The design of a building requires various stages of calculation that consider many aspects so that the results that are in accordance with its functions are not only seen from structural aspects but also economic and aesthetic aspects are also taken into consideration. In building planning, the aesthetic and architectural development in it often leads to irregular / asymmetrical forms of buildings which then cause problems with building seismic irregularities. The building of the Universitas Khairun Postgraduate must be a strong, sturdy educational building and has an attractive and formal architectural appearance. Therefore researchers are interested in examining the structure of the building. The approach in this study is to use a qualitative and quantitative research approach. both approaches are used together or combined, where the approach is used interchangeably. In the first stage using a qualitative approach, so that the architectural concept of building Postgraduate was found. Furthermore, the structure of the building was tested by quantitative methods using the Sap 2000 program. The purpose of this study is to compile the analysis of structural and architectural concepts in the Building of the Universitas Khairun Postgraduate. The purpose of this study discusses how mastery of 4 (four) basic prerequisites of arithmetic which includes the ability to count, make Arithmetic / multiples, complement especially Nines and ten, and the concept of place values in numbers affect students' ability to solve math problems consisting of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and multiplication. The approach in this study uses a descriptive approach, the method used is a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. A qualitative approach is used to describe the basic arithmetic mastery of students including numeracy, making Arithmetic / multiples numbers, complements especially nines and ten, and the concept of place values in numbers. The quantitative approach uses statistical tests with canonical correlation analysis to answer the relationship and influence between understanding of basic arithmetic mastery on the ability to solve math problems related to addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. From the results of the canonical weight and canonical loading function 1, it can be concluded that there is indeed a significant relationship between the dependent variate and the independent variate or basic arithmetic mastery and the students' ability to do math problems is indeed correlated together.

In visitor studies, there has been some debate about the use of qualitative versus quantitative research methods. Many evaluators understand the advantages and disadvantages of both methods, but deciding on the most appropriate method can still be problematic. This article summarizes the tenets of both qualitative and quantitative methods and provides examples of visitor studies for each. It also reviews several research studies that have successfully used mixed methods to evaluate visitors.

The opposition between “quantitative” and “qualitative” perspectives in contemporary social science is an organizational limitation that directs discussions of the topic away from the main issue - the adequacy of any kind of data in respect to the phenomena they represent. This is particularly complicated if the phenomena are known to include inherent dynamics, are modifiable by the research encounter, or develop towards new states of existence. It is often assumed that qualitative and quantitative methods are mutually exclusive alternatives within a methodological process that is itself unified. The article shows that quantitative methods are derivates of a qualitative process of investigation, which itself can lead to the construction of inadequate data. The issue of the representativeness of the data - qualitative or quantitative - remains the central unresolved question for the methodology of the social sciences. Errors in representation can be diminished by correction of methods through direct (experiential) access to the phenomena, guided by the researcher's educated intuition.

Qualitative methods are well suited to advance the understanding of the role of social context in the development of maladaptation and psychopathology. However, they have not been widely used by developmental psychopathologists, despite being utilized in related fields, particularly in the sociological study of crime and delinquency. This article assesses the potential for the increased use of qualitative methods in developmental psychopathology and addresses the challenges involved in integrating them with quantitative research strategies. The interplay of qualitative and quantitative methods in the study of juvenile delinquency is reviewed for relevant lessons about both the utility and the difficulties of integrating the two types of methods. The problem of assessing continuities and discontinuities over the life course in patterns of antisocial behavior is discussed as an example of the challenge of integrating methodological paradigms. Schools of thought about qualitative methods and their relationship to quantitative research paradigms are identified and compared. Examples are discussed of narrative life history interviewing and qualitative observational techniques and of recent research endeavors integrating these qualitative techniques with quantitative data analyses.

Yarkoni argues that one solution is to abandon quantitative methods for qualitative ones. While we agree that qualitative methods are under-valued, we argue that both are necessary for thoroughgoing psycholog-ical research, complementing one another through the use of causal analysis. We illustrate how directed acyclic graphs can bridge qualitative and quantitative methods, thereby fostering understanding between dif-ferent psychological methodologies.

Our research in statistical cognition uses both qualitative and quantitative methods. A mixed method approach makes our research more comprehensive, and provides us with new directions, unexpected insights, and alternative explanations for previously established concepts. In this paper, we review four statistical cognition studies that used mixed methods and explain the contributions of both the quantitative and qualitative components. The four studies investigated concern statistical reporting practices in medical journals, an intervention aimed at improving psychologists’ interpretations of statistical tests, the extent to which interpretations improve when results are presented with confidence intervals (CIs) rather than p-values, and graduate students’ misconceptions about CIs. Finally, we discuss the concept of scientific rigour and outline guidelines for maintaining rigour that should apply equally to qualitative and quantitative research. Policies and strategies for the construction of flats have been launched in various cities, one of which is in Pontianak which is intended for the general public and students. One of the Rusunawa in Pontianak is the Tanjungpura University Flat which is rented out for students which was built in 2009. Based on this, it is necessary to carry out a Post-Work Evaluation of the building that has been used for some time. This study aims to identify and evaluate the Rusunawa building of Tanjungpura University in terms of functional aspects and its application in design solutions. The research approach used is qualitative and quantitative research. The research method used is spatial syntax and place-centred mapping. The results showed that the results of connectivity analysis in spatial syntax showed low values in the drying room and kitchen area and integration analysis on spatial syntax showed low values in building circulation areas 1, 2, 3, and 4. Place centered mapping data showed activity. That residents routinely do on the building. This indicates a change in the function of space and affects the dimensions of space. The post-occupancy evaluation shows a change in the function of space, access to circulation, and the dimensions of space in the building. Based on the results of post-occupancy analysis and evaluation, the design proposal also focuses on variables with functional aspects, namely circulation, dimensions, flexibility and changes in space function.
