The study strategically evaluated the nature of firm’s internal environment capabilities and competencies dynamics that will ensure feasible strategy crafting. The understanding and analysis of the challenges posed in the internal environment helps strategists to make strategic decisions relating to the resources, capabilities and core competencies since they are non routine. In order to facilitate the development and effective usage of core competencies, managers/strategists are advised to have courage, self-confidence, integrity, the capacity to deal with uncertainty and complexity, and a willingness to hold people accountable for their work, as well as their being accountable themselves. This should be necessitated because the competitive advantage and firm’s performance are often strongly related to the resources firms hold and how they are managed. This is found to be so, since human beings are strategic critical resource that produces innovation, develops policies and strategies, and firm’s competitive advantage enhancement. The study further explored some related perspectives of valuable capabilities, personnel and organizational competencies, resources tangibility and intangibility, as well as competitive advantage sustainability criteria that will guide feasible strategy crafting. The study recommends amongst others, that organization managers should as a matter of necessity, monitor and evaluate the internal environment capabilities and competencies in order to have fit with that of external resources dynamics to enhance feasible strategy crafting.

Purpose According to Christopher (2000), in a lot of sectors, the competition is a question of supply chain against supply chain. The winner in term of competitive advantage should be the one, who is able to obtain more than the competitor from the available resources. In strategic literature, Dyer and Singh (1998) are the first who introduced the concept of “relational competency” to explain why some companies gain their competitive advantage not directly from their internal resources but mainly because they are able better to combine external resources. Design/methodology/approach This paper is a case study. Findings The author describes the different phases and strategic decisions in the building of a real supplier eco-system. Research limitations/implications It is a sole case study. Practical implications This study is a description of a success story. Originality/value This study is a description of an external resource management in action.

<p>Many companies and organizations are increasingly focusing on human capital as a competitive advantage in a rapidly changing environment. To achieve business success, companies are expecting their employees to perform at higher levels, to be more customer-responsive, more process-oriented, more involved in shared leadership and more responsible for creating the knowledge that adds value to an organization’s distinguishing capabilities. When embarking on the path of selecting and defining competencies, an organization needs to pause for an introspective review. Linking competencies to the organization’s purpose, goals and values is the key to positively affect the organization’s direction and bottom line. Competencies can be categorized into one of four groups, organization-based, individual-based, technical and behavioral. From a strategic direction approach, the organization that knows and understands its core competencies and capabilities can use them to attain a strategic advantage. In addition, the organization understands that there is a diverse cross section of organizational competencies that are necessary for fulfilling its mission. Successful application of competencies lies in how they are defined. Strategic management does not exist in a vacuum; strategic decisions are strongly influenced by, and often dependent on, certain organizational and environmental attributes. This chapter discusses the context for strategic decision-making, be it a managerial, business, or corporate level choice. First, a firm’s vision, mission, and values are defined and discussed. Second, the chapter unpacks firm resources, capabilities, core competencies, and activities. Finally, the nature of competitive advantage is elaborated, and three types of competitive advantage are distinguished: differentiation, cost leadership, and dual advantage. Overall the chapter provides foundational insight into the factors that make up the context for strategic decision-making.

AbstractLookism is a term used to describe discrimination based on the physical appearance of a person. We suppose that the social impact of lookism is a philosophical issue, because, from this perspective, attractive people have an advantage over others. The first line of our argumentation involves the issue of lookism as a global ethical and aesthetical phenomenon. A person’s attractiveness has a significant impact on the social and public status of this individual. The common view in society is that it is good to be more attractive and healthier. This concept generates several ethical questions about human aesthetical identity, health, authenticity, and integrity in society. It seems that this unequal treatment causes discrimination, diminishes self-confidence, and lowers the chance of a job or social enforcement for many human beings. Currently, aesthetic improvements are being made through plastic surgery. There is no place on the human body that we cannot improve with plastic surgery or aesthetic medicine. We should not forget that it may result in the problem of elitism, in dividing people into primary and secondary categories. The second line of our argumentation involves a particular case of lookism: Melanie Gaydos. A woman that is considered to be a model with a unique look.

<p></p><p>Human beings live in various places. Place affects human being. A few experiments were conducted on 200 students, including 100 male and 100 female. Participants were the students of a selected school. Place effect on participants’ motor, cognitive behaviors and academic confidence studied. The subjects were divided into two groups. Group-A was consisted of students those were in the school for more than 5 years, whereas in group-B students with less than 5 years stay in the school were there. It was assumed that duration as stay in the school representing place effect may provide some relationship link? Following instruments were used; Taping Board (Electronic) 10 trails for both groups as motor performance, Star Mirror Drawing (Electronics) 10 trails with preferred hand both groups for transfer as cognition and Academic Self-efficacy Scale for all groups for academic confidence implied in similar controlled conditions. The results provided useful significant information about the place effect; some emic proposition regarding gender also emerged. More studies recommended.</p><br><p></p>

The objective of this research was to describes the morality contained in the novel Affairs at the Negeri di Ujung Tanduk the works Tere Liye. The research method used content analysis. The data in this research is a sentence containing the moral values ​​contained by the novel of the State at Ujung Tanduk Karya Tere Liye. Technique of collecting data using documentation technique and record. Data analysis techniques with steps: data reduction, data tabulation and coding, interpretation, classification, and conclusion. The result of the research shows that morality in Tere Liye Negeri di Ujung Tanduk novel is: first, human relationships with other human beings in the form of self existence, self esteem, self confidence, fear, death, longing, resentment, loneliness, maintaining the sanctity of greed, developing courage, honesty, hard work, patient, resilient, cheerful, steadfast, open, visionary, independent, brave, courageous, optimistic, envy, hypocritical, reflective, responsible, principle, confident, disciplined , and voracious. Second, human relationships with other humans or social and nature in the form of cooperation, acquaintance, hypocrisy, caring, hypocrisy, caring, friendship, smile, mutual help, and betrayal. Third human relationships in the form of God's menthidising and avoiding shirk, piety and pleading with prayers, prayers performed by human beings, as an awareness that everything in this universe belongs to God. This study will be a bit different than others in the sense that it pierces directly into the human hearts. The world current economy is full of mysterious and uncertainty. There are plenty of different perspectives, but who can guarantee that they are right? The root of the problems of all issues generally come from the human heart or action. If we able to deal with human issues, it sorts out almost all the problems. The purpose of this study is to determine the contributing factors towards the sustainable competitive advantage (SCA) of small and medium-sized accounting firms (SMPs) in Malaysia. It aims to have a long-term impact on the prospects for the practitioners and the accounting professions. It becomes an attention to the world when numerous accounting scandals being published, and they jeopardized the accounting professions’ reputations. There are a few undisclosed cases especially it dealt with compliance, corporate tax, GST, money laundering and other issues, not only in Malaysia but in other countries as well. As such, the study focuses on creating better humans. Key findings from the literature highlighted the deficiencies in the core competencies of the firms. They are related to human capital and most of the researchers pinpointed the importance of knowledge, skills, capabilities in which it links to competencies in the corporate environment. The resource-based view of the firm is a common theory used by researchers as a mean of explaining competitive advantage and superior performance amongst the firms. And most of them stress the necessity to meet customer needs and expectation to create a sustainable competitive advantage.

In order to explore how the core technological capabilities of the high-tech industry affect the sustainable competitive advantage of an enterprise, by consulting a large number of literature studies on sustainable competition, the characteristics of high-tech enterprises were summarized through analysis and sorting and a sustainable competition model was proposed based on market, management, marketing, strategy, and organizational innovation. Through factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equations of 266 survey data of related companies, the effectiveness of the model based on the impact of core capabilities of high-tech companies on sustainable competitive advantage was confirmed. The results show that the core competencies of high-tech enterprises’ market recognition, strategic planning, management and operation, full-person marketing, and dynamic marketing directly affect the company’s sustainable competitive advantage. The most important influence on a company’s sustainable competitive advantage is market awareness, and the organizational innovation of the company can also influence the sustainable competitive advantage indirectly, while dynamic marketing can increase the other four capabilities to improve the sustainable competitive advantage of the enterprise. The theoretical model is established to identify the core technological capabilities of high-tech enterprises that can help enterprises effectively identify the core technological capabilities that can form a sustainable competitive advantage and then provide ideas for enterprises to build theoretical research on core technological capabilities.
