Background: The automotive industry is heavily affected by sick leaves caused by the handling of loads and using postures that produce musculoskeletal disorders. Research is needed to analyse their causes and find possible solutions to eliminate or mitigate these risks. Objective: Our objective was to analyse the level of musculoskeletal risk in the different work tasks performed by truck and bus mechanics. Our intention is also to analyse whether postural training and feedback can help reduce risk. Methods: The rapid entire body assessment (REBA) was used to assess the postures performed by 35 mechanics from eight branches throughout Spain. The participants were subsequently divided randomly into two groups (experimental group and control group). The experimental group (EG) was given training and feedback on their postures and the control group (CG) was not offered any type of intervention. A few months after the initial assessment, their postural load in the usual tasks was re-evaluated. Results: An overall average REBA Score: 10.49 ± 1.33. The main risk was found in the trunk and arms with sustained above-the-head postures. EG’s second results are significantly improved compared to the first (p = 0.026 *). Conclusions: These jobs have a high-risk level of musculoskeletal disorders. The course of action presented with postural training and feedback has shown satisfactory results. Nevertheless, given the size of the sample, further research will be needed to delve deeper into this possibility as a future line of intervention.

Determining the potential risks of musculoskeletal disorders through working postures in a workplace is expensive and time-consuming. A novel intelligent rapid entire body assessment (REBA) system based on convolutional pose machines (CPM), entitled the Quick Capture system, was applied to determine the risk levels. The aim of the study was to validate the feasibility and reliability of the CPM-based REBA system through a simulation experiment. The reliability was calculated from the differences of motion angles between the CPM-based REBA and a motion capture system. Results show the data collected by the Quick Capture system were consistent with those of the motion capture system; the average of root mean squared error (RMSE) was 4.77 and the average of Spearman’s rho (ρ) correlation coefficient in the different 12 postures was 0.915. For feasibility evaluation, the linear weighted Cohen’s kappa between the REBA score obtained by the Quick Capture system and those from the three experts were used. The result shows good agreement, with an average proportion agreement index (P0) of 0.952 and kappa of 0.738. The Quick Capture system does not only accurately analyze working posture, but also accurately determines risk level of musculoskeletal disorders. This study suggested that the Quick Capture system could be applied for a rapid and real-time on-site assessment.

Background: Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are the most important occupational health problems particularly in dental professionals. Dentists are among the workers who are more often susceptible to this disorder, as because their work includes risk factors that may lead to this disorder. The study aims to determine the prevalence of MSDs among dental surgeons , also the risk and exposure of this disorder by assessing job postures and the correlation between them. Methods : This cross sectional study was conducted among purposively selected 86 dental surgeons working in eight different tertiary level public and private hospitals in Dhaka city. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection, where Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire(NMQ) used which records the prevalence of MSDs in terms of musculoskeletal symptoms and to assess the risk and exposure of MSDs, Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) score sheet, Quick Exposure Check (QEC) have been used respectively by 10- 15 minutes observing each study subject during different dental operating procedures. After data collection analysis of data was performed by using SPSS software (Version 22). Results : More than 63 % and 47 % of the participants reported pain and discomfort in at least one body region in the last 12 months and the last 7 days respectively. The major affected part was neck, followed by lower back, shoulders and hands / wrists. In different field of specialization among the study subjects musculoskeletal symptoms were highest in oral and maxillofacial surgeons followed by general practitioners, orthodontists, endodontists, prosthodontists. The exposure assessment (QEC) showed that a small percentage (22.1%) have acceptable exposure, where 30.2%, 47.7% had medium exposure and high exposure respectively. Whereas the risk assessment (REBA) showed that 59.3% of the participants were in medium risk group that necessitates further investigation and needs to implement change. Pearson’s correlation test indicated that there is a strong positive correlation between the current exposure and the risk (r = 0.832) and the relationship between exposure and risk of MSDs was found to be highly significant as p < 0.01. Highly significant association found between risk level according to REBA score and the exposure level according to QEC score with MSDs ( as p value < .01). Conclusion: This study concludes that high prevalence of MSDs and high risk levels as well as exposure levels according to REBA and QEC, suggest inappropriate and incorrect ergonomic postural habits existing among the dental surgeons which necessitates further investigation and attention on this issue to combat with this disorder among dental professionals. Abstract Background: Musculoskeletal pain is among the most common reasons for seeking care, specialist competence for its treatment in primary care limited and waiting lists for orthopaedics often amongst the longest. Many referrals to orthopaedics do not concern disorders that benefit from surgery. Manual therapy is effective, yet not integrated in national health care systems, and there is a lack of research on other than neck and low back pain, and a lack of long-term follow-ups. The present study evaluates the long-term effects of a complementary therapy for common orthopaedic disorders. Methods: An 8-year follow-up (96 months) of a pragmatic randomized controlled trial of naprapathy (experimental group) versus standard orthopaedic care (control group) for non-surgical patients of working age with the most common musculoskeletal disorders on the waiting lists(n=78). Bodily pain, physical function (SF36), Quality of life (QoL; SF6D), and data on health care utilization were collected. Results: N=75 participants in the original study sample completed the 8-year follow-up. The differences in bodily pain (21,7 (95% CI: 9,1-34,3)), physical function (17,6(6,7-28,4)), and QoLs (0,823 (95% CI: 0.785-0.862) compared with 0,713 (95% CI: 0.668-0.758)) were statistically significantly in favor of the experimental group (p-values<0,01). After sensitivity analysis the experimental group had altogether 260 health care visits compared with 1 161 in the control group. Conclusions:Naprapathy is a continuously effective treatment. Together with earlier research our study suggests that specialized manual therapy should be considered when triaging patients with common non-surgical musculoskeletal disorders in national health care systems.Trial registration: Not applicable, as per information given by ClinicalTrials.gov.

COVID-19 has become a global pandemic, and one of the government's actions in the education sector to prevent transmission through online class activities or online classrooms has been adopted. During the pandemic, it was discovered that using computers with improper or non-ergonomic body postures during online classes might cause muscular fatigue and raise the incidence of musculoskeletal problems. Using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method, this study seeks to detect musculoskeletal complaints and assess the posture of UMM students when using a laptop. Because online learning lasts more than 2 hours, posture that is not in accordance with the comfort of using a laptop can lead a person to exhaust more rapidly in front of a laptop for a relatively long period, especially in the upper neck, back, and waist, which stand for 80% of the body parts. This is supported by the study of respondents using a questionnaire distribution technique that provided a REBA score of 7 and a moderate risk level, indicating that remedial action is required. After a recommended improvement with a low risk level for MSDs, a REBA score of 3 was established. Suggestions that can be considered are that it is necessary to improve sitting work posture, it is recommended to work on a table and sit in a reclining chair so that the proposed work posture improvement can be carried out.

PT. X is a company engaged in the manufacture of the doll house. Its various daily production processes in each work station are performed on the floor by squatting for long hours. There are seven work stations, namely pattern making, pattern cutting, pattern assembly, caulking, sanding, painting and accessory installation. The study aims to know the risk level of working posture of operators and to suggest improvements to very risky work stations. The method used in this research is Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) based on nordic questionaire on pains suffered in the back, waist, hip, right hand and foot. From the results of the collection and processing of the data, the risk of injury in an actual working system based on REBA score shows a high risk level, with the highest risk level is in caulking working station of 9 for the left side and 8 for the right side. Further, the suggested working system improvement using a chair and table results in a decrease in the risk of injury with low REBA score, the average of which is 5 for all improved work stations. It shows that the suggested working system improvement is really necessary to reduce the work risks during the doll house production.

Setelah dilakukan design perancangan material handling, maka diperoleh skor pengangkatan sayuran buncis sebesar 2, sehingga diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa produktivitas penggunaan material handling usulan meningkat sebesar 83 persen.
