Transparent Concrete is a new type of Concrete used widely in the construction industry. It has good properties, and it gives a good appearance and architectural design. In this one of the more critical properties is light transmission. So, by using this application, Concrete is very famous. There are many advantages to using LTC, and compared to regular conventional Concrete, it has some special properties. The special property of lightning occurs due to the presence of optical fibers. This paper author mainly explains the importance and uses, and advantages of Transparent Concrete and explained the Materials used for LTC. Sustainability is a key in modern construction scenario. Even when the construction industry underwent a revolution in terms of equipment and materials used, the resultant impact on environment skyrocketed. This leads to the adoption of more sustainable approaches in construction like using coconut byproducts such as coconut fibre and shell as additives in concrete. Coconut fibre is abundantly available material which makes it a viable reinforcement material in concrete and the same goes for coconut shell which can be used as a partial replacement for conventional aggregate. This can further act as a new source of income for the coconut producers who get the benefit of the new demand generated by the construction industry. It is also an effective method of disposal of coconut husks and shells and thus reduces their negative impact on the environment. This project aims at studying the variation of strength of coconut fibre reinforced concrete (CFRC) with different percentages of coconut fibre (0.5%, 1%,1.5% and 2% by weight of cement), coconut shell aggregate concrete by replacing coarse aggregate with different percentages of coconut shell ( 15%, 30% and 45%) compared with that of conventional concrete. The optimum percentage of both fibres to be added and coconut shell to be used is determined by analyzing the strength aspects such as flexural, compressive and tensile strength. This project also includes the investigation on the mechanical properties of CFRC with coconut shell aggregate by incorporating coconut fibre and shell together in concrete matrix.

Abstract The recent increase in the construction industry has transformed concrete into an ideal choice to recycle a number of residues formerly discarded into the environment. Among various products, porcelain tile polishing, limestone and tire rubber residues are potential candidates to replace the fine aggregate of conventional mixtures. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of the addition of varying contents of these residues in lightweight concrete where expanded clay replaced gravel. To that end, slump, compressive strength, density, void ratio, porosity and absorption tests were carried out. The densities of all concrete formulations studied were 10% lower to that of lightweight concrete (<1.850 kg/m³). Nevertheless, mixes containing 10 to 15% of combined residues reduced absorption, void ratio and porosity, at least 17% lower compared to conventional concrete. The strength of such formulations reached 27 MPa at 28 days with consistency of 9 to 12 cm, indicating adequate consistency and increased strength. In addition, the combination of low porosity, absorption and voids suggested improved durability.

BIM technology used more widely in construction industry in developed countries in Europe and the United States, the integration of building information modeling (BIM) in the domestic large-scale propulsion was still difficult, and further the trend of widening the gap with foreign advanced level. In order to identify problems and solve the current status quo, and cut into the integrated information from project management point of view of China's architectural design, and analysis the status quo of BIM technology in our project management and developmental disabilities, and BIM-based technology and related parties mutual relations, to explain the development prospects of its application in China.

Cities have different architectural features in terms of cultural, historical, geographical and social life. It is seen that each city has a unique identity over time. The reason for this is that the people living in the city have lifestyle, social behaviors and cultural values. Many cities have architectural symbols that symbolize that city. Functional use should be prioritized in the design phase of urban furniture, aesthetics is of course an important detail, but in order for the community to be together in the city, urban furniture should be ergonomic and functionality within certain standards in terms of different physical features. The climatic conditions of that city should be taken into consideration in the selection of materials for urban furniture. Lighting elements, plant elements, recreational elements, signs and information signs, floor coverings, artistic objects, including waste bins should be considered together. Urban furniture should complement each other with a holistic approach. It is seen that the materials used in the design have positive and negative effects on people psychologically. Wooden designs using natural materials give the feeling of calmness and rest. It is seen that concrete and iron materials give a sense of strength. In the use of artificial materials, there is a feeling of anxiety. The phenomenon of color in designed urban furniture causes a sense of dynamism or calmness. Remarkable designs are often made for symbolic purposes. It is an important detail for urban furniture that it is sometimes criticized and attracted attention instead of being liked.

This chapter will study the proliferation of architectural follies that use recycled or recyclable materials in a move to promote better practices in waste and recycling. Given the slow uptake of this impetus in the architectural world proper, the text will investigate the obstacles in engaging in materially sustainable practices in the construction industry as well as case studies for rethinking currently problematic materials. However, while some improvements have been made in the construction industry's use of recycled materials, the industry often dismisses the afterlife of materials used throughout the process. What are the motivations of the industry and how can we incentivize circular thinking in an industry that produces hundreds of millions of tons of waste per year in the US?

For years, scientists have been looking for different techniques to make glasses perfect: fully amorphous and ideally homogeneous. Meanwhile, recent advances in the development of particle-containing glasses (PCG), defined in this paper as glass-ceramics, glasses doped with metallic nanoparticles, and phase-separated glasses show that these “imperfect” glasses can result in better optical materials if particles of desired chemistry, size, and shape are present in the glass. It has been shown that PCGs can be used for the fabrication of nanostructured fibers—a novel class of media for fiber optics. These unique optical fibers are able to outperform their traditional glass counterparts in terms of available emission spectral range, quantum efficiency, non-linear properties, fabricated sensors sensitivity, and other parameters. Being rather special, nanostructured fibers require new, unconventional solutions on the materials used, fabrication, and characterization techniques, limiting the use of these novel materials. This work overviews practical aspects and progress in the fabrication and characterization methods of the particle-containing glasses with particular attention to nanostructured fibers made of these materials. A review of the recent achievements shows that current technologies allow producing high-optical quality PCG-fibers of different types, and the unique optical properties of these nanostructured fibers make them prospective for applications in lasers, optical communications, medicine, lighting, and other areas of science and industry.

IGCT is a kind of new type power electronic device which developed from GTO and IGBT . In this paper, Author based on analysis of the internal structure of GTO, shows how GTO development IGCT through technical methods.Through simulation of its off and on performance, the work curve and comparing results of the two devices are given. Then on two components of the inverter circuits are analyzed and compared. Thinking in large power AC drive locomotive, IGCT inverter is greatly simplifier than GTO inverter circuit, and superior performance,it will become the main converter for AC driving locomotive.
