Background: Emergency nurses are required to always carry out their roles in a variety of situations and conditions. Nursing services in the emergency unit must be done quickly and accurately. Data showed that the number of patient visits in the Emergency Unit of Hasan Sadikin Hospital in August 2017 was 3,059 (73% of patients with category III) with an average visit of 99 people per day. This causes overcrowding in the emergency unit, which lead to fatigue and influence work satisfaction.Aim: The aim of this study was to determine fatigue and job satisfaction of emergency nurses in Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia.Methods: This was a quantitative descriptive study, which involved 55 respondents. Fatigue was measured using Individual Strength Checklist Instrument of 20-self-reported questionnaire (CIS20R), and job satisfaction was measured using McCloskey / Mueller Satisfaction Scale (MMSS).Results: The mean value of work fatigue was 3.4 with the highest value at the sub variable of physical activity. In general, the mean value of nurse work satisfaction was 2.66.Conclusion: Emergency nurses in the emergency unit of Hasan Sadikin hospital has high level of fatigue and low work satisfaction. The hospital management is suggested to provide better work schedule for better interaction among nurses, provide opportunities for all staff to be involved in research or other scientific work, and schedule family gatherings regularly to improve togetherness between staff and their families.

Background:The lipid paradox is termed the decreased cholesterol level in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Nevertheless, the apolipoprotein levels are usually higher than a healthy person and are predictors of cardiovascular events.Objectives:We aimed to describe lipid abnormalities in RA patients and to look for predictor factors of these changes.Methods:The prospective study was carried out on patients with RA who met the 2010 American College of Rheumatology (ACR)/European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) classification criteria. These patients were followed in the rheumatology department of the Kassab Institute.We collected the socio-demographic data, biological and immunological parameters.The lipid assessment included: a measurement of total cholesterol (TC), HDL, LDL, and triglycerides (TG). Lipoproteins APOA1 and APOB were measured. All data were collected after patient consent.Results:Of the 47 patients recruited, 78.7% were female. The mean age was 52.5 ±11.06 [32-76]. The average RA progressed from 86.25 ±63 months [5-288] and was erosive in 81.6% of cases. The rheumatoid factor (RF) was positive in 57.8% of patients, and citrullinated antipeptide antibodies (ACPA) were present in 62.2%. Eight patients had a previous CV history.Mean TC was 4.42 ±1.3 [1.2-7.58], mean HDL was 1.38 ±0.73 [0.18-4.10], mean LDL was 2.55 ±1.16 [0.24-5.54]. The mean TG value was 1.28 ±0.6 [0.24-5.54]. TC elevation was found in 9.1% of cases, HDL in 21.3% of cases, LDL in 5.5% of cases, and TG in 16.4% of cases. Mean APOB/APOA1 ratio was 0.67 ±0.18 [0,46-1,11]. LDL elevation was associated to a high DAS28 (p=0.06, r=0.512). APOA1 was associated to a low DAS28 (p=0.04, r=-0.642).The mean value of APO A1 was 1.36 ±0.21 [0.84-1.81], that of APOB was 0.90 ±0.22 [0.58-1.40]. APOA1 values were lower in patients with high-level LDL (p=0.767). The APOB value was associated with lipid disturbance without significant correlation (p=0.291).Conclusion:Lipid test abnormalities can be found in RA patients outside of any known CV risk factors. APOA1 seems to have a protective effect. Screening and treatment of these abnormalities can prevent CV risk.References:[1]Miguel Bernardes and al. AbstractDuring the Covid-19 pandemic, nurses are at the forefront. Many nurses experience stress and fatigue due to increased workload. Stress and fatigue that is obtained at work, both physical and psychological fatigue, is known as Burnout. This study aimed to describe the incidence of Burnout experienced by nurses during the Covid 19 Pandemic. This research is a literature review. This study was looking for some articles from PubMed,Garuda, and Google Scholar, with keyword. There were 5 articles that matched the research inclusion criteria. Critical analysis of 5 articles used the JBI instrument. These articles used the mean calculation. In the Emotional Exhaustion category, the mean value was 22.75 and SD was 8.828. it meant that the burnout level in the Emotional Exhaustion category was at a moderate level. In the depersonalization category, the mean value was 7.54 with SD 4.248. it meant that the burnout level in the depersonalization category was at a moderate level. In the personal accomplishment category, the mean was 19.676 with SD of 6.7. it mean that the burnout level in this category was a high level. The nurses experience burnout during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Emotional exhaustion category is a moderate level, depersonalization is at a moderate level, and personal accomplishment is at a high level.Keywords: Nurse, Burnout, Covid-19 pandemic AbstrakDimasa pandemi Covid-19 perawat berada pada garda terdepan, banyak perawat mengalami stress dan kelelahan dikarenakan beban kerja meningkat. Stress dan Kelelahan yang didapat saat kerja baik itu kelelahan fisik maupun psikis dikenal dengan nama Burnout penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kejadian Burnout yang dialami Perawat selama Pandemi Covid 19. Penelitian ini adalah literatur review. Hasil pencarian artikel dari database online yaitu Pubmed,Garuda dan Google Scholar, dengan kata kunci di dapatkan 5 artikel yang sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi penelitian. Analisa telaah kritis terhadap 5 artikel menggunakan instrument JBI. Terdapat 5 Artikel yang menggunakan perhitungan mean di dapatkan hasil kategori Emotional Exhaustion nilai mean sebanyak 22.75 dan SD 8.828 dimana hasil menunjukkan level burnout pada level sedang. Kategori depersonalization dengan nilai mean 7.54 dengan SD 4.248 dimana hasil burnout pada level sedang. Kategori personal accomplishment hasil mean 19.676 dengan SD 6.7 dimana hasil burnout menunjukkan level tinggi. Dari 5 Artikel yang di telaah di dapatkan Perawat mengalami Burnout selama pandemic Covid-19, kategori Emotional Exhaustion berada pada level sedang, depersonalization berada pada level sedang, dan personal accomplishment pada level tinggi.Kata Kunci : Perawat, Burnout, pandemi Covid-19

Achieving sustainable development in the water–energy–food (WEF) nexus is gaining global attention. The coupling and coordination degrees are a way to measure sustainable development levels of a complex system. This study assessed the coupling and coordination degrees of the core WEF nexus and identified key factors that affect sustainable development. First, an index system for assessing coupling and coordination degrees of the core WEF nexus was built. Second, the development levels of three subsystems as well as the coupling and coordination degrees of the core WEF nexus in China were calculated. The results showed that from 2007 to 2016, the mean value of the coupling degree was 0.746 (range (0.01, 1)), which was a high level. This proved that the three resources were interdependent. Hence, it was necessary to study their relationship. However, the mean value of the coordination degree was 0.395 (range (0, 1)), which was a low level. This showed that the coordination development of the core WEF nexus in China was low. It is necessary to take some measures to improve the situation. According to the key factors that affect the development levels of water, energy, and food subsystems, the authors put forward some suggestions to improve the coordination development of the WEF system in China.

Previous studies have found that market orientation practices were important in benefiting the continuity of the business firms. In this regard, the study tries to focus on the market orientation practices using MKTOR scale including customer orientation, competitor orientation and coordination between functions. The survey type of study was carried out among 136 micro-sized enterprises in Perlis and grouped into four major towns using stratified random sampling technique. Results from the descriptive analysis were shown that the mean value for the three market orientation constructs was at medium high level. The issue gives an overview of moderate market orientation practices amongst such enterprises. This finding provides useful enlightenment to micro-sized enterprises and related parties in developing the business in the future. Some implications to the related parties and future suggestions were discussed.

Introduction: Increasing CKD cases means higher demands for haemodialysis nurses. Haemodialysis nurses are required to fulfil many demanding roles such as advocate, caregiver, educator, mentor and technician while patients attend a dialysis unit. The complexities of the role that are performed by these nurses along with organization factors within the work environment have led to haemodialysis nurses experiencing high levels of burnout thus impacting on satisfaction derived from job done. Objectives: To compare job satisfaction among haemodialysis nurses with that of labour ward nurses and determine if the type of patient managed affects job satisfaction of nurses. Methodology: The multidimensional Job satisfaction scale designed and validated by Murat Ozpehlivan and Zafer Acar was used to determine job satisfaction among sixty-six hemodialysis nurses and sixty-four labour ward nurses in a cross sectional comparative descriptive study. Statistical significance difference between the two group of nurses attributed to events with a p-value lower than 5% (p < 0.05). Results: The overall mean job satisfaction score was higher among the labour ward nurses 67.95 ± 13.39 compared to the mean score among renal nurses 65.07 ± 14.24 (T= 1.81, p = 0.240). The mean score of labour ward nurses regarding satisfaction based on patient managed 74.51 ± 14.96 is higher than the mean score among renal participants of 71.21 ± 14.70 (T= 1.27, p = 0.201). Conclusion: Hemodialysis nurses in Nigeria are satisfied with the job they do and this is comparable to that of nurses in labour ward.

Genetic variability is the fundamental prerequisite of any crop-breeding program to develop superior cultivars. There are about 350 Eragrostis1 species, of which, tef is the only species cultivated for human consumption. Currently, the Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute (EBI) collected over five thousand tef accessions from different geographical regions, diverse in terms of climate and elevation, which are uncharacterized yet. The objective of this study was to evaluate the genetic diversity among 64 tef accessions using 10 selected polymorphic simple sequence repeats (SSRs) markers. A total of 314 alleles were detected with an average of 14.5 alleles per locus and amplicon size ranged from 90 bp–320 bp. The mean value of polymorphic information content (PIC) was 0.87, appearing polymorphic for all loci. The lowest Fst value (0.05) was recorded among the studied tef populations. The mean value of major allele frequency and the number of effective alleles were 0.33 and 3.32, respectively. The mean value of gene flow (Nm) and Shannon’s information index (I) was 4.74 and 1.65, respectively. The observed (Ho) and expected (He) heterozygosities varied from 0.34 to 0.56 and from 0.58 to 0.76, respectively. The cluster analysis has grouped the 64 tef accessions into three distinct clusters based on their similarity. The PCoA analysis showed that clustering is basing on the geographical origin of accessions. Analysis of molecular variance revealed 56%, 39% and 5% of the total variation due to variation within populations, among individuals and among populations, respectively. Structure bar-plot also inferred three gene pools, but with high level of admixtures. Thus, the present study shows that the identified tef accessions could be of great interest for the initiation of a planned breeding and conservation programs.


The role of social support at workplace become one of the most important variables that can give impact on employee’s attitude. Closely related to employee’s performance, many studies have confirmed the role of social support in enhancing employee’s job satisfaction. The aims of this research is two-folds. First, to investigate the differences and second to compare the effect of social support on job satisfaction among academicians in Malaysia. Overall, a total of 420 samples were obtained, wherein 210 participants withdrawn from each setting. Data was collected using self-administrated questionnaire, and analyzed using SPSS version 22. The finding suggested that social support levels (i.e. supervisor support and co-worker support) are higher among academicians in private university. Level of job satisfaction, otherwise is higher among public university. Overall, the mean values indicated high level of social support and job satisfaction among academicians in both university. Analysis of t-Test revealed that there is no significant differences in terms of social support, however the significant being observed in terms of job satisfaction between academicians in Malaysia public and private university. This study also ascertained the positive impact of social support on job satisfaction to both samples. Implication of this study includes empirical contribution and deliberation on social support and job satisfaction. Suggestion from this study includes improving social support to enhance overall academicians’ job satisfaction.

Introduction: Although nurses and physicians are known to share the common goal of improving the quality of health care, there has traditionally been a relational gap between them. The aim of the present study was to investigate the attitude of Iranian nurses about physician-nurse collaboration and its relationship with their job satisfaction. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, a total of 232 nurses were recruited from three educational hospitals of Zanjan University of medical sciences. Three questionnaires were used in this study; (a) Demographic data questionnaire, (2) Jefferson Scale of Attitudes toward Physician–Nurse Collaboration (JSAPNC), and (3) Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire. Results: In this study, the mean age of the participants was 33.22(SD= 6.13) years, 83.8% of nurses were female, 90.8% had a baccalaureate degree in nursing, and 82.5 % had rotational work shifts. The mean score of physician-nurse collaboration was found to be 48.07 (SD= 8.95) (ranged from 15 to 60), and the mean score of job satisfaction scale was 57.78 (SD = 14.67) (ranged from 20 to 100). There was a significant positive correlation between the attitudes toward physician–nurse collaboration and job satisfaction among the nurses (r=0.59, P≤0.001). Conclusion: The results indicated that the collaboration between nurses and physicians increases the job satisfaction of nurses working in clinical settings. Therefore, nurses and physicians should develop a new culture of collaboration with each other with the mutual goal of high quality patient care. Moreover, health care administrators should implement the strategies that strengthen the development of physician–nurse collaboration.

Every organization expects every employee to have a high level of job satisfaction. This study aimed to see the relationship between work life balance and job satisfaction by using quantitative methods with product moment correlation technique from Carl Pearson. Hypothesis in this research was a positive and significant correlation between work life balance and job satisfaction. Measuring tool used in this research was work life balance scale by Hayman (2005) with result of reliability test was 0.774 and job satisfaction scale by Spector (1997) with result of reliability test was 0.942. The sample of this research was employees at PT PLN Ambon Area. From product moment correlation analysis obtained r value = 0.337 with significance 0.001 (p <0.05). The result of statistical analysis obtained showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between work life balance and job satisfaction at employees in PT PLN Persero Ambon Area.

This study aimed to learn the knowledge, attitude and problems of Malay Language teachers on the implementation of higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in teaching and learning (T&L) literature component (KOMSAS) in secondary schools.The study was conducted because there are Malay Language teachers who have a low mastery of the syllabus and content of KOMSAS. Respondents of this study consisted of 108 Malay Language teachers in secondary schools that teach in Timur Laut district, Penang. The design of this study is a study that uses descriptive analysis. This study uses questionnaires as instruments. Data were analyzed using Social Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25.0 for descriptive data description. The findings showed the mean average value of teacher knowledge level before T&L (min 3.917) and current T&L (min 3.970), teacher attitude level before T&L (mean 3.894) and current T&L (min3.875) against HOTS in T&L KOMSAS showed the average mean value was at a high level, while the average mean value of problems on teachers (mean 3.116) and problems on students (mean 2.578) to implement KBAT in T&L KOMSAS are at a moderate level. This indicates that the knowledge, attitudes and problems affecting the implementation of HOTS among Malay language teachers in the T&L of KOMSAS. Kajian ini dijalankan kerana terdapat guru bahasa Melayu yang mempunyai penguasaan yang rendah tentang sukatan pelajaran dan kandungan KOMSAS. Responden kajian ini terdiri daripada 108 orang guru Bahasa Melayu sekolah menengah yang mengajar di Daerah Timur Laut, Pulau Pinang. Reka bentuk kajian ini adalah kajian tinjauan menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Kajian ini menggunakan soal selidik sebagai instrumen. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan Social Package for Science Social (SPSS) versi 25.0 untuk pemerihalan data secara deskriptif. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan nilai purata min bagi tahap pengetahuan guru sebelum PdP (min 3.917) dan semasa PdP (min 3.970), tahap sikap guru sebelum PdP (min 3.894) dan semasa PdP (min3.875) terhadap KBAT dalam PdP KOMSAS menunjukkan nilai purata min berada pada tahap tinggi, manakala nilai purata min bagi masalah terhadap guru (min 3.116) dan masalah terhadap pelajar (min 2.578) untuk menerapkan KBAT dalam PdP KOMSAS berada pada tahap sederhana. Hal ini menunjukan bahawa tahap pengetahuan, sikap dan masalah guru bahasa Melayu mempengaruhi penerapan KBAT dalam KOMSAS dalam kalangan pelajar ketika proses PdP dijalankan.
