Introduction. The relevance of the study is due to the increasing need for the personnel of the law enforcement agency to demonstrate resilience and maintain a state of internal well-being for the successful solution of professional tasks. This requires early diagnosis of the severity of not only contraindications to the profession, but also resource, positive individual characteristics. The purpose of the study was to identify the relationship between resilience and self-assessment of emotional and personal well-being of cadets of the Ural Institute of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. Materials and methods. 169 cadets of the institute enrolled in the 1st year of study, aged 17-18 years, were examined. The psychodiagnostic methods "Self-assessment of emotional and personal well-being" (in two versions: " SEPWB -9" for 9 points and " SEPWB -24" for 24 points), a test of resilience were used. Methods of mathematical statistics: descriptive analysis, correlation analysis, factor analysis, regression analysis, Pearson chi-square, Cronbach's alpha. Results. With a high self-esteem of the majority of cadets of their own resilience, there are isolated cases of low ratings of this characteristic (Mmin = 69, with M ± σ = 109.42 ± 13.90). Respondents generally favorably assess their emotional and personal well-being. However, isolated cases of emotional and personal distress were identified (SEPWB-9. Mmin = 18, at M ± σ = 29.50 ± 4.93; SEPWB-24 Mmin = 55, at M ± σ = 82.25 ± 11.26). According to the results of the SEPWB-9 and SEPWB-24 methods, it is possible to predict the total indicator "resilience" of the Resilience Test (the probability of the forecast being correct is 58% according to the indicators of the SEPWB-9 method and 69% according to the indicators of the SEPWB-24 method). The resilience of cadets of the Institute of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia is closely related to their emotional and personal well-being (p ≤ 0.001). Conclusion. The resilience test and the SEPWB-24 methodology can be included in the list of additional methods of professional psychological selection, as well as in the list of methods of in-depth psychodiagnostic examination of cadets of state educational institutions of higher professional education of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia with the III category of professional psychological fitness.

Background Previous investigations by our group have consistently identified important sex differences in HRQOL outcomes of patients with CAD with women reporting poorer HRQOL compared with men. The purpose of this study was to extend our previous work to determine whether sex differences and/or associations in bivariate analyses may provide insight in the modeling of health outcomes data. Method A descriptive analysis of the variables was performed. Sex differences on all variables were examined using t test and Chi-square analyses. The relationships between all clinical, demographic, socio-demographic and HRQOL outcome variables were examined stratified by sex. Results 7062, 1- year HRQOL questionnaires were collected on patients catheterized between Jan 2006 and Dec 2009. 20.8% (1468 of 7062) were from women. Statistically significant sex differences were noted in 10/23 clinical and all 8 of the sociodemographic variables measured. A critical sex difference in the nature of the relationship between depression scores and age was identified. Whereas a quadratic relationship was seen in the men's group, the relationship in the women's group was cubic (figure 1). This implies that analyzing data by including sex, age, and depression scores in the same model will in essence sacrifice the unique nature of the relationship for at least one sex. Conclusions Our data suggests that sex-based analyses should be conducted particularly when modeling predictors of HRQOL outcome. Failing to do so may result in misleading conclusions that will miss opportunities to intervene early in clinically treatable circumstances and to improve the outcomes of men and women with CAD.

: Background and Objectives: This research analyzes the relationship between the lack of group support and burnout syndrome in workers of the State Security Forces and Corps, considering the role of personality traits in this relationship. In particular, it is hypothesized that neuroticism will moderate this relationship. Materials and Methods: Participants were 237 workers from the State Security Forces and Corps dedicated to tasks of citizen security. Results: The results show that neuroticism moderates the relationship between lack of group support and the three components of the burnout syndrome: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal fulfillment. Conclusions: The findings are discussed, suggesting intervention strategies for the improvement of the agents’ personal well-being.

The relationship between activity engagement and well-being can vary based on individual characteristics, and it is important to identify moderating factors to support the development and implementation of aging services. The current study examined whether the relationship between activity engagement and well-being depends on older adults’ savoring ability, that is, the ability to attend to positive experiences and to engage in emotion regulation strategies to enhance positive feelings during those experiences. A total of 5,128 older adults ( Mage = 83.86 years) completed measures of activity engagement, savoring, and well-being (i.e., life satisfaction, depression, loneliness, purpose, and health). Multilevel modeling analyses revealed that activity engagement and savoring independently predicted better functioning across all well-being measures. However, savoring moderated the relationship between activity engagement and four well-being measures (life satisfaction, depression, loneliness, and purpose). Findings suggest that older adults with low activity engagement may particularly benefit from savoring-skills training to enhance their psychological well-being.

Research  background  and  hypothesis.  Previous  research  has  proved  that  children  engaged  in  sports  easier integrate into the society and their psychological well-being is much higher,  sports activities can help them resist to the harmful influence of their peers and prevent them from engaging into delinquent behavior. However, there still is a lack of a studies providing evidence about factors that determine the expression of compulsion. Hypothesis: The level of self-esteem and self-confidence of adolescent athletes influences the occurrence of bullying and the initiation of it.  Research  aim  was  to  disclose  the  relationship  between  the  level  of  adolescent  athletes’  self-esteem,  self-confidence and the occurrence of bullying.Research methods. The study applied I. Shostrom’s modified self-esteem scale questionnaire and the adapted Bullying Scale for Schoolchildren. Research  results.  Results  showed  a  weak  correlation  between  bullying  and  self-esteem  levels  (γ =  0.24; p > 0.05). We found a weak adverse relationship between initiating bullying and self-assessment levels (γ = –0.16; p > 0.05), weak adverse correlation between experienced bullying and self-confidence levels (γ = –0.15; p > 0.05) and a weak linear relationship between initiating bullying and self-confidence (γ = 0.20; p > 0.05).Discussion and conclusions. Contrary to what we expected, we observed that athlete adolescents with the high levels of self-esteem suffered from bullying sometimes and often. Research findings suggest that adolescents who tend to initiate bullying demonstrated moderate and low levels of self-esteem. Most of athlete adolescents admitted that that did not initiate bullying or if they did, that was done only occasionally. It was found that adolescents with high and moderate self-confidence levels experienced bullying occasionally or not at all. Some athletes with low self-confidence levels professed that they suffered from bullying more often, and they also admitted that they often initiated bullying themselves. In our research we were unable failed to provide evidence which would prove that sports activities impacted or influenced adolescents’ bullying initiatives or experiences; therefore further research is needed to determine whether self-esteem and other internal personality qualities could affect the expression of bullying among non-athlete adolescents. Keywords: aggression, adolescents’ self- assessment, self-confidence.

Based on a simultaneous husbands and wives survey, the article examines the relationship between the desired and actual level of per capita family income (along with housing conditions) in connection with the spouses’ socio-demographic characteristics. Most families with three and more children are characterized by low incomes, which require the introduction of material compensation as part of social policy. On the other hand, the task of family and demographic policy is to increase the current family need for two children, for which economic incentives are not enough. In this regard, noneconomic measures of influence are required; hence, the focus is on the analysis of value-motivational aspects of behavior, that is spousal self-assessment of desired and actual wellbeing. An increase in the degree of the gap between them first increases reproductive orientations and actual childbearing, and then lowers them. Socially significant is the critical value of the gap - the excess of the desired income over the actual up to three times, which determines the orientation of family behavior. Taking into account this empirical, well-grounded relationship is important from a practical point of view.
