In the era fast growing technology it is necessary for all the educationist to keep more focus on the students because they are the backbones of our nation. In this regard even though there are many systems that make the notation and analysis of students as the one that contribute to the student. This paper presents a consequent approach to measure the problem solving skills which imparts few of life skills, technical skills and intelligent skills which are basically needed in this generation to seek jobs. There must be a system to calculate the intellectual abilities of a student because intellectuality shows a rapid transformation on the evolution of mind sets of students. This paper represents an elaborative approach to estimate the levels of students and categorize them based on their mind sets. It is necessary for all the students in order to acquire a skill set and in order to sustain the skill their intellectuality matters

Industrial Revolution 4.0 has been one of the most popular topics discussed among engineers. In the near future the non-technical skills will be equally or more important than technical skills. Moreover, IR4.0 will incur job displacement and majority of the task will be taken over by robots and Artificial Intelligent (Tapsir, S.H. and Puteh, M., 2018. Framing Malaysian Higher Education 4.0). Therefore, priority will be given to non-technical skills which cannot be done completely by the robots and Artificial Intelligent at the moment. NACE Job Outlook 2019 (To, F., et al., 2019. Job Outlook 2019, (November 2018)) shows Problem Solving Skills is the second most important skill sought by employers; Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC), 8-Disciplinary and Plan- Do-Check-Act (PDCA) are the very common systematic approaches used by the industries to solve the problem arose in the industrial environment. The studies show that the problems cannot be solved by using the same kind of thinking approach applied at the moment it was created. Therefore, a systematic analytical skill is required to handle the engineering related problems happening at manufacturing environment or engineering workplace. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the existing literature about Problem Solving skills for graduate engineers through a systematic literature review. This paper analyses literature through electronic databases mainly from Scopus and Web of Science. This paper summarizes types of problem-solving skills applied in the engineering field as of now. Based on that, engineers can differentiate and understand the approach of the problemsolving skills in the industrial environment to improve the failures and increase productivity.

Life skills are basically the psychosocial skills which include personal, social, interpersonal, cognitive and affective components on an individual. For a better life one needs to have better decision making and problem solving skills. If any head or leader posses these characteristics then his/her tasks of making his/her leadership effective also becomes easy. Present study aims to see the impact of life skills sessions on problem solving and decision making attitude of school level leaders. For this purpose, 150 students were selected from 10 different schools. The age group ranged between 16-18 years. It is a pre and post test study. After taking the pre-test of the students (head/leaders) on the basis life-skills questionnaire by NCERT, the students were provided with 10 life-skills sessions (5 on problem solving and 5 on decision making, one session per day). After the sessions, the same questionnaire was administered on the students. On the basis of students’ response, t-test was applied and results have showed a significant enhancement in the skills of decision making and problem solving in the leaders.Int. J. Soc. Sci. Manage. Aim. In Italy, a handbook has been developed based on the principles of cooperative learning, life skills, self-effectiveness, and problem-solving at high school level. Early studies have shown the handbook’s effectiveness. It has been hypothesized that the revised handbook could be more effective in middle schools. Method. The study design is a “pre- and posttest” that compares the results obtained from 91 students of the high schools with those of the 38 students from middle schools. The assessment was made through “self-reporting” questionnaires of (a) learning skills including problem-solving and (b) perceived self-efficacy in managing emotions, dysfunctional beliefs, and unhealthy behaviours (i.e., drinking/smoking). Results. Significant improvements were observed in both groups with the exceptions of perceived self-efficacy in managing emotions. The improvement of dysfunctional beliefs and the learning of problem-solving skills were better in middle schools. Conclusion. The results confirm the authors’ hypothesis that the use of this approach is much more promising in middle school.

This research was based on the concern that students didn’t see the need for the acquisition of science skills and knowledge perceived as important in relation to different society issues and the world of work. The aim was to determine gymnasium students perceived self-efficacy towards working life skills as well as science curriculum, content-related topics. The sample was composed of grade 12 (N=1375) 18-19-year-old students. Data were obtained using a 4-point Likert scale questionnaire seeking to determine students’ perceived self-efficacy towards working life skills and topics in the science curriculum linked to disciplinary core ideas. In general, students perceived their self-efficacy to be above average towards most needed working life skills. However, it was much lower in areas related to problem-solving skills and understanding the nature of science. Results also indicated that the self-efficacy associated with purely Physics curriculum-related topics stood out as being much lower than for the other school science subject areas. Findings suggested there was a need to re-thinking the way science content was presented to students and to consider whether and how this could be restructured around core ideas in science in order to promote the development of problem-solving skills as an important aspect in enhancing working life skills. Unemployment has been an issue yet unresolved in the minds of every citizen. However, the hope is that the Nigerian government should resolve it, but this plight still looms and stirs on the face of all. This however is the plight in sight and therefore this study investigated employers’ identification of skills needed by technical and vocational education (TVE) graduates for industrial work effectiveness. The study determined (a) Information Communication Technology (ICT) skills needed by TVE graduates as identified by employers with 0-10 years of work experience, (b) Problem-Solving skills needed by TVE graduates as identified by employers with 0-10 years of work experience, (c) Technical Skills needed by TVE graduates as identified by employers with 0-10 years of work experience. Three research questions and three null hypotheses guided the study. The study adopted the descriptive survey design, with a population of 260 managers. Data collected were analyzed using arithmetic mean and standard deviation for research questions and z-test to test the hypothesis. The study revealed that, problem solving skills, technical skills and information and communication technology (ICT) skills are highly needed by TVE graduates for improved industrial work effectiveness. Findings of the study revealed that in terms of information and communication technology skills and problem solving skills, there was no significant difference in the mean ratings of employers. The study also revealed that employers of 0-10years of operation differed significantly in their mean ratings on technical skills needed by TVE graduates for industrial work effectiveness. Based on the findings, the researchers recommends that every effort should be made to ensure that machinery to enhance the acquisition of employability skills by TVE scholars be put in place during their days in school. There should be re-training scheme arranged by Nigerian government for TVE graduates after school.

Recently, it is more demanding to enter job market since current employers hire staff with some life skills such as leadership, communication skills, time management, problem solving skills, and teamwork. The current study aimed to identify the relationship between life skills program, student's personal efficacy and competencies. Moreover, this study investigated eight students’ perceptions of their personal efficacy after understanding life skills program.  This study employs a qualitative research approach using an in-depth interview and self-reporting of the life skills module. The participants were randomly selected among freshman undergraduate students who have passed the life skill modules at Taylor’s University, Malaysia. This study aimed to identify students’ perceptions, competencies after completing life skills modules. It also elaborates on how life skills considered as a technical requirement for hard skills and employees’ future. The results of thematic analysis indicated that embedding the life-skills program in the university curriculum plays a key role in shaping students' personal and social competencies. This finding has important implications for educators and educational policy makers to integrate students’ life skills into curriculum so as to influence students’ professional and interpersonal skills such as team working, communication, leadership, time management, decision making and problem-solving.

Allusions as a literary device are included in a text to express meanings that go beyond the mere words the author uses and depend to a large extent on familiarity to be comprehended. Thus, they carry meaning in the culture in which they arise while this meaning is missed in another culture. The translation of allusions, therefore, which includes two language cultures, requires enormous problem-solving skills and adoption of strategies allowing the translator to evoke more or less the same reaction as that of the source language audience (Leppihalme, 1997). This study explores the adoption of strategies by Pasargadi (1996) in translating allusions rooted in mythology and the Bible in three Shakespearean tragedies, i.e. Hamlet, Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet based on the classification suggested by Ruokonen (2010). The analysis of the results revealed that the translator made more frequent use of modifying than retentive strategies, 52.69% and 47.31% respectively. Further investigation of the translation strategies employed by the translator sheds greater light on the reliability of the classification by Ruokonen (2010) and results in a better grasp of how to guarantee as close an effect on the target text audience as the one created on the source text audience.

The study aimed to reveal the degree of horizontal integration in life skills in the second grade curriculum in Jordan. To achieve the objective of the study، the researcher used the analytical descriptive method.The study sample included the Arabic and Islamic education books and social and national education. The results of the study indicated that manual in its first and second section. The life skills to be included in the sample study books included (51) skills divided into five basic skills: creative thinking skills، problem solving، the communication، dealing with others، decision making. Results also included a harezontal integration in the skills of life between the Arabic language and Islamic educationby (38.3%) ، which is high according to the criterion of the study. There is also a horizontal integration in life skills between the Arabic language book and the social and national education guide by (37.7%)، High percentage، and finally the existence of horizontal integration is very weak in the skills of life between the book of Islamic based on education and the huide of social and national education by (24%). The study came out with several recommendation، the most important of which are: Enrichment of the curriculum on the subject of life skills، and their inclusion in an integrative manner baser on a standard of integration developed by the directorate of curriculum. And taking into account problem solving skills during the construction and design of the curriculum.

The design of a teaching model must qualify to be applicable or practical and effective, therefore the research aimed to analyze the practicality and effectiveness of the IBMR (Investigation-Based Multiple Representation) teaching model in improving physics problems solving skills of bachelor programs’ students. The research was conducted by applying the one-group pre-test and post-test pre-experimental design to 186 students of study program of physics education, mathematics education, and mechanical engineering. The practicality of the model is assessed using an observation sheet and the effectiveness is determined based on pre-test and post-test physics problem solving skills. The collected data were analyzed using the calculation of average scores of the feasibility of each phase of the IBMR, t-test, and n-gain. The results show that each phase of the IBMR teaching model can be implemented by a lecturer with good and reliable categories, and relevant student activities, so that the IBMR teaching model is practicality qualified. It is also effective shown by: there are increasing score of physics problem solving skills at  = 5%, average n-gain with moderate categorized and not different or consistent for each pair of groups, and good-categorized students’ responses on each component of teaching. BACKGROUND Team idea mapping (TIM) method is a type of brain storming technique for group deliberation in a non judgmental and friendly environment. It encourages participation by all the members, thereby instilling confidence. Such deliberations can enhance problem solving skills of postgraduate (PG) students. OBJECTIVE The present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of TIM sessions on the problem solving skills of PG students of Biochemistry, as deduced from retro-pre self-efficacy questionnaire. METHODS The study was conducted enrolling students pursuing PG-MD course in Medical Biochemistry in a premier medical college. First TIM session was preceded by sensitization of PG students and departmental faculty. In total, four TIM sessions were conducted. Retro-pre self efficacy questionnaire was administered 3 months after the last session. Feedback from the students was collected immediately after last session and satisfaction index was also calculated. RESULTS The satisfaction index was highest (100) for items stating that TIM sessions promoted interactivity and participatory behavior and lowest (78) for item stating that TIM sessions promoted reflective behavior respectively. The students expressed enhanced self-efficacy in understanding Biochemistry concepts, clinical application of Biochemistry, problem solving skills in Biochemistry, interpreting laboratory reports, participation in group works and clarifying problems with peers and seniors. However, the sessions were not as effective in instilling technical skills like trouble shooting for analyzer breakdowns. CONCLUSIONS TIM is an effective tool for instilling problem solving skills in medical PG students, additionally fortifying their attitude to work in groups. CLINICALTRIAL NA
