Every day, all around the world, millions of people request postural and/or motor rehabilitation. The rehabilitation process, also known as Tertiary Prevention, intends to be a sort of therapy to restore functionality and self-sufficiency of the patient, and regards not only millions of patients daily, but involves also a huge number of professionals in medical staffs, i.e. specialists, nurses, physiotherapists and therapists, social workers, psychologists, physiatrists. The care is given in hospitals, clinics, geriatric facilities, and with territorial home care. For the large number of patients as well as the medical staff and facilities necessary to support the appropriate postural and motor training, the monetary costs of rehabilitation is so large, it is difficult to estimate. So, every effort towards a simplification of the rehabilitation route is desirable and welcome, and this chapter covers this aspect.

Stroke is one of the major causes of disability in the world. Due to the extended lifetime of the world's population, the number of people affected by stroke has increased substantially over the last years. Stroke may lead to sensorimotor deficits, usually causing hemiplegia or hemiparesia. In order to reduce motor deficits and accelerate functional recovery, MP combined with motor rehabilitation was introduced to the rehabilitation process of post-stroke patients. Evidence has shown that MP combining with motor rehabilitation based on activities of daily living was more effective than conventional motor rehabilitation used per se. This combination proved very useful and effective, with significant results in improvement of motor deficits in post-stroke patients. However, further studies must be conducted to determine specific parameters, such as type of imagery, frequency or duration.

<b>Introduction:</b> The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic is one of the biggest healthcare challenges that the medical environment has needed to face since many, many years. Clinicians all over the world present their recommendations for everyday procedures in order to provide safety to the medical staff as well as to patients. The disease leads to ARDS in many cases and some patients will require prolonged intubation; therefore, to avoid the negative aspects of this condition, a number of patients will undergo tracheostomy. Tracheostomy is an aerosol-generating procedure, therefore, when performed on a SARS-CoV-2-positive patient, there is a high risk of contamination both of the medical team and the operating theatre. <br><b>Aim:</b> We describe a set of guidelines that we believe should minimize those risks. We focus on aspects like: presurgical testing, proper preparation of the operating theatre prior to the patients’ arrival, initial education of the medical staff participating in the surgery, patient’ transport and tracheostomy. We describe the critical points during every step and suggest ways to minimalize the risk of viral transmission.

The CoViD-19 pandemic have been lasting since 2019 year. It is a serious threat for health care system around the world because a huge number of patients requires of intensive assistance. Firstly, SARS-CoV-2 causes damage of the respiratory system. However, researches demonstrate that CoViD-19 is the hidden enemy for our body. It causes suffering of other organs. Coagulopathy often develops in SARS-CoV-2 patients. It includes acute inflammation, hypercoagulation and violation of the integrity and functions of the endothelium. A lot of scientific information has accumulated about changed in the hemostatic system during deveploment of CoViD-19. However, clinical researches are ambiguous, but abnormal blood clotting is demonstrated in most hospitalized patients with acute CoViD-19. Our research is aimed to analyse the main parameters of the hemostatic system in the pregnant women with infection of SARS-CoV-2 and the comparison with conventionally healthy pregnant patients. We have revealed the concentration of fibrinogen is increasing by 2,1 g/L, levels of D-dimer are increased by 500 ng/mL, the prothrombic time is rising by 1,2 seconds in plasma of the CoViD-19 pregnant patients unlike by conventionally healthy pregnant patients. Changes in the duration of activated partial thromboplastin time weren`t detected in plasma of the CoViD-19 pregnant patients unlike by conventionally healthy pregnant patients. Our research could be useful for diagnostic complications of the hemostatic system in CoViD-19 patients, for detection of blood clotting disorders during early stages of development, suppression of the spread of pathological processes of the fetus in pregnant women and for creation of effective treatment

During ENT practice, we have to examine the nose and perform several nasal procedures in our clinics. Otolaryngologists are at a high risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus. Nasal endoscopy is a major procedure for the diagnosis of the nasal and paranasal sinus diseases and introducing proper health services for our patients. In addition, the world is living the era of the COVID-19 pandemic, for which we have to protect ourselves, educate our medical staff, and work together against the spread of this severely contagious disease within our communities. The main purpose of this study is to review the protocol of nasal endoscopy in the ENT clinic and enhance the safest way to deal with patients during this pandemic.(1)

Despite the importance of patient safety in home-care nursing provided by licensed nurses in patients’ homes, little is known about the nationwide incidence of adverse events in Japan. This article describes the incidence of adverse events among home-care nursing agencies in Japan and investigates the characteristics of agencies that were associated with adverse events. A cross-sectional nationwide self-administrative questionnaire survey was conducted in March 2020. The questionnaire included the number of adverse event occurrences in three months, the process of care for patient safety, and other agency characteristics. Of 9979 agencies, 580 questionnaires were returned and 400 were included in the analysis. The number of adverse events in each agency ranged from 0 to 47, and 26.5% of the agencies did not report any adverse event cases. The median occurrence of adverse events was three. In total, 1937 adverse events occurred over three months, of which pressure ulcers were the most frequent (80.5%). Adjusting for the number of patients in a month, the percentage of patients with care-need level 3 or higher was statistically significant. Adverse events occurring in home-care nursing agencies were rare and varied widely across agencies. The patients’ higher care-need levels affected the higher number of adverse events in home-care nursing agencies.

An outbreak of “Pneumonia of Unknown Etiology” occurred in Wuhan, China, in late December 2019. Later, the agent factor was identified and coined as SARS-CoV-2, and the disease was named coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). In a shorter period, this newly emergent infection brought the world to a standstill. On 11 March 2020, the WHO declared COVID-19 as a pandemic. Researchers across the globe have joined their hands to investigate SARS-CoV-2 in terms of pathogenicity, transmissibility, and deduce therapeutics to subjugate this infection. The researchers and scholars practicing different arts of medicine are on an extensive quest to come up with safer ways to curb the pathological implications of this viral infection. A huge number of clinical trials are underway from the branch of allopathy and naturopathy. Besides, a paradigm shift on cellular therapy and nano-medicine protocols has to be optimized for better clinical and functional outcomes of COVID-19-affected individuals. This article unveils a comprehensive review of the pathogenesis mode of spread, and various treatment modalities to combat COVID-19 disease.

Processing and control systems based on artificial intelligence (AI) have progressively improved mobile robotic exoskeletons used in upper-limb motor rehabilitation. This systematic review presents the advances and trends of those technologies. A literature search was performed in Scopus, IEEE Xplore, Web of Science, and PubMed using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) methodology with three main inclusion criteria: (a) motor or neuromotor rehabilitation for upper limbs, (b) mobile robotic exoskeletons, and (c) AI. The period under investigation spanned from 2016 to 2020, resulting in 30 articles that met the criteria. The literature showed the use of artificial neural networks (40%), adaptive algorithms (20%), and other mixed AI techniques (40%). Additionally, it was found that in only 16% of the articles, developments focused on neuromotor rehabilitation. The main trend in the research is the development of wearable robotic exoskeletons (53%) and the fusion of data collected from multiple sensors that enrich the training of intelligent algorithms. There is a latent need to develop more reliable systems through clinical validation and improvement of technical characteristics, such as weight/dimensions of devices, in order to have positive impacts on the rehabilitation process and improve the interactions among patients, teams of health professionals, and technology.

Abstract Community System of Social Support is the basis of modern health care systems not only in Poland but all over the world in the prophylaxis-treatment-rehabilitation procedure. In Poland, family doctors, commune councils and territorial self-governments are involved in it. Family doctors perform a substantial function, whereas commune councils and territorial self-governments an administrative one. The principle of the system work is evaluation of its benefits. Its aim is the reduction of the number of patients who abuse alcohol and those who abuse alcohol despite treatment.
