Sandfish (Holothurai scabra) and seaweed Gracilaria sp are marine commodities that have economic value and have good prospects in the market. These two commodities, if rearing together, will certainly provide added value to farmers. This research aims to determine the potential of sea cucumber polyculture, (H. scabra) and Gracilaria sp. which is maintained in culture. This research was conducted in April - May 2018 in the coastal of Rat village, Southeast Maluku Regency. Sea cucumbers are weighed and stocked on Pen-culture (measuring 4 x 3 meters) with a density of 40 individuals / Pen-culture. Gracilaria seeds are taken from young thallus which are tied into one clump and ditagging. After that, Gracilaria was weighed and spread in Pen-culture of 20 clump / Pen-culture. Observation of growth and survival of sandfish and Gracilaria sp done once a week. At the same time, predator control is carried out on pen-culture and water quality measurements. The results showed that sea cucumbers experienced absolute growth and survival rates of 18.20 g and 92.5% respectively. Gracilaria sp which is maintained does not experience growth, while the percentage of survival of Gracilaria sp is 20%. Based on the results of the research it can be concluded that Polyculture of sandfish, H. scaba and seaweed, Gracilria sp is not effective if Gracilria sp is stocked on the basis of Pen-culture.Keyword : Sandfish, Gracilaria, PolycultureABSTRAKTeripang pasir (Holothurai scabra) dan rumput laut Gracilaria sp merupakan komuditi laut yang bernilai ekonomis dan mempunyai prospek yang baik dipasaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi polikultur teripang pasir, (H. scabra) dan Gracilaria sp. yang dipelihara pada pen-culture.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April – Mei 2018 di perairan desa Rat, Kabupaten Maluku Tenggara. Teripang pasir ditimbang dan ditebar pada Pen-culture berukuran 4 x 3 meter dengan kepadatan 40 individu/Pen-culture. Bibit Gracilaria diambil dari thallus muda yang diikat menjadi satu rumpun dan ditagging. Setelah itu, Gracilaria ditimbang dan ditebar pada Pen-culture sebanyak 20 rumpun/ Pen-culture.Pengamatan pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup teripang pasir dan Gracilaria sp. dilakukan  seminggu sekali. Pada waktu yang bersamaan, dilakukan juga pengontrolan predator pada Pen-culture dan pengukuran kualitas air. Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa teripang mengalami rata-rata pertumbuhan mutlak dan kelangsungan hidup, masing-masing sebesar 18.20 g dan 92.5 %. Gracilaria sp yang dipelihara tidak mengalami pertumbuhan, sedangkan presentase kelangungan hidup Gracilaria sp sebesar 20 %. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Polikultur teripang pasir, H. scaba dan rumput laut, Gracilria sp tidak efektif jika Gracilria sp ditebar pada dasar Pen-culture. Kata kunci : Teripang pasir, Gracilaria, Polikultur

<p align="center"><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p>Sea cucumber <em>Holothuria </em>sp. is a marine biota that has economic value. The rearing activity of sea cucumbers is still limited to the have bay or strait areas with relatively calm coastal. This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of two types of pen‒culture system for sea cucumber rearing to the influence of ocean waves and currents. This research was done from February to July 2017 in the coastal of Rat village, Southeast Maluku Regency. The two of cultivated containers tested were a conventional pen‒culture (treatment A) and engineered pen‒culture (treatment B). A total of 30 individuals sea cucumber seeds sized 4‒6 cm were released at each pen‒culture. Survival rate and water quality were also calculated as supporting data. Observation of endurance and clearance of pen‒culture was done every two weeks. The result of visual observation showed that conventional pen‒culture treatment A was more quickly damaged and it was more damaged compared to engineered pen-culture treatment B.Through t‒test we got T <sub>count</sub> (1.065) &lt; T<sub>table</sub> (6.313) for survival and T <sub>count</sub> (0.084) &lt; T<sub>table</sub> (1.782) for growth. The result means that treatment A and treatment B have the same effect onsurvival rate and growth of sea cucumber. Kegiatan budidaya teripang masih terbatas pada daerah‒daerah yang berteluk atau berselat dengan perairan yang relatif tenang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan efektivitas dua sistem budidaya teripang dalam kurungan tancap terhadap pengaruh gelombang laut dan arus. Penelitian ini berlangsung dari bulan Februari hingga Juni 2017 di perairan Desa Rat, Kabupaten Maluku Tenggara. Dua tipe wadah budidaya yang diujicobakan adalah kurungan tancap konvensional (perlakuan A) dan kurungan tancap yang direkayasa (perlakuan B). Pada setiap kurungan tancap, dimasukkan teripang pasir berukuran 4‒6 cm sebanyak 30 ekor. Sebagai data pendukung, dihitung persentase kelangsungan hidup dan pengukuran kualitas air. Pengamatan ketahanan dan kebersihan kurungan tancap dilakukan setiap dua minggu sekali. Hasil pengamatan visual diketahui bahwa kurungan tancap perlakuan A lebih cepat rusak dan mengalami kerusakan yang lebih besar dibandingkan perlakuan B. Melalui uji-tdiperoleh hasil T<sub>hitung</sub> (1,065) &lt; T<sub>tabel</sub> (6,313) untuk kelangsungan hidup, dan T<sub>hitung </sub>(0,084) &lt; T <sub>tabel</sub> (1,782) untuk pertumbuhan.  Hasil uji‒t bermakna bahwa perlakuan A dan perlakuan B memiliki pengaruh yang sama terhadap kelangsungan hidup dan pertumbuhan teripang. Sea cucumbers are an Indonesian fisheries export commodity. Sea cucumber populations that are endangered in nature encourage sea cucumbers to be produced through hatchery and nursery. Through nursery, it is expected that sea cucumber juveniles are stronger and can increase survival rate when stocked in growth containers or restocked. This study aims to provide better sandfish nursery techniques and local area characteristics to support hatchery activities. This study was conducted in May - July 2018 at the Hatchery CV Pesona Manir Rat, Southeast Maluku Regency. Juvenile sandfish 30-36 days old, rearing in hapa measuring 100 x 100 x 70 cm with a density of 200 individuals/hapa. In one tank rearing is placed one hapa. During rearing, 100-150% of water is changed and given one-liter Navicular sp. every day. Aeration was installed 4 points on each hapa and water quality measurement was conducted every day. At the end of the study, body length measurements and mortality calculations were conducted. The result is that sea cucumber juvenile which is maintained has absolute growth ranging from 1.98 to 2.1 cm with an average absolute growth of 2.03 cm. The average mortality obtained was 53.83% with a range of 53% - 55%. Based on the discussion it was concluded that this technique can be applied in sandfish nursery. ABSTRAKTeripang merupakan komuditi eksport perikanan Indonesia. Populasi teripang yang terancam di alam mendorong teripang harus diproduksi melalui pembenihan dan pendederan. Melalui pendederan diharapakan anakan teripang lebih kuat dan dapat bertahan hidup lebih baik ketika ditebar pada wadah pembesaran atau direstoking. Penelitian ini bertujuan memberikan informasi teknik pendederan teripang pasir yang lebih baik dan berkarakteristik daerah setempat guna menopang kegiatan pembenihan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei – Juli 2018 di Hatchery CV Pesona Manir Rat, Kabupaten Maluku Tenggara. Juvenil teripang pasir berusia 30 – 36 hari, dipelihara pada hapa berukuran 100 x 100 x 70 cm dengan kepadatan 200 individu / hapa. Pada satu bak pemeliharaan ditempatkan satu buah hapa. Selama pemeliharaan dilakukan pergantian air sebanyak 100 – 150 % dan diberikan satu liter Navicular sp. setiap hari. Aerasi dipasang sebanyak 4 titik pada setiap hapa dan dilakukan pengukuran kualitas air setiap hari. Diakhir penelitian, dilakukan pengukuran panjang tubuh dan perhitungan mortalitas. Hasilnya juvenile teripang yang dipelihara mengalami pertumbuhan mutlak berkisar antara 1,98 – 2,1 cm dengan rata-rata pertumbuhan mutlak sebesar 2,03 cm. Mortalitas rata-rata yang diperoleh sebesar 53, 83 % dengan kisaran 53 % - 55 %. Berdasarkan pembahasan disimpulkan bahwa teknik ini dapat diterapkan dalam pendederan teripang pasir.

IMPLEMENTATION OF SEA CUCUMBER CULTIVATION IN MADWAER VILLAGE, SOUTHEAST MALUKU. Sea cucumbers or Teripang (Holothuria sp) is a fishery commodity that has economic value. Sea cucumbers are often caught and sold by a group of people in Madwaer village, Southeast Maluku regency. The value of perceived benefits motivates them (partners) to try to cultivate sea cucumbers by utilizing the coastal conditions in their village. Limitations of knowledge about the technique of making cucumber cultivation container, technology of sea cucumber rearing and management of sea cucumber business is a problem faced by partners. This activity aims to help partners solve the problems faced. The method used in this activity is elucidation, training and monitoring. From the results of the activity is known that partners have had the knowledge and skills so that they are able to make a good cultivation cucumber container, able to cultivate sea cucumbers and partners are able to do the management of sea cucumber business well.

<p>There is significant increasing of seaweeds demand over the years that affect the development of seaweeds farming in Indonesia. <em>Gracilaria </em>sp. is one of the species that cultivated in Indonesia. There are some factors that affect the successful of seaweeds cultivation, one of them is cultivation depth. The research was carried out to study the effect of different depth on absolute growth and biomass of <em>Gracilaria </em>sp. <em>Gracilaria </em>sp. was cultivated under three different depths (30, 45 and 60 cm). The result shows that absolute growth and biomass were influenced by cultivation depth. The best treatment was cultivation at 30 cm of depth. Sea cucumbers are an essential fishery resource. Therefore, effective aquaculture methods should be developed to achieve their optimal production. Sea cucumbers are susceptible to various environmental factors, one of which is water quality. Monitoring water quality based on physical and chemical parameters should be useful to the rearing system in aquaculture. In practical use, farmers usually monitor only temperature, salinity, and pH, neglecting the essential role of chemical parameters. This review focuses on and urges the monitoring of physical and chemical parameters. We explored the water quality parameters that may be crucial to the sea cucumber rearing system, including temperature, salinity, pH, dissolved oxygen, ammonia, turbidity, particulate organic matter, total nitrogen, nitrate, nitrite, ammonium, silicate, and phosphate. Furthermore, this paper presents a practical way to monitor the aquaculture or rearing system of sea cucumbers. It is suggested that temperature and salinity are the crucial physical parameters, while the essential chemical parameters are phosphate, nitrate, and ammonia.

Vanamei prawns have fast growth and can reared in high density. it has an impact on water quality deterioration and disruption of survival rates and growth. Various ways to cope has been done, one of them is with probiotic bacteria. The new strain of D2.2 bacteria is thought to be effective of ammonia utilization. Probiotics with local bacteria Bacillus sp. D2.2 is cultured on molasses technical medium to be applied semi-mass. The purpose of this study is to asses the efectivity of Bacillus sp. D2.2 inthe molasses technical medium on water quality and growth performance of vaname prawns (Litopenaeus vannamei). The research was used complete randomized design (RAL) with four treatments, A (Control), B (Application of 5 ppm Bacillus sp. D2.2 cultured in molasses technical medium), C (Application of 10 ppm Bacillus sp. D2.2 cultured in molasses technical medium), D (Application of 15 ppm Bacillus sp. D2.2 cultured in molasses technical medium) were repeated three times each. The results showed no effect on water quality and shrimp survival rate, but absolute growth (W), daily growth rate (GR) and feed conversion ratio (FCR) showed that B and C treatment had better  than control. Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is one of the most popular fish species and has high economic value. Increased demand for this type of fish must be matched by cultivation efforts. Limited land for cultivation ponds, so it is necessary to look for alternatives, one of which is cultivation in seawater floating marine cages. This study aims to determine the manipulation process of freshwater tilapia into seawater, the rate of growth and survival, and analysis of its chemical composition. The research used was an experimental method. The results of measuring water quality including salinity increased by 3 ppt per day, temperatures ranged from 27-30 OC, DO was between 7.0-7.5 mg/L, pH between 7,2-7,6. The absolute weight and length were 408.5 g and 26 cm, respectively, the growth rate was 2.27%, and the survival rate was 85-90%. The chemical composition values ​​include moisture content of 71.59%, ash 1.54%, fat 4.74%, 21.3% protein, and 0.83% carbohydrates. The results showed that freshwater tilapia can be manipulated to live in seawater and have a good growth and survival rate and have a high chemical composition, especially protein and fat.

AbstrakIkan badut merupakan ikan hias air laut yang mempunyai nilai ekonomis tinggi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan September 2017 di Laboratorium Hatchery Pembenihan Program Studi Budidaya Perairan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Malikussaleh. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui warna wadah yang terbaik untuk percepatan pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup benih ikan badut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap non faktorial (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan dengan wadah warna biru, hijau, merah, dan kuning. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah pertumbuhan panjang dan bobot ikan, kelangsungan hidup, dan kualitas air. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penggunaan warna wadah biru memberi pengaruh yang sangat nyata terhadap pertambahan panjang dan kelangsungan hidup ikan badut. Sedangkan pertambahan bobot berbeda nyata. Adapun angka pertambahan panjang, bobot, dan presentase SR terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan A (biru) yaitu 0,19 cm, 0,08 gram dengan presentase kelangsungan hidup 95% ikan badut. Parameter kualitas air yang diukur selama penelitian sesuai dengan kehidupan ikan badut dengan kisaran Suhu 26-290C, Salinitas 30-34 ppt, pH 7-8, and DO 4-7 (mg/L).Kata kunci: ikan badut; kelangsungan hidup; pertumbuhan; warnaAbstractClown fish is a marine ornamental fish that has high economic value. The purpose of this research to determine the color container for growth and survival rate of clown fish. The method used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD). With 4 treatments and 3 replications with blue, green, red, and yellow containers. The parameters observed in this research were length growth and weight of fish, survival, and water quality. The results showed that the use of blue container color was very significantly affect on the length and survival of clown fish. While weight gain significantly different. The rate of increase length, weight, and survival rate percentage best found in treatment A (blue) 0.19 cm, 0.08 grams with survival rate percentage 95%. Water quality parameters during the research were in accordance with clown fish life with temperature range 26-29 0C, Salinity 30-34 ppt, pH 7-8, and DO 4-7 (mg/L).Keywords: clown fish; survival rate; growth; color

ABSTRAK Ekosistem terumbu karang Karimunjawa menyediakan habitat yang baik bagi kehidupan dan perkembangbiakan teripang. Di sisi lain,  peningkatan beban limbah organik baik bersumber dari daratan maupun dari lingkungan perairan itu sendiri diduga menyebabkan daya dukung untuk kehidupan teripang menurun. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, bagaimana kondisi lingkungan perairan ditinjau dari kesesuaian lingkungan perairan habitat teripang. Pengukuran data kualitas air diambil pada 5 stasiun pengamatan. Data arus berdasarkan  data pasang surut terendah, yang diperoleh dari pengukuran data pasang surut  stasiun LPWP Jepara periode 2010-2011, pengukuran data variabel kedalaman perairan (m), suhu (°C), salinitas (‰), dan pH secara in situ, serta  pengukuran kandungan oksigen terlarut (mg/l)  secara laboratoris. Analisis data tingkat kesesuaian lingkungan  teripang didasarkan atas beberapa kriteria penting yang harus dipenuhi, yaitu kondisi lingkungan yang sesuai dengan standar kriteria kesesuaian, meliputi kisaran dibawah baku mutu dengan skor (1), kisaran toleransi dengan skor (2), dan kisaran optimal dengan skor 3. Selanjutnya dilakukan pembobotan setiap variabel dalam 3 kelas bobot yang diukur berdasarkan tingkat pengaruh masing-masing variable. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan total  skor (Y) dari 6 variabel kualitas  perairan.diperoleh jumlah skor tertinggi  54 dan terendah 6, sedangkan berdasarkan nilai interval kelas kesesusian  (I) sebesar 16.  Hasil analisis skor per  kelas adalah (a) 39–54 = Sesuai (S1),  (b)  23–38 = Cukup Sesuai (S2), dan (c) 6–22 = Tidak Sesuai (N). Hasil analisis diperoleh informasi bahwa kondisi lingkungan perairan cukup sesuai bagi kehidupan teripang. Kata kunci: Kesesuaian, habitat, teripang ABSTRACT The Karimunjawa waters reef ecosystem provides a good habitat for the life and breeding of sea cucumbers. On the other hand, the increased burden of organic waste both from the mainland and from the water environment itself is thought to cause the carrying capacity for the life of sea cucumbers declined. Based on this, then how the condition of the aquatic environment in terms of the suitability of the marine environment habitat sea cucumbers.  Measurement of water quality data was taken at 5 observation stations. Current data based on the lowest tidal data, obtained from the measurement of the tidal data of LPWP station Jepara period 2010-2011. Measurement of water depth variable (m), temperature (°C), salinity (‰), and pH in situ, and dissolved oxygen content (mg/l) in laboratory. The data analysis of the suitability level of sea cucumber is based on several important criteria that must be fulfilled, that is environmental condition in accordance with standard of conformity criterion, covering range below standard quality with score (1), tolerance range with score (2), and optimal range with score 3, Then weighted each variable in 3 weight classes measured by the influence level of each variable, Based on the result of total score calculation (Y) from 6 water quality variables. Based on the result of total score (Y) of 6 water quality variables. Obtained by the highest score 54 and lowest 6, whereas based on the value of interval of suitability class (I) of 16. The result of the score analysis per class is (a) 39–54 = Suitable (S1), (b) 23–38 = quite suitable  (S2), and (c) 6–22 = Not Match (N). The result of the analysis obtained information that the condition of the aquatic environment is quite suitable for the life of sea cucumber. Keywords: Conformity, habitat, sea cucumber
