This research was conducted with a descriptive-qualitative approach with a case study as the research design. Data was collected by conducting interviews via Google Form with open-ended questions, the number of students who were used as respondents was 30 students from the Department of English Education. This study aims to examine the assessment process in the summary of assignments for the Seminar Proposal course for the English Education Department. This rapidly growing world of technology also affects aspects of education, education can be run online without the need for face-to-face meetings. Especially at this time where the world is being hit by the Covid-19 virus which increasingly requires people to stay at home. Learning is done entirely at home by relying on online learning. Even so, teachers still need to pay attention to choosing the right assessment for students in order to produce a positive washback effect from each given task. The results of this study indicate that the assignment has a positive washback effect because it is considered capable of improving students' English skills and abilities.

The reign of Richard II. is a landmark in the political and constitutional history of England, and in the history of her church and people. At home it was an era of corrupt party politics which led to the crisis of 1399; abroad, there was a lull in the great French war; and already the victories of Edward III. and the Black Prince had initiated the course of events which were to make England an insular power, and her government a limited monarchy. Social and religious discontent joined hands in Wat Tyler's revolt, when the causes of Labour and Nonconformity made their first loud claim to the right of existence in England. In the following pages, however, we are concerned less with the history of the reign as a whole, than with the interesting personality of the boy-King. King and kingdom were closely bound up with one another in the Plantagenet epoch; and the unequal and ill-regulated character of Richard II. has left no uncertain impress upon the events of his reign. And here the historical student is brought face to face with the unsatisfactory condition of the original authorities. The whole reign abounds in political mysteries, and the figure of the young King is shrouded in obscurity.

The vocabulary in the texts is the aspect that needs to identify. It is claimedthat the condition of the words in a text has a great influence to readers' comprehension. It is also commonly believed that comprehension depends on the extent that the words in a text are familiar to the readers. This case study was carried out in the English Education Department of University of Malang. The aim of the study is to identify and describe the vocabulary in the text and to seek if the text is useful for reading skill development. The reading materials under investigation were a collection of reading passages based on the syllabus (Reading Comprehension I) and limited to the passages that were used in class during the second semester, 1999. Based on the nature of the investigation, a descriptive qualitative design was applied to obtain the data. For this purpose, some available computer programs were used. They were used to find the description of vocabulary in the texts. The vocabulary analyses in the texts reveal some constrains. It was found that the texts, containing 7,945 words of 20 different texts, are dominated by low frequency words which account for 16.97% of the words in the texts. In terms of high frequency words occurring in the texts, function words dominate the texts. Of the 50 most frequent words, only two content words (people and say) were found. In the case of word level, it was found that the texts being used have very limited number of words from GSL (General Service List of English Words) (West, 1953). The proportion of the first 1,000 words of GSL only accounts for 44.6%. The data also show that the texts contain too large proportion of words which are not in the three levels (the first 2,000 and UWL). These words account for 26.44% of the running words in the texts. Based on the findings, some conclusions were drawn, it is believed that the constraints are due to the selection of the texts which are made of a series of short-unrelated texts (20 different topics). This kind of text is subject to the accumulation of low frequency words especially those of content words and limited of words from GSL. This vocabulary condition could defeat the development of students' readingskills and vocabulary enrichment.

Purpose This paper aims to propose an approach by understanding how Oil Industries’ Commissioning and Operation Company (OICO) company fostered its knowledge sharing (KS) by using gamification approach and nudge theory. It also ascertains the process and challenges that OICO confronted during its three-year journey for improving its organizational knowledge performance. Design/methodology/approach The study used a qualitative research method and case study design. Data were collected from several sources, including the first-hand experiences and observations of the author during contributing in the company’s canonical action research, several in-depth face-to-face interviews conducted with the KM Department team members, the data gathered from the company’s KM software and studying the related organizational procedures and documents. Findings The results reveal that the gamification approach suits for developing KS reward system and knowledge performance management. It also explains that informing project managers about their project’s knowledge performance accompanied by emoticons would lead to higher supports of KM. The proposed approach by this case study improved the organizational KS and performance by 22 per cent semi-annually. Practical implications The described case is detailed deeply and would help KMers to follow it easily. The study would spark some ideas of how to use nudge theory in KM context. Besides, KMers can design a KM reward system based on the explained case. Originality/value This study contributes to the KS and KM rewarding system, especially in project-based organizations, as limited studies have been conducted to investigate the roles that the gamification approach can play in this field. Moreover, this is the first time that use of nudge theory and choice architecture is investigated in the context of KM.
