Background: Children with intellectual disability has adaptation function problem, namely self-care skill dressing. Inability to dressing could affect social relationship and dependency with others. The effort to improve self-care skill could be done through self-development program and training using video modeling.Objective: This study was to investigate the effect of self-development program and training using video modeling on dressing skills in intellectual disability children.Methods: This was a quasy-experimental study with pretest posttest control group design. Sixty-two children aged between 6-12 years with intellectual disability were recruited using purposive sampling. Participants were divided into two groups (experimental group=31, control group=31). The experimental group was given training using video modeling in 4 sessions, with each for 50 minutes; and self-development program in 4 sessions, in 50 minutes per each, while control group was given self-development program for 8 sessions, with each for 50 minutes. Observation checklist of dressing skill before and after intervention was adopted from Nursing Outcome Classification in Indonesian version. Data were analyzed using Mann-Whitney to compare posttest score between experimental and control group.Results: The result showed there was a significant difference after intervention between experimental and control group (p=0.041). Eight dressing skills items increased including gets clothing from closet, gets clothing from drawer, puts clothing on upper body, buttons clothing, puts clothing on lower body, uses zipper, uses fastener, and removes clothes from upper body.Conclusion: Self-development program and training using video modeling could increase dressing skills in intellectual disability children aged 6-12 years.

A structured behaviour modification programme relatively improves the various skill behaviours among children with intellectual disabilities as well as decreases the problematic behaviours, when it is used in a systematic way in school classrooms. Present study represents the effect of systematic representation of differential reinforcements to decrease the problematic behaviours among the children with intellectual disabilities. The main objective of the present study was to study the effect of differential reinforcements in decreasing problematic behaviours among children with intellectual disability. This study was conducted on the sample of twenty students, selected from the Regional Institute for Mentally Handicapped Chandigarh, with informed consent of parents with pre selected inclusion and exclusion criteria and randomly assigned to the two groups. Experimental group was treated by the experimenter with intervention package after pre test up to 60 sessions and control group was remained untreated. After the treatment and analysis, experimenter found that students of experimental group who treated with the treatment package have significant decrease in problematic behaviours with t value 8.450, in comparison to control group.

Effectiveness of the Power Dry-Land Training Programmes in Youth Swimmers The aim of the study was to evaluate the effects of the dry-land power training on swimming force, swimming performance and strength in youth swimmers. Twenty six male swimmers, free from injuries and training regularly at least 6 times a week, were enrolled in the study and randomly assigned to one of two groups: experimental (n=14, mean age 14.0 ± 0.5 yrs, mean height 1.67±0.08 m and mean body mass 55.71 ±9.55 kg) and control (n=12, mean age 14.1 ± 0.5 yrs, mean height 1.61±0.11 m and mean body mass 49.07 ±8.25 kg). The experimental group took part in a combined swimming and dry-land power training. The control group took part in swimming training only. The training programmes in water included a dominant aerobic work in front crawl. In this research the experimental group tended to present slightly greater improvements in sprint performance. However, the stroke frequency insignificantly decreased (-4.30%, p>0.05) in the experimental group and increased (6.28%, p>0.05) in the control group. The distance per stroke insignificantly increased in the experimental group (5.98%, p>0.05) and insignificantly decreased in the control group (-5.36%, p>0.05). A significant improvement of tethered swimming force for the experimental group (9.64%, p<0.02) was found, whereas the increase was not statistically significant in the control group (2.86%, p>0.05). The main data cannot clearly state that power training allowed an enhancement in swimming performance, although a tendency to improve swimming performance in tethered swimming was noticed.

<p><em>This study aims to see the influence of self-development training to member loyalty. Research subjects are 40 members of Formasi Ar-Ruuh UMA. The samples were divided into experimental groups (Trained) and control groups (No training). Using 50 instruments of loyalty as a measuring instrument. Data analysis techniques using Wilcoxon Test, with the following results: 1. There’s influence of training on experimental group, significance coefficient 0.005. p 0.005 &lt;0.05, hypothesis is accepted. 2. There’s no significant increase in the control group. p = 0,513. p 0,513&gt; 0,05, hypothesis is rejected. 3. There’s no significant difference between the two groups, p = 0.225. p 0.225&gt; 0.05, hypothesis is rejected. The experimental group further increased its loyalty score by a pretest average of 125.85, the posttest rising to 130.25. The control group obtained a pretest average of 124.75, the posttest rising to 125.00. Self-development training affects loyalty improvement with pretest empirical mean experimental group 125,85, pretest control group 124,75, posttest experimental group 130,25, posttest control group 125,00. The empirical average value is greater than the hypothetical value (100) and the difference over the SD number is 11.440, 16.227, 5.447, 16.387.</em></p>

The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Functional Training (FT) on impulsiveness of female students with Intellectual Disability (ID). The research method was pretestposttest- with a control group. The statistical population consisted of all female students with ID in elementary school of Shiraz studying under the auspices of the Special Education Organization in 2018- 2019. The participants included 30 female students with ID selected through convenience sampling and randomly assigned to the experimental (n=14) and control (n=14) groups. The experimental group received the functional training for 15 sessions, while the control group did not receive any intervention. The Barratt Impulsiveness Scale Version 11 (BIS-11) was used for measuring the impulsiveness. The Impulsiveness pre-test was performed for both experimental and control groups. The experimental group received the FT for 15 sessions, while the control group did not receive any intervention. At the end of the intervention, post-test was performed for both groups. Mann-Whitney U test was used to analyze the data. The results showed that the mean scores of impulsivities and its subscales (motor impulsiveness, attentional impulsiveness and nonplanning impulsiveness) in the experimental group were significantly reduced. The results showed that FT had a significant effect on impulsiveness of female students with ID (p<0.001). Therefore, it is recommended to design and implement a FT program to improve impulsiveness in people with ID.

BACKGROUND: Dyslipidemia is one of the main risk factors of cardiovascular disease in people with diabetes. The principle of diabetes prevention and control is based on patient self-care and education. The Islamic self-care nutrition method is a common and successful way to modify behavior in Islamic ethics and mysticism. AIM: The study aimed to determine the effect of the Islamic self-care nutrition method on the lipid profile of patients with type 2 diabetes. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The present clinical trial was conducted in 2014 on 98 middle-aged patients with type 2 diabetes referred to the Diabetes Center of the Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, Sari, Iran, who were randomly allocated into two groups of experimental and control. Lipid indices were measured before intervention, and the same education about diabetic healthy diet was provided in both groups. In addition, in the experimental group, Islamic teachings and the Islamic self-care method of nutrition were taught with the intention of pleasing God. Data were analyzed with SPSS 22 software using independent and paired t-test, Chi-square, Fisher’s exact, and analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). RESULTS: After adjusting for the effect of confounding variables with ANCOVA, significant improvement was observed in triglycerides and low-density lipoprotein indices in the experimental group after intervention compared to the control group. Two-proportion z-test results showed a significant increase in the use of lipid-lowering drugs in the control group compared with the experimental group after intervention. CONCLUSION: The Islamic self-care nutrition method could be used to control chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes affected by behavioral factors.

The aim of the research was to determine the changes in physical fi tness of girls from the 11th grades promoting their self-education and training their least developed physical qualities.The sample of the research included one experimental and one control group, each consisting of 24 female subjects (n = 48) from the X school in Klaipėda. The subjects of each group were selected using the random sampling method. Each group had two weekly PE lessons according to the Lithuanian General Physical Education Curriculum.Testing physical fi tness based on the guidelines of the Eurofi t tests was performed in the middle of September, 2003 and the middle of April, 2004. The pedagogical experiment lasted for 7 months. To determine physical fi tness of subjects, the Eurofi t tests were used in the following order: sit-and-reach, standing broad jump, sit-ups, bent arm hang, shuttle run 10 × 5 metres. The results were assessed according to the National Eurofi t Reference Scales.It was found that physical fi tness of girls from the 11th grades was low: according to the Lithuanian Eurofi t Reference Scales, the test score in standing broad jump was 3, the test score in sit-and-reach, sit-ups and shuttle run 10×5 m was 4 and the test score in bent arm hang was 5. In the fi rst tests it was determined that the least developed traits in subjects were the strength of their leg and abdominal muscles and suppleness. For the experimental group, the physical education programme was modifi ed with greater focus on training strength and suppleness. PE lessons for the experimental group included training pupils’ awareness about PE and promoting of self-education. For this reason, the girls were taught to calculate and evaluate their body mass index, they had theoretical lessons about the importance of strength and suppleness as physical qualities and methods how to train them, the importance of exercising, methods of stretching and personal exercising, self-assessment of physical condition. The programme designed to promote the need for self-development and to train strength and suppleness had a po-sitive effect on physical fi tness changes in girls: most of physical qualities increased signifi cantly in girls from the experimental group.Keywords: physical fitness, physical qualities, physical self-development.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of two pedagogical strategies in adapted physical education (hybrid virtual/real vs. conventional) on fundamental movement skills (FMS) in children with intellectual disability age 7–10 years. Children with intellectual disability (N = 24) were randomly assigned to either the hybrid (experimental group) or the conventional (control group) group and were evaluated across 10 weeks. The hybrid program was based on virtual and real game situations, while the conventional program was based on adapted sports. FMS were evaluated using the Test of Gross Motor Development-2 at pre- and postprogram for both groups. Both programs significantly improve locomotor skills, with significantly better improvement in the experimental group. However, a significant improvement was observed only among the experimental group for object-control skills and gross motor quotient. Based on these results, a hybrid program may be considered for FMS improvement.

The purpose of the present study is to review the effects of warming up with music on moods and training motivation among Kurdistan province’s female handball players0 for this purpose, 24 handball players of premier league of Kurdistan province were selected as the research subjects through a random sampling method. In this study a pretest-posttest design is applied by which 12 subjects have been selected as control group and 12 as experimental group. The latter group performed warm ups free from music. For the purpose of estimation of motivation of subjects, the questionnaire of sports motivation was made use of. In addition, for investigation of the moods variable, the questionnaire of athletes’ moods was used. Research results using the statistical test of Mann-Whitney showed that no significant difference existed between the experimental and control groups’ motivation and moods after performance of the warming up program (P: 0.124). This was while there was a statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups’ moods prior and post to execution of Training program (P= 0.003). In general, it may be concluded that playing music doesn’t have any significant effects on athletes’ motivation while their moods can undergo significant changes through listening to music during warming up.

This study was aimed at finding out The Effect of Applying POSSE (Predict-Organize-Search-Summarize-Evaluate) Strategy on the Students’ Reading Comprehension. This study used the experimental design. The population of this study was the students of SMA Negeri 2 Medan. There were sixty students taken as the sample of the research. This study was conducted with two randomized groups namely experimental and control group. The experimental group was taught by applying POSSE strategy while control group was taught without applying POSSE strategy. The instrument of collecting the data was multiple choice test which consists of 40 items. To obtain the reliability of the test, the researcher used Kuder-Richardson (KR-21). The calculation shows the reliability was 0.81(high). The data were analyzed by using t-test. The calculation shows that t-observed (4.76) is higher than t-table (2.00) at the level of significance (α) 0.05 with the degree of freedom (df) 58. Therefore, the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It means that there was a significant effect of applying POSSE strategy on the students’ reading comprehension. Keywords: POSSE Strategy, Reading Comprehension.

The experimental group was taught by applying Learning Together Method while control group was taught without applying Learning Together Method. The calculation shows the reliability was 0.82(high). The data were analyzed by using t-test. Therefore, the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted.
