The aim of this paper is the analysis of the contemporary state of implementation of artificial intelligence in the area of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), and a proposal of further use of artificial intelligence systems in this area in the future. We analyse three essential areas in which artificial intelligence systems are currently being implemented to some extend – path following, object detection and tracking, and anti—collision systems. In each mentioned area we apply different solution methods, technical requirements, but also advantages and disadvantages of those solutions. We present an overview of artificial intelligence as a scientific branch. Finally, we present an overview of how artificial intelligence in the field of UAV could be implemented in the future, based on an analysis of the current state and direction of research and development in the present. We describe the possibilities of use artificial intelligence systems in two areas that are currently receiving the most attention at concept level, namely the flight of autonomous UAV swarms and the improvement of communication and data exchange between individual UAVs using artificial intelligence.

Soil erosion (by water) is a major land degradation process that may threat the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by its negative impact on environment and human well-being. Soil erosion research demands scientific methods, tools and techniques to assess soil erosion with more accuracy and reliability. Soil erosion research has had experienced crude field-based techniques in early twentieth century to model-based approaches since the 1970s and very recent machine learning and artificial intelligence models to predict soil erosion susceptibility and risk. The paper aims to review the trend in methodological development in soil erosion by water through time. The brief background of different approaches, their relative advantages and disadvantages are reviewed. Depending on the time of establishment and wide application the approaches are classified and represented as erosion plot/runoff approach, erosion pin technique followed by environmental tracer method and model approach in combination with Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information System (GIS). Recent advancement in artificial intelligence and application of statistical techniques have a great potential to contribute in soil erosion research by identifying various degrees of susceptibility in large scale and also to quantify the erosion rate with high accuracy. The Remote sensing (RS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) contribute to develop regional scale data base with exploration of real time data and spatial analysis. The combination of RS & GIS and process-based models must be more effective than the traditional soil erosion model in the context of prediction with greater reliability and validity. The future research on soil erosion is better to focus on the theoretical analysis and development of erosion prediction model with more quantitative refinement and to model the future.

AbstractThe future of radiology is disproportionately linked to the applications of artificial intelligence (AI). Recent exponential advancements in AI are already beginning to augment the clinical practice of radiology. Driven by a paucity of review articles in the area, this article aims to discuss applications of AI in nononcologic IR across procedural planning, execution, and follow-up along with a discussion on the future directions of the field. Applications in vascular imaging, radiomics, touchless software interactions, robotics, natural language processing, postprocedural outcome prediction, device navigation, and image acquisition are included. Familiarity with AI study analysis will help open the current “black box” of AI research and help bridge the gap between the research laboratory and clinical practice.

This policy brief describes how trends we already see today—both in newly deployed artificial intelligence systems and in older technologies—show how damaging the AI accidents of the future could be. It describes a wide range of hypothetical but realistic scenarios to illustrate the risks of AI accidents and offers concrete policy suggestions to reduce these risks.

This paper proposes an investigation of the trend concerning both to innovation in the field of retail trade and involvement of technology in streamlining the purchasing process, starting from the example given by Amazon- that is, implementing artificial intelligence and sensor-based systems in cashless stores, Amazon Go. The purpose of this scientific approach is to understand the influence of technological developments within the retail field and to analyze the current state of innovation in this industry for a possible shaping of the future buying experience.

Technology moves from the sex toy to the sex robot, a sex doll with artificial intelligence (AI) implemented. It is not a surprise idea to move robot as a servant to a sexual partner. As AI becomes more advanced and interaction between human and robot becomes more personal, sex and marriage with robot could result in the future. The authors conducted survey to discuss current and future trend of sex robot, its advantages and disadvantages. This paper also presents falsification theorems and implications to business, human social, moral, and psychological life caused by sex robot. This paper closes the discussion with further works of important ethical issues to be considered with deontology or consequentialism, and suggests to concern of sex robot regulations rather than banning it.

This article discusses the effectiveness of the state program of renovation of residential buildings of the first period of industrial housing construction in Moscow, calculated until 2032.The main task of the state program is to prevent an emergency situation in the residential sector of the city. The current state of the buildings indicates a decrease in the economic efficiency of their operation. The sub-programs of the state program of renovation are revealed and the technique of calculation of economic efficiency of renovation is offered. The implementation of the state program of renovation will show all the advantages and disadvantages of the decisions that will be taken into account in the future when the renovation of 9-12-14-16 storey apartment buildings in Moscow. The experience of renovation should be extended in the future to the regions.

In their third decade, depending on one’s definition, eBooks are still in their incunabula moment. While eBooks began to emerge prior to the year 2000, they began to garner a more robust market after the launch of Amazon’s Kindle and Apple’s iPhone, both in 2007, and Apple’s iPad in 2010. At least by some measures, eBooks today are thriving, and are bound to continue to evolve, just as publishing itself has evolved over more than five centuries. This article examines the current state and potential future of digital publishing, including enhanced eBooks, hypertext, interactivity, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, data- and gesture-based manipulation, and other evolutionary features that transform the eBook into a fundamentally different, immersive experience in reading and engagement.

Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 2129-R of August 19, 2020 approved the Concept to regulate relations in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics technologies until 2024. This document currently represents a set of legal perspectives in this area and it also defines the framework for creating a multidimensional legal platform in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence. The concept offers different ways to regulate artificial intelligence and robotics systems, in particular, it considers issues related to liability insurance for damage caused by artificial intelligence systems or robots, data exchange and personal data protection systems, problems of exporting artificial intelligence systems and robots, and so on. Analysis of the main provisions of the Concept allowed us to conclude that, given the variety of directions taken into account the document, we can say that, overall, the document is quite logical in the framework of the issue under consideration and with some refinement and additions of individual sections it may take its rightful place among similar foreign analogues.

Inhuman Power: Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Capitalism by Nick Dyer-Witheford, Atle Mikkola Kjøsen, and James Steinhoff is part of the Digital Barricades series that addresses concerns in the nexus of digital media, geopolitics, and political economy. In this wider context, Inhuman Capital assesses the relationship of AI and capitalism with a twofold purpose. On an empirical level, the book surveys the current state of AI research and development while, on a theoretical level, it explores in depth the utility of Marxist thought toward an analysis of a capitalist project beyond and without human involvement. Despite their unambiguous ideological leanings, the authors’ deliberate situating of the work among literature in the discourse, the attention to underlying political economies, and a detailed overview of AI technologies - and this can be said at the outset of the review - are certain to broaden the prospective readership of Inhuman Power beyond academic circles.
