The Performance of Primary School Teachers In the Unit of Education Technical Implementation, Banyumanik, Semarang

The purpose of this study is mainly to describe the performance of primary school teachersin the unit of education technical implementation in Banyumanik, Semarang. This researchwas conducted in January- August 2017. The sample of this research is 162 primaryschool teachers selected by random sampling technique in order to get the same opportunityas sample. The instruments used in this study were the assessment sheets, the RatingSheet consisted of 64 items of question, and 3 indicators of Primary School TeacherPerformance. The results show that each of Implementation of lesson plans is categorizedvery well (90, 9%), the execution of the learning is 83.4%, assessment of learning is good(82.8%). The Overall performance of primary school teachers is categorized good( 85 , 7 % ). In other words, the primary school teachers of the unit of education technicalimplementation in Banyumanik Semarang can arrange the lesson plans, carry out learningand teaching process and assess the learning process in elementary school.

The purpose of this study is to know and describe the role of teachers in the learning process in Primary School of Indonesia Inpres Komboi Biak Numfor District. This research uses qualitative research methods with the process of collecting data using interviews, observation and questionnaires. The place of this research is SD Inpres Komboi Biak Numfor District. The sample of this study amounted to 36 people consisting of 30 students and 6 teachers. For sample student researcher use random sampling technique (random). The results of this study indicate that in general teachers who teach in elementary school Inpres Komboi, already carry out their duties and roles well but the obstacles that exist in elementary school Inpres Komboi still less support books books such as packages in the process of learning Indonesian.

The article reveals the key stages of the formation of professional competencies of students of specialty “Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education” in the reform of the educational process, justifies the understanding of the term “competence”, special attention is paid to various aspects of the definition of the concept. The characteristic features of global changes associated with the urgent need of society in intellectual, creative individuals with critical thinking skills are highlighted and described. In this regard, the main task of universities is the orientation of the educational process towards modernization, which consists in changing the role of the teacher, applying new approaches to the organization of the educational process, using modern educational technologies, contributing to the formation of students' competencies required in their future professional activities. The authors point out a number of topical issues related to the problem of forming professionally oriented communicative competence of future primary school teachers. The main content of the study is the analysis of the author's experience of enhancing the educational process in elementary school and the organization of conditions for the formation of professional competencies of future professionals required in the learning process, generalized educational technology, which is very relevant in the university. Based on the study of this problem conclusion was made that a renewed understanding and formation of professional and general cultural competencies of future specialists should consist not only of professional knowledge, but also general human values in general. The article presents the criteria of forming professional and communicative competences of students in higher education institution. According to the results of the study, the authors’ vision of intensifying the learning process and the formation of professional competencies of students, which they need in their future profession, is presented. Pedagogical conditions contributing to the effective formation of communicative competence of a future elementary school teacher are revealed.

The arrival of foreign cultures due to globalization will be able to fade the culture of local communities if there is no selection process. Selection process can be done if a nation has a strong character foundation The 2013 curriculum as a reference for education in Indonesia has been emphasizing eighteen characters derived from local wisdom that need to be integrated in the teaching and learning process. The current study intended to explore the believe of primary school teachers on integrating Balinese local value called Tri Hita Karana in teaching character education. This study was a survey study followed by 94 elementary school teachers. The results show that elementary school teachers in Buleleng, Bali are aware of the significances of inserting the values of Tri Hita Karana in the learning process, they believe that the Tri Hita Karana concept is very much in accordance with the values of character education, and the integration of Tri Hita Karana values into the teaching and learning process will strengthen the students’ character and national identity.

<em>This study was set out of curiosity to know what kind of the perception of elementary school teachers, in understanding and implementing classroom action research (CAR) to solve pedagogical-didactical problems that faced in the learning process. By survey method, this study is conducted to 63 the primary school teachers from first grade class up to sixth grade one, derived from the three districts/city in West Java Province. In general, can be described that all teachers stated how important CAR is, but most feel still constrained in implementing it. </em>

Sustainable Development (SD) is a rich, challenging and thought-provoking construct in social sciences. The main purpose of this paper was to identify and explore the role played by primary school teachers in building up the idea of sustainable development (SD) among students. This paper was intended to identify that how a teacher can successfully execute the concept of SD by influencing students’ minds at the primary level. Quantitative survey technique were utilized for data collection. All the primary school teachers of Lahore division comprised the population of the study. Through multistage sampling technique, 352 primary school teachers were selected as participants of the study. A self-developed SD questionnaire incorporating four major factors (teachers’ awareness, pedagogy, curricular and co-curricular activities) with Cronbach’s alpha value = .93 was used to measure the role of teachers in building the sustainability concept among students at primary level. The results indicated a significant mean score difference among SD scores of teachers, sector wise (private and public). Furthermore, the results also reconnoitered the significant difference (p=.04) between the mean scores of female and male teachers in building up the SD concept in students’ minds.

Corporal Punishment yields negative impact on the behaviors of students and thus their learning achievements remain lower. Sometime, in a particular situation, students’ exhibit relatively better results but they actually get fed up with the learning enrolment and intrinsically intend to go away from teaching learning process. This study was under taken to get the opinion of primary school teachers and their practical behaviors towards corporal punishment at primary level in the Govt. Schools of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. In order to collect data, a questionnaire containing 35 questions was developed in Urdu for seeking opinion of primary school teachers. The questionnaire had two parts; the first part pertained to information about different aspects related to the classroom situation while the second part contained an open-ended question asking for suggestions.  Stratified random sample technique was used but only those school were selected which were willing to respond and easy to approach.  Data collected through questionnaire were tabulated and analyzed.  Although difference of opinion was found among the teachers on all issues yet an overall majority opined that corporal punishment must not be there as it was the greatest negative variable for creating a conducive environment for teaching learning process. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hubungan: budaya sekolah dengan kinerja guru; komunikasi dengan kinerja guru; budaya sekolah dengan komitmen; komunikasi dengan komitmen, komitmen dengan kinerja guru; budaya sekolah dengan kinerja melalui komitmen; komunikasi dengan kinerja guru melalui komitmen. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 250 orang guru di 100 Sekolah yang dipilih secara stratified proporsional random sampling dari populasi sebesar 2.276 orang guru yang tersebar di 274 SD Negeri di Kota Banjarmasin. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Data penelitian dianalisis secara deskriftip dan analisi jalur. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa budaya sekolah memiliki hubungan dengan kinerja, komunikasi memiliki hubungan dengan kinerja, budaya sekolah memiliki hubungan dengan komitmen, komunikasi memiliki hubungan dengan komitmen, komitmen memiliki hubungan dengan kinerja guru, komitmen merupakan perantara hubugan budaya sekolah dengan kinerja guru dan hubungan komunikasi dengan kinerja guru. The sample consisting of 250 teachers from 100 schools was selected using the stratified proportional random sampling technique from a population of 2,276 teachers teaching in 274 state elementary schools in Banjarmasin Municipality. The data were collected using an instrument which had been validated and which was reliable. The data were analyzed using the descriptive analysis and the path analysis. The findings showed that there was relationship between: school culture and teachers’ performance, communication and performance, school culture and commitment, communication and commitment, commitment and teachers’ performance. Commitment became an intervening variable between school culture and teachers’ performance and between communication and teachers’ performance. The aim of the study was to find out the perception of teachers towards enhancing their professional and human developments through mentoring using Owerri Educational zone. The result of the study would be significant as it would provide a basis for incorporating the mentoring system into teachers' development programmes. Four research questions were formulated to guide the study. A simple random sampling technique with non-replacement balloting was used to sample hundred (900) teachers in the area of study. Data for the study were collected using a structured questionnaire relating to the topic and analysed with simple percentages The result of the analysis showed those primary school teachers were not aware of the benefits of enhancing their profession and personal development through mentoring. Teachers in the area of study had a negative perception towards enhancing their personal and professional development through mentoring by years of experience. The levels o f education, sex are not determining factors in the teacher's perception o f their professional development through mentoring. Based on the result some recommendations were made which include a review of the current development programmes of teachers to incorporate the mentoring system, and team teaching should be encouraged to facilitate networking and sharing of best practices among teachers among others.

<em>The purpose of this service is to train primary school teachers in Surakarta city to have the ability to optimize the role of a teacher to involve parents and the community in the implementation of learning so that specifically this activity aims to train teachers to have the ability to compile contact books and worksheets. The method used in this service begins the Workshop, Practices, and Implementation. In conducting this training, subjects were asked to work on tests related to the preparation of connection books and worksheets for elementary school teachers. Analysis of the data used is pre-test and post-test. The results of this activity were an increase in teacher's knowledge and understanding of the preparation of connection books and worksheets</em>

This is elementary school teacher training to solve mathematics olympiad problems in Bulukumba district. The purpose of this training is to (1) provide information about mathematics olympiad in Indonesia (2) training teacher to solve mathematics olympiad problems, and (3) motivate  primary teachers to conduct olympiad class in their school.  The method is divided into two, namely the presentation and the independent tasks. The presentation focuses on the types of math competitions and the types of Olympic problems. Independent task aims to create and solve mathematics Olympiad problems for elementary school level. In addition, motivation was also being concerned in this training. The teachers were expected to use the problems in their mathematics class and also to identify students who potentially have ability join in mathematics competition. Abstrak Pengabdian ini berupa pelatihan olimpiade matematika tingkat Sekolah Dasar yang diperuntukkan bagi Guru Sekolah Dasar di Kabupaten Bulukumba. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk (1) memberikan pengetahuan terkait pelaksanaan olimpiade matematika di Indonesia (2) memberikan pemahaman terkait soal-soal olimpiade matematika, dan (3) memberikan motivasi kepada guru untuk melakukan pembimbingan olimpiade. Metode pelaksanaan terbagi atas dua yakni metode ceramah dan metode kerja mandiri. Metode ceramah berfokus kepada materi tentang jenis jenis kompetisi matematika dan jenis jenis soal olimpiade. Kerja mandiri bertujuan untuk membuat dan menyelesaikan soal olimpiade matematika tingkat SD. Selain itu, motivasi juga diberikan agar guru dapat mengadopsi soal tersbeut dalam kegiatan pembelajaran serta mencari bibit unggul yang dapat diikutkan untuk berkompetisi.
