The article describes the possibilities of e-textbooks introduction to the school curriculum as an instrument of digital pedagogy for the implementation of quality education. In the research, theoretical methods for systematizing and analyzing various approaches to the definition of the concept "e-textbook" and its classifications are used, the requirements for a modern e-textbook and the conditions for its use at school are generalized, as well as analyzed the proposals for electronic educational means for Ukrainian schools. The needs of teachers, students and their parents in the use of e-textbooks and electronic educational means were identified through empirical methods (observation, survey). Experience of using e-textbooks, electronic educational means is described on the basis of research and experimental work of 25 secondary education institutions. The results are based on sociological surveys, interviews and questionnaires of the participants in the educational process. A total of 1005 respondents took part in the study: 352 students, 296 teachers, 357 parents. The research has shown that most teachers are ready to use e-textbooks, e-tutorials, electronic educational means. It is more convenient for students and teachers to work with multimedia, interactive e-learning tools, e-textbooks. The Ukrainian state educational policy contributes to the development of digital pedagogy, digital education and the creation of high-quality electronic educational resources. International experience determines the priorities of the development of e-textbooks and the transition from static scanned versions of printed textbooks to interactive, multimedia, universal editions in which teachers can transform educational material, and, subsequently, to the development of adaptive versions that will provide students with the opportunity to form individual educational routes. In our future research we intend to concentrate on organizational, psychological and pedagogical conditions for the introduction of e-textbooks to secondary education and teacher training for their use as a guarantee of the development of digital pedagogy.

The authors of the article draw attention to the relevance of the use of e-learning tools to improve the quality of student preparation, as well as they consider the specifics of pedagogical communication within the framework of the information and educational environment. The language of education changes: there is a transition from written forms to audiovisual ones. In addition to traditional actors of the educational process (a teacher and a student), the third actor appears. It is learning tools that operate on the basis of information and communication technologies. The use of e-learning resources in the learning process allows to provide flexible forms of students’ interaction with a teacher and educational content; to organize interactive learning, follow-up and final assessment; to facilitate the management of the educational process for a teacher. The combination of in-class and online (extramural) forms of attendance is most effective. Also, it is necessary to include a cooperative learning approach in the e-learning model. The article describes the experience of using the virtual learning environment (Moodle) in organization of the educational process in a number of subjects (“Psychology of Lying”, “Ergonomics”, etc.) for the students of humanitarian and electrical engineering majors.

Critical thinking is one of the 21st century skills that should be equipped to students to prepare them with the challenges ahead. Teachers should be prepared to teach them these skills and their understanding of the concept itself should be explored. Thus, the objectives of the study are to investigate teachers’ understanding of critical thinking in KSSR (Kurikulum Baru Sekolah Rendah: New Primary School Curriculum) classroom and to explore their perception on the importance of the skills to student. Six primary school teachers were interviewed and transcriptions were made. The data was analyzed through colour coding and themes were emerged from the analysis. The findings found that teachers view critical thinking as the ability to gather information, express thoughts, solve problems and analyze. They were found the skills are important for students as it helps them apply knowledge and make decisions. It is hoped that in future research, the definition of critical thinking could be collected quantitatively from teachers. The study will be benefited to teachers to improve teaching method by understanding the concept itself.

The widespread adoption of digital e-learning environments and other learning technology has provided researchers with ready access to large quantities of data. Much of this data comes from discussion forums and has been studied with analytical methods drawn from social network analysis. However, within this large body of research there exists considerable variation in the definition of what constitutes a social tie, and the consequences of this choice are rarely described or examined. This paper presents findings from two distinct learning environments regarding different social tie extraction methods and their influence on the structural and statistical properties of the induced networks, and the association between measures of centrality and academic performance. Our findings indicate that social tie definitions play an important role in shaping the results of our analyses. The primary purpose of this paper is to raise awareness of the consequences that such methodological choices may have, and to promote transparency in future research.

The competence approach and e-learning have changed the role of the teacher in the student's life. In the article, the authors reveal the essence and features of this type of training (mixed). The authors consider the development of a student-centred approach. It is noted that working with the whole group, the teacher organizes the work of each, creating the conditions for the development of students' personal opportunities. Since with the entry into force of the new requirements of the Federal state educational standards, a qualitatively new relationship between the student and the teacher has appeared, the identification of their features and the determination of their role in the educational process have become particularly relevant. The article pays attention to the model of the teacher's activity within the framework of student-centred education and its main elements are noted. The authors identified features of blended learning and tools of electronic platforms that support the development of subject-subject relations between students and teachers. The authors emphasize the need to ensure equal starting conditions for the study of the discipline as a whole and suggest principles that should be followed when implementing the studentcentred approach within the framework of blended learning.

Research Question (RQ): What challenges did students recognize in the sudden transition to e-learning due to the outbreak of COVID-19? Which suggestions facilitated in the improvement of implementing e-learning and to what extent did the students think that following their recommendations contributed to better e-learning? Purpose: With the research, we wanted to determine what challenges students at higher vocational schools perceived during the e-learning process. Due to the sudden appearance of COVID-19, the educational approach swiftly changed, and both teachers and students were faced with many challenges. Method: Content analysis was used on domestic and international research studies. The literature was reviewed and analyzed using keywords. For the empirical research, we collected data by surveying students from the southeastern part of Slovenia in seven different short cycle higher education programs. The questionnaire was designed based on self-evaluation reports and previously analyzed professional literature dealing with this area. Results: Results are depicted based on the challenges that students faced in the sudden onset of e-learning due to the pandemic. By following recommendations provided by students, teachers were able to improve their e-learning approach, in which everyone was involved, and thus facilitated the learning process. Organization: The results of the research enable schools to implement the identified challenges that students perceived during the educational process to improve e-learning. The research findings portray a possible answer on what needs to be improved in e-learning and how to adapt approaches in a way that is tailored to the student. Society: Recognizing students’ e-learning challenges is the foundation for improving the entire e-learning process, which contributes to better achievement of educational goals and greater contribution of knowledge to society. Originality: Several studies on e-learning have already been conducted, but we have not found any that address the challenges posed by short cycle higher education students in the face of the immediate and unexpected introduction of e-learning due to the global health situation. Limitations/Future Research: We have limited ourselves to research that has already been conducted in this area. The resulting questionnaire was created as a pilot survey on a larger sample to determine reliability and to obtain a starting point for implementing improvements in practice and the possibility of further testing on an even larger number of students. The research also offers a starting point for the preparation of a questionnaire intended for higher education teachers who already have conducted e-learning.

Problem and goal. Despite a significant amount of work on the creation of electronic textbooks, interest in them does not wane. Currently, when developing them, it becomes necessary to take into account the features of the Z generation. The purpose of the study is a didactic analysis and description of the concept of transformer books and an inverted textbook. Methodology. The idea of creating such intellectual teaching aids is associated with the use of mental schemes of the subject area, hidden psychoanalysis of the perception type of the learner and the question-task form of training. The textbooks being designed provide for a change in the learning strategy (from the paradigm accumulating knowledge to solve problems to the paradigm solving problems by mastering the necessary knowledge). In this case, the educational model of the white box is used, which allows visualizing the dynamics of the acquisition by student the knowledge of the subject area. Results. A procedure for developing inverted textbooks and transformer books is proposed. Prototypes of such electronic tools when used in a real educational process have shown their high effectiveness in self-educational activities of students. Conclusion. The use of transformational and inverted electronic textbooks allows not only to automate the learning process without real contact with the teacher, but also contributes to a significant increase in the motivation of modern students to self-study. The materials of the article are of practical value for developers of e-learning tools, as well as teachers who prefer to use innovative teaching methods.
