This paper aims at analyzing the socio-economic status of widows in the Jhenidah district and evaluate the impact of socio-economic status on the widows’ livelihood in society. For achieving the purpose of the study, the researchers collected the primary data by a structured questionnaire, and data were gathered from sixteen respondents from Jhenidah district by a convenient sampling method. The researchers in this study found that widows suffer from multiple social problems and restrictions. Moreover, the widows are feeling discouraged in their lives though they earn a satisfactory figure since dissatisfaction arises from the multiplicity of social problems for the widows.

Abstract Organizations and managers during their organizational activities, not rarely face different conflicts. Managers, depending on their gender, use different ways to resolve these conflicts while this reflects on their subordinates. The purpose of this study is to analyse the most common approaches applied to resolve conflicts in organizations in Kosovo and the impact of gender on the choice of style to handle conflicts. The study employs a quantitative approach whilst convenience sampling method is used for the purpose of selecting respondents. The study is conducted in ten largest companies in Kosovo in which hundred employees and fifty managers were included. A structured questionnaire is used to collect primary data and necessary tests were conducted through SPSS. Results reveal that managers use the integrative style more than other styles during the conflict management process; gender partially affects the choice of the style and the style of conflict management affects the likelihood of managers among employees. The study suggests that the field of conflict management among organizations in Kosovo needs more academic research.

Nowadays Self-Help Group or SHG plays a vital role not only in social transformation and upliftment of rural women but also in social-economic betterment of them. The main objective of this paper is to examine the impact assessment in the socio-economic status of rural women through Self Help Groups with the help of a micro-level study of two C. D. blocks namely Dhaniakhali and Polba-Dadpur in Hooghly district. 40572 SHGs are consisting of 394897 members in 18 C. D. blocks of Hooghly district. Among the blocks, Daniakhali and Polba-Dadpur were selected for the study, of which 28 groups are chosen randomly. From these selected groups 108 members have been selected to conduct the primary survey. Personal interviews were conducted to find out the major purposes of the study i.e. to examine the role of SHG in developing the socio-economic status of rural women and to analyse the impact of SHGs in decision making. The study is mainly based on primary data and simple per cent calculation is used for analysing the data. The major analytical tool employed for the study is tabular analysis to facilitate easy interpretation. Map of the study area is prepared through ArcGIS 10.5 software. The present study explains a detailed socio-economic profile of the SHG members in the study area.

The study examined the structure and efficiency of trade in wild snail in Selected Markets in fivepurposively selected popular markets in Ibadan metropolis, Oyo state Nigeria. Primary data were obtained from ahundred and twenty (120) snail marketers with the use of structured questionnaire and analyzed using Descriptivestatistics, Gini coefficient and budgetary analysis. According to the study, 80% of the respondents sourced theirgoods (snails) from the wild and the selling price is largely determined by the socio economic status of the buyer(40%). Also the enterprise is dominated by females (83.3%), more profitable in Apata market with a profit margin of ₦167,000 and generally efficient. Furthermore there is high inequality in the structure of the market as the gini coefficient (0.59) tends towards one while the major constraints to  marketing include transportation (from the wild to the market) competition among marketers and storage. The study therefore recommends that snail farming (heliculture) should be encouraged so that there will be massive production and availability of snails all year round. This would mitigate the identified problems and increase the benefits accruing to players in the snail value chain. Keywords: Structure, Efficiency, Wild snail, Ibadan metropolis, Profit Margin.

Purpose Nowadays, innovation appears as one of the main driving forces of organisational success. Despite the above fact, its impact on the propensity of an organisation to develop and sustain a competitive advantage has not yet received sufficient empirical investigation. The purpose of this paper is to enhance the existing empirical literature by focusing on the antecedents of innovation and its impact on competitive advantage. It proposes a newly developed conceptual framework that adopts a three-step approach, highlighting areas that have rarely been simultaneously examined before. Design/methodology/approach The examination of the proposed conceptual framework was performed with the use of a newly developed structured questionnaire that was distributed to a group of Greek manufacturing companies. The questionnaire has been successfully completed by chief executive officers (CEOs) from 189 different companies. CEOs were used as key respondents due to their knowledge and experience. The reliability and the validity of the questionnaire were thoroughly examined. Empirical data were analysed using the structural equation modelling technique. The study is empirical (based on primary data), explanatory (examines cause and effect relationships), deductive (tests research hypotheses) and quantitative (includes the analysis of quantitative data collected with the use of a structured questionnaire). Findings Results indicate that knowledge management, intellectual capital, organisational capabilities and organisational culture have significant direct and indirect effects on innovation, underlining the importance of their simultaneous enhancement. Finally, the positive effect of innovation on the creation of competitive advantages is empirically validated, bridging the gap in the relevant literature and offering avenues for additional future research. Originality/value The causal relationship between innovation and competitive advantage, despite its significant theoretical support, has not been empirically validated. The present paper aspires to bridge this gap, investigating the impact of innovation on the development of competitive advantages. Moreover, the present study adopts a multidimensional approach that has never been explored in the existing innovation literature, making the examination of the proposed conceptual framework an interesting research topic.

Stroke is a high-risk factor for depression. Neurological rehabilitation is greatly difficult and often does not include treatment of depression. The post-stroke depression plays an important role in the progress of treatment, health, and the life of the patient. The appropriate treatment of depression could improve the quality of life of the patient and their family. The study aimed to evaluate the impact of physical activity and socio-economic status of the patient on the effectiveness of recovery from depression and the severity of the symptoms of depression. The study was conducted with 40 patients after stroke aged 42–82 years, and included 10 women and 30 men who were hospitalized for two weeks. The severity of depression/anxiety (D/A) symptoms were evaluated two times; at admission and after two weeks of physical therapy. The hospital anxiety and depression scale (HADS) questionnaire was used for this purpose. Socio-economic status was evaluated by several simple questions. It was revealed that physical therapy has a positive influence on mental state. The severity of D/A symptoms after stroke is related to the financial status of the patients (2 = 11.198, p = 0.024). The state of health (2 = 20.57, p = 0.022) and physical fitness (2 = 12.95, p = 0.044) changed the severity of symptoms of anxiety and depressive disorders. The kinesiotherapy in the group of patients with post-stroke depression had positive effects; however, economic and health conditions may influence the prognosis of the disease.

IntroductionWith the process of globalisation in full flow, the movement of people and products across the globe has brought a series of difficulties. With migration the socio-economic status of the individuals may change with the likelihood that this status will be lower rather than higher, although depending upon the reasons for migration this may change too.ObjectivesLiterature shows that low socio-economic status is associated with a higher level of psychiatric morbidity.AimsWhether migration acts as a mediator needs to be investigated further.MethodsVarious studies have shown that rates of psychosis are elevated in migrants though these rates are differentially increased in different groups indicating that factors other than migration may be at play.ResultsIn this presentation the literature and link the acculturation and cultural identity with post-migration experiences will be reviewed.ConclusionA link exists between the perceptions within cultures and level of economic development of what constitutes mental health. The state of advancement of mental health services of a country will certainly have a large impact on prevalence rates. Further investigation should be carried out to examine in greater depth the relationship between social inequality and disorder prevalence, as distinct from income inequality.

Sustainable economic development does not occur without entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship is the practice of starting new organizations or revitalizing mature organizations. This study therefore is done to analyse the impact of innovation, technology and on the entrepreneurial development activities in Nigeria. Simple random sampling technique was used to select a total of 12 entrepreneurs from Lagos State that constituted our sample size. The primary data consists of a number of items in well- structured questionnaire that was administered to and completed by the respondents. Regression analysis was used to analyse the data. The results showed that there is significant relationship between technological innovation and entrepreneurship development in Nigeria. It is therefore recommended that government should create a friendly or an enabling environment for entrepreneurship and consumer goods to boost the Nigeria economy.

<p>The main purpose of this study is to examine the impact of green marketing tools on product choice and how green initiatives influence purchase intention of consumers. The research also attempts to examine the relationship between age, income, education, and occupation with consumer purchase intention in association with green marketing tools. The study is descriptive in nature and focuses on hypothesis testing using structured questionnaire and interview. Structured questionnaire is used to collect primary data from a sample size of 120 respondents focusing on employed, self-employed, students and homemakers. These groups are assumed to represent green purchase in today’s society. However, opinions of marketing professionals have also been considered. The survey population represents the people who go for shopping; data have also been collected from the point of purchase. Green purchase intention was seen to be incremental considering the increase in the level of education of individuals. Green marketing tools i.e., environmental belief, green packaging, green branding, green advertisement, green labelling has been taken into account to observe its significance towards consumer purchase intention. Likert scale questions with five-scalerating were used to do the hypothesis testing. The questions included statements in conjunction with the measure of green marketing tool’s influence over consumer purchase intention. The research revealed that green marketing tools played a significant role in inducing a positive purchase intention towards green products. HIV related stigma and discrimination is a known barrier for HIV prevention and care. We aimed to assess the relationship between socio-economic status (SES) and HIV related stigma in Zimbabwe. This paper uses data from Project Accept, which examined the impact of community-based voluntary counseling and testing intervention on HIV incidence and stigma. Total of 2522 eligible participants responded to a psychometric assessment tool, which assessed HIV related stigma and discrimination attitudes on 4 point Likert scale. The tool measured three components of HIVrelated stigma: shame, blame and social isolation, perceived discrimination, and equity. Participants’ ownership of basic assets was used to assess the socio-economic status. Shame, blame and social isolation component of HIV related stigma was found to be significantly associated with medium [odds ratio (OR)=1.73, P<0.01] and low SES (OR=1.97, P<0.01), indicating more stigmatizing attitudes by participants belonging to medium and low SES in comparison to high SES. For HIV related stigma and discrimination programs to be effective, they should take into account the socio-economic context of target population.
