The article discusses the issues of variation application of teaching methods at the university on the example of learning English by future economists. It is noted that the traditional methods of teaching humanities and professional disciplines often represent the transfer of theoretical knowledge in lectures or practical classes. Variability is the use or combination of those methods that are necessary for the formation of a certain professionally significant quality. In this case, all methods are chosen taking into account the personal and activity approaches, and are aimed at the active interaction of students and teachers, taking into account their personal characteristics. The article also emphasizes the importance of gaming techniques, simulation games, in which the activities of specialists are modeled and a foreign vocabulary is practiced.

Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) is an interactive method which helps learning English language through communication, in a theoretical point of view CLT is a more effective method compared with traditional methods such as Grammar Translation Method and Audio lingual Method, and it is a preferred method to be used nowadays in foreign language learning. This is a descriptive study which aims to analyze and discover the 9-year elementary schools students’ opinions and points of view about learning a foreign language based on the principles of contemporary interactive student-centered methods and traditional ones. It is introduced a theoretical analyses about methods of language teaching in general, characteristics description and principles of CLT, accuracy and fluency in CLT, teacher and student role, communicative competence, CLT application, significance, impact, comparison of CLT with traditional methods. The data are collected from students of 9-year elementary schools on sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth grades through a survey questionnaire. Questions on the questionnaire are focused on finding students’ opinions and points of view about language learning in a certain context in practice, according to their needs and preferences on learning a language based on CLT premises about communication, accuracy, fluency, learning grammar and vocabulary, teacher roles etc. and principles of other traditional methods. Results are converted into percentages which show students preferences about the way they are used to, need and want to learn a foreign language and with which principles of the foreign language teaching methods they agree or not. Findings are described and analyzed according to their relation with theoretical issues. From the analyses it results that using CLT may prove to be a very successful method in both learning and teaching because students welcome the principles used in this method despite their “attachment” to the principles of previous teaching methods that they are used to.

The article focuses on the problems of teaching social studies at high school. The author tries to actualize the use of gaming technologies during lessons. The aim of the study is to determine the effectiveness of the game in teaching social studies to schoolchildren. During social studies lessons, it is necessary to use various teaching methods, one of which is the game. Thanks to the game, the theoretical knowledge gained during the lesson will be much better assimilated by students. Also, thanks to game technologies, it is possible to solve the problem of educational motivation of schoolchildren; it will be interesting for any student to participate in a game. Play activity today is of great importance in the development and education of the individual, as it gives each child an opportunity to feel themselves as a subject of a certain type of activity, to express themselves, to form thier own abilities. During the game, an intellectually passive student can perform such a volume of work that is completely inaccessible to them in a traditional educational situation. In scientific and other pedagogical studies related to play activities, one can find the concept of an "emotional accelerator" of learning. In addition to theoretical research, the article describes a pedagogical experiment, in which 20 students of 10th grades took part. The article says that using various play forms and methods it is possible to alternate between “serious” and “frivolous” work, and thereby ensure sustained attention to the studied material in the classroom, and the study of the course “Social Studies” at high school is a vital necessity. It is important to provide quality education using various active methods and techniques, in particular, using the form of business games.

Teaching poetry offers the teacher of literature some basic and active ways to engage students in learning English because of poetry’s rich language which represents an opportunity for learners to explore meanings and be able to formulate creative responses. One must be aware of the fact that poetry includes various types which differ in forms, and each one of these may have a particular influence on students? learning literature; that is why one centralized the research area on concrete poetry or what is called visual poetry too. This study aims to teach students not only to read and listen to a poem but to develop the skill of creativity through rewriting and this ability would be provoked by the visual shape of the concrete poem. One is trying to bring fun in the EFL classroom and particularly during the literature lecture where students are probably bored by analyzing every line and stanza. So, all these aims were to be concrete via a test, observation and questionnaire. These scientific tools confirmed one’s hypotheses about how positive is concrete poetry for the group of the third-year English L.M.D. students at the University of Djilali Liabes, Sidi Bel Abbes

The active development of digital technologies has had a significant impact on the educational process. Higher education institutions en masse switch to distance learning courses, vlogs, video hosting, popular science educational platforms. All of these platforms provide lectures in various branches of knowledge, regardless the curriculum, level of education, or even professional orientation. The development of modern media formats implies the possibility of active interaction with content. Can the format of video lecture meet these requirements? Or does the content consumer remain passive and cant influence anything? How long will such training format exist, and what are its prospects? In such rapidly changing conditions of life, the skills of flexibility and adaptation are applied to the educational process and teaching formats likewise. To improve the efficiency of work, everyone, including teachers, lecturers and students, needs to quickly adjust and adapt. The authors of the article attempted to explore the popularity and effectiveness of video lectures, identify the problems related to this form of teaching, and offer some possible solutions to create an educational model of online interaction that would promote the development of communication and learning skills.

In this chapter, we present the Web-based carpooling system ORISS, which was initially developed by a student project group at University of Oldenburg. It is currently being deployed at Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg with support of the DBU (Federal German Foundation for the Environment). We describe the role of carpools in traffic, particularly in commuter traffic, and show perspectives of an increased usage of carpools. A significant impact on the eco-balance of the university can be expected. We explain how Internet technologies and geographic information systems can be used for the arrangement of carpools, and show advantages over traditional methods of carpooling. The concrete architecture of ORISS and the algorithms used are outlined. We conclude the chapter by describing the circumstances of deployment and propose possible future extensions of the system.
