The introduction of entrepreneurship course as a core module in higher education institutions (HEIs) under the Malaysia Education Blueprint (MEB) 2015–2025 has not increased entrepreneurship initiatives. This is partly attributed to ineffective implementation of entrepreneurship skills in the HEI curriculum. Although attempts were made to delineate the central phenomena of entrepreneurship learning to develop entrepreneurial competencies and intention, there was no consistent outcome. This comparative study used empirical data to investigate the contribution of multidisciplinary learning environment and the use of “Through” methodology as an entrepreneurial education pedagogy to develop entrepreneurial competencies and intention among students. A two-phase stratified single-stage cluster sampling approach was adopted that involved stratifying the entire population of 260 second-year degree students into learning environment strata and partitioning the strata into mutually exclusive entrepreneurial education pedagogy clusters. Data was collected from every single subject within the clusters. Descriptive analytical statistics was used in gauging the effectiveness of the research learning environment and typology pedagogy. The findings revealed that even though entrepreneurial intention remains a challenge, multidisciplinary learning environment that involves students from different disciplinary programs doing entrepreneurial ventures such as experiential learning and taking calculated business risks are most effective in inculcating entrepreneurial competencies. This study has shown that having the appropriate learning environment and typology pedagogy, including consideration of the psychological appeal of students are essential in nurturing entrepreneurial competencies among students. The outcome of this study provides a better understanding for both, HEI academicians and the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) in making entrepreneurship learning more relevant to produce students with entrepreneurial competencies.

Entrepreneurship has become an important academic field leading to a growing interest of scientists in the study, development and evaluation of entrepreneurial competencies of young people. Business based aspects of entrepreneurial competencies relate to the development of personality traits, student skills that influence one’s personal development for successful entrepreneurs. The main purpose of this paper is to examine the entrepreneurial competencies of students during their studies and how they relate to their socio-demographic characteristics. The research was conducted in November 2019 on a sample of 172 respondents and included first-year undergraduate students of business economics and undergraduate studies of digital marketing at institution of higher education. The results of the research show a positive statistically significant correlation between all entrepreneurial competencies of students. Statistically significant differences in entrepreneurial competencies according to the gender of students were found. And finally, statistically significant differences in entrepreneurial competencies between undergraduate students of business economics and undergraduate studies in digital marketing were shown. It is expected of students with a higher degree of management competencies attending entrepreneurial education more capable of becoming future entrepreneurs. The primary contribution of this paper is to point out the need to increase students’ awareness of the positive impact of entrepreneurial education programs that contribute to the development of such competencies.

Entrepreneurship is the engine of a nation's economic, cultural, and social development. Since Higher Education Institutions play a crucial role, it is important to analyze the academy's entrepreneurial education effectiveness in promoting entrepreneurial intention amongst students. This study aims to analyze the effect of the education agenda of a Higher Education Institution on the students’ entrepreneurial intention, exploring the effect of self-efficacy as a mediator. A quantitative, cross-sectional, and non-experimental study was performed. A sample of 176 Portuguese higher education students fulfilled the “Entrepreneurial Motivations Survey,” which includes the HEInnovate Self-Assessment Scale, the Self-Efficacy Scale, and the Entrepreneurial Intention Scale. Data analysis was performed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), AMOS, and PROCESS software. Through structural equation models, it was created a mediation model to assess the impact of the University education agenda on the entrepreneurial intention of the students. All scales showed adequate validity and reliability. The Faculty was not perceived as an entrepreneurial academy by the students. The results did not show a direct effect of the entrepreneurial education agenda on the students’ entrepreneurial intention. The effects emerged through self-efficacy, which plays a mediating effect between entrepreneurial education agenda on the students’ entrepreneurial intention. The entrepreneurship agenda didn’t directly influence the entrepreneurial intention. It is mandatory to offer a rich agenda in order to improve the students’ entrepreneurial competencies, preparing them to strive in the competitive market, in which self-efficacy plays an important role.

This study investigated the predictive relationship between proactive personality and entrepreneurial intention and the extent to which such a relationship was moderated by entrepreneurial education. Using sample 200 undergraduates students at ten universities in Semarang by quota sampling technique. The results showed that proactive personality was significantly and positively associated with entrepreneurial intention. Entrepreneurial education related significantly with entrepreneurial intention. It was observed that entrepreneurial education significantly moderated the relationship between proactive personality and entrepreneurial intention. The findings were consistent with the personality theory of entrepreneurship. The implications of this research can be used for those who strive in higher education, how they supposed to design the right pattern of entrepreneurship education to encourage more students improve their entrepreneurial intention.

Purpose of the study: This study examines the impact of creativity and entrepreneurship education on student entrepreneurial intentions at Jakarta State University. Methodology: This study, we applied quantitative research which conducting in two-phase First, we perform exploratory factor analysis test, and the second phase, we confirmatory factor analysis using AMOS version 18. Main Findings: This study carried out the findings that there is an impact on creativity on entrepreneurial education, lectures on individual creativity, entrepreneurial education on entrepreneurial intention, and creativity supported in the university on individual creativity. Furthermore, creativity supported not impact on entrepreneurial intention, and individual creativity has not to impact on entrepreneurial intention. Applications of this study: This research can be used by university leaders to increase students’ intention to become entrepreneurs through optimizing entrepreneurship education and creativity support from universities. Novelty/Originality of this study: In this study, we found that there was an influence of lecturer on creativity on entrepreneurship education. Previous researchers have never revealed this finding. Our research also found the impact of individual creativity on the intention of entrepreneurship. This finding has not been revealed in some previous studies.

In Algeria, the debate on the role of higher education is flourishing; it is very much concerned with meeting the needs of the labor market, youth unemployment rates, and promoting knowledge transfer between university and industry. Our study offered an overview of higher education system in Algeria, and tried to evaluate the influence of entrepreneurship courses taken at university and outside it on supporting student entrepreneurial intention. This study was applied at the faculties of Business and Economics, in three Algerian universities, from November 2019 to January 2020, on a sample of 293 comprised students of the 1st to 3rd year. By conducting the ASTEE questionnaire which contained 57 questions covering multiple dimensions including demographic questions, we confirmed that there were significant differences in all dimensions between Algerian entrepreneurially educated students and European entrepreneurially also non-entrepreneurially educated respondents, which explain the crucial role of university in promoting entrepreneurship. Our results affirmed that, unlike males, females tend to be innovative employees than being entrepreneurs.     Despite of the satisfactory result, Algeria is invited to be keener in the use of modern methods and in the use of specialized frameworks in teaching entrepreneurship, In addition Algeria should pay more concern to generalize entrepreneurial education in other specializations of university.

PurposeThe aim of this study is to investigate the significance of entrepreneurial education on entrepreneurial intention between students of technical and nontechnical higher education institution after exposure to entrepreneurial education.Design/methodology/approachThis study adopts the TPB model and tests the difference in intention between two different samples after they have been exposed to entrepreneurial education. Therefore, the data were analyzed using linear regression and students T-test. Data were collected from students studying at technical and nontechnical higher education institutions in Nigeria at the end of the semester to verify that they have been exposed to entrepreneurial education.FindingsThe findings reveal a weak significant relationship between entrepreneurial education and entrepreneurial intention among nontechnical students, and no significant relationship was found among technical students after entrepreneurial education exposure. Further findings reveal no significant relationship between entrepreneurial education and entrepreneurial intention when the samples are combined.Practical implicationsIn response to the volatile economy and uncertain employment opportunities for graduates in Nigeria, the ministry of education and the management of higher education institutions (universities and polytechnics) have to integrate into the entrepreneurial education curriculum change of mindset, needed entrepreneurial skills, capabilities and entrepreneurial competence that is able to nurture the intention of students toward entrepreneurship opportunities identification and exploration in their immediate and extended markets.Originality/valueThis study provides a comprehensive empirical evidence of effectiveness of entrepreneurial education and intention between students with technical and nontechnical education background after entrepreneurial education exposure. This study is among the first that will put the survey timing into consideration. Therefore, fills important gap in the entrepreneurship literature.

In the era of digital learning, multimedia-based classroom has been commonly used in higher education including Malaysian higher education institutions. A case study has been performed to evaluate web-based learning using Level 1 to 3 of Kirkpatrick's model in a multi-disciplinary course at Multimedia University, Malaysia. In this study, mixed method research was employed in which triangulation was performed from multiple sources of data collection to give deeper understanding. Students perceived that learning with multimedia was enjoyable. They were also motivated in learning and engaged through the use of web module as multimedia was perceived to motivate them and make learning fun. Students showed significant improvements in their knowledge based on the pre-test and post-test results on learning evaluation. Students were perceived to transfer the learning from web-based learning into the learning outcome. The systematic evaluation can provide the feedback that educators and institution as a whole need to improve the learning environment and programme quality. This study contributes to the research field by adding another perspective in evaluations of web-based learning. It also provides empirical evidence on student perspectives, learning and behaviour in a private university. It demonstrated that the Kirkpatrick's model is useful as an evaluation tool to be used in higher education.

Education is a potent force in developing a child into skilled, effective, productive and law-abiding citizen. It is therefore imperative that the environment for the education of the child is conducive and congenial for his growth and development. The aim of the study was to compare students’ preferences for learning environment on the basis of School Types. The study adopted the descriptive method of the Casual – Comparative type. The sample comprised of 574 standard VIII English medium students from schools. The tools used for the study were Preferred Learning Environment Scale by Fraser (1996) and Hemisphericity Dominance Test by Venkataraman. ANOVA and ‘t’ test was used to compare students’ preference for learning environment on the basis of hemisphericity and gender respectively. The findings are discussed in detail in the paper.
