The paper includes general findings of the study with respect to the impact of academic social networks on the academicians’ professional practice. The authors consider academic social networks as the new means of communication that seek to overcome the limits of traditional means of communication, i.e. academic conferences, scholarly periodicals and books. The study shows that web-platforms, including academic social networks, challenge the superiority of journals in the system of science communications. Based on the results of the empirical study, the authors pay extra focus to studying communication processes via digital platforms. It shows that social networks, due to their specific nature, transform the scientific activity, i.e. change an academician’s motivation and values, encouraging the pursuit of high ratings, more content, citations, followers and page traffic. The authors consider social networks as a tool of open science ideology, concluding that promotion of social networks profiles is underlined by certain power interests aimed at restructuring science communication pursuant to the values of the neoliberal economy.

During lockdown 2020, museums reacted by attempting to digitally offer everything that had previously been done in the museum space. The testing of tools and resources, as well as new forms of communication and participatory techniques, leads us to a hybrid museum where virtuality is combined with physical presence. The new reality has intensified the current discussions about the museum as a socio-cultural institution, a new definition of the concept of a museum, about the relationship between entertainment and educational forms of interpretation of heritage. Along with an overview of key research trends and methodological approaches in the field of heritage, the article presents the results of the analysis of social networks of the Museum of Cadiz, based on a methodological approach to planning and evaluating integrated communications - the PESO model, which separates the channels of information dissemination into paid, earned, social and owned. The Cadiz Museum was not chosen as an object of research by chance, since even before the pandemic, its digital communications stood out strongly against the background of other Spanish museums of different levels. It is possible that they managed to achieve this due to the fact that they made their pages on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter not only the showcase of the museum, but also the very entrance to the museum. Social networks for the Museum of Cadiz are the only channel with which he can independently work. The official pages of the Museum of Cadiz, during the pandemic, were analyzed for the period from March 12 (the announcement of the closure of museums) to August 31, using the Russian automated service for analytics of brand communities in social networks, JagaJam. The data is compared with the same period in 2019 (except for Twitter, for which there is no data).

Social networks have an outstanding marketing value and developing data mining methods for viral marketing is a hot topic in the research community. However, most social networks remain impossible to be fully analyzed and understood due to prohibiting sizes and the incapability of traditional machine learning and data mining approaches to deal with the new dimension in the learning process related to the large-scale environment where the data are produced. On one hand, the birth and evolution of such networks has posed outstanding challenges for the learning and mining community, and on the other has opened the possibility for very powerful business applications. In Dakar, faced with crisis and uncertainty, social answers begin to appear. Only those having a supportive social network could find a place in the labour's market. The observation of the daily routine of any of Dakarís micro-businesses and its social aspects, reveals the wide area of interference that exists between waged worker and the relation networks with family and relatives, ethnic groups and Muslim brotherhoods. The urban economy is supported by a network of family, alliance, and client relations. The overlap existing between waged and unwaged work can be understood only by looking closely at the network of social ties present outside the production site. Switching from the analysis of urban work relationships in Africa to the analysis of social networks is almost spontaneous, because a system of relational actions and strategies grows around the figure of the worker. The importance of the “strength of weak ties” in procuring employment is as a whole confirmed, but African sociability creates an intense inter-network relational interchange. Dakarís urban space feeds a “popular economy” where social networks and the gift-giving logic co-exist with market economy. This economy utilise different wage embryos or tokens salaries for each of the social players.

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has created big challenges and opportunities in Higher Education (HE). In this situation, several universities worldwide have responded with digital methods and hybrid classes in a short period of time. The aim of this paper is to show how the universities have adapted teaching methods to digital platforms in the academic year 2020–21. This case study is based on the experience of 37 postgraduate communication students in the course Business and Communication from a Communication Programme. The objective of this course was to promote the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) in business and following the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) of the United Nations. To do this, the students provided different solutions related to the SDGs and developed a communication strategy to inform and engage the stakeholders in the companies analyzed in a hybrid class. The results show that using this methodology and working in digital platforms, students have learned the importance of SDGs through implementing specific solutions linked to the corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy. Based on this analysis, they also developed a communication strategy showing how companies can improve society with specific actions through the lens of the SDG perspective.

The article discusses word-formation processes taking place in Internet communication (particularly, in Facebook comments), where onym denoting a public person is used in diverse modifications. It is alleged that Internet usage transformed people into participants of communication processes that have neither time nor spatial restrictions. The ability to use information technologies became not only the key of physical existence but also the assuarance of spiritual life for most people, as the World Wide Web is the main interactive environment where active mass communication takes place. The fact of conversion of social networks to sources of information is substantiated. It is determined that the language of Internet communication has a specific ability to adapt means of conversational speech to writing style specific to network communication. Communication in social networks, where there is an opportunity to speak practically uncensored, is characterized by looseness. Hence, limitless possibilities open up before its participants for the embodiment of their informative and expressional intensions. It is stated that Internet commenting allows its participants to demonstrate creative component of their personalities, represent their civil position, life views, evaluate any event etc. It is established that modern Ukrainian information space is characterized with a large number of onyms denoting public persons that are used as derivational materials in the processes of creating neologisms. To a large extent, this was facilitated by pre-election political technological moves, which consisted of creating a logo from the first syllable of the candidate's surname together with an exclamation mark – "Ze!" (Zelenskiy). The types of modifications of last name are found (reduction into one syllable, up to two syllables, cutting to the non-suffixed part), derivational methods and word making models are identified (morphological, semantic, analytical derivation). The processes associated with derivational acts have been clarified. The use of a language game involving multiple variations of the surname is stated. The range of perspectives of language of Internet communication research is outlined, which is constantly gaining momentum.
