Sustaining Competitive Advantage in SME Sector Through Green Computing

The objective of this chapter is to identify the factors that will make e-commerce adoption a sustainable one in a developing country like India. Using secondary research, variables that influence decision for e-commerce adoption were determined. Then using primary research, these variables were tested in different SMEs in Odisha, India. Data from 50 organizations were collected using a structured interview process. The results of data analysis using discriminant analysis indicate that organizational readiness, managerial productivity, external pressure, decision aids, compatibility, and perceived usefulness were factors found to be important determinants of adoption.

Purpose – This study investigates the consumer’s technology adoption toward electronic commerce. In addition to the variables perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use derived from TAM, the study included and tested factors like perceived security, perceived product value, personal cost, perceived enjoyment, perceived cost and perceived quality. Design/methodology/approach – A questionnaire was developed primarily based on the available scales in the already published literature. All model constructs requested participants to indicate their perceptions of Likert-style responses. The data analysis was executed using Smart PLS to test the validity and reliability of the measurement instrument.

This research was conducted to analyze the effect of innovation orientation and entrepreneurship on the competitive advantage of culinary MSMEs in the Cilandak Barat area, South Jakarta. The population used for this study was 36 actors in the culinary field of SMEC. The sampling technique uses a saturated sampling method. The data analysis tool used is PLS 3.0. The results of this study indicate that the innovation variable has a significant influence on the culinary competitiveness of SMEC. And, entrepreneurial orientation has a significant influence on the culinary competitiveness of SMEC. Purpose This study aims at investigating the effect of psychological empowerment on job burnout and competitive advantage with the mediating role of organizational commitment and creativity. Design/methodology/approach The statistical population included all the managers and staffs of Tooka Company in Iran, and for data analysis, 120 completed questionnaires were used. Data analysis was carried out by SPSS 18 and Amos 20 software and structural equation modeling method. To test the mediating relationships, bootstrap method was used. Findings The findings showed that psychological empowerment has a significant direct effect on job burnout and competitive advantage. Also, psychological empowerment has a significant indirect effect on job burnout through the mediating role of organizational commitment. In addition, psychological empowerment has a significant indirect effect on competitive advantage through the mediating role of organizational creativity. Originality/value This study is among the first to investigate the relationship between psychological empowerment, job burnout, competitive advantage, organizational commitment and creativity.

This study aims to obtain a concrete picture of the effectiveness of the application of the principles of teacher Islamic communication in fostering the character of tenth grade students of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Rantauprapat. The communication process in education is not only understood as a one-way knowledge transfer process, however, there must be a serious effort on the part of the educator / teacher, as a communicator, to be able to provide good role models. Qualitative research methods try to understand a phenomenon as the understanding of the respondents studied, with an emphasis on the subjective aspects of one's behavior. Qualitative research provides an opportunity for researchers to understand the way respondents describe the world around them based on the way they think. The researcher tries to enter the conceptual world of the subject under study to capture what and how things happen. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews in this study researchers used a semi-structured interview (semitructure interview), namely: interviews in the category of in-depth interviews. Data about the application of teacher Islamic communication and the communication character of tenth grade students, data analysis used in this study during the field using the Miles and Huberman Model, namely the activities in qualitative data analysis are carried out interactively and continue continuously until completion, so that the data is already saturated.

The purpose of this study is to explain and obtain empirical evidence about the effect of trust on perceived usefulness, the effect of trust and perceived usefulness on buying interest. The population in this study is consumers in the city of Denpasar who have an interest in buying fashion products at the online store Zalora. The number of samples used in this study were 110 respondents. The data analysis technique used in this research is Path Analysis. The results showed that trust has a positive and significant effect on perceived usefulness, trust has a positive and significant effect on consumer buying interest, perceived usefulness has a positive and significant effect on consumer buying interest, and perceived usefulness positively and significantly mediates the effect of trust in consumer buying interest. This has the meaning that consumers who already have confidence in Zalora's online store fashion products, then supported by the perception of good benefits for consumers, can increase consumer buying interest in the online site Zalora. Purpose: The purpose of the study was to establish the need of creating sustainable competitive advantage in banking through technology, customer relationship management and internal marketing.Methodology: The research was carried out through an explanatory research. The target population of the study was 3,193 employees of the Co-op Bank. A sample of 68 employees spread across the bank was selected. The researcher used descriptive and inferential statistics in this study.  The study used primary data. The study used a questionnaire as the preferred data collection tool. This study used the quantitative method of data analysis which included inferential and descriptive statistics. Descriptive statistics included frequencies and measures of tendency mainly means and frequencies. Inferential statistics included correlation analysis. The tool for data analysis was Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 17 program. The results were presented using tables and pie charts to give a clear picture of the research findings.Results: The findings indicated that information technology has significant positive effect on competitive advantage. The findings also showed that customer relationship management (CRM) has a significant positive effect on competitive advantage of banks. The findings further implied that internal marketing has a significant effect on competitive advantage. Further the findings implied that information technology has significant positive effect on competitive advantage.Unique contribution to theory, practice and policy: Following study results, it was recommended that investment in Information technology be emphasized in the banks as it has an effect on the overall achievement of competitive advantage. The study also recommended that banks should emphasize customer relationship by investing in a customer relationship management system. It was further recommended that employees are central to an effective CRM and as such firms must manage its relationships with their employees if they have any hope of fully serving customer needs and that this is especially important in firms where employees are the eyes of customers.

This paper attempts to discover the role that virtual teams play in increasing the number of innovations in the research and development (R&D) department in global companies, and the extent to which this affects achieving a competitive advantage for the organizations under study (SAMSUNG, LG, IBM, and Toyota). The research was based on the method of exploratory analysis of data as the method of the study, and to achieve this goal, the researcher collected data on the number of hypothetical employees assigned to the research and development department in those companies compared to investments and sales and related to the number of innovations during the period between 2009- 2016. The research was based on the method of exploratory data analysis as a method for the study and analysis of the data used. The results of the research concluded that there is a positive direct relationship between the previous variables. Virtual teams are also one of the most important modern methods used in modern business enterprises and their necessity as a result of increasing response and shifting from serial work to simultaneous and parallel work to increase innovation, which leads to an increase in the competitive advantage of these organizations. The study recommends the need to pay attention to building effective virtual teams within organizations because of their essential advantages and to overcome the most important challenges that hinder the effectiveness and success of these teams. By increasing collaboration, interaction and efficiency leadership.

Cassava is a major food crops which widely developed in Lampung province, it caused   high adaptability, easily cultivated, smallest risk of failure, and high price. The study was objective to analyze competitive advantage of casava farming system compared to  maize and soybean farming system. The activity were conducted at Central Lampung regency from April 2012 to February 2013. The primary data were obtained from respondents with sample of 90 farmers, using survey methods with structured interviews and questionnaires. Secondary data were obtained from the office of relevant agencies and BPS Lampung. Data analysis were financial analysis and competitive advantage analysis. The results showed that cassava farming more profitable than maize and soybean farming system  income Rp.21.109.000/ha and R/C of 2,91 compared to corn farming income Rp.15.935.000 and R/C of 2,01 and soybean farming income Rp.5.187.800/ha and R/C of 1,48.  Cassava farming system will be competitive compared corn and soybeans farming on the productivity levels at least 34.567 kg/ha and 20,788 kg/ha and cassava price at least IDR 654/kg and IDR 394/kg.
