This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of Youtube videos on listening understanding for Basic Listening subject at 1st semester of English Department. YouTube can be a learning tool and media that can meet the demands of student needs. There are many types of videos with various kinds of topics that are unique, interesting and fun to enjoy and which can be used in class lessons.This type of research is a quasi experiment with experimental research design Pre-test and Post-test Control group. This research was conducted at the English Department of FBS Unima Tondano. The study population was all 1st semester totaling 250 students. Sampling uses random sampling. From the results of the calculation shows the average value of the experimental class of 69.032 then to 80.403. This means that in the experimental class there was an increase of 11.37. For the control group at pretest it was 69.141 and at the post-test it was 73.828. It means an increase of 4.69. Although both classes both experienced an increase in average, but the increase in the average post-test in the experimental class was greater than the control class post-test and the weight of effectiveness was 9.5%. The conclusion is that the value of listening comprehension in Basic Listening subjects is higher than those who use YouTube videos compared to using conventional media. So that it can be said that there is a significant difference in listening comprehension of English Educator Teaching students between those taught with video media and those taught using conventional media. Abstrak Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya teknik ketepatan shooting. Bertujuan untuk menganalisa:(1)Penerapan pelatihan permainan pesta passing terhadap ketepatan shooting pada SSB Ganesha United Singaraja,(2)Penerapan pelatihan permainan empat penembak terhadap ketepatan shooting pada SSB Ganesha United Singaraja,(3)Perbedaan penerapan pelatihan permainan pesta passing dan permainan empat penembak terhadap ketepatan shooting pada SSB Ganesha United Singaraja. Jenis penelitian yaituPenelitian eksperimen. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan tes dan pengukuran. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu ketepatan shooting di permainan sepak bola. Análisis data yang digunakan statistik inferensial (uji-t). Hasil penelitian ini yaitupre-test kelompok control mean 7,93 median 8,00 modus 6. Post-test kelompok control mean 10,73 median 11modus 13. Gain kelompok control mean 0,2160 median 0,2300modus 0,20. Kelompok pesta passing pre-testrata-rata 8,07 median 8,00 modus 9 danpost-test mean 16,20 median 16,00modus 15. Gain skor metode pesta passing mean 0,6293 median 0,6400 modus 0,64. Kelompok metode empat penembakpre-test mean 7,93 median 8,00 modus 8. Skor post-test mean 13,07 median 14,00 modus 15.Rata-rata nilai tertinggi yaitu metode pesta passing, nilai terendah yaitu kelompok control. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, dan pembahasan disimpulkan sebagai berikut:(1)Metode pelatihan pesta passing berpengaruh terhadap ketepatan shooting pada SSB Ganesha United tahun 2017 sebesar 7,5%. (2)Metode pelatihan empat penembak berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan ketepatan shooting pada SSB Ganesha United tahun 2017 sebesar 5,17%. (3)Terdapat perbedaan pengaruh yang signifikansi antara metode pelatihan pesta passing dan metode pelatihan empat penembak terhadap ketepatan shooting pada SSB Ganesha United tahun 2017 dengan selisih 2,33% dimana metode pelatihan pesta passing yang berpengaruh terhadap ketepatan shooting. Kata Kunci : pelatihan pesta passing, empat penembak, ketepatan shooting This research is motivated by the low precision shooting technique. Aimed to analysis: (1) Implementation of passing party game training on the accuracy of shooting on SSB Ganesha United Singaraja, (2) Application of four shooter game training on the precision of shooting on SSB Ganesha United Singaraja, (3) Different application of game passing game training and game four shooter against the precision of shooting on SSB Ganesha United Singaraja. The type of research is experimental research. The data were collected using tests and measurements. The instrument used is the precision of shooting in the game of football. Analysis of data used inferential statistics (t-test). The results of this study are pre-test control group mean 7.93 median 8.00 mode 6. Post-test control group mean 10.73 median 11 mode 13. Gain control group mean 0.2160 median 0.2300 mode 0.20. Group party passing pre-test average 8.07 median 8.00 mode 9 and post-test mean 16.20 median 16.00 mode 15. Gain score method of passing mean 0.6293 median 0.6400 mode 0.64 . Group method of four pre-test shooters mean 7.93 median 8.00 mode 8. The post-test score mean 13.07 median 14.00 mode 15. The highest average value is the party passing method, the lowest value is the control group. Based on the result of data analysis, and the discussion is summarized as follows: (1) The method of passing party training has an effect on the precision of shooting on SSB Ganesha United 2017 by 7.5%. (2) The training method of four shooters has an effect on the increase of shooting accuracy on SSB Ganesha United 2017 by 5.17%. (3) There is a significant difference of influence between passing party training method and training method of four shooters to the accuracy of shooting at SSB Ganesha United 2017 with the difference of 2.33% where the method of passing party trainer affecting the accuracy of shooting.keyword : party passing training, four shooters, shooting precision

The objectives of this study were to find out whether or not there was significant improvement in writing and speaking achievements of the eighth grade students of SMPN1 Jarai after they were taught by using Sociogram, to find out whether or not there was significant improvement in each aspect of writing and speaking achievements of the eighth grade students of SMPN1 Jarai after they were taught by using Sociogram, to find out whether or not there was significant difference in writing and speaking achievements between the eighth grade students of SMP 1 Jarai who were taught by using Sociogram and those who were not, and to find out the perception of the eighth grade students of SMPN 1 Jarai after they were taught by using Socoiogram. In this paper, an experimental research method with pre and post test control group design was used with 70 students as the sample divided into two groups, experimental and control group. However, only the students of the experimental group were taught by using Sociogram. The obtained data were analyzed by using t-test. The students were given questionnaire to know their perceptions. The result showed that there was a significant difference in both students? writing and speaking achievements after they were tought by using Sociogram. Furthermore, it was found that there was a significant difference in students? writing and speaking achievement between the experimental and control groups. In conclusion, Sociogram improves the students? writing and speaking achievements.

Background: Post tonsillectomy pain is one of the surgery side effects that most disturbing for patient’s comfort and will cause dysphagia, low intake, dehydration, secondary infection and bleeding. Ketamine is an anesthetic drug that has strong analgesic effect and easily available in any hospital at relatively cheap price. Objective: To find out the effect of local ketamine infiltration on the post tonsillectomy pain scale. Method: An experimental study during tonsillectomy with a Post Test Control Group on 12 samples without local infiltration of ketamine and 12 samples with local infiltration of ketamine in peritonsillar pillar. The pain was assessed 2 hours and 24 hours post extubation with pain Visual Analog Scale (VAS). Result: The VAS value from patients who were given local infiltration of ketamine in peritonsillar pillar were lower (5.83 ± 0.72 at 2 hours and 2.83 ± 0.58 at 24 hours post extubation) compared to patients without ketamine infiltration (7.83 ± 0.58 at 2 hours and 3.58 ± 0.51 at 24 hours post extubation). The result showed statistically significant difference (p <0.05) at 2 hours and 24 hours post extubation. Conclusion: The VAS score of the ketamine infiltration group is lower at 2 hours and 24 hours post extubation than the group without ketamine infiltration, showing there was a noticeable effect of local ketamine infiltration on the post tonsillectomy pain scale.Keywords : post tonsillectomy pain, ketamine, local infiltration, visual analog scale ABSTRAKLatar belakang: Nyeri pascatonsilektomi adalah salah satu efek samping operasi yang sangat mengganggu kenyamanan pasien, dan dapat menyebabkan gangguan menelan, kurangnya asupan nutrisi, dehidrasi, infeksi sekunder dan perdarahan. Ketamin merupakan obat anestesi yang memiliki efek analgetik yang kuat dan mudah didapatkan di semua tipe rumah sakit dengan harga yang relatif murah. Tujuan: Mengetahui efek pemberian infiltrasi lokal ketamin terhadap skala nyeri pascatonsilektomi. Metode: Penelitian eksperimental dengan desain Post Test Control Group pada 12 sampel tanpa pemberian infiltrasi lokal ketamin dan 12 sampel dengan pemberian infiltrasi lokal ketamin di pilar peritonsil saat tonsilektomi. Dilakukan penilaian nyeri 2 jam dan 24 jam pascaekstubasi menggunakan skala nyeri Visual Analog Scale (VAS). Hasil: Nilai VAS pasien yang diberi infiltrasi lokal ketamin di pilar peritonsil lebih rendah (5,83±0,72 pada 2 jam dan 2,83 ± 0,58 pada 24 jam pascaekstubasi) dibanding tanpa diberi infiltrasi lokal ketamine (7,83 ± 0,58 pada 2 jam dan 3,58± 0,51 pada 24 jam pascaekstubasi), dan bermakna secara statistik (p<0,05) pada kedua penilaian. Kesimpulan: Terdapat efek nyata infiltrasi lokal ketamin terhadap skala nyeri pascatonsilektomi, dimana nilai VAS kelompok yang diberi infiltrasi ketamin lebih rendah, baik pada 2 jam ataupun 24 jam pascaekstubasi dibanding kelompok yang tidak diberi infiltrasi ketamin.

It is important to optimize working memory because it transforms, synergizes and constantly updates new and old information. One way to optimize working memory is to listen to Murottal Al-Qur'an, because it has a harmonious tone which can stabilize the mind to properly process the information. This study aims to determine the effect of listening to the Al-Quran murottal on working memory. The research subjects were 24 students of Psikologi 2017, grouped equally in the control and experimental groups. An experimental intervention was administered for 15 consecutive days lasting 15 minutes and 52 seconds. Measurements in working memory use Operation Span Task, Reading Span Task and Symmetry Span Task. The design of the study used a pre-test post-test control group and the data were analyzed by t-test. The results showed a significant difference between the control group and the experimental group on the symmetry span task subtest (p = 0.044, p <0.05).

This research aims at comparing the changes in factual, conceptual, and procedural knowledge of heat transfer in learning science using YouTube videos accompanied by discovery learning among fifth graders. A pre-and post-test experimental design was conducted by two different groups. One of the groups was randomly assigned to conduct discovery learning and YouTube videos (n = 21) and the others were to conduct discovery learning and hands-on activities (n = 21). Students in the experimental group used YouTube videos to do the assignments, whereas those in the control group used hands-on activities. Before conducting the treatment, all the students carried out the pre-test. Pre-test analyses showed that there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of factual, conceptual, and procedural knowledge of heat transfer. The post-test was conducted by students in two groups after completing four weeks throughout the fall semester of the 2018-2019 Academic Year. The research results revealed that both groups showed various effects on the acquisition of factual, conceptual, and procedural knowledge. Well-selected and related video material could enhance student knowledge related to the concept of heat transfer.

AbstractThe study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of jasmine oil massage on labour pain during first stage of labour among 40 primigravida women. The study design adopted was true experimental approach with pre-test - post-test control group design. The demographic Proforma were collected from the women by interview and Visual analogue scale was used to measure the level of labour pain in both the groups. Data obtained in these areas were analysed by descriptive and inferential statistics. A significant difference was found in the experimental group(tcal 9.869, p<0.05). A significant difference was found between experimental group and control group. cal The pre-test ('tcal' 0.36, p>0.05) and the post-test (tcal 11.75, p<0.05). No significant association was found between the level of labour cal cal pain and demographic variables in the experimental group. In this study Jasmine oil massage proved to reduce first stage labour pain.

In this research, the effects of STEM (Science-Technology-Mathematics-Engineering) activities on academic achievement of prospective teachers were researched, their opinions on STEM activities were sought. The research was based on a semi-experimental model with pre-test and post-test control group. During the application phase, the topic of Work-Energy subject was taught through STEM based 5E model in the experimental group, while in the control group, the lessons were conducted using traditional teacher centred teaching. The research group is comprised of second-year students in Elementary Mathematics Education taking Physics I course at the Dokuz Eylul University in Turkey. A statistically significant difference was found in favour of the experimental group in terms of prospective teachers’ academic achievement. In addition, the positive opinions of the prospective teachers from the experimental group on STEM activities were that STEM activities included encouraging group work, assisting students to produce original work, enabling them to do research, and ensuring that the information learned is permanent. The negative opinions of them on STEM activities were insufficient time for the application, the dominance of some students during the group work, and difficulties with noise levels in class.

This investigation ascertained the effect of modular instruction on the performance in Biology of freshmen fishery students at the Carlos Hilado Memorial State College (CHMSC) - College of Fisheries during the second semester of the school year 2009-2010. Experimental research using the pre - test, post - test control group design was employed to achieve the objectives of the study. Participants were grouped into the experimental and the control groups. The experimental group was exposed to modular instruction while the control group was exposed to lecture-discussion approach. The pre-test performances of both experimental and control groups were fair. The post-test performance of the experimental group taught by modular instruction was superior while that of the control group taught by lecture-discussion was very good. A significant difference was found between the pre - test of the modular and lecture-discussion groups in favor of the latter group. A significant difference was found between the post - test results of the control group in favor of the experimental group. Significant differences were found between the pre - tests and post -tests of the experimental and control groups hence, modular instruction was better than the lecture -discussion approach in effecting students’ performance in Biology.  Keywords - Modular Instruction, Students’ Performance, Pretest, Post-test, Control group, Experimental Group, Lecture-discussion

This research is concerned with The Effect of Outdoor Classroom Activity to the Writing Skill for student’s English department Universitas of Dharmas Indonesia. The objective of this research is to find out whether there is a significant difference in teaching writing skills between the students who are taught by using outdoor classroom activity and those who are not taught by using outdoor classroom activity. The implement of outdoor classroom activity in teaching learning process especially in writing skills can be assumed students' knowledge through the solid situation such as caring students outdoor the classroom so that the students can analyze their minds through what they observe and examine precisely. Hence, this research used an experimental research that was taken at first semester students' English Department. The experimental research involved two classes of students. The sample of this research was taken randomly. Both classes were provide pre-test and post-test. Next, the students of the group were learned by proving outdoor classroom activity at the same time the control group is learned beyond outdoor classroom activity. The occur of this research, as chases: The analysis occur of the experimental class offers that the mean count of the pre-test is 45.47 and the means count of the post-test is 71.82. It offers that the experimental class can improve student writing skill in learning process.

This research is based on the study which is attempted to examine the use of PACA reading strategies to promote students’ teaching strategies in TEFL 1 class. The objectives of this study are (1) To find out the students’ teaching strategies in TEFL I class before using PACA reading strategies, (2) To find out the significant difference between the students who use PACA reading strategies and those who do not use PACA reading strategies in their capability of teaching strategies in TEFL I class. The population of this study is the fifth semester students of English Department in PGRI University of Semarang. There are six classes of TEFL I class  in English Department and two classes are taken as the sample of the study. The classes are 5G and 5H. They are divided into the experimental class (5G) and the control group (5H). The result of the study shows that the students in the experimental class which were taught by using the technique of PACA Reading strategies to promote their teaching strategies had better achievement than the students in the control group which were taught without using the technique of PACA reading strategies. The average score of the pre-test of the experimental class was 76.72 and the control class was 72.85. The average score of the experimental class was 81.98 and the control class was 72.85. The pre-test and the post-test score then were calculated to get the t-test to know whether there was significant difference between the experimental class and the control class. The t-test was 0.47 and the t-table was 0.213. Then the t-test and t-table were compared. The data shows that the t-test was higher than the t-table. It means that there was significant difference between the experimental class and the control class.
