The article examines loan words and modern Internet language in Chinese, the method of their translation, the mechanism of their transformation into stable expressions of the normative language. With the development of globalization and information technology, some neologisms and new expressions appear in the Chinese language. The study of this problem allows us to show the dynamic nature of the language, to consider the interaction of language and the development of society. The goals and objectives of the study are to identify the semantic volume of some loan words in the Chinese language, to analyze the impact of translation on the linguistic picture of the world, to explore new expressions associated with information science. For the study, an associative experiment is carried out among Chinese respondents, language fragments from the media and the corpus of the modern Chinese language are analyzed. It is indicated that when entering into the Chinese linguistic composition, foreign-language words and the Internet language are often given a Chinese mentality and worldview. Different translation methods will have a certain impact on the cognition and world outlook of native Chinese speakers.

AbstractThis review involved 60 articles chosen from 336 empirical studies identified in five leading journals on the learning and teaching of Chinese as a second or foreign language in mainland China during the period 2014–2018. The selected studies document Chinese researchers' efforts to improve the teaching and learning of the Chinese language in terms of language pedagogy, language learning and teacher development. We contend that these studies on the teaching and learning of Chinese as a second or foreign language (CSL/CFL) can contribute to the advancement of second/foreign language education theories even though they were largely conducted to address local needs and interests in the Chinese context. Unfortunately, the impact of these studies on international language education research and pedagogical development remains limited and peripheral. For this reason, this review concludes with recommendations for Chinese researchers and journal editors in the field of Chinese language teaching and learning research on how to promote quality empirical research and enhance their contributions to second/foreign language education research.

<p align="LEFT">Based on the vowel pattern, an experiment</p><p align="LEFT">is designed to summarize and compare the</p><p align="LEFT">Chinese vowel pattern articulated by Spanish</p><p align="LEFT">students whose first foreign language is English</p><p align="LEFT">and second foreign language is Chinese, and the</p><p align="LEFT">native Chinese speakers. The aim of this study is</p><p align="LEFT">to investigate the transference of mother</p><p align="LEFT">tongue and the first foreign language in the</p><p align="LEFT">learning of a second foreign language. It is</p><p align="LEFT">found that the mother tongue and the first</p><p align="LEFT">foreign language both have the impact on</p><p align="LEFT">transferring the vowel pronunciation to the</p><p align="LEFT">second foreign language. The conditions of</p><p align="LEFT">interference of mother tongue are relatively</p><p align="LEFT">stricter. Compared with the transference of</p><p align="LEFT">mother tongue, the transference condition of</p><p align="LEFT">the first foreign language is stricter. The</p><p align="LEFT">construction of vowel pattern in interlanguage</p><p>is in accordance with the internal law of</p><p>children’s acquisition of mother tongue.</p>

The article is devoted to the study of creativity in younger students. The focus is on the impact of Southeast Asian languages and cultures on the development of creativity in younger Russian students learning Chinese, as well as on the impact of the educational environment on creative performance of schoolchildren. The paper presents the results of a three-year longitudinal study (2013–2016), implemented on the basis of the MBU to «Children’s Art School No. 7» and MBOU Secondary School No. 49, Chita, obtained by using the battery of the P. Torrens creativity test and the E. Tunic creative characteristics test. The empirical study involved 135 people: 105 pupils (3 groups of 35 pupils each) aged 9 to 11 years and 30 teachers, including 15 teachers of MBU DO «Children’s Art School No. 7» and 15 teachers of MBOU SOSH №49 (with in-depth study of English). The experimental group was represented by pupils of the foreign language studio learning Chinese. The control groups included 70 schoolchildren – students of the departments of theatrical and choreographic art (35 people at either department) who do not learn Chinese. The results indicate a statistically significant dependence of the elaboration and originality of the tasks performed by children (P. Torrens test) on their studies in the foreign language studio (Chinese language). The data obtained show a link between the educational environment and the creativity indicators of younger schoolchildren learning Chinese. The results of the study show that learning Chinese contributes to the development of creativity in children of primary school age. The language increases the intonational semantic distinction in speech, it facilitates the creation of an ambivalent context, which contributes to the development of susceptibility to the new even at the early school age. Learning Chinese has an increased effect on the ability to propose new ideas that are different from standard ones, it also contributes to constructive and inventive human activity. With considerable probability, it can be argued that the creativity of younger schoolchildren is formed mainly under the influence of their mastering the ideographic writing of the Chinese language.

Analyzing the so-called “double negation”, that is, the construction of strengthening negation, in the linguistic and didactic aspect, the authors note that in the practice of teaching Russian as a foreign language, the construction of “double negation” is explained in two ways, depending on the native language of the students. When explaining the model, native Chinese speakers need to pay attention to the replacement of pronouns and adverbs, like все (all), всегда (always), везде (everywhere), with negative verbs to negative with the prefix ни (no): никто (nobody), никогда (never), нигде (nowhere), because the Chinese language consciousness does not accept a negative modification of the statement, normative for Russian. The article presents linguistic and conditionally-communicative exercises that contribute to the automation and introduction of this structural model into active speech. Difficulties in the development of this construction, associated precisely with its specificity, are due, according to the authors, primarily to the very possibility of strengthening the negation, its repetition, indicating the specificity of Russian linguistic and cultural consciousness. Considering the construction of “double negation” in the linguistic and culture study aspect, the authors note that its “pleonasm” indicates, on the one hand, the importance of negation for the Russian linguistic consciousness, and on the other hand, the subtle differentiation of logically comparable situations with subjects all / no, etc. Techniques for working with Russian constructions are seen in the mirror of the Chinese language.

<p>The evidence of cultural link between Indonesia and China does not always could be seen from classical artefacts only but also from the existence of some vocabularies in the written and oral language in Indonesian language (Bahasa Indonesia). Survey concerned with the vocabularies in Indonesian language which derived from foreign language, including those words derived from Chinese language, was conducted by Russell Jones. The result had been written in a book called <em>‘Loan Words in Indonesian and Malay</em>’. The survey had recorded around 1.100 words in Chinese language which had been borrowed<br />by the Indonesian language and had spread out in differnt kinds of aspect of meaning, including the aspect of meaning related to food and beverage, which will be described in this paper.</p>

The aim of this article is the analysis of the results of previous Serbian research on the impact of globalization on the Serbian media language. One of the main negative aspects of globalization is the weakening of national identity in order to adapt to world trends. The negative effects of globalization processes include the decline in the print media circulation and the growing popularity of cheap entertainment content offered by television, the disappearance of analytical, quality press, as well as the adaptation of information to mass distribution. The Serbian media language reflects the general social trend of approaching European and world trends, which, in addition to numerous positive effects, carries with it the risk of neglecting the elements of national cultural heritage, including the use of the national alphabet. Globalization processes affect all levels of the language structure and as a result, they are also manifested in the Serbian media language at the phonological, morphological, syntactic and orthographic level. The Serbian media language is characterized by the unjustified use of internationalisms originating from the English language. Anglicisms are often inadequately adapted, and most often appear in entertainment news and texts about popular culture, which are addressed to younger readers, as well as in electronic editions of printed dailies, weeklies and magazines in Serbia. The effects of cultural globalization, which is perhaps most visible in the media sphere, can be mitigated if the elements of national cultural heritage are carefully preserved. The use of Cyrillic in the Serbian media, the use of anglicisms only when they are really necessary, and a critical attitude towards the adoption of foreign language patterns can reduce the negative consequences of McDonaldization in the media sphere.

Despite of the popularity of interactive movie trailers, rigorous research on one of the most apparent features of these interfaces – the level of user control – has been scarce. This study explored the effects of user control on users’ immersion and enjoyment of the movie trailers, moderated by the content type. We conducted a 2 (high user control versus low user control) × 2 (drama film trailer versus documentary film trailer) mixed-design factorial experiment. The results showed that the level of user control over movie trailer interfaces decreased users’ immersion when the trailer had an element of traditional story structure, such as a drama film trailer. Participants in the high user control condition answered that they were less fascinated with, absorbed in, focused on, mentally involved with, and emotionally affected by the movie trailer than participants in the low user control condition only with the drama movie trailer. The negative effects of user control on the level of immersion for the drama trailer translated into users’ enjoyment. The impact of user control over interfaces on immersion and enjoyment varies depending on the nature of the media content, which suggests a possible trade-off between the level of user control and entertainment outcomes.

<p><em>In this study, I have collected and summarized the functional aspects of a literary prize, contest, and rating, which indicate their affiliation with the marketing complex of the publishing house for the first time. For this purpose, I have analyzed and summarized the common concepts of the functioning of literary prizes and contests as advertising tools for publishing activity. Because the previous studies are only focused on the fact of the impact of the prize on the promotion of editions but do not explain it, these aspects have been considered and introduced by me from the book production’s point of view. I investigated that the prizes and the contests in the literary field are effective marketing tools, which meet many publisher’s needs at the same time and can be considered a non-profit form of capital. I have reviewed the works of other authors, who accept that the economic success of the book is rising if the author is a winner of the literary prize or contest. I have found out that the book prize activates the demand for the book, and the literary contest is a tool to track the reader’s reaction to a future publication. In this way, literary prizes and contests can be considered as a way of conducting a marketing dialogue with the target audience. I have focused on the information support of literary national and international prizes and contests by the media, which attracts attention to the book and forms the reader’s interest. The literary prizes and contests are also considered as a way of exploring trends and their changes, familiarization the popular genres among the target audience and fixation the current choice of modern readers. Literary prizes and contests motivate the authors to improve their literary excellence, are the source of new authors and works, and assist in increasing sales of books. Abstract This paper deals with the characteristics of the scientific research of the renowned Slovak linguist Klára Buzássyová who – as a lecturer at the Studia Academica Slovaca summer school of Slovak language and culture – presented to foreign students the specifics of Slovak lexis and their function in speech within the context of intraand interlingual relationships. In her lectures, she helped students to see Slovak as a developped and modern Central European language which has its own genetic and typological properties and as a language capable of reacting to dynamic changes emerging from the communication needs of language users while respecting current trends in European language policy. Klára Buzássyová presented students with the latest results of her linguistic research and discussed the issues regarding the dynamics of vocabulary with an emphasis on the methods of wordformation, motivation, and the impact on the semantic and stylistic value of lexical units. Her papers, published in the Studia Academica Slovaca proceedings from 1980 to 2001 presented her scientific orientation and became an inspiration for the linguistic and didactic conception of Slovak as a foreign language in the context of the development of Slovak studies in Slovakia as well as abroad.
