Cross Border Entrepreneurship (CBE) contributes to regional economic development through international opportunities recognition and exploitation. This study tends to explore and review the CBE literature to find the gaps by systematically investigating the existing literature guide by PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis) statement. This study emphasis on the country’s classification, perspective area, methods of study, as well as underpinning theories. It reveals 32 relevant research topics of the literature of CBE and highlights four main gaps. First, previous studies of CBE are yet to explore extensively in transition and developing countries. Second, areas of study lack focus on the process of identifying critical issues of CBE. Third, qualitative strategies which enable the specification of new output findings of the CBE are yet explored. Lastly, experiential learning theory, agency theory, financial theory, cash flow theory, locational condition theory, behavioural internationalization process theory, entrepreneurial opportunities theory, and human capital theory yet be utilized and diversified to develop a new understanding of a variety of challenging phenomena in the CBE studies.

AbstractClassifying scientific articles, patents, and other documents according to the relevant research topics is an important task, which enables a variety of functionalities, such as categorising documents in digital libraries, monitoring and predicting research trends, and recommending papers relevant to one or more topics. In this paper, we present the latest version of the CSO Classifier (v3.0), an unsupervised approach for automatically classifying research papers according to the Computer Science Ontology (CSO), a comprehensive taxonomy of research areas in the field of Computer Science. The CSO Classifier takes as input the textual components of a research paper (usually title, abstract, and keywords) and returns a set of research topics drawn from the ontology. This new version includes a new component for discarding outlier topics and offers improved scalability. We evaluated the CSO Classifier on a gold standard of manually annotated articles, demonstrating a significant improvement over alternative methods. We also present an overview of applications adopting the CSO Classifier and describe how it can be adapted to other fields.

AbstractObjective: Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is one of the most prevalent psychological disorders. Methods to alleviate its symptoms range from ‘talking therapies’ to pharmaceutical interventions. Our objective was to carry out a systematic review of the effectiveness of sertraline, an SSRI, as a treatment for PTSD.Method: Databases were searched to identify relevant research on sertraline as a treatment for PTSD.Results: Five randomised control trials were identified, along with seven open trials and case series studies. Conclusions: The review and meta-analysis supported the use of sertraline for PTSD though further research on sub-group differences (eg. gender) is required.

AbstractThe aim of this article is to determine the current state of impact of various forms of intangible assets on the internationalization process. For the purpose of the paper meta-analysis was adopted as a method of the study. English-language peer-reviewed journal articles were analyzed only with the help of: EBSCOhost, ScienceDirect, Emerald, JSTOR, ProQuest and Wiley Online databases. The search was aimed at newest papers (after 2012), however some older articles (with regard to their value) were included in the analysis as well. Based on the conducted analysis, there was observed a significant and positive link between the level of employee education and internationalization probability and extent. The effect of the wages on internationalization is stage dependent. Under certain assumptions there is a positive and strong relationship between R&D intensity and internationalization. Advertising spending do not foster the process of internationalization. The practical contribution of this research is twofold. First, it provides valuable insight for practitioners which intangible assets and how foster various modes of the internationalization process. Second, it describes upon which conditions the interrelation between firm intangible assets and internationalization is significant and positive.

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this activity is to improve student soft skills in (1) determining research topics to be submitted as a final project (thesis), (2) making it easier for students to trace relevant research results that support their research, (3) avoiding plagiarism activities during the preparation of results research, and (4) make it easier for students to write references and compile bibliography. This activity was attended by 80 final semester students. The workshop is an ideal method carried out by the Abdimas team so that it runs smoothly. In the final stage, participants filled out a Likert Scale questionnaire with four options to measure students' understanding and ability during the workshop. The results of the questionnaire showed as much as 91.27% of students had understood the strategy of preparing and completing the final project, while the remaining 8.73% did not understand the part of determining the statistical test used to answer the research hypothesis. Keywords: student soft skills; digital based reference; thesis compilation.

Using mobile devices to support the process and products of learning activities is a trend in inquiry-based learning, which is culminating in the formation of the subfield of mobile inquiry-based learning (m-IBL). However, even though mobile devices have been widely used in IBL activities in recent years, evaluative evidence for their substantial contributions to IBL is still deficient. Therefore, this study collected and analyzed 40 peer-reviewed journal articles published during 2001 to 2017 involving 3,542 participants and further discovered that m-IBL has produced meaningful improvements for IBL with an overall mean effect size of 0.803, with a 95% confidence interval [0.61, 0.99]. In addition, moderator variables such as control group types, learning outcomes, inquiry types, teaching methods, and domain subjects were related to different effect sizes. Finally, the results of the meta-analysis were discussed along with their implications for future research and practice.

This commentary reflects upon my experiences modelling epidemics from a geographical perspective. In particular, I consider different approaches to the modelling of epidemics and other forms of data analysis relevant to the COVID-19 pandemic within a geographical context, especially with respect to the need for ‘just in time’ policy-relevant research.

Since laser technology has considerable synergy with machining technologies, Laser Machining (LM) and Laser Assisted Machining (LAM) are relevant research topics. This paper attempts to give an overview of recent developments and research trends. Although scientific work on this area has contributed to the understanding of the process, there are still unresolved problems regarding the limitations of the techniques, optimum machining conditions, etc. The outcome of experimental investigations on LAM shows potential applications for this process but there are several issues to be resolved.
