Technology-Assisted Teaching Aids in Teaching and Learning: Evidence from the Malaysian Tahfiz Ulul Albab Model (TMUA)

The use of state-of-the-art teaching aids in teaching and learning activities (T&L) had been proven in enhancing teachers’ teaching effectiveness in the classroom. This study aims to examine the level of technology usage among teachers and students in the Tahfiz Ulul Albab Model (TMUA) program as well as teachers' perception on technology usage among teachers in the TMUA program based on 21st Century In-Service Training (LADAP PAK21). A total of 30 teachers and 100 students were selected as respondents in this study. Data analysis was performed using Statistical For Social Science (SPSS) Version 22.0 software. The findings show that the level of technology-assisted teaching aids usage is moderate to high. However, there is no difference among teachers who follow LADAP PAK21 towards technology-assisted teaching aids usage. The findings of this study show that although teachers have a positive perception of the importance of u technology usage, the level of usage is still at a moderate level. This shows that the level of awareness and encouragement in the usage of technology-assisted teaching aids needs to be increased.

The characteristic of Arabic Language which is unique and different compared to other foreign languages, has become certain issue for academic society, especially with this actual condition of COVID-19, it gives impact to both teachers and students. In university level, more specifically, in order to maintain teaching – learning process to be held, various kind of media are used to support the teaching and learning activities. This research aims for exploring and describing Arabic language teaching – learning online activities in IAIN Palangka Raya using qualitative method and case study. Data collecting methods used in this research are observations, interview and documentation. Research result shows that Arabic language teaching – learning online activities in IAIN Palangka Raya adopting online technology with platforms which based on social media and e-learning application. Those platforms are categorized into three: 1) WhatsApp Group, used for intensive communications between teacher and students related to teaching – learning activities; 2) Google Classroom, used for collecting assignments; and 3) Zoom Cloud Meeting, used for audio-visual media for learning topics which need significant explanation. These medias are used after consideration on ease of accessibility, hardware compatibility, communication features, process and cost needed to use them. The findings of this research describe that Arabic language teaching – learning online activities in IAIN Palangka Raya collaborate those three aforementioned applications so that creativity, innovation and motivation are growing even during Covid-19 pandemic situation.

In the teaching and learning process, teachers are required to be able to carry out their role to the fullest as a motivator and initiator in an effort to maintain and at the same time increase the enthusiasm of students to learn. Especially in the Covid-19 pandemic situation which requires educational institutions to carry out online learning. This study aims to discuss the teacher's role as a motivator and the teacher's role as an initiator in improving the quality of student learning in online learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ma'arif Condro Jember. This research uses qualitative research methods and the type of research is a case study. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The validity of the data using source triangulation and technical triangulation. Meanwhile, data analysis uses data condensation, data presentation and verification/conclusion. The results of this study indicate: 1) The teacher's role as a motivator in improving the quality of learning in online learning, namely: providing opportunities for students to play an active role in learning, providing reinforcement, praise or verbal appreciation, teachers listening to students' concerns and wishes to bond. good relationship between teachers and students. 2) The role of the teacher as an initiator in improving the quality of learning in online learning, namely: utilizing information and communication technology such as Whatsapp, Facebook, Google Meet and Google Form. Keywords: Teacher Role; Quality of Learning; Online Learning Dalam proses belajar mengajar, guru dituntut untuk mampu melaksanakan perannya secara maksimal menjadi motivator dan inisiator dalam upaya menjaga dan sekaligus meningkatkan semangat belajar peserta didik. Terlebih dalam situasi pandemi Covid-19 yang menuntut lembaga pendidikan untuk melaksanakan pembelajaran secara Daring. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas tentang peran guru sebagai motivator dan peran guru sebagai inisiator dalam meningkatan kualitas belajar peserta didik pada pembelajaran daring di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ma’arif Condro Jember. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dan jenis penelitiannya adalah studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teknik. Sedangkan analisis data menggunakan kondensasi data, penyajian data dan verifikasi/kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: 1) Peran guru sebagai motivator dalam meningkatkan kualitas belajar pada pembelajaran daring yaitu: memberikan kesempatan kepada peserta didik untuk berperan aktif dalam pembelajaran, memberikan penguatan, pujian atau apresiasi secara verbal, guru mendengarkan keresahan dan keinginan peserta didik agar terjalin ikatan yang baik antara guru dan peserta didik. 2) Peran guru sebagai inisiator dalam meningkatkan kualitas belajar pada pembelajaran daring yaitu: memanfaatkan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi seperti Whatsapp, Facebook, Google Meet dan Google Form. This study aims to develop additional teaching materials in the form of e-Modul Bryophyta dengan Kajian Islam, as well as to determine the quality of the products developed based on the assessment of several validations, teachers, and students as respondents. The data collection instrument used a questionnaire. Descriptive qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The results of the research obtained indicate that the Bryophyta e-Module with Islamic Studies developed as a whole has the quality Very Fit for use in teaching and learning activities. With the percentage results from material experts of 89.2% with Very Feasible criteria, from media experts of 71.6% with Eligible criteria, from Islamic Religion experts of 82.6% with Very Appropriate criteria and an assessment of the teacher of 82.5% with criteria Very Eligible for use in teaching and learning activities. Meanwhile, the response of students obtained the overall percentage of small and large group tests of 85.2% with very attractive criteria. Thus, it can be concluded that e-Modul Bryophyta dengan Kajian Islam, which was developed with the Borg & Gall model, is feasible and very attractive to be used as teaching material for students in class X MIA in Ma, especially in Bryophyta lessons.

The purpose of this study is to examine several aspects, including: the history of the establishment of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Pandaan, learning strategies carried out in the midst of the covid 19 pandemic, learning methods, learning challenges, and effectiveness in learning at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Pandaan. The research process uses descriptive qualitative methods. in the research process using data collection techniques by means of observation, interviews, and photos when the research was conducted. This study aims to determine the learning strategy in SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Pandaan. The strategy used at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Pandaan in the midst of a pandemic is to use online learning strategies. Learning is carried out using zoom, google meet, wa, and youtube media, this is as an intermediary for learning in the midst of a pandemic, using these strategies can facilitate teaching and learning activities carried out by teachers and students online. SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Pandaan also experienced several challenges in carrying out learning in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic, one of which was that many students did not have the tools to do online learning such as cellphones, laptops, or computers, and some had problems such as having cellphones but many did not. have a quota or it is difficult to reach a signal when online learning is done. Although there are many challenges in carrying out learning activities in the midst of a pandemic like this, it does not eliminate the enthusiasm to keep learning even though you have to be at home online

Advances in communication technology affect all aspects including aspects of education. An educator is required to create active, effective and fun teaching and learning activities. Related to this, the learning of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) is generally still monotonous in using learning media so that students feel bored in learning PAI. PAI’s teacher at SMK Wahana Karya tries to make an innovation in Islamic Education learning, namely by using Android-based mobile learning. This is based on the background of students who on average already use Android in everyday life. So, this study describes android-based mobile learning as a learning medium for Islamic religious education at SMK Wahana Karya. This research uses qualitative methods, where the researcher makes direct observations and interviews. Sources of data used are from school archives, school websites, interviews with principals, Islamic education teachers, and students of SMK Wahana Karya. The results of this study are, although there are still some obstacles, namely in terms of signal and classroom atmosphere conditioning. However, apart from that the use of mobile learning is considered effective and attracts students in learning Islamic Education.

ABSTRAKDitengah merebah wabah Covid-19 ini,kegiatan belajar mengajar di sekolah sangat tidak efektif. Fasilitas internet yang dimiliki oleh sekolah belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal, karena penggunaannya masih terbatas pada kegiatan mencari sumber referensi dan penambahan bahan ajar.Padahal kehadiran internet memmiliki dampak positif yaitu lebih dimudahkannya proses belajar mengajar antara guru dan siswa. Penggunaan aplikasi multimedia interaktif online dapat mempermudah para siswa dapat mengakses secara online dari berbagai tempat. Sehingga dapat menjadi solusi untuk mengatasi kondisi siswa yang diliburkan karena kasus covid-19. Guru dan siswa masih bisa tetap melakukan pembelajaran dengan tetap stay at home untuk kebaikan dan kesehatan bersama. Dalam multimedia interaktif online (MI-O) ini terdapat tugas proyek. sehingga meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah, meningkatkan kecakapan kolaboratif, meningkatkan keterampilan mengelola sumber. Siswa dan guru tidak perlu hadir secara fisik di kelas (classroom meeting), karena siswa dapat mempelajari bahan ajar dan mengerjakan tugas-tugas pembelajaran serta ujian dengan cara mengakses jaringan komputer yang telah ditetapkan secara online. Pada Pembuatan MI-O ini berjalan sangat antusias karena banyak guru belum familiar mendengar istilah Adobe Animate CC dan Web Hosting SWF sehingga terbentuk komunitas belajar aktif untuk kegiatan pembelajaran. Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini dilakukan di MTs NW Putra Narmada Desa Lembuak Kecamatan Narmada Kabupaten Lombok Barat NTB. Kata kunci: belajar aktif; multimedia interaktif online; berbasis proyek ABSTRACTIn the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak, teaching and learning activities in schools are very ineffective. Internet facilities that are owned by schools have not been utilized optimally, because their use is still limited to finding reference sources and adding teaching materials. Even though the presence of the internet has a positive impact, namely making the teaching and learning process easier between teachers and students. The use of online interactive multimedia applications can make it easier for students to access online from various places. So that it can be a solution to overcome the conditions of students who were closed due to the Covid-19 case. Teachers and students can still learn by staying at home for the common good and health. In this online interactive multimedia (MI-O) there are project tasks. thus increasing problem-solving skills, increasing collaborative skills, improving resource management skills. Students and teachers do not need to be physically present in class (classroom meeting), because students can study teaching materials and do learning assignments and exams by accessing predefined computer networks online. The MI-O was very enthusiastic because many teachers were not familiar with the terms ADOBE ANIMATE CC and WEB HOTING SWF so that an active learning community was formed for learning activities. This community service activity was carried out at MTs NW Putra Narmada, Lembuak Village, Narmada District, West Lombok Regency, NTB. The benefit of implementing online learning methods is to make it easier for teachers and students in terms of learning activities. The analysis method used is literature study. design methods that do use the concept of software engineering.

This Research is a qualitative research that aims to determine the benefits of using E-Learning Madrasas as a medium of distance Learning when the Covid 19 pandemic in MAN Insan Scholar Kendari City. The results show that Madrasah E-learning is able to accommodate the needs of teachers and students in distance learning in the Covid 19 pandemic ranging from planning to evaluation, also facilitating the process of monitoring teacher performance in teaching and learning activities. Even Though there is no learning in the classroom as usual the teacher can still deliver learning material to students through the Madrasah E-Learning application. Students can also access learning material and still have an assessment of learning outcomes and end of semester assessment. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that Madrasah E-Learning can be a good medium for distance Learning. As for the obstacles that are still being experienced are Internet networks that have not been stable in certain areas in remote Indonesia.

The pandemic Covid-19, which requires everyone, including students to do activities at home, it is easier because of technological advances. The most influential technology in education today is the Internet. The internet allows teachers to provide learning materials without having to meet in person. Teachers can upload learning materials for later access by students. Several internet-based applications and sites are also commonly used by teachers and students to hold face-to-face classes via Whatsapp video calls, Google Clasroom, Zoom Meetings and other online media. Apart from teaching and learning activities, internet-based technology can also be used to support student productive activities. Due to this work from home policy, student activities such as organizations, committees, clubs and so on are hampered. However, by utilizing internet-based applications and sites such as Google Meet, Zoom, Skype and so on, learning activities in the form of meetings and group discussions can run more optimally. Working on group assignments can be easier by using Google Doc where multiple students can edit a document together directly.
