In this paper the results of the structural and magnetic properties for amorphous alloys ribbons Fe86Zr7Nb1Cu1B5 and Fe86Zr4Y3Nb1Cu1B5 were presented. From X-ray diffraction and M�ssbauer investigations we have stated that amorphous ribbons were fully amorphous. The investigated alloys, exhibit poor soft magnetic properties at room temperature. However, at low temperatures they show relatively large magnetic susceptibility and good its time stability.

The crystallization and optimization of magnetic properties effects in FeXSiB (X=Cu, V, Co, Zr, Nb) amorphous alloys were studied by applying X-ray diffraction methods, high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), resistometric and magnetic measurements. The temperatures of the first and the second stage of crystallization, the 1h optimization annealing temperature and the Curie temperature were determined for different amorphous alloys. Activation energies of crystallization process were obtained by applying the Kissinger method. The influence of alloy additions on optimization effect and crystallization processes was carefully examined.

Fe-Si alloys have excellent soft magnetic properties, specially around 12 at% Si. However, its industrial application is limited because of the lack of ductility, which causes cracking during rolling operations for the fabrication of thin sheets. The reason of the brittleness of the high silicon alloys is a disorder/order reaction at low temperatures. The aim of this work is to analyze the effect of the addition of Aluminum on the crystalline structure of Fe-Si alloys. Samples with a chemical composition of Fe88Si12 and Fe87Si12Al1 (at%) were prepared by Spray Forming. The structure was studied by means of X-ray diffraction and Mössbauer Spectroscopy. The presence of the DO3 and α- Fe phases were observed

We present structural and magnetic properties of ZnO films doped with rare-earth Gd ions at various concentrations, achieved by ion implantation technique and pulsed laser deposition (PLD) on ZnO (0001) single crystals and sapphire. X-ray diffraction shows Gd doping in ZnO and crystal quality degrades with increasing Gd concentration. Magnetization as a function of temperature revealed a positive magnetization at 305 K and a concave trend was observed for all samples for both implanted and PLD grown samples. The highest saturation magnetization was achieved for Gd concentration of x = 7.9 % (0.7 µ B / Gd ) and at dosage of 9.0 × 1015 cm -2 (2.6 µ B / Gd ) for the PLD grown and implanted samples, respectively. We believe that the Gd ion solubility limit in the implanted and PLD grown samples, of around 3% and 7.9%, respectively, are reached.

AbstractFe-O and Co-O films were prepared by DC magnetron sputtering in a mixture of Ar and O2 gases. By varying the oxygen to argon ratio, oxide films with stoichiometry FeO, Fe3O4, α-Fe2O3, CoO and Co3O4 were produced. TEM studies showed that the Fe – oxide films were polycrystalline consisting of small almost spherical grains, about 10 nm in size. Co-O films had different microstructure with grain size and shape dependent on the amount of oxygen. X-ray diffraction studies showed that the grains in Fe-O films were randomly oriented in contrast to Co-O films in which a <111> texture was observed. Pure FeO and α-Fe2O3 films were found to be superparamagnetic at room temperature but strongly ferromagnetic at low temperatures in contrast to the antiferromagnetic nature of bulk samples. A very large shift in the hysteresis loop, about 3800 Oe, was observed in field cooled Co-CoO films indicating the presence of a large unidirectional exchange anisotropy.

The influences of the substitution of Ni with Mg on crystallographic and magnetic properties of the intermetallic alloys LaNi5-xMgx (x ≤ 0.4) were investigated. The X-ray diffraction patterns showed that all samples were of single phase, and the lattice parameters, a and c, decreased slightly upon chemical doping. LaNi5 is well known as an exchange-enhanced Pauli paramagnet. Interestingly, in LaNi5-xMgx, the ferromagnetic order existed even with a small amount of dopants; the Curie temperature reached the value of room temperature for x = 0.2, and enhanced with increasing x.

The influences of Gd concentration on martensitic transformation and magnetic properties of NiMnIn alloys were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) , vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and etc. It is Observed through the experiment: the addition of Gd enhances martensite transition temperature;X-ray diffraction analysis of experimental alloys is revealed that to the mixture is martensite and austenite at room temperature; content of Gd is not proportional to the improvement of magnetic property.

We investigated rechargeable aluminum (Al) batteries composed of an Al negative electrode, a graphite positive electrode, and an ionic liquid (IL) electrolyte at temperatures down to −40 °C. The reversible battery discharge capacity at low temperatures could be superior to that at room temperature. In situ/operando electrochemical and synchrotron X-ray diffraction experiments combined with theoretical modeling revealed stable AlCl4−/graphite intercalation up to stage 3 at low temperatures, whereas intercalation was reversible up to stage 4 at room temperature (RT). The higher-degree anion/graphite intercalation at low temperatures affords rechargeable Al battery with higher discharge voltage (up to 2.5 V, a record for Al battery) and energy density. A remarkable cycle life of >20,000 cycles at a rate of 6C (10 minutes charge time) was achievable for Al battery operating at low temperatures, corresponding to a >50-year battery life if charged/discharged once daily.

In In this study to understand the substitutional effect of Co-Zn on structural and magnetic properties of the BaFe12-2xCoxZnxO19 M-type hexagonal ferrites with concentration (x= 0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0) were synthesized by the ceramic method. The results of x-ray diffraction show polycrystalline with single phase. Scanning electron microscopy micrographs shows the hexagonal ferrites that are composed of small particles with large porosity, roughly of spherical shapes. The substitution of Fe3+ ion by Co2+ and Zn2+ has changed magnetic properties of hexagonal ferrites.
