The parameters amenable to biofeedback learning are mentioned, including brainwaves, muscle tension, temperature, the cardiovascular system, and others. A discussion follows of the clinical application of biofeedback in the treatment of such disorders as tension headaches, neuromuscular re-education, epilepsy, “dysponesis,” cardiac arrhythmias, blood pressure and migraines. The usefulness of biofeedback has been demonstrated also in the field of psychotherapy for purposes of desensitization, treating anxious patients, encouraging specific personality changes, and indicating stress to patients.

In recent decades, there has been a significant increase in the incidence and prevalence of diabetes mellitus. Diabetes mellitus is characterized by the development of vascular complications leading to early disability and a decrease in the life expectancy of patients. Aging of the body inevitably leads to the occurrence of age-related diseases, including the cardiovascular system, and increases the risk of death. Metabolic and structural and functional disorders of the cardiovascular system arising in diabetes mellitus have common pathophysiological mechanisms with aging of the body. Chronic hyperglycemia can accelerate the aging process and play a decisive role in the occurrence and prognosis of cardiovascular events in patients with diabetes mellitus. Achieving target glycemic values is an important step towards preventing vascular complications in patients with diabetes mellitus. Improved models of glucometers, equipped with a number of additional functions, allow for structured self-control of glycemia, analyze the data obtained and carry out timely correction of therapy, actively involve patients in the process of diabetes management, which will significantly increase the efficiency of disease management, reduce the risk of complications in patients and improve the quality of life.

Abstract Heavy-loading and high automated thermal spray turntable is an essential tool to control quality of coatings. Heavy-loading thermal spray turntable, with a good performance of high precision and self-controlled frequency conversion has been studied. The unit can serve a working piece having a maximum diameter of 1OOmm, a height of 2000mm and a weight of 1500T. The eccentricity can be adjusted, ranging from - 100mm to 100mm. Additionally, the practical production and site test have proved that the turntable has reliable dustproof and heatproof properties, which meets the technical requirement of the thermal spray production. Key Words: Thermal spray, Turntable, Heavy-loading, High precision, Self-control

The article examines the personal characteristics of patients with diseases of the cardiovascular system (ischemic heart disease and hypertensive heart disease) in connection with the formation of adherence to treatment. The study identified personal factors interrelated with various aspects of adherence, which are considered in line with the author's approach (awareness, medical trust, health-preserving behavior). Thus, the personality factors that favor the effective awareness of the patient about the lifestyle and therapy are high self-control, sensitivity, flexibility and social courage, while dominance acts as a psychological barrier in this regard. The formation of trust is positively associated with a high standard of behavior, diplomacy and self-control, and negatively with non-conformism. The behavioral aspect of adherence is determined by emotional stability, low anxiety and, in part, intelligence. At the same time, expressiveness and independence have a negative relationship with this component. Differences were found in the mean values on the adherence scale in men and women, as well as in samples of patients with different nosologies. The hypothesis of differences in the distribution of types of attitudes towards the disease in patients with hypertension and coronary heart disease was confirmed.

Behavioral study about how people make decision becomes very popular nowadays. Many various researches address a problem or an error in people action. One of the errors that would like to be explored in this article is endowment effect. Endowment effect explains that people perceive fairness based on prior knowledge or a “frame” that put into their mind. This would be a problem because it could cause inconsistency in people action. Purpose of this research is to detect the endowment effect on university student when COVID-19 is taking place. The issue that would like to be explored is medical mask price increase during this outbreak. Simple survey on two groups of university students is conducted to detect this endowment effect. If the response from research respondents is the same on both groups then there is no endowment effect. Independent t-test is applied to test research hypothesis and validate the result. The finding is quite surprising; there is inconsistency between descriptive and hypothetical result. Most of respondents agree that the price is actually tradable at Rp 4,000 (it increases from normal price and about 0.27 USD) but they are reluctant to say this action fair. Some discussion and analysis are performed to expand this finding.   Key Words: Behavioral Economics, Bounded Rationality, Endowment Effect, Opportunity Cost, and Self-Control

AbstractThe current study presents the development and validation of a questionnaire on motivational competence in exercise and sport. Motivational competence characterises the self-determined ability to choose a suitable exercise and sport activity. Knowing one’s own preferences and what to expect in different activities helps people to make this choice, which, in turn, supports them in maintaining their physical activity (PA) on a long-term and regular basis. The developed items cover the following three components of motivational competence: 1) knowing one’s own preferences, 2) knowing what to expect in different exercise and sport activities, and 3) choosing and arranging an exercise and sport activity. Psychometric properties were checked using a sample with N = 667 adults (Mage = 42.49, SD = 14.71, 62% female). The final one-dimensional scale consists of four items. Construct validity showed positive relationships to intrinsic and identified motivation modes of self-concordance and conversely no relationship to introjected and low negative to extrinsic motivation. For criterion validity, the structural equation modeling demonstrated that motivational competence and PA-specific self-control are independently and positively associated with exercise and sport behaviour. Overall, the newly developed scale is a psychometrically sound and economical instrument to be used in exercise and sport promotion (e.g. counselling) and research.
