We are conducting distance education due to the pandemic process that we are experiencing. This study has been performed with the purpose of determining what kind of attitudes students who experience this process are displaying and the factors affecting these attitudes. The attitudes of university students studying at a private university in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus according to age, gender, grade level, internet connection problem, ability to use technology, suitability of distance education environment, and whether it is efficient or not were examined. Random sampling method was used in this research, which was conducted using the relational survey model, one of the quantitative survey models. The sample of the study is 128 university students, 64 men and 64 women studying at a private university. The data of the research were collected online using the personal information form and the Distance Education Attitude Scale prepared by the researchers. SPSS 25.0 software was used for statistical analysis of research data. The scores received by university students who have high level of internet connection problems from the Distance Education Attitude Scale were lower than other university students. The aim of this study is to investigate students in classes 1-2-3-4, studying Pyschological Guidance and Counselling (PGC) at a university in T.R.N.C. (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) in their relationships with their parents and their attitudes towards marriage. The study includes 325 students and was conducted during the spring of 2015-2016. ‘Personal information forms’, ‘İnönü Marriage Attitudes Scale, ‘Attitudes towards Parents Scale I and II’ have been used in order to collect research data. The viewpoints of the student PCG group, who work with child and family, have been particularly focused in connection to all of these. The findings revealed that female students’ attitudes towards their mothers are better compared to that of male students. However, in terms of gender, no connection was found between attitude towards their father and their attitude towards marriage. As female PCG students’ attitude towards their mother increases, so too has their attitude towards their father and their attitudes towards marriage. For the men whose parents are still together (not separated), there is no link between their strong attiudes towards their parents and their attitude towards marriage. It has come to light that female students, whose parents are separated, have a stronger attitude towards their mother and father. No connection was found between the students’ parents being married or having separate living arrangements and the students’ gender. Male students with parents who live separately have a stronger approach towards their their mother and father.

This study aimed to examine the relationship between the level of self-disclosure of university students in their loving relationships and their loving style. The research was conducted at the Faculty of Education of a private university in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the 2019-2020 school year. This research is a descriptive study based on the relational screening model with a total of 186 students, 135 women and 51 men, selected with appropriate sampling method. The Self-Disclosure Scale was used to measure the level of self-disclosure of students, the Attitudes to Love Scale-Short Form to measure their attitudes towards love and the form of personal information elaborated by the researcher for demographic characteristics. As a result of the findings obtained in the study, there was no significant difference in the level of self-disclosure in the students' loving relationships in relation to demographic characteristics. It was found that there was a significant difference in the subdimension of affective love according to the frequency of the encounter with the partner and the subdimension of love.

This study aims to a cross-cultural comparison of teachers' attitudes towards educational research in Turkey and Kosovo. The study is carried out according to the descriptive survey model, which is one of the quantitative research models. The study group consists of a total of 336 teachers 186 teachers from Turkey (Istanbul and Batman) and 150 teachers from Kosovo (Prizren) working in the academic year of 2018-2019. As a data collection tool, “Teacher Attitude Scale for Educational Researches” and “Personal Information Form” is used to determine the demographic characteristics of teachers. The data is analyzed with the SPSS statistics program. The data is analyzed by independent groups’t-test and one-way analysis of variance. According to the findings, it is revealed that in Turkey, the teachers' attitudes towards educational research are "high level", while in Kosovo, teachers' attitudes towards educational research are "moderate level". Moreover, as a result of cross-cultural comparisons, a significant difference is discovered between teachers' attitudes towards educational research. It is determined that this significant difference is in the sub-dimensions of the necessity of educational research and the applicability of educational research.

This study, it was aimed to examine the attitudes of university students receiving distance education towards distance education in terms of various demographic characteristics. The survey method, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study. 764 university students who were selected by the criterion sampling method and who received distance education in the COVID-19 pandemic participated in the study. In the collection of data, the Attitude Scale towards Distance Education was used and the data were collected online with the prepared form. Various statistical analyses were made on the collected data and the results were discussed within the framework of research questions. As a result of the analysis, it was concluded that university students' attitudes towards distance education were low. It has been observed that the scores of the scale of attitude towards distance education differ in terms of gender and grade level. It was also observed in the study that having a computer and internet connection at home and the level of participation in the virtual classrooms had a positive effect on the attitude towards distance education. In this period when distance education is not a choice but a necessity, it is recommended that the education to be provided should be planned well to achieve the expected quality and to increase the level of success. It is thought that these results obtained from the study will contribute to distance education institutions and planners.

The aim of this research is to determine teachers’ attitude levels towards assessment and evaluation who teach Turkish as a foreign language and to examine them in terms of various variables. Survey method, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. Teachers (n=233) who teach Turkish in various institutions participated in the research. “Personal Information Form” prepared by researchers and “Assessment and Evaluation Attitude Scale for Teachers” developed by Tezci (2019) were used as data collection tools in the research. As a result of the research, it was determined that on average the Turkish teachers’ attitude scores towards assessment and evaluation is at a “high” level with 4.11. In addition, a significant difference was found between the Turkish teachers’ attitudes towards assessment and evaluation and the variables such as professional experience, receiving training for assessment and evaluation in language teaching, analising of prepared exams in terms of assessment and evaluation and evaluation and perceiving themselves as literate in assessment and evaluation. No significant difference was found between the attitudes of those who teach Turkish towards assessment in terms of the faculty they graduated from, the institutions where they were employed, regular exam preparation status, the hardest skill to assess, and the hardest skill to evaluate. Although attitudes of teachers towards assessment and evaluation are found at a “high” level in the research, taking into consideration the fact that there are many deficiencies in terms of assessment and evaluation in teaching Turkish as a foreign language and 46% of the teachers in this study consider themselves moderately literate in terms of assessment and evaluation, suggestions were made that it is necessary to work on what other factors affect teachers’ assessment and evaluation literacy

The aim of this study is to determine university students’ views on planning and conducting lectures in distance education, teaching materials, communication situations, and the difficulties they experience. A descriptive survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study. Within the scope of the research, a distance education student satisfaction questionnaire developed based on the experiences of the researcher himself and an information form containing the personal information of the participants were used to collect data. The data collection tool was prepared over Google forms and delivered to 1,632 university students via What Sapp and mail. Since the study was prepared in descriptive and scanning type, descriptive statistics, t-test, and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used in the analysis of the data obtained. Descriptive statistics were used in the analysis of the first, third, fifth, and sixth questions; T-test and ANOVA were used in the analysis of the second and fourth questions. According to the findings of the research, it is seen that the anxiety of the students participating in the research is concentrated on the lectures and exams. Students with self-discipline overcome this process positively, while students without self-discipline often experience problems.

This research paper intends to investigate the attitudes of Yemeni university students towards using Google Classroom as a learning tool. It also aims to explore any similarities and differences between graduate and undergraduate students and between males and females in terms of their attitudes towards using Google Classroom as a learning tool. This study employed a quantitative approach. One hundred and twenty students of the fourth level of the B.Ed. program and forty students enrolled in the M.Ed. program at the Department of English in the College of Education at Sana’a University in Yemen participated in this study during the academic year 2018/2019. Data were collected using a questionnaire whose analysis revealed a positive attitude towards using Google Classroom as a learning tool. The findings of this study indicated that the highest mean average among the five components of the attitude scale was the Behavioral Engagement (BE) (M= 4.09), followed by Developing Language Skills (M= 4.04) and the Linguistics Confidence (M= 3.92). Finally came the Attitude to Learning Linguistics with Technology (M= 3.76) and the Technology Confidence (M= 3.56). This study concluded that there was a statistically significant difference between the mean of the undergraduate and graduate students towards using Google Classroom as a learning tool in favor of the graduate students. Furthermore, there was no statistically significant difference between male and female students in terms of their attitudes towards using Google Classroom. This study ends with some pedagogical implications and directions for future research studies. Keywords Google classroom, students’ attitudes, gender, linguistics courses

The use of Facebook in everyday life has become widespread all around the world regardless of countries and cultures. The largest group of Facebook users consists of young people, particularly university students. This study investigated the attitudes of university students toward Facebook, their major reasons for using this social media application in everyday life, and the factors affecting the types of desired relationships with Facebook friends. A survey consisting of 63 items about demographics of participants and their preferences for the use of Facebook was administered to collect data. The sample of the study included 924 undergraduate students from a large public university in North Cyprus. A number of descriptive and inferential statistical techniques were employed to analyze data in relation to the research questions. Results suggested that the students generally had positive attitudes toward Facebook, although there were certain differences in terms of demographics. The primary reason for using Facebook was interpersonal communications with close friends. The most powerful factor affecting the types of relationships in Facebook was perceived quality of communication and/or socialization. Along with the other findings, implications of the results for future research were discussed.

This study investigates the differences on Financial Behaviour among Albanian university students based on their family income. The main objectives of this study are: i) firstly, to assess the level of financial behaviour of Albanian university students; ii) to examine whether the financial behaviour differs based on the level of students family income; and ii) finally, , to provide some conclusions and policy implications with regard to financial behaviour. An instrument comprised of specific and personal questions is administered to 637 students from five public and two private universities in Albania. Factor analysing and Cronbach Alpha test are utilized to assess the validity and reliability of the questionnaire. Data analysis is conducted based on the One Way Welch Anova technique. The outcomes discover that Albanian university students show almost a good financial behaviour which differs based on household income. Students with low or middle family income are revealed to show better financial behaviour in comparison with those who reported to have high level of family income. This study paves the way for future research in Albania and for taking incentives for helping students to shape healthy spending habits.

In a highly populated country like Bangladesh where standards of living are rising steadily, more and more students are pursuing studies at university level.  With only a few publicly funded universities, private universities are now the main avenue for pursuing undergraduate studies. Competition is growing among these universities operating in a heavily regulated sector.  Substantial amounts are often being spent on attracting potential students.  However, without proper research into the area and understanding how students choose their universities, resources may end up being used ineffectively. This conceptual paper aims to identify the factors that students consider when choosing their universities.
