rumah Aja”.

It is well known that the Quranic sanad is one of the three main conditions in accepting the authentic of Quranic recitations (also known as qiraat). In the beginning, the Quranic sanad was recorded on a piece of paper as an important document confirming that one had finished reading the Quran in front of the teacher and had completed all knowledge related to qiraat. The writings relating to Quranic sanad have evolved with the birth of Quranic figures such as Al-Zahabi (d. 748H) who produced the work of Ma'rifah al-Qurra’ al-Kibar, Ibn al-Jazari (d. 833H) through the work of Ghayah al-Nihayah fi Tabaqat al-Qurra’ and al-Nasyr fi al-Qiraat al-Asyr and more. The objective of this study is to study the methodology in the writing of former scholars in works related to the Quranic sanad. In addition, the study also focuses on the writings of contemporary scholars in this field such as the book of Ithaf al-Zaman bi Asanid Ahl al-Quran by Dr. Ilyas al-Barmawi and the book of al-Salasil al-Zahabiyyah bi al-Asanid al-Nasyriyyah by Dr. Aiman Rusydi Suwaid who reviews the Quranic sanad in a structured and critical manner. This study will be conducted through descriptive qualitative methods with particular focus on selected Quranic sanad books. The deductive method in the study will be used to maximize the expected results. The study found that writing in this field has been given priority by previous scholars by using of the Qurra’ biography method, their teachers and students. The contemporary scholars, however, emphasized the existence of high-level sanad to the Messenger of Allah and also discussed current issues related to sanad.   Penulisan ini akan menyentuh kepada perkembangan tahfiz di Malaysia bermula dengan lonjakan pencapaian pelajar tahfiz Maahad Tahfiz Al-Quran, Pulai Chondong, Kelantan dalam keputusan Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) tahun 2003 di peringkat nasional sehingga mencetus fenomena perkembangan pelbagai kurikulum tahfiz di peringkat kebangsaan. Namun begitu, dalam keghairahan masyarakat menghantar anak mereka ke sekolah aliran tahfiz, terdapat kelompongan pendidikan dari sudut melahirkan graduan tahfiz yang boleh menghafizkan orang lain. Hal ini adalah kerana, di peringkat institusi pengajian tinggi, penawaran kursus yang berkaitan seperti Metodologi Pengajaran Tahfiz Al-Quran adalah bersifat terfokus dan terhad. Sedangkan seiring dengan arus perdana – sebagaimana dalam bidang perguruan yang lain – tuntutan semasa menzahirkan kewajaran mewujudkan Institut Perguruan Tahfiz Malaysia di peringkat nasional khususnya bagi para pelajar di aliran tahfiz swasta. Justeru, data dan informasi yang dinyatakan dalam kertas kerja ini adalah kerangka cetusan idea, proses pelaksanaan dan bingkisan cadangan dalam merafakkan martabat pengajian tahfiz di Malaysia. Kertas kerja ini akan memberi fokus kepada dua objektif utama iaitu menyoroti gelombang tahfiz arus perdana di Malaysia dan cadangan penubuhan Institut Perguruan Tahfiz Malaysia bagi pelajar lepasan aliran tahfiz. Metodologi kajian yang digunapakai ialah kaedah perpustakaan dan analisis dokumen yang terdiri daripada kajian lepas, jurnal, buku, artikel prosiding, tesis dan akhbar. Berdasarkan kepada data yang diperoleh daripada En. Muhamad Shafie bin Ismail, Ketua Unit Pemerkasaan Pengajian Al-Quran, KPM, sehingga Februari 2019 terdapat hampir 1381 buah sekolah tahfiz aliran swasta yang berdaftar dengan Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia, dengan jumlah pelajar mencecah 70,000 pelajar. Jumlah pelajar tahfiz swasta yang begitu besar dalam arus kebangsaan ini amatlah perlu diterapkan dengan elemen pedagogi seiring dengan pelajar di Institut Perguruan yang lain. Diharap agar kertas kerja ini dapat menyumbang ke arah memartabatkan bidang tahfiz di Malaysia khususnya dalam konteks perguruan bagi graduan tahfiz al-Quran swasta.

This study aims to determine the implementation of the management and leadership of kiai Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor in order to continue to exist and even become a prototype of leadership and management of modern Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia. The study used descriptive qualitative methods which were carried out by collecting data obtained from documentation, observation and interviews, and supported by literature studies, both from books and journals. The results of the study show that the modernity of Pondok Gontor is seen in the implementation of management which is different from Islamic boarding schools in general. Gontor's management is carried out based on the principles of transparency and accountability as well as togetherness. Pondok Gontor adheres to a collective, democratic, and transformational leadership model. This leadership model is proven to be able to bring about change in every student and teacher to achieve high performance. Through its vision and mission, Pondok Gontor strives to produce strong and solid leaders, leaders who have a noble soul and philosophy of life, correct values and are involved in the totality of life in the boarding with high discipline.

This paper studies the use of prose in Julius Caesar as a tool of political and social apartheid and class discrimination. Usually, Shakespeare assigns blank verse to upper-class characters and prose to lower class ones. The study analyzes three occasions in which prose is used by two patricians and an eloquent cobbler. The paper means to explain the diversion of patricians to prose and add another voice to the already heaping interpretations given in criticism. It argues that the diversion of the two patricians to prose has two functions. Firstly, it shows that prose is indigenous to the poor and the patricians use it when they address the poor or talk about them. Secondly, Shakespeare shows that the diversion of the patricians to prose is a wrong choice and leads to moral depravity or failure of mission. In contrast, the cobbler uses prose effectively because it is indigenous to him and he feels at home using it. The study uses the contextual approach to analyze the three speeches. This research discusses the discrimination by white people to black people in “The Help” Movie. Black people and white people are separated by many rules that make black people is intimidating, so racism is still growing up until generations. This research aims to analyze the history, concept or types of racism and the struggle that also does by black people in “The Help” Movie. This research used descriptive qualitative methods. The researcher used the Sociological approach to identify and to find out the types of racism contained in The Help movie. In addition, from the result of the analysis, it was found that there are 4 types or concepts of racism in “The Help” Movie, such as the internalized, interpersonal, institutional and societal types by using Paradies and William’s theory. In the last result of analysis, the researcher also found the Struggle that does by the black people in “The Help” Movie.  Keywords: Movie, Racism, Sociological Approach.

This research analyzes the elements of personality in the main character of Sweeney Todd: The Demon of Barber of Fleet Street by Tim Burton. The researcher uses descriptive qualitative methods because the results of this research are words which are then described. In this research, the reseacher found the elements of personality in the main character of Sweeney Todd: The Demon of Barber of Fleet Street by Tim Burton such as Todd id as the desire wants to revenge Turpin and Beadle because of what they did to Todd’s family, the desire wants to kill Pirelli because he knew his the real identity, and the desire wants to kill Mrs. Lovett because she lied him. The desires as Todd’s id realized and supported by the ego. The way how ego realized all of id in Sweeney Todd, the ego does his role with an action. Thus the superego does not appear much as the id. His role only related with a good value such as when Todd wants to reveal the fake barber about his crime.Keywords: Sweeney Todd, id, ego, superego.

Suroan is known as a tradition which resulting from acculturation between the Saka and Islamic calendar. This tradition is performed to beg blessings and protections from misery and disasters. The implementation of Suroan became a custom in society, involving some trusted agents through social actions. However, most of Suroan performed in society is not in accordance with its true meaning. Regarding this problem, the purpose of this research is to obtain the action in the Suroan tradition. The method used is descriptive qualitative, while the kind of research is ethnography using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The data was collected through interview and observation in Bangunharjo, Taman Sari village. The result shows that social actions performed by Bangunharjo society are: a) traditional action through Suroan implementation is performed; b) affective action in a form of burial of the goat’s head, group prayers and puppet shows; c) instrument rational action in a form of physic, material, and emotional involving; d) rational action of value in a form of ubarampe. Thus, it can be concluded that Bangunharjo society still conserves the Suroan tradition.

AbstrakArsitektur dari suatu bangsa, pada suatu masa sering berbeda-beda, baik dalam hal bentuk maupun konsep-konsep yang melandasinya. Hal ini tentu disebabkan adanya perbedaan kebudayaan dari suatu masyarakat dengan masyarakat lainnya. Setiap suku bangsa biasanya akan menunjukkan identitas budayanya melalui benda-benda budaya yang mereka buat. Demikian halnya masyarakat Dayak Kanayatn memiliki ciri tersendiri dalam bentuk arsitektur bangunan khususnya bangunan rumah tinggal. Bentuk arsitektur masyarakat Dayak Kanayat’n yang tinggal di Desa Sahapm tercermin dalam bentuk Rumah Betang atau Rumah Panjang dan hingga kini masih dijaga dan dihuni oleh masyarakat. Bentuk rumah Betang juga menunjukkan hidup kebersamaan bagi penghuninya. Dalam  Rumah panjang atau Rumah Betang mereka berinteraksi antara bilik yang satu dengan bilik yang lainnya. Tujuan penulisan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk arsitektur Rumah Betang dan keberadaannya pada saat ini, selain itu penelitian ini juga  mendeskripsikan kehidupan masyarakat di Rumah Betang. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan tehnik pengamatan dan wawancara dalam menggali data di lapangan serta studi kepustakaan sebagai menggali bahan untuk menulis. AbstractThe nation has a diverse architecture, both in terms of form as well as the underlying concepts. The diversity of architecture due to differences in the culture of a society. Each tribe will usually show its cultural identity through cultural objects that they create. Similarly with Kanayatn Dayak community has its own characteristics in the architecture, especially residential buildings. Architectural form of the Dayak people who live in the village Dayak Kanayat'n reflected in the form of Rumah Betang or Rumah Panjang and is still maintained and inhabited by people. Betang shapes also showed live together or togetherness. The people who lived in Rumah Panjang interact with each other in one room to other room. The main purposes of this study is to describe the architectural form and its existence today. In addition, this study describe betang people's lives at home. The method used is descriptive-qualitative method using the techniques of observation and interviews to collect data in the field and library research.

Language is a human interaction tool to facilitate humans to communicate with one another, language also has benefits that are very important for life as an introduction in the world of education. But what happens, the fact is that at the moment in carrying out group guidance conducted by some people, they have not been able to use good and correct grammar, but have already behaved politely when communicating with other interlocutors and some people still assume that when communicating only requires language simple or improvised. This study aims to teach that people need to apply true and wise communication, especially in the use of good and correct language systems when conducting group guidance. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods that refer to data collection, data analysis, interpretation of the data concerned with the situation. The results of this study indicate that in conducting group counseling they have not been able to apply good and correct language but have applied good manners. This research has various benefits, namely making people able to understand and realize that the importance of communication when guidance uses good and correct language so that it is easy to understand and easily accepted.
