Gated integrating measurement method represents a widely used approach when fast, repetitive analogue signals are concerned. In this work a compact synchronized gated-integrator prototype has been realized and preliminary characterized. Front-end electronics is based on the mature high-precision switched-integrator transimpedance-amplifier IVC102 whose output is connected to a precision LT1911 inverting amplifier, whereas analogue-to-digital conversion, as well as timing control circuitry, are performed by a high-efficiency LPC845 microcontroller. Synchronizing signal detection with the external trigger generated in coincidence with a source, the proposed circuitry amplifies and integrates the signal only when the pulse is generated, displaying excellent performances in terms of linearity, sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratio. Hence, the proposed solution represents an affordable alternative to continuous-time regime measurement-techniques, usually adopted in radiation dosimetry where accuracy and sensitivity are strict requirements for treatment quality assurance.

We present a review of the possibilities to conduct experiments of high efficiency in the nuclear and high energy physics with spin-polarized beams in a collider complex, configuration of which includes Siberian snakes or figure-8 collider ring. Special attention is given to the recently elicited advantageous possibility to conduct high precision experiments in a regime of the spin transparency (ST) when the design global spin tune is close to zero. In this regime, the polarization control is realized by use of spin navigators (SN), which are compact special insertions of magnets dedicated to a high flexibility spin manipulation including frequent spin flips.

Abstract We have developed a multiplex Coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) microscope effective for low-wavenumber measurement by combining a high-repetition supercontinuum light source of 1064 nm and an infrared high-sensitivity InGaAs diode array. This system could observe the low-wavenumber region down to 55 cm-1 with high sensitivity. In addition, using spectrum shaping and spectrum modulation techniques, we simultaneously realized a wide bandwidth (<1800 cm-1), high wavenumber resolution (9 cm-1), high efficiency, and increasing signal to noise ratio by reducing the effect of the background shape in low-wavenumber region. Spatial variation of a sulfur crystal phase transition with metastable states was visualized.

The super-thin rod cylindrical grinding is a problem in the machining, super-thin rod with large slenderness ratio, poor rigidity, large roundness error after grinding, and with low processing efficiency. This study uses cylindrical honing processing super-thin rod parts, and designing the super-thin rod cylindrical honing head, carrying on a honing test. The results show that the super-thin rod cylindrical coarse honing capacity reach up to 0.002mm/double stroke(length 1698mm), surface roughness reach up to Ra 0.8 ~ 0.025μm after honing, roundness error reach up to 2μm. It fully shows that super-thin rod cylindrical honing technology has high precision, low surface roughness, flexible production processing and high efficiency.

The validity of any glaciological paleo proxy used to interpret climate records is based on the level of understanding of their transfer from the atmosphere into the ice sheet and their recording in the snowpack. Large spatial noise in snow properties is observed, as the wind constantly redistributes the deposited snow at the surface routed by the local topography. To increase the signal-to-noise ratio and getting a representative estimate of snow properties with respect to the high spatial variability, a large number of snow profiles is needed. However, the classical way of obtaining profiles via snow-pits is time and energy-consuming, and thus unfavourable for large surface sampling programs. In response, we present a dual-tube technique to sample the upper metre of the snowpack at a variable depth resolution with high efficiency. The developed device is robust and avoids contact with the samples by exhibiting two tubes attached alongside each other in order to (1) contain the snow core sample and (2) to access the bottom of the sample, respectively. We demonstrate the performance of the technique through two case studies in East Antarctica where we analysed the variability of water isotopes at a 100 m and 5 km spatial scales.

The constant voltage power supply with dual directional reversible PWM compensation has merits of high precision, high efficiency, small volume, and so on. To ensure the quality of supply, it is important to fix the value of inductance, capacitance in main circuit. From the angle of filtering, and through analysis of the circuit working, detailed formulas of the inductance and capacitance calculation are given and an example of it is given too. In parameters calculation, to reduce the volume, the filter inductance is taken a smaller value but the capacitance is taken a greater value; the DC smoothing capacitance should be chosen according to the amplitude limit of DC voltage rising in inversion, and should be taken as great as possible to maintain voltage stabilizing precision.
