The article offers the description of the pilot study results on university teachers’ engagement in exchange of empirical data on distance learning. It was suggested that they have a shaped intention to exchange; however, the specifics of their efforts make it difficult to integrate the collected data into the body of open empiricism. The study identifies the meaningful constructs of teachers’ engagement in data exchange. The research findings can be used in the practice of knowledge management in the system of higher education in order to optimize the engagement of teachers in the exchange of empirical data.

This research aims to identify the reality of applying knowledge management practices and reveal their impact on achieving the quality of higher education in Jordan, and to identify the concept of knowledge management and the quality of higher education, and uncover knowledge management practices, and determine the components of applying knowledge management in higher education institutions. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher used the descriptive and analytical approach, relying on the questionnaire as the main tool for collecting research data. The research was applied to a sample consisting of (142) workers and those in charge of the educational process at Al-Balqa Applied University, who were chosen randomly. Among the most prominent results of this research is that there is an effect of knowledge management on higher education quality at Al-Balqa Applied University at the significance level (α= 0.05). As the results showed, one of the essential practices of knowledge innovation and creativity is that knowledge management encourages brainstorming to create new ideas and reveal tacit knowledge. One of the most important practices of applying the knowledge is that the university conducts tests on knowledge before applying it, while the essential practice of storing and distributing knowledge is that the university has many methods and means used to preserve knowledge. In light of the study results, the research recommends the need to pay attention to those in charge of the educational process and those working in it, support them and develop their capabilities, and work to implement the knowledge that it possesses through a specialized work team, and the necessity for the knowledge management to work on developing the creative vision of the employees at the university.   Received: 3 November 2020 / Accepted: 3 January 2021 / Published: 17 January 2021

The integration of soft skills in training pre-service teachers ensures higher academic performance and provides them with better career opportunities. However, many university teachers pay insufficient attention to developing soft skills in higher education. The article aims to investigate the correlation between the soft skills included in professional teacher training and undergraduates’ viewpoint on soft skills development at university. The authors formulated three research questions: (a) How do English trainee teachers assess their soft skills? (b) How much attention, in students’ opinion, do teachers pay to developing soft skills? (c) Is there a gap between teachers’ work on developing students’ soft skills and trainee teachers’ expectations? To answer these questions, the researchers analized the empirical data received through a questionnaire. The questionnaire was completed by 153 English trainee teachers studying at H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University, Ukraine. The respondents answered two close-ended questions regarding the level of soft skills they believe to possess and the amount of time devoted to soft skills development. The findings suggest that most students consider the level of their soft skills intermediate or high. Nevertheless, a significant number of the respondents still feel that teachers pay insufficient or hardly any attention to improving these skills. It is necessary to conduct further research to analyze university teachers’ viewpoint on improving students’ soft skills and organize the development of soft skills which would meet trainee teachers’ expectations.

The results of the analysis showed all the three variables summed mean as 3.41, 3.3, 3.5 respectively all indicating a minor level of the presence of the TQM practices. OC showed relatively higher favorable response. The inferential statistics revealed that the relationship between OC and KM was positive, moderate and statistically significant (r=.491, p<.05). Demographical variables included respondents gender, qualification, experience. Gender and Qualification was found to have no influence on KM and OC, while experience showed significant effect on the two variables.

The article considers ways to expand the availability of higher education for students with special educational needs. The introduction of European principles and standards in the field of education is an important step towards the implementation of the model of inclusive education in our country. The importance of distance learning as one of the available forms of education for students with disabilities in higher education institutions of Ukraine is emphasized. Information and communication technologies can be a powerful tool to support education for people with disabilities. Monitoring of students with disabilities was carried out to determine their needs in the process of obtaining higher education. The main difficulties that students with different nosologies overcome in the process of studying in higher education institutions are identified. One of the ways to improve the training of students with disabilities in modern higher education is the introduction of distance learning using electronic educational services, including platforms Moodle and Microsoft Teams. The main features and benefits of the distance course "Psychology of Health and Healthy Lifestyle", created in the Moodle system, are described. However, the disadvantage of using the Moodle platform to teach students with disabilities is the lack of personal communication with group members, which is very important when teaching students with disabilities. The differences and advantages of the Microsoft Teams service over the Moodle platform in the process of distance learning of students with special educational needs are considered. Microsoft Teams offers technologies for clear audio and video transmission, data exchange, and the organization of separate sessions for collaborative and individualized learning that simplify the learning process. The process is presented of organizing a distance course "Psychology of Health and Healthy Lifestyle" to conduct classes with students with special educational needs on the platform Microsoft Teams and emphasizes the feasibility of its implementation in higher education
