The present work has as objective to make an approximation to the description of the Ecuadorian electrical sector, in its beginnings of creation and conformation until its current reality, to contextualize the Ecuadorian electric panorama. In this sector, it will modernize according to new technological trends that seek to optimize the use of natural resources to provide electric power service with the responsibility and regulations required for the care of the environment. Index Terms— electric market, economic deficit, electricity generation, new technologies.

Pollution of the environment with waste is the basis of the degradation of the natural system. To prevent this, it is necessary to protect natural resources as much as possible and organize the recycling of waste. Azerbaijan has sufficient resources to prepare organic fertilizers based on new technologies. The presented article discusses the damage caused to the environment by pollution of lands of Neftchala region. The need for agro-technical measures to restore such areas that have lost their fertility is emphasized. In landscaping research, it is recommended to grow soybeans on such lands and apply high doses of organic fertilizers to ensure their normal development. This study addresses the methodology of projecting the electric power industry developments, taking into account environmental constraints. I obtained quantitative assessments of long-term electric power industry development in a Russian region, determined the emission of greenhouse gases from fuel combustion at thermal power plants (TPPs), and the efficiency of technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the electric power industry.

The Karman vortex induced vibration (KVIV) is observed over a wide range of conditions, and has been regarded as a negative phenomenon until now since it has caused many accidents. Therefore a lot of researches have been conducted to predict and to avoid it. Recently, however, KVIV is regarded as a process to convert energy of natural flows into mechanical energy, and techniques for electricity generation utilizing it are proposed. The electric power of this method is smaller than that of wind and water turbine generations, but this method has possibility to become a smaller and more maintenance-free apparatus than rotary machines. In earlier works, we found that the trailing vortex shed periodically from a cruciform two-circular-cylinder system, and that it induces a cross flow vibration on the upstream cylinder (TVIV) over a wide velocity range, which becomes broader by replacing the downstream cylinder by a strip-plate. Because of this character, an electricity generator utilizing TVIV should be effectively applied to rivers of which velocity usually varies largely. The purpose of this work is to develop a technique to generate electricity utilizing TVIV in water flow. Experiments using a water tunnel and an open-surface water channel are conducted to know conditions of the maximum electric power and to test the performance in a river. The optimum gap-to-diameter ratio is 0.22 since the cylinder vibration amplitude is largest. The optimum resistance of the circuit is the value which makes the virtual damping due to electricity generation nearly equal to the structure damping. The performance test in the water channel shows that the open surface and the turbulence in flow have little influences on the cylinder vibration amplitude and the synchronization velocity range of KVIV. However, TVIV is not observed, maybe because of the large aspect ratio.

Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs) are a promising technology for distributed electricity generation and cogeneration. Most of the installations of SOFC are small size fuel cells (of the order of decades of watts or few hundred watts) in laboratories. There are very few installations of commercial scale SOFC plants. In this paper the operating results obtained with two SOFC plants are presented. These plants, whose nominal electric power is 100 kW and 5 kW respectively, produce heat and power to contribute to the energy requirements of the Turbocare factory in Torino, Italy.

World experience indicates that the problems of ensuring sustainable development of agriculture have become an urgent need, therefore, the concepts of traditional technology for cultivating crops should be substantially revised not only from the standpoint of environmental management, but also to improve the economic situation in the industry. Greening of agriculture contributes to natural restoration of soil fertility, maintaining the balance of nature, on which agricultural economy largely depends. A growing quantity of farms in the USA, China, Russia, India, Japan and the EU countries conduct their farming in harmony with nature. The ultimate goals of their activities are ecologically balanced farming, animal husbandry and this agriculture industry technology acts as an alternative to traditional (industrial) farming. Development of organic agriculture involves the search and implementation of new technologies from a science-based position and due to the laws of optimal environmental management. In the article, the authors substantiate the need to enhance introduction of organic farming methods in order to ensure sustainable development and sustainable use of natural resources. Based on the study of foreign agriculture experience, the authors developed a number of key measures for the development of organic agriculture in Russian conditions.

This paper predicts and analyzes the output, energy consumption and CO2emission in Chongqing’s electric power industry in 16 years to come using a dynamics simulation system of carbon emission. A comparison with historical data indicates a desirable goodness of fit of the simulated results, which show that the power generation in Chongqing will reach the peak of about 180 billion KWH in 2020 and 378 billion KWH in 2030, followed by a steady rise in the following 15 years; the per capita power consumption will reach 5350 KWH in 2020 and 12,000 KWH in 2030; the CO2emission will reach about 102,200,000 tons in 2020 and about 232,600,000 tons in 2030; the CO2emission per unit electricity generation will reach 570gco2/kwh in 2020 and about 620gco2/kwh in 2030. Based on the data, this paper analyzes the influence of different technical paths and policy options on emission in various developmental scenarios, and proposes specific paths for emission reduction.

The 701G1 50Hz Combustion Turbine continues a long line of large heavy-duty single-shaft combustion turbines by combining the proven efficient and reliable concepts of the 501F and 701F. The output of the 701G1 is 255MW with combined cycle net efficiency of over 57%. A pan of component development was conducted under the joint development program with Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc. and a part of the design work was carried out under the cooperation with Westinghouse Electric Corporation in the U.S.A. and Fiat Avio in Italy. This gas turbine is going to be installed to “Higashi Niigata Power Plants NO.4” of Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc. in Japan. This plant will begin commercial operation in 1999. This paper describes some design results and new technologies in designing and developing this next generation 1500°C class advanced gas turbine.

With the advent of the new technologies in the area of the remote sensing, the survey of the natural resources started if to use of sophisticated techniques that aim at a more adequate mapping in terms of representative and necessary information of the phenomena and superficial objects, allowing to study the dynamics, to lead, to handling adequately and to monitor. The use of digital photographic pictures is very promising, beyond the easy acquisition supplies important information on changes in the use of the land. The digital cameras, possess potential and application in the monitoring of the natural features. They also present the advantage in the reduction of costs due not to need the process revelation and magnifying because it excuses to the use of the film and scanering of the photograph and, makes possible that the result is seen in the monitor of the computer, besides presenting resolution better. This work has as objective to present a quarrel on the acquired digital photograph use from digital cameras high resolution in the mapping of the forest features.
