A study was carried out to monitor the effect of different plucking systems on root starch reserve and yield of tea in two cultivars (drought tolerant TRI2025 and moderately drought tolerant TRI2026). Depending on the severity of plucking, four plucking systems were used as treatments namely, mother-leaf plucking, fish-leaf plucking, janam-leaf plucking and estate practice. The cultivar TRI2026 showed significantly higher yield than the drought tolerant cultivar TRI2025. Estate practice produced greater yield in TRI2025 than the other treatments, while in TRI2026 the highest yield was found in fish-leaf plucking system. Although cultivars had no significant effect on root starch reserves, however significantly different found in treatments. About one year after commencing the experiment, for both cultivars higher root starch observed under mother-leaf plucking and the lowest was in janam-leaf plucking.J. Environ. The United States is in a bind. On the one hand, we need millions of additional citizens with at least one year of successful post-secondary experience to adapt to the knowledge economy. Both the Gates and Lumina Foundations, and our President, have championed this goal in different ways. On the other hand, we have a post-secondary system that is trapped between rising costs and stagnant effectiveness, seemingly unable to respond effectively to this challenge. This paper analyzes several aspects of this problem, describes changes in the society that create the basis for solutions, and offers several examples from Kaplan University of emerging practice that suggests what good practice might look like in a world where quality-assured mass higher education is the norm.

The Retailers all over the world are prospering from the burgeoning trend of online shopping. Kurdistan Regional Government is still struggling to grow its e-commerce markets. On the other hands e-commerce in Various countries in the Middle East have some of the world’s highest internet and mobile penetration rates. Alternative payments methods are quickly expanding, and having access to some of the world’s most coveted natural resources that allows countries in their region to have some of the highest GDP in the world. There are several challenges prevalent in the KRG Region market that will require international merchants to develop strategies based on innovation and vigilance. This unique region is plagued with complications many other countries have little to no experience with e-commerce, which highlights the need for retailers to have a deep understanding as to how this region operates before they can begin finding solutions. One of the biggest concerns today's consumers have is the risk of fraud when they are shopping online. With highly sophisticated malware and perceptive cybercriminals, customers' card and bank information can easily be stolen if a merchant does not take the proper security measures. In this paper we summarize all challenges need to be addressed in KRG in order to make correct steps to apply e-commerce in KRG. Finally, the recommendations and framework are proposed for e-commerce to encourage government, organizations, and people to take advantages from e-commerce.

COVID-19 has speedily immersed the globe with 72+ million cases and 1.64 million deaths, in a span of around one year, disturbing and deteriorating almost every sphere of life. This study investigates how students in Pakistan have coped with the COVID-19. Zung’s self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) was used for measuring anxiety and the coping strategies were measured on four strategies i.e., seeking social support, humanitarian, acceptance, and mental disengagement. Among 494 respondents, 61% were females and 77.3% of the students were in the age group of 19–25 years. The study findings indicate that approximately 41 percent of students are experiencing some level of anxiety, including 16% with severe to extreme levels. Seeking social support seemed to be the least preferred coping strategy and that female students seek social support, humanitarian, and acceptance coping strategies more than males. Students used both emotion-based and problem-based coping strategies. The variables of gender, age, ethnicity, level and type of study, and living arrangement of the students were associated with usage of coping strategies. Findings showing that students do not prefer to seek social support. The study outcomes will provide basic data for university policies in Pakistan and the other countries with same cultural contexts to design and place better mental health provisions for students.

AbstractIn August 1961 an aluminum pipe (3.5 cm. internal diameter, 4.2 cm. external diameter) having 92 specially modified socket couplings (5.0 cm. external diameter) sealed with a quick-polymerizing synthetic rubber was sunk 226 m. in a vertical water-filled bore hole in Blue Glacier, Washington. U.S.A. The geometry of threads and mating surfaces of pipe and coupling was designed to cause increasing external water pressure to tighten the seal. One joint at a depth of 66 m. immediately developed an extremely slow leak (probably because of faulty cleaning), but the other 91 joints apparently were sound, as the pipe was free of water to a depth of at least 157 m. when resurveyed after one year.

Through a longitudinal, qualitative study of 55 managers engaged in mobile careers across organizations, industries, and countries, and pursuing a one-year international master’s of business administration (MBA), we build a process model of the crafting of portable selves in temporary identity workspaces. Our findings reveal that contemporary careers in general, and temporary membership in an institution, fuel people’s efforts to craft portable selves: selves endowed with definitions, motives, and abilities that can be deployed across roles and organizations over time. Two pathways for crafting a portable self—one adaptive, the other exploratory—emerged from the interaction of individuals’ aims and concerns with institutional resources and demands. Each pathway involved developing a coherent understanding of the self in relation to others and to the institution that anchored participants to their current organization while preparing them for future ones. The study shows how institutions that host members temporarily can help them craft selves that afford a sense of agentic direction and enduring connection, tempering anxieties and bolstering hopes associated with mobile working lives. It also suggests that institutions serving as identity workspaces for portable selves may remain attractive and extend their cultural influence in an age of workforce mobility.

Abstract. Title of the paper: Level estimation of metabolic parameters in the glucose tolerance test (GTT) of young bulls The metabolic parameters of the glucose tolerance test are suitable for an additional recommendation for the valuation of the breeding bulls before the start of the offspring’s test could be given. Very important is the level of glucose half live to the begin of lactation of the cows. The other limit is the hyperglycemias greater than 10 mmol/l (or 180 mg/dl) in the glucose level in the blood. The glucose half live measured nearly 48 minutes is comparable in the 8th week post partum in lactation of cows with the young bulls in the age one year. Their combination with the pedigree breeding value is leading to increase of information, that could be utilised to the selection of improper bulls if the present results were confirmed.

Peripheral Ameloblastoma (PA) is the rarest variant of ameloblastoma. It differs from the other subtypes of ameloblastoma in its localization: it arises in the soft tissues of the oral cavity coating the tooth bearing bones. Generally, it manifests nonaggressive behavior and it can be treated with complete removal by local conservative excision. In this study we report a case of PA of the maxilla in a 78-year-old female patient and we describe the four different histopathological patterns revealed by histological examination. After local excision and diagnosis, we planned a long term follow-up: in one year no recurrence had been reported. The choice of treatment is illustrated in Discussion.

Abstract Background Percutaneous edge-to-edge mitral valve repair (PMVR) has been proven to be effective for treating patients with functional MR (FMR). However it remains to be answered which patients will benefit more from this method. Novel echocardiographic markers like myocardial work efficiency can be quantified non-invasively and have never been analyzed in this subgroup of patients before. Purpose The purpose of this study is to analyze the myocardial work efficiency in patients treated with PMVR for FMR and identify predictors of clinical response. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 22 high surgical risk (logistic EuroSCORE 28.9 ± 18.2%) consecutive patients (aged 72 ± 8yrs) with functional moderate-to-severe and severe mitral regurgitation (EROA 28.6 ± 14.6mm2, RV 41.7 ± 15.8ml) and reduced LV contractility (EF 32.7 ± 7.5%, GLS -8.8 ± 3.4%). At baseline and 1-year after PMVR or optimal medical treatment (OMT) we assessed echocardiographic parameters such as MR severity, Global Work Index (GWI), Global Constructive Work (GCW), Global Wasted Work (GWW) and Global Work Efficiency (GWE), along with BNP levels and NYHA class status. Results One year after PMVR there was a significant reduction of MR (3.6 ± 0.5 vs 1.8 ± 0.8, p = 0.009) and BNP levels (901 ± 610pg/ml vs 479 ± 385pg/ml, p < 0.001) and significant improvement of NYHA class status (3.0 ± 0.6 to 2.2 ± 0.4, p < 0.001). On the other hand, patients treated with OMT didn’t have any significant change of their MR (3.6 ± 0.5 vs 3.3 ± 1.0), BNP levels (296 ± 114 vs 241 ± 183pg/ml) or NYHA class status (2.6 ± 0.5 vs 2.4 ± 0.5). In device group, there was a preservation of GWI (572 ± 290 vs 609 ± 299mmHg%) and GCW (757 ± 310 vs 789 ± 316mmHg%) and non significant change of GWW and GWE (140 ± 70 vs 150 ± 73mmHg% and 79 ± 9 vs 79 ± 10% respectively, p < 0.05 for all comparisons). On the other hand in medical treatment group there was a significant impairment of GWI (635 ± 263 vs 564 ± 267mmHg%, p = 0.08) and GWE (83 ± 9 vs 76 ± 11%, p = 0.03) and significant increase of GWW (123 ± 90 vs 162 ± 74mmHg%, p < 0.001). Further, baseline GCW was reversely associated with the difference in BNP (r=-0.559, p = 0.038), NYHA class (r=-0.501, p = 0.06) and 6MWT (r=-0.577, p = 0.08) after PMVR, meaning that patients with worse energetics will respond better. Conclusions PMVR is an effective method for treating patients with FMR and preserves myocardial work index after one year of FU in contrast to medically treated patients in whom deterioration is observed.
