The article is devoted to the questions of finding ways to optimize the logistics system of postal and courier services by improving terminal complexes. It is determined that the terminal as an element of the logistics system and as part of the logistics chain forms the basic and technical requirements for the warehousing system. It is emphasized that changing consumer demands in the direction of reducing costs, increasing speed and expanding service requires a change in approaches to building a terminal system. It is established that terminals perform a significant number of functions, each of which requires consideration of such two important environmental factors as urbanization and increasing consumer demands. This requires a transition from the e-commerce model to the service center model. The article is proposed to move from the model of e-commerce to the model of the service center. Such advantages of the service model are determined : service of both business clients and consumers; availability of a sorting depot; mini fulfilment; minor automation that does not require increased implementation and maintenance costs. It is established that the planning of the terminal area is influenced by the following factors: size and geometry of the site, height difference in different parts of the territory, size and number of accepted vehicles, cargo volume for sorting and further storage, regulatory requirements of various government agencies. The advantages and disadvantages of such models of terminal organization are analyzed: the terminal with ring sorting and two-way loading; the terminal with linear sorting and one-way loading; the terminal with linear sorting and two-way loading; hexagonal terminal with ring sorting; L-shaped terminal with linear sorting and two-way loading; n-shaped terminal with linear sorting and three-way loading. Based on the proposed models, a terminal model is proposed, which will include the best structural elements of all the above models. The proposed model corresponds to the most flexible cargo handling system with double-sided loading, relatively lower sorting costs and increased capacity if necessary and a significant area for storage and assembly of shipments. The basic idea is to combine the processes of fulfilling and postal sorting in the project of one building, which reduces the processes in the supply chain and reduces the cost of construction of storage and terminal complex.

This chapter examines how to control the extreme events happening when a complex adaptive logistics system is implemented in used product remanufacturing, particularly in the used products transhipment stage. The chapter starts with an introduction about the necessity of introducing the complex adaptive logistics system. Then, the related studies dealing with similar issues are discussed in the background section. Next, the focal problem of this chapter is stated in the problem statement section. A detailed description about the approach (i.e., the agent-based modelling and simulation) can be found in the proposed methodology section. Right after this, an illustrative simulation example is discussed in the experimental study section. The potential research directions regarding the main problem considered in this chapter are highlighted in the future trends section. Finally, the conclusions drawn in the last section close this chapter.

In the logistics system, the Internet of things information transmission problem is researched. The ZigBee, 3G technologies are fused in the radio frequency identification (RFID), a set of logistics networking platform is designed based on 3G-ZigBee, with the functions such as multipoint automatic identification, real-time positioning, wireless network and RFID. The logistics system is designed, the routing algorithm of logistics system is analyzed, the improved LEACH algorithm is proposed, the NS component is used for the simulation analysis. Through the simulation results, the best balance point between energy consumption and network density is obtained, the parameters of the logistics system are optimized. Finally, software design idea and workflow are presented, the purpose of the remote control is achieved.

The aim of this paper is the analysis of the contemporary state of implementation of artificial intelligence in the area of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), and a proposal of further use of artificial intelligence systems in this area in the future. We analyse three essential areas in which artificial intelligence systems are currently being implemented to some extend – path following, object detection and tracking, and anti—collision systems. In each mentioned area we apply different solution methods, technical requirements, but also advantages and disadvantages of those solutions. We present an overview of artificial intelligence as a scientific branch. Finally, we present an overview of how artificial intelligence in the field of UAV could be implemented in the future, based on an analysis of the current state and direction of research and development in the present. We describe the possibilities of use artificial intelligence systems in two areas that are currently receiving the most attention at concept level, namely the flight of autonomous UAV swarms and the improvement of communication and data exchange between individual UAVs using artificial intelligence.

The purpose of this chapter is to present the traditional methods used in operational man-agement. The methods described include benchmarking, outsourcing, Just-In-Time, kaizen, Total Quality Management, MRP I, MRP II, and core competencies developed in various periods of the 20th century to improve the planning process and efficient management of the flow of resources, goods and information. Benchmarking consists of comparing the processes and practices used by one’s own enterprise with those used in enterprises considered to be the best in the analysed field. Outsourcing means separating from the organizational structure of the enterprise some functions performed by them independently and transferring them to other entities for execution. Just-In-Time is used to reduce work in progress and inventory levels in production and warehouse processes. Kaizen and TQM are based on the continuous diagnosis and improvement of all elements of the company. MRP methods are based on computer systems and clearly defined, inter alia, the volume of demand, order fulfilment time and provide other data relevant to the company’s logistics system and its operations. Core competencies are company-specific skills that are difficult to copy or win over to competitors. The authors focused primarily on the presentation of the main goals, principles of operation, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the selected methods in operational management.

Background: The collection of temperature is very important in life. Thermistor temperature sensors are an important part of the temperature acquisition system. Thermistor temperature sensors can convert the temperature signal into an electrical signal for output. Due to the different application fields and technical requirements, the shape, function and structure of thermistor temperature sensors are very different. Objective: The purpose of this study is to summarize and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of various devices from a large number of documents and patents. Methods: In this paper, the patents and the latest research of thermistor temperature sensors are reviewed. Results: By summarizing the characteristics of a large number of thermistor temperature sensors and analyzing the problems, the development of thermistor temperature sensors are prospected. Conclusion: Thermistor temperature sensors are widely used. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out special structural design and technical research for thermistor temperature sensors in different application fields. At the same time, with the development of technology, intelligent sensors and multi-functional sensors are an inevitable development trend.

Objectives: Based on the principles of sports biomechanics and long jump technical requirements, the technical factors affecting performance are discussed. Provide reference for the teaching, training and scientific research of the long jump project in China, improve and perfect the special sports technology and quality. Methods: In this study, the excellent men’s long jump athletes at home and abroad in recent years are taken as research objects, and the sports biomechanical method is used on the basis of collecting and compiling large amounts of data in previous studies. Results: This paper makes a comparative analysis of the characteristics of run-up and Take-off Techniques of Chinese and foreign elite male long jumpers, in order to find out the advantages and disadvantages of Chinese athletes and provide reference data for the training of Chinese long jumpers. Conclusion: The research shows that the take-off technique is the key in the whole long jump. The take-off angle is an important factor that restricts the performance of long jumpers, and the stability of the brake point when the board is attached is more important.

This paper studies the problem of inventory and distribution joint optimization for two level logistics system of a supplier and multiple clients by building the model of inventory and distribution joint optimization based on VMI to reach the goal of minimizing the total system cost. Moreover, this article not only designs the iterative algorithm to solve the model, and determine the optimal inventory and distribution program from the perspective of system optimization, but also verifies the validity of the model and algorithm through using MATLAB software.
